Assessment Cycle problem (KSU5)

Hi experts!!!
I am trying to do an assessment cycle, but somehow not all the cost are being taken.
Only the real amounts are being taken. I need also to treat the real stadistic values.
Anyone can give me some advise?
Thanks in advance for your reply.

Hi Alejandro Garcia,
At the time of Allocation of costs (Distribution/Assessment etc), only real postings will be considered in the Sender object. Statistical postings are only for information purpose.
Pls try to understand the reason with the following example...
At the time of posting of an expense in FI, we will be able to select one Real object and two statistical Object. So, If you have selected Internal Order (which is real object) and one Cost Center, then, real posting will happen to Internal Order and Statistical posting to Cost Center.
But, if you want this statistical posting also to be considered at the time of assessment of cost from that cost center, then it would be duplication of the same cost which will finally reach Product.
I hope it is clear, please revert back for further explanation...

  • KSU5 Assessment cycle execution error

    Hi,
I am getting an error while executing the assessment cycle through KSU5.
I have defined the sender from one Cost center group and one cost element group. similarly assigned a receiver cost center group.
while executing the assessment cycle in test mode getting the error " .... does not include any senders.".
Can some one suggest the pre-requisites for KSU5.
    Thanks & Regards

    Hi
    1. Check Secondary Cost Element and its Category
    2. Assessment Cycle - Sender/Receiver Tab : Sender Cost Centre & Cost Elements Range From & To / Group, " which were not included "

  • Assessment Cycle: ERROR asking FI period needs to be open to run cycle

    Hi,
I'm trying to run the cost center assessment cycle using KSU5, but an error pops up asking the FI period needs to be open.
    This is what I did:
    1.       Just created two cost centers (one sender, one receiver).
    2.       Posted an entry using FB50 to one of the cost center (sender) [Expense GL a/c Debit, Bank account credit]
    3.       Created the assessment cycle
    4.       Blocked the FI period using OB52
    5.       Ran the test run u2013 worked perfectly (values all went correctly)
    6.       While running the Real run u2013 an error popped up, saying FI period needs to be opened.
Dont know why I'm getting this error. Would really appreciate if anyone could help.
    Thanks & rgds,
    Nashad

    Hi,
Thanks for your reply. But we know that FI period needs to be open. Just want to know if we could run the cycle without opening the FI period.
Eg. Our FI Period closes on the 4th of every month. We get all the SKFs for the cycles only on the 10th of each month. So, when we run the cycle FI period is already closed.
Is there no other option of running the cycle without opening the FI period?

  • Group Assessment cycles

    Hi Gurus,
Is it possible to create Group Assessment cycles and run them together at month-end?
    We are on SAP 4.7C.
    Pls reply.
    Thanks

    Hi,
I would re frame the question, the requirement is to run multiple assessment cycles together, when you go to an assessment cycle in KSU5, and on the top goto Extras --> Cycle --> Cycle run groups, you get the group the cycle belongs to. I can also create a group and assign multiple cycles to this group similar to a Cost Center Group.
Now is there a method I can run this cycle groups at once.
    Thanks.

  • Assessment Cycle(KSU5) - Allocating Cost for Only One Month

    Hi,
I want to allocate cost relating 2008 from cost centres to WBS.  For that I'm trying run the assessment cycle(ksu5).  The test results shows allocation of cost for the month of Sep2008. i.e  It doesn't allocate cost that are posted before sep and after september though the cost centre has costs from Apr 2008.  My Assessment cycle period starts from 01.04.2008 and is valid for the whole year till 31.03.2009.  I've 3 WBS elements to which the costs for the whole year has to be posted according to the no. of hours. Among 3WBS one is created in the month of Apr 2008 and the other is created in Aug 2008 and the last one is create in Dec 2008.
So Can anyone tell me why the cost is not posted for all the months.
    Thanks in Advance
    Harikrishnan L G

    Hi,
Please check the Cumulative indicator in the Assessment Cycle definition. If the Cycle is not cumulative then it would not include costs of earlier month for allocation.
Go to - KSU2 and in the Header screen you will find the check box called Cumulative.
While executing the cycle through KSU5 in the selection screen you will have to specify period from and period to. It will automatically consider all costs upto the period.
    Thanks,

  • Problem in Actual assessment cycle.

