ATP check at order level and delivery level

Hello SAP Gurus,
We are implementing ATP ( Available to promise ) check for the product lines of our client.
Client is asking for comparative benefits if we implement the check at order level or at delivery level . Which would be most beneficial .....activating check at Sales order level OR at delivery level?
Kindly help me by sharing your thoughts or any through any standard help available on SAP site.
Thanks and Regards,
Abhijeet

Its always better to have the best of both the worlds.
Have ATP both at order and delivery level. Its important at order level since you would like to give the customer a confirmed date and quantity when he places the order. It ensures that you do not over commit or under commit the customer.
ATP at delivery level is, i think, should be a must which would prevent creating ambiguous deliveries with huge quantities even if the stocks are not there and then getting stuck during goods issue. Also, it might happen that delivery is created lot later than when the SO gets created and in the meantime stock position might have got changed. A lot of rescheduling and manual backorder processing keeps happening and you can never be sure if a stock that was booked by a sales order would still be there with it.

  • Reinitialize Sales Orders, Billing and Delivery (11, 12 & 13)

    Hi,
Due to continues rollouts we need to reinitialize Sales Orders, Billing and Delivery do-cuments from R/3 into BW.
This requires us to delete all loaded data, logs, queues etc. on the BW side - Fair enough.
The real challenge come as we need to run the transactions OLI7BW(order), OLI8BW (billing), OLI9BW (deliveries) on the R3 side in order to fill the setup tables. Here we need to switch the "block all orders" on in order to ensure that no new documents are created while load-ing.
In relation to the above situation I have a couple of questions:
Is there no way of doing this in a more "online" fashion?
What transactions are actually blocked by flicking the "block all orders"?
    Thanks in advance

    Hi Michael,
I've seen this process accomplished without blocking orders, but instead by blocking all transactions that may in any way lock an order or related sales document.  Also, you can dramatically speed up the process of gathering the old documents by running multiple batch jobs (with different document number ranges) at the same time.  In this case, I believe you want to "uncheck" the "New run" flag.  I've seen runtimes for this reduced from over 24 hours to under 4 hours.  The important thing is that you don't want to have ANY activity that modifies or locks order documents until after the date and time of termination that you specified, otherwise you will lose data on your transfer to BW.

  • Move Order lines and Delivery Detail lines - Relationship

    Hi All,
Is there a one - to - one realtionship between Move Order Line and Delivery Detail Line?
i.e., Each Move Order line will correspond to only one Delivery Details line Record?
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Gowri

    Hello,
There is a one - to - many relationship between Move Order Line and Delivery Detail Line when you split lines in delivery.
    select * from mtl_material_transactions t you have source_id.
    select * from WSH_DELIVERABLES_v t you have move_order_id.

  • ATP Check include in MRP and Exclude on Process order

    Dear all,
We have a situation if we include reservations, deliveries and dependent requirements in ATP check in OPJJ, the system behaviour is that it includes all of them during MRP run. On process order level if we perform ATP check the system shows that all materials are available as it includes the dependent requirements and deliveries as well. we want to exclude dependent requirements and deliveries from ATP check on process order level so that it can only consider the quantities that are available in stock. and system will block the release of process order in case of short fall. as system includes dependent requirements and deliveries as well it always shows the msg that all material are available. Plz help and reply soon...... any suggestions or work arounds are always well come ..............

    Hi
as i understand from ur question u dont want to considered dependent requrement and delivaries for
this go to t code OPJJ and do not select dependent requrement and delivaries tick.
after that go to t code OPJK and select material avalability as -03-No creation if material is missing
    hope this will help u

  • CRM ATP Checking using R/3 & Immediate Delivery for Sales Order Type in R/3

    We use CRM 4.0 and R/3 6.4.
I've configured CRM to do ATP Checking using R/3.  The ATP Checking works fine if I change the Sales Order Type in R/3 to NOT create a delivery immediately.
I'm trying to find out if the combination of turning on CRM ATP using R/3 and Create Delivery Immediately for a Sales Order in R/3 are supposed to work properly together.
If anyone knows and or has this working, I'd like to know.
    Thanks.
    Donna

    Hi ,
I am working with R/3 and I have the same problem.
Complete delivery is flowing down from the customer master for all order.
And then we have items on order which have different shipping point.
They all fail in background delivery and give the error ' customer requested complete delivery'.
Is there anyway to override this?
Any help will be really appreciated.

  • ATP Check - Purchase Order Option Includes Qty on Inbound Delivery

We are on ECC 6.0 and we recently turned on purchase orders in our ATP check (and turned off replenishment lead time).  We have PO's turned on just we can see the PO due date from the ATP proposal screen, not to actually confirm against that PO qty.
What we have found is that as soon as an inbound delivery is created for that PO, it considers that material to be available and automatically confirms the qty.  When you look at ATP quantities, the inbound delivery is showing as a shipping notification.  What's puzzling to me is that there is a totally seperate option in the checking rule for shipping notifications.
We have found a temporary workaround, but I am just trying to understand if this is a bug or if this is the way that SAP intended for it to work... just so I know which way to pursue this.  Thanks.

