ATTN: Oracle US Payroll Customers: XML Check Writer and Deposit Advice rele

Dear Oracle U.S. HCM Customer,
The XML Checkwriter/Deposit Advice patch has been released!
Patch number:
* R11i: 6399100
Note: This patch will satisfy the California Overtime Paid in Arrears
requirement in addition to delivering XML output.
Please see the readme on Metalink for full details:
XML Checkwriter/Deposit Advice Readme Rel 11i Note 459306.1
Note:
Oracle will de-support the Live Checkwriter and Deposit Advice for US
and Canada beginning with EOY Phase 1 in September. Archive & XML
Checkwriter and Deposit Advice will continue to be supported. What this
means is that new code changes and bug fixes will not be tested on the
Live Checkwriter and Deposit Advice. Additionally, enhancements made to
the Archive version will NOT be made for the Live version.

At OpenWorld, the developers said that XML Checkwriter and Deposit Advice would be available in version 12.6. I don't recall the expected date of release.

    Dear Oracle US Payroll Customer:
We would like to make you aware of an issue with the Florida XML State Quarterly Wage (SQWL) changes. After receiving approval from the State of Florida, Oracle was notified on Monday, July 2, there was an issue with the generated XML if there was more than one GRE reported in the XML file. This issue has been resolved and a one-off patch is now available.
    Patch number: 6166328
Note: If you do not file the SQWL in the State of Florida, you are not required to apply this patch. Additionally, this issue will impact you only if you have multiple GREs with employees in Florida. If you are filing for only one GRE in the state of Florida, you do not need to apply this patch.
The readme is available when the patch is downloaded from MetaLink. Please be sure to carefully read the readme before beginning to install this patch to ensure successful processing!

  • Cheque Writer and Deposit Advice Process Customization

    Hi,
My client has a unique requirement of ordering the cheques location-wise rather then the default organization-wise. Also my client wants to add FYTD US tax balance criteria and show some calculations based on that, so there are functions within the report which calls these package and do the necessary calculations related to FYTD.
To include these 2 customizations, what could the best possible way to customize the 2 processes/packages. Now, I dont think we can handle all these at the report label, hence the packages related to cheque writer/deposit advice has to be customized also. But, these 2 processes are called by PYUGEN and the PYUGEN only calls the seeded processes. How can we make PYUGEN call the customized packages? If that is not possible, do you think its a good idea to go for full customization of the packages and the report and run them separately w/o involving PYUGEN?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
PUYGEN is a pro*C wrapper around plsql packages. I would keep that.
The actual packages called are stored as data within tables. So that gives you the possibility of
    - changing the seeded packages
    - creating new packages from scratch, and modifying the seeded data to point to your package.
The first customizations seems so easy (changing the order by of the driving query) that i would opt for a change of the seeded package.
Pay_magnetic_blocks and pay_magnetic_headers can help you further.
    Good luck,
    thierry

    Dear Oracle Canada Payroll Customer:
We would like to make you aware of an issue impacting 11i and R12
payroll customers that submit T4 information to the Canada Revenue
Agency on magnetic media. Other Information codes 81 to 85 are not being
reported on the T4 magnetic media file. The T4 Paper Report and T4 PDF
report these codes correctly. The codes represent the following:
81 – Placement or employment agency workers gross earnings
82 – Drivers of taxis or other passenger-carrying vehicles gross earnings
83 – Barbers or hairdressers gross earnings
    84 – Public transit pass
85 – Employee-paid premiums for private health services plans
If you have reported any of the above codes to the CRA through magnetic
media, please file an amended slip for those employees.
    We apologize for any inconvenience.

Ddi you try processing both the medical benefit element and medical bills element ? One of these should have the formula attached to it to calculate/adjust taxable and non-taxable values applicable for the year.
Usually tax calculations and exemption calculations are done for the entire year during each payroll run. So ,i suppose if 12500 was taxable in last 11 months and employee gave bills for 13000 in March, only 2000 should be taxable. So -10500 should come in March, so that annual value of 2000 (12500-10500) is taxable

  • Check Printing and Payment Advice

    Hi all,
When i was running F110, the Payment Advice is not printing. Check alone is Printing. I checked it in FBZ5 also, here i gave printer for BOTH Forms even here also the Payment Advice is not Printing. I got Spool only for the Check.
I am using RFFOUS_C Program for Check Payment Method.
In the Variant i have given CHECK,PAYMENT ADVICE and also the PAYMENT SUMMARY.

