I download Oracle Database 10 G an developer Suite 10G and Client 10G to have the lastest version of bibeans awm.
i have create a simple aw with the following objects

I create a Standard Form like

and enable it for Bibeans and OLAP API.
I have two problems :
- I Can't see my attribute REL_TEST2 in the QueryBuilder conditions tab, in the Match step group for the dimension dim1.
I found a procedure cwm2_olap_dimension_attribute.create_dimension_attribute but i don't know how to use it in my particular case
and is it the good way .
- I see REL_TEST2 in the list of measure in the querybuilder but i can't edit this measure in the crosstab.
Is a known problem?

I am developing an HTML client based tool using the JSP tags. I wish to create a report that selects the appropriate dimension value based upon an attribute.
But...
Using the query builder I can not select dimension values based upon dimension attributes. Is this possible? The only use I have found for the attributes is when I am sorting my selected diemsnion values.

1. Java Client QueryBuilder has support for selecting dimension members based on an attribute.
To use this functionality, go to Dimensional Panel -> Conditions tab. Drill on Match group of conditions. The attribute condition appears as the last available condition, but only for dimensions that have attributes.
To test this, use BIBDEMO schema supplied with BI Beans and look at conditions for Product dimension.
2. If you wish to display dimension attributes and their values in the HTML client UI,
here is how you can retrieve attributes and their values for a dimension:

Query Builder recognizing primary/foreign key

Is there a way to have Query Builder recogninze the primary/foreign keys of the tables when they are selected? Right now it looks like you have to manually join the tables together by selected the column(s) to join.

You can define a query key[1] 'planId' on InvestmentOption for the PLAN_OID column. That'll let you write an expression like the one below which does not produce a join. The nice part about the query key is that it does not require you to add attributes to your object in order to query o them.

Simple Question About Using "Group by" Inside the Oracle XE Query Builder

Hi,
I am a new user of Oracle 10g XE and I have built and populated some tables. I am trying to create a view (make a query) via using the Query Builder. I have chosen two attributes, say course_section_ID and trainer_ID in the same table. I choose the "COUNT" function for course_section_no and I check the box for "Group By" with trainer_ID. (I would like to count the number course sections each trainer is teaching). Then I "run" the query and the same error message appears:
fail to parse SQL query:
ORA-00904: "COURSE_SECTION"."TRAINER_ID": invalid identifier
Both attribute names should be valid (as shown above).
If I only choose course_section_ID and do a COUNT on it, it gives the same error message on course_section_no.
I did try to do the same thing with the demo HR database. There were no problems with counting a field nor with grouping on a field with HR.

I have got it. When all the attribute names are in the uppercase, then I can do aggregate functions and "group by" with the GUI.

[SOLVED] Package-Query build error

I'm trying to get my new Arch system setup, and I'm having trouble getting Yaourt installed. I can't seem to get package-query to build successfully. I have base-devel installed, and I've followed the instructions in the wiki on installing AUR packages. After running "makepkg -s" from the package-query directory it seems to go fine until the end, where I see this output.

And that's it. Not sure what I'm missing here.

Query builder 'order by'

Hi all,
I'm using query builder to retrieve result. Generated query statement is:
/jcr:root/content/dam/myFolder//element(*, dam:Asset) order by jcr:content/metadata/general/@views descending
The attribute 'views' is of xtype numberfield, but of course numberfield is a textfield with only numbers allowed inside and stored as String.
Ordering by this attribute returns hits ordered in descending alphabetical order.
My question is if it's possible to execute query with ordering by number value of it's attribute, not string value.

The xpath search cannot do this. So the best option (also in terms of performance) is to make that property a LONG.
Alternatively you can write a custom querybuilder predicate evaluator that can provide a custom comparator. In the query, you would then address that predicate in the orderby to use the comparator:
stringasnumber=jcr:content/metadata/general/views
orderby=stringasnumber
It could inherit from the standard JcrPropertyPredicateEvaluator or even from RangePropertyPredicateEvaluator (to support range queries as well, using filtering). Note that such a comparator will be slow if there are many results to order (since it does not make use of any search index).

Query Builder session settings as a solve to ORA-01843 (not a valid month)

Hi All! I'm novice at Oracle and RDBMS, so sorry for a dummy question.
I'm trying to make some queries to a tutorial database (10g XE) with Query Builder of Application Express 2.1000039.
I'm requesting columns with id, date of order and status of order; in a column of ordering date as a "where" condition I've wrote:
>= to_date('23-JUN-2006', 'DD-MON-RRRR') and got an error "ORA-01843: not a valid month".
Then I've edited row filtering condition:
>= to_date('23-JUN-2006', 'DD-MON-RRRR', 'NLS_DATE_LANGUAGE = american') and 've got a correct query result, BUT resulting table date format is DD-MM-RR.
So, here is a couple of questions:
1. Can I change a session settings (e.g. alter session set NLS_DATE_FORMAT = 'DD-MON-RRRR') such way, to use it in Query Builder, before building an application itself and not to write 'NLS_DATE_LANGUAGE = american' every time I'm inserting data to a date datatype field?
2. I wonder why resulting table date format is 'DD-MM-RRRR'. How can I get a data exactly in a date format 'DD-MON-RRRR', how I'm specifying in a query?
My operating system is Windows 7 Home Basic, NLS_DATE_FORMAT is DD-MON-YYYY in 2 cases in register and respectively in environment variable.
SQL*Plus displays all mentionted query tables correctly, corresponding to an 'ALTER SESSION ..... SETTINGS'.

