Assigning infoset to sapquery
I have copied a production sapquery to a custom query to make modifications. i have also created a custom infoset. when I look at my custom query inSQ01, it displays the production infoset. I cannot find where or how to change my custom query to point to my custom infoset? If someone could please let me know if I missed a step in the creation of either the infoset or the sapquery which is causing this.
thanks in advance for your help

Hi there. I made a copy of 01 Query from /SAPQUERY/AM usergroup.
But now I've got a problem because there is still a /SAPQUERY/AM01 InfoSet seen as source of new query.
Where can I change that source InfoSet to my own InfoSet? I'd be thankful for help. Greetings. P.Hi,
Sorry to say that its not possible. You can change your query after copying from the standard one. But the the infoset assigned to the query cannot be changed.

CR 2008 unable to retrieve InfoSets from SAP
Hi all,
We have a working connection of CR 2008 to SAP Tables, Functions and Clusters, but the SAP InfoSet connectivity fails to display available infoSets in SAP. The connectivity to SAP InfoSet DB is working fine and we can see both Classical and Global infoset under SAP InfoSet and then below Classical InfoSet and Global InfoSet there is no further entries.
Surely, this is not an auth issue since SAP Tables and clusters are accessible but only the InfoSets are not reachable.
Please suggest if you have any possible root cause in mind.
Regards. The issue is resolved. This happened because the CR user logging in to ECC server had no user group assigned to which any InfoSet belong. Thus, by creating a new User Group in SQ01 and assigning required users and InfoSets we were able to retrieve assigned InfoSets in CR.
Thanks to Ingo for his previous post where he pointed out this. Following is the post that helped resolving this issue.

abeehsHi,
Please follow the full process ..
Most easiest way to create
Decide on the various Infotypes we want to make the query. Decide on the area where we want to query i.e Global area or Standard area. Standard area is client specific and globel area will include all clients.
Menu : HR u2013 PM u2013 Admn - Information System - Adhoc Query
Select area standard and select the user group already created
Creation of new query :
TC SQ03 - Select Environment u2013 Select Standard Area - Enter -- If new user group is to be created, enter name of the user group, click on create and enter necessary information and exit after saving
TC SQ02 - Enter name of the Infoset u2013 Create u2013 enter name of Infoset - Data source -- > Table join by basis table u2013 give name of table e.g pa0000 - Enter - Click on insert table if we want to include more tables u2013 give name of table one by one and after finishing, place cursor on the joining lines and right click to delete unwanted relationships - check - and go back - field groups - include all table fields - click on generate button - go out
TC SQ03 - Select user group - eg. Payroll
Infoset - Enter name of newly created Infoset
Assign users and Infosets - Assign infosets - put tick on payroll - save and go back
TC PAAH - Expand the nodes and put tick on relevant fields depending upon necessity
Save the query by giving the same name as infoset for easyness..

Greetings Experts,
I am seeking some guidance in transporting an InfoSet Query that was created in the DEV system. Here are the steps I followed to create the query in the Standard Area:
1. SQ03 - Create user group.
2. SQ02 - Create InfoSet.
3. SQ03 - Assign InfoSet and user IDs to user group.
4. PAAH - Create an InfoSet query with the specified InfoSet
Now I have the user group, InfoSet, and query sitting in the DEV system but am unsure how to transport to PREPRD. I did some research and someone pointed to using SQ02.
In SQ02, I try transporting the User Group only (Import option = REPLACE) and it provides a transport number. The issue is that when I check the transport in SE10, I find something like this:
SIDK904259 Transport for ABAP Query
Object List of Request
Table Contents
AQTDB
AQSIDK904259 *
This was not what I had expected and I am unsure what this means (and not very comfortable transporting this across). If someone can shed some light into the meaning of this and how I can possibly transport my InfoSet query across systems, that would be much appreciated.
Apologies go out in advance if this is the incorrect section but I chose the one which seemed to fit closest to this issue.

