Asking for opinions- Zen V Plus or Zen Vision: M

I am about to purchase my first CL product and will choose between the Zen V Plus or the Zen Vision: M. I am leaning towards the Vision M but wanted to hear from someone who may own these units and see what they thought before I dropped a couple hundred dollars. My biggest hope is that I can download music to the unit directly from Windows Media Player and not have to use supplementary software. I currently have a Pioneer Inno portable XM but to load my own media I have to use Napster and they wont allow certain artists to be loaded due to private licensing agreements and I dont want to have to deal with that. The new player will be used mostly for music but thought I would get the Vision: M?due to the larger memory and the ability to load video, if I ever become savvy enough to figure out how to do it!?Thanks in advance for you responses.

The Vision m has a hard dri've while the Zen V uses flash memory. A player with a hard dri've is much more fragile and prone to damage from dropping it or from vibration. If you plan to be very acti've with the player then I suggest that you get a player with flash memory.

  • What travel dock/speaker system for the Zen Vision 60gb?

Hi all, forgive me if this has been asked before, but I have just bought the Zen vision 60gb, and I would like a compatible travel dock; does anybody know which Creative dock the Zen 60gb will fit's I am not sure myself as the ones I have been looking at refer only to the Zen vision 30gb,
I intend to use it for holidays, camping etc.
Failing that, can anybody recommend a good portable speaker set up for the Zen vision 60gb?
    thanks for your time guys!
    cheers Dave

Any set of computer speakrs can be connected to any MP3 player. They would be far more versatile than a docking station, as the docking station becomes almost useless after the player breaks. Alternati'vely, if your husband's office computer has speakers, he could just plug the Touch into the computer (may require a software installation) and just play the music through the computer (no cash outlay at all ?.)
If you decide to go with speakers, $50 should be able to buy you a pretty decent set of amplified speakers; there is no need to go beyond a 2 speaker (stereo) system since MP3s only output in 2 channels.

  • Data Recovery Software for the Zen Vision M

Data Recovery Software for the Zen Vision M:
Has anyone had any success recovering lost sound files from a Vision M, with software, physical repair services, or otherwise? Does anyone claim to be able to recover information from these devices?
The data recovery programs I have tried fail to recognize the dri've, since it doesn't show up in list of dri'ves for some reason (Is there a way to make this show up?). Any suggestions/ recommendations would be greatly appreciated as I lost over a year of recordings after an unexpected forced reformatting. How would one even go about finding someone for this job?
    Thanks, GW

Haven't really tried the data recovery so I would like to know more about this one too.

  • Windows 7 64 bit driver for the Zen Vision M?

    - Where EXACTLY can I find the Windows 7 64-bit driver for the Zen Vision M? My new computer came with it installed in Windows Media Player 2, but the driver became corrupt. I can't seem to find that driver on the Creative or Microsoft download websites. Please Help!

The driver is nati've to Windows. Creative does not write the MTP driver. I would suggest re-install WMP2 or contact Microsoft for advice if it is corrupt. As for software to use the player on a 64 Win 7system? there is nothing for the Vision M. You may want to read this page? http://support.creative.com/KB/showarticle.aspx?sid=605&h=3

  • TV Connectivity for Creative Zen Vision M 6

Hi all,?I'm trying to buy a new mp3 player, with some requisites. I'll use the player at home linked with my receiver as a kind of media center. I know that there's a dock station for the Zen Vision M 60GB. I saw also that there's a remote control (wired and another wireless remote I200). Is it possible to combine the dock and these remote controls to control Zen by the TV monitor? Could I see, for instance, the playlists on the tv monitor, or do I have to first choose the song or playlist in the Zen?If not, is there another company that makes something like that?I saw that the Ipod has something like that, because I have?a Denon receiver and Denon has a dock that allows al Ipod to be controlled in the tv monitor and the receiver remote control. Thanks a lot!!?RegardsAlexandre

  • Where I can find free drivers for Creative Zen Vision

I've lost my Creative Zen Vision:M drivers, so I can't share with my friends my music, videos and photos. Do you know where I can find these free drivers for Zen Vision:M?

