Assigning Assets to an employee who's status is "Inactive"

Hello Experts,
We have an employee who is on LOA FMLA.  We are unable to assign a software license under asset management to this employee as a result of this employees "Inactive" status".  Would anyone happen to know what SAP's best practice is to handle such a case?  Do we have to perform a return to work personnel action just to assign a software license?

When you created the Accrual Plan the application would have created an Accrual Element, i'm sorry i can't quite remember the naming format of the element.
However you need to attach this element to your employee from the assignment, once you attach this element the employee assignment has been enrolled in the accrual plan.

    Hi,
    we download employees from R3 HR into CRM. By mistake, some duplicates BP were created. we want to change the assignment with the BP employee in CRM and the employee in R3. In other word, to remove the personnel number ID stored in CRM and to add this personnel ID to others BP in CRM.
    For example:
    In CRM,  BP 100 does not have a personnel number assigned to his employee role.
    In CRM, BP 101 (duplicate of BP 100) is assigned to the personnel number 345 from the employee in R3.
    We'd like to assign the personnel number 345 to BP 100 and remove the link with HR in BP 101.
    is it possible?  where is this assignment stored - In R3&HR or in CRM?
    can you guys share your experience on how to resolve this

    We can assing the CC in two ways.
    1. is for position.
    2. or for a Org unit.
    In your case if it is for Position. GOTO PP02 enter the details as
    Plan Version    HI
    Object Type     s
    Object ID       50018133
    Object abbr.
    Infotype        1001
    Subtype         A011
    Planning status 1
    Validity        06/23/2008  to     12/31/9999
    Data sample.
    Then goto change and change the CC. this will also updates the IT0001.
    If not, You can also change through Org unit.
    Where goto PPos_old> select the org unit> then goto staff assignments> select the required position> and there is a option called goto from top menu> there you can check accoutn assignment>  there you will get diff screen to be displayed--> there select the position if you want to change and select the option maste cost center and change the CC by giving dates, this will also updates the IT0001.

  • How to identify the employee who logged-in using a view in peoplesoft?

    I have a View in peoplesoft, that says
    SUPERVISOR_ID = ' ' somewhere in the SQL. How do I keep this dynamic so that, it will identify the employee who logs into the system and assigns that id to supervisor_id field.
    I know we can use %EmployeeID in peoplecode.

    Peopletools has this built in out of the box. Add field OPRID to the record and set it as key and not a listitem and Peopletools will automatically add a where clause to the view based on the current user.
    After this change the view sql to join to Oprid.
    If you do not want to add OPRID field you can use a dynamic view to fill the supervisorid with %employeeid.
    If thid is a search record you can also use SearchInit event to set supervisorid to %employeeid.
    Al lot of differt possibilities, depends one what you want to use.

    I am trying to find people who are missing IT 0023 (Previous employer) and IT 0094 (Residence status). How do I find the employees who are missing infotypes. I can easily find people with those infotypes.

    will give you a hint using data analysis perspective, hope it might be useful for you.
    in data analysis you can get total number of employees (personnel numbers) who have certain characteristics (active employee for example) from PA0000 and then you can compare vs number of employees (personnel numbers) in the record infotypes you want to check.
    download records from PA0023 an PA0094. you may process the data using pivot table. then you can compare which personnel number does not have record in related infotypes.
    use tcode SE16 Data Browser or use sap query

    See whether employee number has been locked for payroll or there are dates in the fields for retroactive calculation etc.

  • FI-AA: Assignment asset class to chart of depreciation

    Hi all,
    does anybody know whether it's possible to assign asset classes to a specific chart of depreciation (or let's say to delete this assignment)?
    The background of the question is the following: Some asset classes should not be used in some company codes. All these company codes use the same chart of depreciation, so I thought there must be a possibility to delete the assignment of this asset class to this chart of depreciation. Unfortunately, I haven't found this setting in the IMG.
    The SAP Message no. AC 012 tells for example, that there is an assignment "asset class to chart of depreciation". This is the message:
    In order to be able to assign chart-of-depreciation-dependent data to asset class 120204, the following conditions have to be met. You have to have already
    1. Defined at least two active charts of depreciation
    2. Assigned asset class 120204 to more than one chart of depreciation
    However, at the moment this asset class is only assigned to chart of depreciation 1.
    As we have definitely more than one active chart of depreciation, there must be this assignment, but how can I change it?
    I've seen that I can set a block for an asset class in a chart of depreciation in transaction OAYZ (ANKB-XSPEB / Indicator: Block asset class chart of depreciation-specifc). But I think that I will still see the asset class in the match code search (F4) when I set this indicator.
    Does anybody know how I can delete an asset class form a chart of depreciation so that it won't be found via match code search? I've checked almost the whole FI-AA tree but haven't found a solution...