    Hi,
In T.code OVZ9, for your availability checking rule and Availability check combination, you need to select value X or A, in the field Incl. release order requirements.

  • Item Category check on Order Level

    Dear Friends!
I want to restrict the item category on order level or disable the fields so that, no one can change the item category.
    Please share your experience!
    Regards
    Anwer Waseem

    Hello Anwar,
The Item category is determined using certain criteria defined in the transaction code VOV4. Here maintain the sales document for which you want a particular item category, Item category group from the material master and the item category that you need in the sales order. DO NOT maintain anything in the manual item category filed. If this is maintained then the user will be able to change the item category at the sales order level.
    Hope this will help you.

  • ATP check by valuation type and batches???

    Dear experts,
I create a seles order, input one material and valuation type,  I can't fix the batche in sales order, the system give a message as following, so the ATP check is wrong.is there any solution to deal this issue?
"Availability check for material 21-01 only occurs at plant level
    Message no. V1562
    Diagnosis
You entered valuation type 9999999999999 for material 21-01 which is to be handled in batches without specifying a batch. Therefore, an availability check can only occur at plant level since it is not possible to determine all batches belonging to the valuation type. Usually, the plant stock level is higher than the stock level within a valuation type. Too much may be confirmed as a result.
    Procedure
When you enter a batch number, the availability check occurs at batch level."
    Best regards

  • APO atp on sales orders with complete delivery.

    Hello all.
We run ATP in APO for sales orders on a lot of products. Often a sales order will contain many different products & often Complete delivery will be chosen. When we do the ATP check one of the products may have a long delivery time compared to the rest of the products on the order, and since we have chosen complete delivery the delivery date for the entire order will be pushed back.
Is there a way to find out which of the products in a given order causes the delay or do we have to have something coded you think?
As is the users have to remove complete delivery and then do the ATP for each of the products to find out and that's expensive timewise.
    Any ideas welcome.
    Regards
    Simon Pedersen.

    Hi Simon,
Is there any specific reason to choose "complete delivery" option. You can use delivery proposal option and this will provide delivery date to each schedule line as per material availability.
In R3 go to SPRO->Sales and distribution->baisc function->Availability Check and Transfer of Requirements->Availability Check->Availability Check with ATP Logic or Against Planning->Define Default Settings In this transaction maintain availability check rule as "C"

  • ATP Check - Sales order

    Dear All
Our company requirement is not to save the sales order if stock is not available for any of the line item. This requirement is for specific order type or item catagories.
Currently system is saving the order even if quantity is not available.
Can you please help me how to configure the same in SAP.
    Regards
    K.C Choudhury

    hi,
ATP Check is checking of availablty quantities i.e ATP = Total Warehouse Stock + Planned receipts(Incoming Stock) - Planned Issues (Out going stock)
Availbilty Check is an integral part of business process it determines the if the desire deliverible quantity can be met on requested delivery date or not. Then it passes to Material Requirement Planning. Or
avability check is nothing but checking of availibility of stock which is placed in the order , sys carries out this check through a available to promise (ATP)
When we create a sales order, there are several basic functions which are executed automatically for the dynamic order management . among these basic functions , availability check and transfer of requirements are crucial.
the system first prepares schedule line containing the information on the desired delivery date and quantities , this information is passed to MRP and an avialability check and transfer of requiremnts are executed
First the system carries out backward scheduling and establishes the material avaialbility date = desired delivery date-transit time-loading time-picking & packing time and on this date an availability check is carried out using ATP logic which means avialable to promise quanity =total ware house stock+incoing orders-outgoing
along with the avialability check the requirements also are transferred to MRP.
    the configuration involves following
    1. switching on at schedule line catagegory the avialability check and TOR
    2. configure the avilability check using ATP and using the checking group and Checking rule

  • Alt bom components with ATP check - production order resets usage prob.

    Hello,
I have searched many threads for this answer.  Here is my scenario
BOM for finished good X  has the following components
Component   |    Usage Prob   |    Strategy    |  Alt Item Group   |   Priority
    A          |             55%         |         2         |         1             |              1
    B          |              45%        |         2         |          1            |               2
When I create the production order for 100 units, components A and B are proposed respectively (per usage probability, as expected)   - like so
    Production Order
    Component A = 55 units
    Component B = 45 units
Here is the requirement - Component B at any given time is restricted by federal law to not be used for material X for more than 45% of its make up. Therefore my client cannot build X with more than 45% of component B.  However, we always want to use at most 45%.  IF component B is not available, transfer all or partial confirmation to Component A.
    Issue:
ATP and usage probabilities will not work.  Whenever I run ATP check for production order, the component with the highest priority get all the reqirements (if inventory permits).  The production order master data is 'reset' by the ATP check (the usage probability on the component will change from 45% to 100%)
    Any help is greatly appreciated!

    futsol ,
Maintainance is not required, it say manual maintainance is possible if required.
if you set it 1 system will check the proportion and do the reservation accordingly , if even in production order if you check availabity it will not change the quantity proportion, if its 2 , its meant for alloting the 100 % available component.if A is not 100% available it will replace it with B , if B is availabe to cover total quantity and vice versa.
by giving 1 it gives you option to change proportion as per your wish , if the any of the alternative is not available to fullfill rerquirement., for example in your case component B , if its available you want to use it 45% all the time , but if its not availabe the you can change the proportion or quantity for A in that specific production order only.
I dont know if there is any other way.
Check again with strategy 1 .
    Hope it helps you .