How to add a new field in Query Builder or Report

I am writing a report using Oracle 6i query builder and report.
example:
QTY_1 QTY_2 QTY_3
QTY_1 and QTY_2 are table fields and QTY_3 Is not. I need to show the value of (QTY_2-QTY_1) in QTY_3.
I need to create a field QTY_3 which is not in the database table. How do I do that?

CM14 BI Publisher - modifying an existing Data Model, the Graphic View in Query Builder does not display

I am trying to edit the default forms/reports that come with CM14, trying to edit the data model, data set, (to get to the old Infomaker style graphic view) , the Query model does not display (error the list of tables is too long..) Oracle tell me the limit is 60, there are not 60 tables referenced in any CM report.
Does this Query builder view work at all on any report?
(bigger question, we are moving from CM12, should we move to CM13 which works with infomaker?)

A couple of notes/clarifications.
1. You are correct that BI works better in Firefox--I have observed issues with the BI display when using IE. I would recommend using Firefox too.
2. You are correct about the way to get to the Query Builder to see a graphical view of data tables. There are basically two issues with this that I mentioned, but will re-iterate:
a. If you have an EXISTING query in the data set, then click the "Query Builder" button, this will remove the existing query that's there, it will NOT display the existing query in the query builder. Query Builder works only to create a NEW query from scratch.
b. Query builder is limited to selecting 60 fields max in your query. If you are creating a large report with many tables, you may find that 60 fields is not enough. For that you will have to work in the SQL edit screen rather than using the query builder.
I would impress on anyone developing CM14 reports that they become familiar with the database schema and relationships to avoid problems when developing your BI reports. You should be able to find the tables and joins documentation in the knowledgebase.

Query Builder in Crystal Report Server 2008?

I am running CRS2008 V1 on Windows Server 2003 as single server install. I am using IIS as the web application server. Query Builder doesn't show up as an option anywhere I can find. How do I get to Query Builder?
How do I install Query Builder if it is not already available?
Is Tomcat required?
Can I continue to use IIS but have Query Builder available as well?
Can I go ahead and install Tomcat without crashing my BOE installation and IIS?
How do I install Tomcat on this server?

Well I've never installed CRS 2008 so I'm not sure. If the installer allows you should be able to go to add/remnove programs and modify the install, adding tomcat/java. If that is not allowed the installer may require IIS or tomcat only and a full reinstall (I hope not).
I work with BOE 3.1 mostly and we can add/remove it with that installer.

Unable to load Query Builder component

Hello,
When I try to refresh a report in Crystal Reports 10, it displays this error message:
"Failed to load database information."
"Details: Unable to load Query Builder component."
Then, when I try to register querybuilder.dll, RegSvr32 gives this error:
"querybuilder.dll was loaded, but the DllRegisterServer entry point was not found."
Any ideas?

Problem of Query Builder

I am using SQL Developer 1.1.0.23. In this I was trying to use Query Builder. In this I am facing one problem. In our company, we are provided with the view_only schema which are having access to all the objects.
Now while using Query Builder, I want to use the table of the other schema. But Query builder allow only tables owned by the schema with which we are logged in. This is making it virtually useless if we need to create the query like
Select a.col1,
b.co1
from schema1.table_name1 a,
schema2.table_name2 b;
Can we created such query with Query Builder, or do we have any work around for this ???

This is correct. There is a bug logged for this, but at this stage the query builder does not support read only access.

Search for ContentManager role in the user admin and assign that role to your user id or the group you are in.
Once it is added, Content Manager role will come in Top level navigation.
Then navigate to Content Manager -> Classification-> Taxonnomy Query Builder.

Query Builder (Express Edition 10g) is not working in Google Chrome

Google Chrome is not properly displaying table in SQL Query Builder (Oracle Database Express 10g).
It is not possible to select all fields of given table because not all fields are displayed and I can't go down to select last field.
In Mozilla Firefox this is possible. In Google Chrome table bar is not displayed.

Internal errors during Query Builder

Please help me to correct a problem. Database user has a very simple cube: a measure with two dimensions. User (named "warehouse") owns it, the fact table, the dimension tables etc.; client application connects using warehouse account too.
While QueryBuilder makes a data source, one dimension (providers) fails at the some selections; for example, selections "top 10" and "last 3" works, but selection "measure value > 10000" fails; the other dimension (services) works great with all selections tried.
"Fails" means that selection step can be selected (moved from "available" to "selected" box), but cannot be configured (edited) at any manner, both in the left and right boxes - for example, I cannot edit value "10000". This selection cannot be applied too. Visually query builder does nothing, but prints exception trace (see below).