    thanks for your answer. As far as I can see, the option "chart of depreciation only" in transaction AM05 has the same effect than the parameter "chart of depreciation" in transaction OAYZ.
    As I receive a transport request via transaction AM05, it seems that this changes the same customizing table.
    Fortunately, all company codes in this chart of depreciation need the same settings, so a validation rule seems not to be necessary.
    It's just strange that there is no possibility to edit the assignment asset class to chart of depreciation in customizing (I think the assignment to all asset classes in the system will be created automatically when I copy the chart of depreciation). I think the only possibility would be to edit the respective tables manually (what I definitely won't do).
    Another strange thing I see in the system: There are 2 asset classes 120203 and 120204, which are both set up equally. When I try to block these in AM05, I'll receive the error message AA 111 for asset class 120204, while the asset class 120203 can be blocked without problems. When I use matchcode search F4, I can see 120203 while 120204 is not found.
    Message AA111 is the following:
    Chart of dep. 100 does not exist in class 120204 (Create chart of deprec.)
    Diagnosis
    Chart of depreciation 100 does not exist in class 120204.
    Procedure
    Create the chart of depreciation 100 for asset class 120204 using the transaction 'Create asset class' and the function 'Create chart of dep.'.
    There is the assignment asset class to chart of depreciation.
    When I check asset class 120204 in OAYZ (Determine Depreciation Areas in the Asset Class) I'll get the following message (I don't get this message when I check 120203):
    Deprec. area 50 was changed and deactivated. Please check.
    Message no. AC 631
    Diagnosis
    Depreciation area 50 was added to asset class 120204 because this depreciation area was newly created in Customizing.
    System Response
    The system adds the new depreciation area to the asset class, but its status is 'deactivated.'
    Procedure
    Check if this action by the system is correct. Maintain the depreciation areas in the asset class, and remove the 'deactivated' indicator there, if you choose.
    For sure, depreciation area 50 was not newly created in customizing (as stated in the error message), as this depreciation are is in production for years! There must be another reason for this.
    However, this says to me that the assignment asset class to chart of depreciation is created by SAP automatically and this can't be influenced.
    Therefore I'll just block the asset class in the chart of depreciation with the disadvantage, that I'll see this asset class when I use the matchcode search F4 (e.g. in AS01). This seems to be the only solution.

    Link photo to personnel number
    Transaction code OAAD
    Click on the Create – Store and Assign button. Enter Business Object PREL and Document Type HRICOLFOTO. Click on create(F8).
    Enter the Personnel Number of the employee you want to link the photo to. Choose also the infotype that you wish the photo to be displayed on (not sure how relevant this is. It works if you use 0002 but should also work if left blank. Suspect is only relevant if you wanted to store different photos for different infotypes)
    Click on Continue.
    Enter the path and filename of the photo. The dropdown will allow you to navigate to the appropriate directory.
    SAP will notify you that the Stored document is created successfully and you end up with something like:
    If you get an error 401 to do with missing authorisations, then try and redo the above step. It often only happens the first time you try and load the photo.

    Hi Sunder,
    The BAdI that needs to be implemented is OTM_EMPL_ORG_ASSIGNMENT, provided you use the new IDOC ODT_EMPL and report OTM_TRIGGER_EMPL_REPL_CE. (For the old IDOC there is a similar BAdI HROTM_EMPL_ORGANIZATION_FILTER.)
    If you already implemented the BAdI in ERP to add the dummy cost center assignment to the employee you just need to create the dummy cost center in CfTE.
    This can be done under
         Master Data Replication -> Manual Replication -> Cost Centers
    There you just can create a file and fill it manually directly within the transaction. Then it needs to be processes and afterwards you should go to the Import Monitor for Cost Centers and Click on button Replicate All. If you filled everything correctly after some minutes the dummy cost center should be created. You can control this under Display -> Cost Centers in the adminstrator cockpit.

    Ex. He has gross of 9400 and /3EA is 2729 and the value of contribution is 45. But ESI is not deducting.
    But for other employee same salary and he has joined on 16 march,for him ESI is deducting.