    Hi Team,
We are using assessment cycle to distribute the cost from utility cost center to production cost center, after cycle execution we found the cost in debit side of the production cost center with assessment cost element. And also we are using the substitution is that the cost which is coming on the assessment cost element will flow to FICO reconciliation GL. We created 5 sets of assessment cost element groups( depreciation secondary cost element group, Admin OH, Store spares, Salary wages & power & Fuel) which  correspond to five 9 series reconciliation accounts.
The 5 reconciliation GLu2019s are as follows:
    1. Depreciation                90102003
    2. Administrative overheads     90102004
    3. Store spares.                90102005
    4. Salary & wages                   90102006
    5. Power water & fuel.            90102007.
After assessment cycles when FI team runs the transaction F.01 for the above GLu2019s the cost is appearing. Which is the consolidated cost which is distributed from utility cost centers is there any way to get the primary cost element wise breakup of the above five heads. This is the requirement raised by the FI team kindly advice.
    Regards,
    Ravi.

    Hi Ravi,
have you come up with any solution?
I have found, we can use substitution rules in New GL- CO reconciliation to fix assessment issue. In fact, we have to maintain multiple substitution rules or table to get correct P&L by primary cost element. This is pretty much possible.
My issue is, we are using COPA. COPA dont have distribution option.
Let me know if anyone has better option than substitution. because I don't want to loose my primary cost element information.

  • Actual assessment cycles does not work

    Hello.
I have a problem with actual assessment cycles.
I use KSU5 to run one cycle and when I run it in test mode it says that there is a sender and a receiver and that there are no errors, but when I run it without test mode it says that there are no senders nor receivers and no errors appear
    Which could be the problem?
    Thanks a lot!!

    Hi,
    Try these following things :-
    a. Change the Receiving tracing factor in the header of the cycle from variable to fixed perct.
    b. Check whether GL is assigned in Tcode OK17.

  • COPA Assessment Cycle using KEU5 for multiple controlling areas

    Hello All,
There is an organization with operations in several countries. There is a separate controlling area for each country. There is one controlling area, for instance, for Germany and another for Netherlands.
A problem is encountered while executing transaction KEU5 for multiple controlling areas in parallel. For instance, when one user from Germany executes KEU5 for an assessment cycle for Germany controlling area and at the same time another user from Netherlands tries to execute KEU5 for a cycle for NL controlling area, the user from Netherlands encounters an error message u201C'Cycle XXXX 01.02.2008 cannot be started because run group 0000 is locked'.
Apparently SAP allows assessment cycles for exactly one controlling area to be executed together. This poses a problem since the organization plans to implement SAP in several other countries (There will be one separate controlling area for each country as per the organization structure adopted by the company).
Any ideas, views or suggestions on the aforesaid issue would be highly appreciated.
    Regards,
    Soumya

    Hi Soumya,
Did you find any text in SAP Documentation saying that "SAP does not allow cycles belonging to different controlling areas to be executed at the same time"...?
Pls find the following text from SAP Help...
Parallel Processing of Cycles of an Allocation Type
    Use
Parallel processing of cycles results in considerable time savings. To process cycles of one allocation type in parallel, they must be assigned to different cycle run groups.
You define the cycle run groups in the cycle header data. You also assign cycles to the cycle run groups in the header data.
To process the cycles of a cycle run group in parallel, start the cycles one after the other, if required, in different sessions.
You are carrying out a cross-company code cost accounting and want to perform the actual assessment in the individual company codes in parallel. Create a cycle run group for each company code and assign the appropriate cycles to these groups. You can then carry out the actual assessment in the individual company codes in parallel.
When you execute a cycle, you can start a consistency check. The system checks whether you are allowed to execute the selected cycles in parallel.
Though I didn't come across such requirement, I feel, my earlier suggestion will work out...

  • Is the Division(  i. e A/B = C ) is possible in SAP? thrw Assessment cycle?

Plant Name     Qty Produced (in Kgs)   Total Cost              Per Kg     Cost
    A             1000                      100000                         100

    D            1500                       450000                         300
    Requirement
    *     I need to get the cost per kg forr each plant is required in SAP
i.e Last Column results shoulh come in SAP
    *     Is there any possibility to maintain any Assessment Cycle to achieve this?
    *     Suggest me how to get those results in SAP
If possible What are the senders and receivers and Skfs/ Activity Types to be maintained..............?

    Hi
Assessment  cycles are used to transfer costs from one cost center to multiple cost centers (KSU5) or from a cost center to multiple PA segments (KEU5). You cannot use plants in an assessment cycle.
Maybe if the data you have given is available in COPA then you get get the required info using a formula in a KE30 report

  • Assessment Cycle for Planned Cost

    Hi,
I have production cost centers and dept cost centers for which cost center planning has been maintained in KP06. I have maintained assessment cycle for planned costs with planned skf. When I run the cycle, system is apportioning the costs based on the factors maintained.
However on execution, without test tun, the system is posting the costs to the receiver cost centers as Actual Costs and not Planned Costs..
Can anyone tell me what is the reason?

