Audio on drag and drop source

Hello all,
I am looking for a way to get a drag and drop source play an audio file when clicked, Such that the user click first to listen to the audio and then places the source on the right target.
Any idea or workaround will be appreciated.

Just tested this out, have also a look at this screenshot:
In this example I used shapes for target (Targx) and Drag Sources (Dragy). I created a duplicate for each drag source, located in the same place, but without stroke/fill and acting as a button. Those are the BtAudioz objects on the timeline They can be under the drag sources since those are non-interactive and will not limit the functionality of the shape buttons. I don't know what your actions are for the D&D, which will pause at 1.5secs, so I just pushed the pausing of the audio buttons bit closer to the end. It depends on your situation. To prevent releasing the playhead when one of the buttons is clicked, you have to use an advanced action to play the audio clip, or, which I did here, a shared action. That action has only one command 'Play Audio' and the audio clip will be the parameter if you use a shared action as I did. It works perfectly.

  • Using grouped objects as drag and drop source

    I am creating a drag and drop interaction. I have an image grouped with a text area and would like to make them draggable together as a single drag source.
    However, even though they are already grouped, when I edit the drag and drop interaction, they can only be specified as separate sources.
    Is it possible to use grouped objects as a single source? How?

    Have tons of workarounds, but none for this. It is simply not possible to indicate a group as a drag object, you have to put everything in one object. Maybe if you explain what is in the group?

    Hello, I've been working on Premiere for a year now
    I installed 2014 a week ago, and until today I haven't had any problems.
    When I drag and drop the first video, everything works fine, until I try to drop another video.
    The second video won't appear on the timeline, except for it's audio
    Which is weird to me because everything worked well on the CS6
    My sequence settings are
    Custom
    30 frames/second
    16/9
    sample rate : 44100Hz
    quickTime
    +H.264
    The first video's properties:
    Type: MPEG Movie
    File Size: 576,0 MB

    What is weird, too, is that when I added the first video, I couldn't add it "Again", the same thing happened

    "What happens when you import the files onto a non-quicktime sequence?", well I don't know how to create a sequence before dragging a file on the timeline on this premiere, so I dragged the "Second video" first and it created a sequence with AVC Intra 100 1080i

    what's weird is that I could add the second video once, but not twice, and I can add the "first" video several times (it's weird because the sequence was created from the second video's properties)
    To answer your last question, the same thing happens too. I can create another sequence with the "Second video", add the "First video" 10 times but I won't be able to add the second video a second time.
    On the other hand, when i created another sequence with the "first video", I will be able to add the first video as much as I want, but I won't even be able to add the "second" video once.

  • Problem using text boxes as the "image" to drag and drop over audio file

    I have been adding audio files to my page in iWeb (previous version, not '08), but I am having a problem giving them titles.
    When you first drag a file from iTunes into iWeb, it provides a space for you to drag and drop a picture. The online iWeb guide also says that you can drag a text box there instead of a picture.
    I created a text box with the text I would like to drop over the controller. However, it is no longer allowing me to drop the text box there. I used to be able to do this, and I don't know what I'm doing differently now. Any suggestions?

    foobar2000 with the ipod plugin will allow you to drag/drop FLAC files and when it syncs the ipod, it converts the FLAC files on the fly. MUCH better than dealing with the crappy iTunes interface and having to pre-convert the files. I absolutely loathe iTunes and it just gets worse and worse!

  • IWeb Podcast - Drag and Drop Audio and Picture Files

    I have been using iWeb the last few days to create a web site that includes some podcasts. I currently have three podcasts as a part of the site. I have been able to get two of the podcasts to work correctly but the third one, no matter how many times I recreate it seems to be where the difficulty lies.
    The podcast page gives me the opportunity to drag and drop an audio file and a picture file onto the page. As best I can tell, when I drop the audio file onto the page, things seem to be fine. When I drop the picture file onto the object, the audio clip seems to disappear. I have tried dropping the picture file first with basically the same results.
    A couple of more things. I created the original podcast file in GB3. I have found I can't import the podcasting file directly form GB because I end up with a very large file (>60GB) for the audio portion. So, I share the audio file to disk as an M4a file. When I add the audio to the podcast page in iWeb, I drag the audio file from Finder onto the object. The picture I have dropped onto the podcast page both from the Media Browser and from Finder. The results are the same.
    Any help is appreciated.