  • How can I file a complaint about an employee who has been messing with me on purpose (on trades)?

    Hello. What's the best way to file a complaint against an employee who basically tried to ruin all game trades for me?
    She just stands there in the customer service section doing nothing, she paces back and forth while customers are waiting, and she only takes calls to avoid talking to customers in person. She messes up trades on purpose.
    I had a problem with a trade-in once with an awful supervisor and I called the Executive Resolution Team and the lady on the line just told me that they would call the store to hear the "other side" of the story. Honestly, I just told her what happened.
    I went in there for a trade-in earlier that day and the woman taking my trade refused to enter my phone number for my bonus. She flat out refused it five or six times. It was insane. I explained to her how the system works and she called her supervisor. The supervisor acted like I was trying to steal the bonus even though I paid for the subscription. I politely explained to her how it works and I told her all the things that came with the subscription. I told her that all they need to do is input my number in the correct space and it should apply automatically.
    She didn't believe me but she said that I could get a discount higher than what I asked to get as the bonus and I told her that it was actually lower because it was due to the base. She said it's fine and I said that I wasn't planning to buy anything that day. I just wanted to clear some space and get some credit in case there was a decent online sale later that week. She said that she could only give me a discount on something and I said, "Then can I get an Amazon card?" and she said something like "Go get it."
    I came back with the card and she gives me a discount lower than what she said she would give me, but it's still a little bit higher than my bonus, so I let it go.
    I went home and I had dinner and I got some more games ready and I went back to the store. A different lady was there and she got through most of my trade faster than the woman who kept refusing to enter my number for my bonus. She also couldn't get the bonus to work and she gave up on the first try so she calls a supervisor. I just wanted to sweep up all my games and run because I knew that she was calling the same supervisor, but I stood there because I didn't do anything wrong.
    At this point, the woman who keeps giving me trouble in my recent trips there appears and like always, she's doing nothing. Anyway, let's just call this woman L. The supervisor is K. K walked back behind the counter and she says something like, "You again? No. You're not doing this again." I say, "Doing what?" I feel insulted but I tell her that all they need to do is enter my number in the correct place for Gamer's Club Unlocked. L heard this but she just turned around like she didn't hear anything and she's busy. She did this because she's the one who got the registration card for Gamer's Club Unlocked for me. Back when she did that, she mentioned that she was from the Gaming Department. She knew that I was right but she let the supervisor get aggressive with me.
    K kept threatening to cancel my trade. I kept trying to reason with her. All she needed to do was her job. I told her how to figure it out. She kept repeating, "I will cancel it." I said, "cancel it." She canceled it and she had this egomaniac look on her face like, "I won."
    I take my games and I look back and L is pacing back and forth like a beheaded chicken.
    Anyway, for the Titanfall promo, I go into the store and I want to trade two copies of Call of Duty Ghosts and a copy of Thief. I got a copy of Ghosts from a friend who was busier than me. I was very busy those few days, so I went on the last day after classes. I have evening classes, so I got there near closing time. L rejected one of my copies of Ghosts and I asked her why and she said it was store policy even though it's not. She just cost me $11 or something because of the non-promo and promo difference.
    She insisted on doing the Thief and Ghosts trades separatetly for no reason even though I insisted that she do them together so she will only need to enter GCU once and I only need to sign twice and I get one gift card. She's just acting like a jerk, so I said, "whatever". She asked me for my number for the GCU bonus after I tell her about it. It's input and it's in the right place. It was done on the first try. She finished the Ghosts trade and I signed everything but she wouldn't give me my gift card. She started the second trade and she asked me for my number and she input it. I signed the pad and as I'm signing the paper that should be correct because she asked me for my number, I notice that my bonus is missing and I strike out the signature. I told her and she already knew. She was just shocked that I struck out the signature. She said that there was no prompt for it. She obviously lied. She asked me for my number and she input it. I told her, "You should have said something." She just took a relaxed pose and she told me that it's already tendered so she can't undo it. I told her that it's not final until I sign the final paper. I knew that I was pushing my luck because it was the last day and it was near closing time, but I kept telling her that she could fix it.
    She just wanted me to cave at that point, so she says that she will go ask a supervisor about it and she just walked into a room and she walked out in a few seconds saying the same thing. She just pretended to ask about it. She said that I can call the customer service line and get the bonus added. I signed it and she gave me the two cards. Oh, and when she left to "ask a supervisor", she took the card that was already legally mine with her. I had two cards, so I wanted to combine them. I took them to the register with a minute or two to spare and it turned out that they could not be combined because they were store credit cards and not gift cards, like it states on the website.
    So I want to file a complaint against her now and I want to get the bonus she took from me. What's the best way to do that?