Query Infoset not available in SQ01
Hi all
I have created an infoset in SQ02 and assigned it to a usergroup. If i look into the assigned Infosets in SQ03 or either from SQ02 itself, this infoset is being available in that assigned usergroup. But, when I go to SQ01 for creating a query and select the usergroup assigned, I am not able to find the infoset which I created. I have tried to extract it in several ways but of no use. Can someone please tell me the reason behind this behavior?
Points assured.
Thanks and Regards
ChandraHi,
Check whether you have assigned a usergroup (create usergroup:SQ03) for the infoset.
Go to SQ02, choose the button 'Role/User group Assignment', here select your usergroup and save.
Generate infoset.
Then go to SQ01 and create query, when you choose the 'Create' button, it will show the corresponding infoset. -
Adding extra Field to a Infoset Query
Hi Experts,
I need to add an extra field to a SAP Query(infoset). SInce the code uses a dynamic program call, how do I add my code . Can I have some example code used to add extra field to a SAP QueryHi Mithun and gurus,
My code is working now for these 3 new additional fields. The thing is it works if these fields were selected solo. but if all of these 3 or 2 of it simultaneously, an error occurs.
Error when generating the report (see long text)
Message no. AQ_AD_HOC221
Diagnosis
The report cannot be generated because the internal description is invalid or incomplete, or because the selection screen is too large.
Regenerate the assigned InfoSet, and read the log. If the InfoSet is OK, make sure that at least one field is given as output.
If you used the 'Refresh' icon to start the query, use the 'Output' menu option to execute the query. This gives you a full screen display of the data.
If an output was generated, the query cannot work with actual data in the construction view. In this case, always use the 'Output' function to execute the query.
Procedure
If the selection screen is too large, you need to reduce the number of your selections.
Make sure that the assigned InfoSet is correct. The name of the assigned InfoSet is stored in the menu option 'Extras -> Template Information'.
Output at least one field. Otherwise you will not be able to save or generate reports.
If you do not have this problem, execute the query using the 'Output' function.
Otherwise, there is an error in the InfoSet Query.
>>>I checked and the code seems fine at least. I think there must be something I need to configure. I tried the SEQUENCE for Codes but nothing happens..
I hope you could helop me with these..Thanks a lot!!! -
Hi,
I have heard, that SQ02 (creating Infosets) has several security holes (regarding authority). Does anybody know about it and could specify these holes?
Thanks
MarkusHi
Steps on how to proceed to create a Query:
ADHOC QUERY
A query can be created to extract information from master records i.e Infotypes. For example, by creating a query , the data relating to an employee contained in various Infotypes can be extracted.
Proceedure :
Decide on the various Infotypes we want to make the query. Decide on the area where we want to query i.e Global area or Standard area. Standard area is client specific and globel area will include all clients.
Menu : HR PM Admn - Information System - Adhoc Query
Select area standard and select the user group already created
Creation of new query :
TC SQ03 - Select Environment Select Standard Area - Enter -- If new user group is to be created, enter name of the user group, click on create and enter necessary information and exit after saving
TC SQ02 - Enter name of the Infoset Create enter name of Infoset - Data source -- > Table join by basis table give name of table e.g pa0000 - Enter - Click on insert table if we want to include more tables give name of table one by one and after finishing, place cursor on the joining lines and right click to delete unwanted relationships - check - and go back - field groups - include all table fields - click on generate button - go out
TC SQ03 - Select user group - eg. Payroll
Infoset - Enter name of newly created Infoset
Assign users and Infosets - Assign infosets - put tick on payroll - save and go back
TC PAAH - Expand the nodes and put tick on relevant fields depending upon necessity
Save the query by giving the same name as infoset for easyness..
Use
The InfoSet Query is designed for reporting on data stored in flat tables. It is particularly useful for reporting on joins for master data and joins for ODS objects.
Prerequisites
You must take the following steps before you can create Infoset queries:
· Set up Roles for the InfoSet Query
· Process Classic InfoSets and Assign Roles
Procedure
Define the InfoSet Query
1. Call the Query Builder. There are various ways of doing this:
To call the Query Builder from the corresponding role menu or from the BEx Browser, double-click on the InfoSet Query entry in the menu that is created when you set up a role.
Developers and testers of Classic InfoSets are able to call up the Query Builder directly from the Classic InfoSet overview in the Administrator Workbench.
If several Classic InfoSets are assigned to a role, and one of them has been identified as a standard Classic InfoSet, this Classic InfoSet is used as a template when the query is called up. To change the template, choose Create New Query Classic InfoSet Selection. Any of the Classic InfoSets that are assigned to the role can be the new template.
2. Define your query. The procedure is similar to the procedure for defining queries in the BEx Analyzer.
Transfer individual fields from the field groups you have selected in the Classic InfoSet into the preview. To do this, use the drag and drop function, or highlight the relevant fields in the field list.
Use either of these two methods to select any fields you want to use as filters. These fields are displayed in the Selections area of the screen (top right).
When you are preparing the query, only example data is displayed in the Preview. When you choose the Output or Refresh function, the actual results are displayed on the same screen.
3. Execute the query.
4. Choose from the following options:
Ad hoc reporting
You do not want to save the query for later. Save the Query Builder without saving.
Reusable queries
You want to save the query, because you want to work on it later, or use it as a template. Use either the Save or the Save as function to save the query.
In addition to the Classic InfoSets that you assigned to the role, you are also able to use the query as a template. It is not possible, however, to access the query from other roles.
After you save the query, a second dialog box appears, asking you if you want to save the query as a separate menu entry within the role. If you choose this option, you are able to start the query directly from the user menu or from the BEx Browser. It is also possible to use the Role Maintenance transaction (PFCG) to save this kind of role entry.
Choose Menu ® Refresh to display the query.
If you want to change or delete the saved query, use the Edit function from the context menu in the BEx Browser to call the maintenance tool for InfoSet Queries with this query as a template.
InfoSet Query on the Web
It is possible to publish each InfoSet Query on the Web. There are the following display options:
· MiniALV for creating MiniApps in the SAP Workplace
· MidiALV without selection options
· MidiALV with selection options
Both the MiniALV and the MidiALV allow you to switch between various selection/layout variants. The publishing screen for the data is adjusted individually using URL parameters.
The following prerequisites are necessary for security reasons:
Releasing the query for the Web
Specifying an authorization group for the corresponding Classic InfoSet
Call up transaction RSQ02 InfoSet: Entry, and choose Go to ® Additional Functions ® Web Administration of Queries. Make the corresponding entries.