    Hi,
Have you created ur assessment cycle in T.Code: S_ALR_87005540 - Define Assessment for Plan cost (or) S_ALR_87005742 - Define Assessment for Actual cost.  Assessment cycle execution t.code. KSUB for Plant cost posting. and KSU5 for actual cost posting.
If you define cycle in S_ALR_87005540, Please check have u select Plan (or) Actual Radio button

  • Assessment cycles

    Hello all,
I have the following question regarding assessment cycles (KSU5) customized in KSU1 with Sender rule = 1.Posted amounts and Receive rule = 2. FIxed amounts.   The issue is when you execute the KSU5 and the cost center sender is lower than the rule, for example, cost center sender has 100 euros and the rule gets that the cost center receiver will have 200. The system does not check the fixed rule against the total amount from cost center sender, and it transfer 200 and not 100.
    Please, could you help me?
    Thanks for your attention.

    Hi,
What you have described is the standard behavior
Sender rule "posted amounts", receiver rule "fixed amounts"
The sender rule is not taken into account (nothing is read from the database). The fixed receiver amounts are credited to the sender with ALL cost elements of the segment definition. Assessment: the assessment cost element or the assessment cost elements of the allocation structure. Distribution: All cost elements of the segment definition for the sender in Sender/Receiver Tab.

  • CO Assessment Cycles

    Hi
I have an assessment cycle created which got 1 sender cost center and 4 receiver cost centers. The  receiver cost centers belong to 2 different profit centers. Apart from that we have New GL activated as well
When I execute the actual run for this cycle, it only generates a CO document but not a FI document. Since new GL is activated as far as I know there should be a FI document generated as well at the time of executing the actual CO assessment cycle (KSU5)
Please let me know as to why a FI document is not getting generated
    Thanks
    Arith

    Hi Arith
For that to happen, you must turn on the "Real time FI/CO reconciliation"
Set up a real time FI/CO reco variant in which you will choose the "Cross PC"postings. Also, assigna GL account in the account determination. Finally, assign the variant to your Company Code..
With this, you can achieve the desired result

  • Assessment Cycle in Profit Center

    Hi,
    Need urgent help.
I'm running an Assessment Cycle for Profit Center but every time system does not select any sender or receiver.
    Error message:
Cycle 8ATEST1, start date 20070401, does not include any senders.
    Message no. GA749
    Diagnosis
No senders were found for cycle 8ATEST1, starting date 20070401.
    System Response
It is no longer possible to create receivers and assign senders for the segment.
    Procedure
Check the definition of the cycle in the maintenance transaction for EC-PCA: Actual Assessment. No valid sender cost centers could be found to match your selection.
If you use the sender rules "Posted amounts" or "Posted quantities", check whether records exist in the database for the criteria you entered (cost element, version...)
During indirect activity allocation with the sender rule "posted quantities", you should also note that only the difference between the planned/posted activity allocation and the scheduled activity quantity is allocated. If you entered activity types as sender, you should at this point also check the activity type category. For those quantities posted with an activity type of category 1 (manual entry, manual allocation) no indirect activity allocation is possible.
    1. If this is an allocation in the FI/FI-SL area, the problem could also be due to the inheritance logic for FI-SL totals tables, whose "Inheritance of sender based on the receiver" indicator is activated in the "Partner object update" view (T811U-INHERSRC). These are tables that were installed before Release 4.6A.
Use transaction GCA8 to check this, and see the section on:
    Inheritance Logic for Allocations
then correct the affected cycle, if required.
    Pls help urgently.
    Regards,
    Vikas Malhotra

    Hello ,
Did you double checked if any postings occurred to the respective profit centers in the cycle for that particular period you are executing??
    Thanks,

  • Number range error in Assessment cycle in CO-PA

    Dear All,
During performing "Actual Assessment cycle in CO-PA" , system gives the error message
"An error occurred when the SAP System attempted to determine the document number. No interval was found for number range object RK_BELEG, sub-object 1000".
When I checked in KEN1 (Document ranges for actual posting) & also checked in
    KANK, it is defined
Can some one can explain me how to re-solve the same.
    Rgds
    SMK Ganesh

    Hi,
Please, check transaction KANK, under menu path of SPRO:
    Controlling -> General Controlling -> Organization ->
Maintain number ranges for controlling documents
Choose Overview and find the corresponding CO area.
You will see that there are several business transactions not assigned
to any number range. One of them should be KSPA Assessment to CO-PA.
Please, assign this business transaction (and the ones required for other processes) to a number range.
    Then, run again KEU5.
If the above does not help then check if problem is that you use too many receiver fields in copa cycle.
The number range object is derived from the co-area and if you are using more than 15 single value receiver fields the system wont consider the settings "behind" the co-area.
    regards