    You assign asset GL accounts in AO90 like acquisition, accumulated dep, dep expense, loss on disposal etc.... it's per account determination which is assigned to your asset class.

  • Negative reporting - Show employees who haven't attended a course

    I have two infocube, one containing all employees within the company and on containing courses (incl employee participant information).
    Now I would like to create a query which shows employees which havent attended a specific cause. It should be possible to select the course in the variable screen and then get the list of employees which havent attended the course.
    How can I do that?

    Hi Torben.
    I think I made a mistake with constant selection on 0employee - it should be a constant selection for course-ID and a count of 0employee in both cubes, because, IF you have attended a course, you will be in BOTH cubes, so the count will be greater than 1. If you have not attended a course, you will only exist in the "all employees, no course info"-cube and the count will be exactly 1.
    Also, I think you would have to utilize exception aggregation for the 0employees in your counter, to count them correctly for any selection of time, costcenter, etc. (In 7.0 you can use a calculated kf for this, in 3.5 you need to use an infoobject just for this)
    In the query, make two restricted key figures, one counting the employees in each cube (restriciton on inforprovider). Use constant selection on emplty course-ID selection to count employees in the "all employees, no course info"-cube. Put a variable for course-ID in the other RKF, to let users select a specific course.
    Then add the two RKFs in a calculated key figure and make a condition on the calculated key figure = 1 (set it to evaluate for employee only, I think). Hide the two restricted key figures.
    Put 0employee in the rows.
    Now the query should return only the employees who did not attend a specific course. You can add variables for other common dimensions, fx time, costcenter, etc. If you want to drill on the course-ID, fx in the rows after employee to see who attended what, you need to switch off the condition.
    Well, it should be possible to make it work that way and I hope the above will help to get you there.

    I have a client requirement that payroll should be processed only for those persons for whom ID number (IT0185-ST01) is available. I am trying to do it for Portugal Payroll.
    I activated P0185 function in PE04 for Portugal and created 2 rules:

    And I put the rules in sequence in the scheme. But the function P0185 doesn't accept rules.
    How do I block the processing of payroll for employees who do not have infotype 0185 subtype 01?

    if you are not sure about the linking i suggest to just show all roles associated to all the employees,
    group by employee
    create true/false formula for the role_ids  where ONLY your 20 role is TRUE per employee
    then exclude all false - that should give you only the employees that are missing that particular role.

    I'm trying to create a report that lists all employees who DO NOT have a certain pay rate role type set up.  An employee can have multiple pay rate roles - for example: chargeable miles, non-chargeable miles, subsistence, etc.
    I want to identify all those employees who do not have, say, subsistence yet set up.
    I joined the employee table to the employee rates table. The employee_role_id=20 is the particular rate role value that I am interested in. I want to only list those employees who do not have rate of role type 20 set up. That way I can go and set one up for these employees.  At present, I am using selection criteria where employee_role_id=20. This brings back only those employees that have an employee_role_id of 20 setup. I would like to do the inverse but setting <>20 only screens out those roles with value 20 and displays all of the rest of the pay role values for each employee.
    Any help is appreciated.

    if you are not sure about the linking i suggest to just show all roles associated to all the employees,
    group by employee
    create true/false formula for the role_ids  where ONLY your 20 role is TRUE per employee
    then exclude all false - that should give you only the employees that are missing that particular role.

    We want to assign Asset Number along with Cost Center as an additional Account Assignment Object in our Depreciation Run. For this we have maintained Asset as an active object and assigned it to the Depreciation Area 01 and activated it for all Transaction type "*".
    However, when we see the FI Document Posting, we get Cost Center number from the Asset Master record posted to Depreciation account but a "*" comes in the field of Asset Number in the FI Document? Is it possible to have asset number also in the FI document?

    Thats standard behaviour
    Its not possible because, one consolidated document is posted in FI for lots of assets.. The posting happens in a batch mode.. thats why, the Asset No is displayed as *
    For Asset wise depreciation reports, you can see reports like S_P99_41000192 - Posted depreciation by asset and posting period  and S_ALR_87010175 - Posted depreciation, related to cost centers