Limitations of Infoset query:
1)Atleast one common infoboject should be present in all the data targets.
2)In BI 7.0 you can include the infocubes also at infoset, but the limitation is max two number of Cubes.
3)According to some join condition only you have to buidl the infoset.

Hello All,
could anyone help me in creating a new query SQVI.
I am trying to create a view where i want to get a report which has the following fields. I want to get this information where i used company code as the selection fields.
Period: Fiscal year
WBS
Purchase order
Value -Amount
Cost center
Profit center
Network
Sales order
Activity type and activity.
Thanks for all the helpIn SQVI under the Infosets use /SAPQUERY/FIBR, it has all the fields you require. Assign yourself in a user group and then assign the Infoset to the user group. After that you can create a new query once these fields are available. If you need to add more fields make a Z of the infoset and add it to the Field Group to make it available in the query.

Problem with a Currency field in Adhoc Query - HR
Hi,
I have an Adhoc query that uses Custom infotype fields (Z infotype and z fields).
The currncy field also has a reference field in the infotype (of type waers).
Wehen we try to get the ouput of the Adhoc Query it gives following error:
The report cannot be generated because the internal description is invalid or incomplete, or because the selection screen is too large.
Regenerate the assigned InfoSet, and read the log. If the InfoSet is OK, make sure that at least one field is given as output.
If you used the 'Refresh' icon to start the query, use the 'Output' menu option to execute the query. This gives you a full screen display of the data.
If an output was generated, the query cannot work with actual data in the construction view. In this case, always use the 'Output' function to execute the query.
I have already tried a number of solutions:
1> Regenerate the infoset...
2> make the field as an additional field and write my own code for it (the error comes before the code as i kept a breakpoint but it stopped before that)
if i add other fields of this infoset instead of this field, then those appear in the output.
Any solutions ??
thanks in advance,