  • ATP Check for service parts and procurement scenario

    Dear Experts,
We're testing CRM service scenario, focusing on the ATP check.
After running the avaiability check for the service parts in the service order,
is it posssible to determine the scenario automatically as follows?
    - when the necessary parts items are not available
-> "Procurement" scenario will be used.
The corresponding documents such as PO, PR or Reservation will be generated in ERP according to the setting "Define Logistics Scenario for the Procurement of Materials and Services".
    - when the necessary parts items are available in stock
-> "Material withdrawal" scenario will be used. The items will be withdrawn at the service confirmation.
From our understanding, the determination of the above scenario is controlled by the item type(ex.SRVP),
so we expect that the system sets the appropriate item type depending on whether the item is available or not.
Is there any possible solution for this?(i.e.standard customizing, BAdI etc....)
Any advice would be higly appreciated.
    Best regards,
    F.T.

    Hi F.T,
I have worked in Service Order Management Scenario, but not integration of Service Orders for ATP Check. But I found this Presentation which I hope might be somewhat helpful regarding the feasibility of the Business Scenario. You can have look at  the same and will be able to decide if this is the correct way forward or not.

  • Ipad2 online order shipping and delivery

I have just ordered an Ipad2 online (on apple store) at night on May 16th. Before I bought it( or you can say paid it), It didn't show any estimate delivery time byt only said that it would "ship in 1-2 weeks delivers within 5 bussiness days." But after I bought it, I checked my order status right away, and It showed it would be "ship:May 31 and deliver: June 6". So my question is, are those dates accurate? Cause it didn't give me a range, you know, like "before XXX" or "XXX - XXX". But It gave me a specific time. Will those dates change as time moving on? Actually this is not the real issue
The real issue is that I had and international flight on June 5th, and I must leave with my Ipad by that day. Of course, there will be somebody signning it for me if I am already gone. But It would cost much more to send across countries and makes it much more complicated. A lot people may suggest that I should chose a faster shipping method or delivery method. But in fact, I didn't see any other choices. The only choice I got was standard shipping, there was no other choices. So I aasking if there is any ways to make it faster( just one day faster) to arrive, or change the delivery method( like using FedEX or UPS, cause standard shipping assuming delivering by via American Postal Service), I don't care of adding money. I just wanted in my hand by June 3rd( the last business day before June 6th,) PLEASE HELP!!!!

Sorry, but there's no way anyone here can tell you whether Apple will be able to make those dates. Your iPad may ship earlier, it may ship on that date, or the date may slip. All of those possibilities have happened for iPad 2 shipments.  There's no way anyone, probably not even Apple at this point, can guarantee that you'll have your iPad in hand by June 3rd. You can try to pick up one from an Apple Store or dealer in your area, but due to demand iPads sell out quickly after a new shipment, so it's iffy even that way.
As to faster shipment, you can call the Apple Store and ask if you can specify expedited shipping, but most iPads seem to be going via expedited FedEx anyway, so there may just not be a faster shipping method. Talk to the Apple Store.
    Regards.

  • Relationship table of Sales Order (VA03) and Delivery Order (VL03N)

    Hi everyone!
What table can I see the relationship of Sales Order document (VA03) and Delivery Order document (VL03N) as shown in VA03 > Environment > Document Flow?
I mean, what tables saves the partnerships of each document (query sales order no. and get equivalent delivery order no. or nos.)
    Thank you very much!

    Hi
U can use the fm RV_ORDER_FLOW_INFORMATION in order to get out those links or you can read the item table LIPS:
    LIPS-VGBEL  = sales order number
    LIPS-VGPOS  = salese order item

  • Tracking Order release and Delivery Document

    Hi,
I have the belwo scenario. Sales order is enter and released by User1 and delivery document is created by user2.
The sales order can have multiple releases by User1, USER1A, USER1B. The same as for Delivery document USER 2, USER 2 A, USER 2B.
Is there a way to link all these?
Basically i am trying to link VBAP ( order Header ) CDHDR ( Change header table) and LIKP ( Delivery Header).. How can i recognize for 5 order releases 4 or 5 delivery is created and by which user?
Your help would be highly appreciated.

    Hi Ashwini
    I would suggest you this.
Create a Z table with SO Number, Line number, Status and user id.
Create an output type and assing it to the sales order.
In the program for the output type write a simple logic to update the Z table.
Now you can link the sales order line item from VBAP, Ztable and LIKP.
Please reward points if this helps.
    Thanks