I've downloaded Creative ZEN Vision:M 30 GB Firmware .62.02e and it says to me "Your player is not connected, please connect your player". I've connected my Creative Zen Vision:M with PC and it always says to me "Your player is not connected, please connect your player". What I must do now Thanks.

  • Can't find right software for my Zen Vision M

    - Win XP
    Win media player 0
    Zen Vision M 30GB.
I can only find the software for the Media Source Organizer but this doesn't allow me to transfer music from libary to player... It thinks my player is a minidisc of 74 minutes capacity! :-(( It won't see my Zen.
Why is there only software for Vista on the Creative site? I can't find it for XP...
Hope there is someone who can help. Thanks.

  • COMPLAINT: NO RADIO RECORDING FOR 60GB ZEN VISION:M MO

It seems that although creative has restored radio recording for the 30gb models, the 60 gb ones are shipping with the function disabled! I strongly believe this function is still present in the hardware, since it is much cheaper and less risky for creative corporation to just eliminate it from the firmware instead of tinkering with the hardware.
After I bought my 60gb zen vision:m (November 8, 2006), I updated the firmware to the latest version for the 60GB model, and still no radio recording. so it seems that Creative has real plans to make radio recording permanently disabled, but perhaps its legal advisers have suggested that a class-action lawsuit would occur if they took away a feature off the 30gb model that came packaged with the product.
As a result I will try to return my player and find an alternati've that allows for radio recording. If I can't find another player that does it, I will still choose a non-Creative (perhaps iPod?) device, due to my frustration with this corporation.Message Edited by arbguy on -9-200604:22 PM

  • Universal Power Adapter for Europe for my Zen Vision

I'm going to Spain in 2 weeks and i'm wondering if the Uni'versal Power Adapter will work with my Zen Vision: M. In the compatability section, it names several models, but I don't see the Vision: M. Does that mean I won't be able to bring my Zen with me? Or am I just not looking hard enough and I can actually buy the Uni'versal Adapter?

    Hi,
The Uni'versal Power Adapter is compatible with your Vision: M, see the specs.
Bring along with you the Sync Adapter, just in case.

  • Just asking for opinions here

Ok first off I KNOW this isn't a T-Mobile discussion board but  I recently read online that   T-Mobile  was going to stop offering Subsidized phones and have the customer pay full price for the phone  however they have the option to pay for the phone in monthly payments  instead of the whole thing out right.
in the article i read it said that  AT&T and VZW were gonna see how well this works out for them before they decide to go this route because there not sure customers are ready to start paying full price for the phone.
so my question to you as Verizon customers  would YOU go for this if  they went this route and offered plans like this..
$40 for the monthly price of the phone (not the price just for having a smart phone)
$50 unlimited talk text and 10GB of Data
$55 unlimited talk text and 15GB of Data
$60 unlimited talk text and 20GB of Data
$65 unlimited talk text and 25GB of Data
$70 unlimited talk text and unlimited Data
these are however plans i thought up (minus the $70 unlimited everything cause T-Mobile is doing that)    I am just looking for opinions here to see if that is something you guys would do cause  I myself think it's a great idea

of course they're aren't any plans for sharing  because it would be like Prepaid so to speak the only difference is you would pay monthly for the phone instead of coughing up the full price all at once   I'm sure if they did that tho   they'd probably charge an extra  $40 or something  per  add a line  which i guess would be fine too especially if people choose to go with the $70 unlimited plan in that case however the monthly bill would be a bit pricey cause your looking at $110 for the first phone then $80 for the 2nd phone till the phones are paid off then the bill would go down to $110 a month  after the 2 phones are paid off..     as  for T-Mobile only doing $400  I haven't heard of that till now  if  Verizon goes this route they'd need to allow someone to get the note 2 and still do the $40 a month deal  but as for my post   I just wondering if you think it's a good idea  to try

  • Greetings, Asking for Opinions

I have been out of web development for many years.... because as much as i love flash... it needed to go.
I have been playing around with edge animate now and love it.
Here is what i have going on so far for a personnal website, its not done by a long long as i plan to program a game inside the dead area ( on a mouse input machine, moblie is diff )
Anyways i wrote a simple javascript "engine" to encapsulate adobe edge programs ( download and use it u want i dont care heh ) all it does at the moment is chose which version to display, currently off if touch input is availible.
Long story short i just want to know what u all think ( hobbyists and pros alike ), i've never posted here or anywhere for web dev so don't roast me for seeking input....
Future plans for the lil engine i made on saturday include browser screening to do an adobe free backstage ( fallback, old computers hate adobe edge, androids tend to stall with edge ), audio support ( in-part waiting on adobe to see what they do ) and image galleries for stuff ive done.
Image gallery will probly be php tied into edge.
Thanks in advance Matt, Be kind...