This is not a big error, goto your form and in main window and add element 510-H ,
Reason why error has come up is the print program is calling the main window with element 510-H, if print program is in your control you can remove the error by comment this instead of adding 510-H it in main window.(either way you can solve your problem)

    Checkwriter/Deposit Advice:
Oracle will de-support the Live Checkwriter and Deposit Advice for US and Canada beginning with EOY Phase 1 in September. Archive Checkwriter and Deposit Advice will continue to be supported. What this means is that new code changes and bug fixes will not be tested on the Live Checkwriter and Deposit Advice. Additionally, enhancements made to the Archive version will NOT be made for the Live version.
*Note: If you would like to view the output of the archive version of this report without needing pre-printed stationery, try the following in a test instance:
    disable the trigger pay_action_parameters_ari
insert a row in pay_action_parameters with the following value -
    name=PRINT_REPORT_LABELS
    value=PAYUSCDA
    enable the trigger pay_action_parameters_ari
Run the report. This will print the labels and make it easier to check the report without needing pre-printed stationery.
In early summer, we are targeting release of an XML version of Checkwriter and Deposit Advice.

  • Check writer customization

I need help on check writer process, deposit advice concurrent programs. For these concurrent programs the executable is shown as PYUGEN. How do i know the exact executable for these processes. I need to see that a specific earnings element should not appear on the pay checks generated by check writer.
Can you please let me know how can I acheive this.

PYUGEN is pro*C code, and i have never seen before the sources.
Can you ran a sql trace file with binds to verify your assumptions? As such, you will see all sql statements.

  • Error when running check writer

    Hi ,
i am running check writer process in test instance and i am getting this error. Can anybody help me with this.
    PL/SQL Output
    HR_6990_HRPROC_CHQ_SRW2_FAILED
APP-PAY-06990: Report Writer report failed with an error

    Hi,
I am also getting the same error when running Check Writer or Deposit Advice. I tried to see above two notes but did not help me much.
    Here is the log file...
    HR_6990_HRPROC_CHQ_SRW2_FAILED
APP-PAY-06990: Report Writer report failed with an error
Cause: The report failed to complete and returned an error condition.
Action: Check the report logfile in PAY_TOP/APPLOUT/xx.lg for reason for the failure.
We are using custom rdf file for both of the processes and are doing upgrade to R12 from 11.5.10.
Does anyone has encountered this situation.
    Thanks,
    Raghu

  • Check writer for HR PAYROLL

Can any one clarify that check writer and check writer(xml) concurrent programs that are used for payroll check printing are same? if not when should we use check writer and when should we use check writer(XML)? (why i am asking these because concurrent program short name which is the code for data definition and template are not same, but the data definition name( Check Writer XML) is same for template(Check Writer for US))
To Enable check writer(XML) i gone through some setups in oracle support should that be performed to use check writer(XML) instead of check writer? and finally to customize my check template where can i get the XML DATA ? Any replies will be appreciated thanks in advance.

There are several documents on Metalink that provide the steps necessary for using CheckWriter(XML). Basically, the CheckWriter and the CheckWriter(XML) programs are the same however the XML program runs through the Oracle provided data definitiion and xml template to produce the PDF output.
When you run the Check Writer (XML) program you will find two programs in the Concurrent Request window. The PDF output from the template will generate from the 1st program and the XML data that is used to generate is found in the 2nd program. You can copy the seeded Oracle XML check template and rework it to fit your organizations requirements.

  • Data source for deposit advice xml and check writer xml

Could someone please tell me where I can find the data source for the Deposit Advice XML and Check Writer XML programs. Since these executables are now a spawned process (PYUGEN), I don't know how to get to the data source. I was able before to look at the queries in PAYUSPST.rdf and PAYUSCHK.rdf. Where are these queries located now? Any help is appreaciated.

    Hi All,
I applyied the patch 6399100 and i got the seeded Check Writer (XML) and Deposit Advice (XML) programs.Im able to run the Check Writer (XML) with Parameter (Check Style :Seeded Archive Check Writer Template ) but where as the im unable to run the Deposit Advice (XML) due to Error msg: "No enties found for list of vales"for the 'Check Style' Parameter.
And for the above (only for Deposit Advice) i am not able to ecexute the SQL script given in the Doc ID : 459306.1 due to the error msg : cannot insert NULL into ("HR"."PAY_REPORT_CATEGORIES"."REPORT_GROUP_ID") if i see query the select * from apps.pay_report_categories where short_name like 'ARCHIVE%' there is no record exixts for ARCHIVE_DEPOSIT....
for this we required any other patch/setups.
And is the "Third Pary Check" will support XML Publisher ??
Any respose will be greatly appriciated.

    Madhu