Oh i completely know that, but understand when i had to call adobe because of the android issue, (which is repeatable, i dont call anyone unless i can't sort the issue myself), they told me they dont offically support moblie, so features are great but offical support is critical.
There was confusion with a support ticket, i stand corrected "Mobile is Offically Supported"

  • Best "work-out" case for the Zen Vision

I received a ZV:M about a week ago, and I'm mainly going to be using it'swhile working out at the gym. I've read that the case Creative makes is the best to get, but is there a thing on the back to hold an arm band Is there a better case to use while working out? Any other info would be greatly appreciated.

I have the DLO Action Jacket for my ZVM.
Good protection, and comes with a belt clip and an arm band. WARNING - It will scuff up the black plastic face of your ZVM (for that matter, so will most cases...the ZVM's plastic is notoriously fragile....) - so if that's a concern to you, invest in a Best-Skin-Ever or equivalent. I'm not crazy about the case...it's a bit of a dust magnet...but I was thankful it was on the other day when my ZVM slipped from my hand...rolled down 5 stairs and on to a concrete floor. It survi'ved without any damage. Another word of warning...be extremely careful if you're using your ZVM, or any hard-dri've based player, while working out. The jarring of repeated high-impact exercise (like jogging) is not good for the hard dri've and can cause damage. For that sort of thing, I'd recommend investing in a cheap flash-based player.

  • Please, please bring out a Zen Vision:M with integrated digital camera!

Is there some chance to contact the development division of creative and ask for a Zen Vision:M with integrated digital camera? there are mobiles out there with 0 Megapixel cameras and they don?t have a 30 GB disk space.
There would be nothing better then have this nice Vision:M mp3 player with an integrated camera..
one additional use for Vision:M besides using for listining to mp3 is to keep and carry around photos with it anyways.. so why don?t they bring it our with camera? wouldn?t need to take photos with another devise, transfer these photos to the pc/mac and then transfer them back on Vision:M.... just carrying aroung one devise would be so much better... but I guess that is also some marketing stuff... first sell this generation of Vision:M, and then wait some time and come out with the new generation of players, with finally integrated camera... or maybe just wait, until ipod brings them out first... anyways, I really don?t see a technical problem for this...
Olympus m:robe 500 put a mp3 camera on the market a couple of years ago, though it can't really compete with Vision:M on the mp3 player part.
    any comments from anyone?

I actually disagree, reason being that when you take into account the cameras that are build into the phones they are at most adequate, 2MP is the current theme (at least in UK I think). The option/settings/tweeks with the phone cameras is poor when you look at it, stand alone digital cams offer better features compared with phone digicams, then you have the power too, to dri've a good camera if you have one then you know required decent batteries, storage (ok you have a hard dri've so that is sorted) but take into consideration that you will always get better results with a digicam than phone cameras and you can see that would be a waste of time for the time being.
There is an old saying "Jack of all trades, Master of none" and this seemes to hold true to the phone cameras. Don't get me wrong it would be nice to have it only and only if you have all the features of the stand alone one with big resolution and so on, heck I have a Nokia 6230 and like it very much but my old 3.2MP Cannon (by all means not the best and not the newest?in the world) gives me far better/superior results than the the one on the phone even can. What would be cool to have is a port where you can hook them both up and use the Mp3 players HDD to store (I know you can on some Creative players) your snaps without having to buy or have attachments, just plug a mini USB and you are off. Technology as always moves forward and an astonishing reate and new gadgets?come out?and quality improves, battery life lengthens and so on, so we might even see this happen. Ttill the time where they are on par with most consumer digicams?I will be?witholding in buying one.Message Edited by RobertM on 03-0-20062:57 PM