    I think you're asking the question in the wrong forum. From what you posted, there's nothing wrong with GB, you should post in the iWeb forum where you're more likely to get useful and accurate answers about, well, iWeb.

  • Drag and Drop to Source Monitor but not Double Click?

    Has anyone seen this issue?  I've got an importer plugin.  If you drag and drop a clip into the source monitor, then it works fine.  But if you double click it then nothing happens.  Any idea why this would happen?  Normal clips (like MOV files) work fine so there must be something wrong with my plugin.

  • Drag and drop FLAC audio into iPod to convert and add?

    I manually sort my music as albums in folder directories. I have never liked how iTunes wanted to sort my music back in 2005 and I don't like it any more today.
    I recently got a 6th gen iPod Nano via the 1st gen iPod Nano replacement program and I am disappointed in how I cannot use Winamp to manage my playlists anymore. Winamp would automatically transcode incompatible FLAC audio into MP3 before transferring onto my 1st gen Nano.
    I have my iPod options under iTunes set to automatically convert higher bitrate audio to 192kbps AAC, but dragging and dropping FLAC audio into my iPod gives an error message that prevents me from adding anything.
    I thought maybe I had to import my audio into iTunes' library first, but scanning for media adds every audio file including system and program audio files to my library, which really clutters things up. It treats each artist as an album, so compilation albums of 30 audio tracks from 30 artists appear as 30 individual albums in my iTunes library. Most cumbersome.
    I am also appauled in how it did not detect or support playback of FLAC audio. I am not willing to convert my entire library into a proprietary lossless audio format just because iTunes wants me to when other programs and I were getting along so well without iTunes and my 1st gen Nano.
    Anyway, what I am hoping to achieve is to find a streamlined way to convert FLAC audio files into MP3 or AAC while I am transferring them to my iPod without having to involve another program to manually convert before adding. This is a huge convenience factor for which I am regretting having my 1st gen Nano replaced. I will admit that I am perhaps being overly stubborn here. Maybe I'll just sell this 6th gen Nano while it's still pristine and get a Sansa Clip or something. Apple products have become too stifling and I won't be surprised if there was no way to achieve what I am asking to do here, so maybe this ends up a being more of a rant than a search for answers.

  • Drag And Drop from Browser to time line  - where does audio go

    When i drag and drop a clip from the browser or from the viewer directly onto the timeline as an simple superimpose, if there is not enough room for the stereo tracks ie( i LOCK OUT MOST OF THE TRACKS because i work mostly voiceover and not with raw voice in.) WHere does FCE put the sound ? in some cases i get one track in other cases it splatters it around to any available track but not always etc-- I am curious if it ends up anywhere that would come back to bite me in the end- I don't need the sound so even if i get some in i immediately delete it . Is there a way of breaking the link between video and audio before dropping it on to the timeline?

    actually the situation is the instructions say that mono voiceovers will go to track selector a2 -- but they don't - they go every which where unless you can actually pick the a2 track selector and move it to where you want to- However if it isnt showing you cant choose it and hence the mono voiceover gets splattered on whichever track the program thinks is fine-- which is NOT fine.

  • Referencing a source datagrid from within a drag and drop handler

    My application implements a drag and drop between two datagrids.
    I would like to keep track of how many times a particular row in the source datagrid has been dragged to the target.
    The drag and drop handler should increment a DataGridColumn in the source datagrid row each time this happens.
    I can't figure out a way to refer back to the source datagrid and set a value in its dataprovider from within the drag and drop handler function.
    The source datagrid is in a module and the target datagrid in in a popup called from the module. The function below is in the popped up custom component.

  • Drag and Drop audio effect hits all tracks

    How is it that when I drag and drop a tried and true compressor effect onto an audio clip (FCP6), it now takes to all audio tracks from the same clip. Then I have to go back and remove the effect from the other (3) tracks. Bug, or setting I'm missing?

    Final Update: ...god willing...
    OK! Check it, like I said in previous posts I seemed to have narrowed it down to specific mp3s not converting and playing in their native sample rate which if paired with another sample would give you the "audio midi sync" error and basically screw up your clock! It appears mp3 files converting to mp3 using iTunes would not convert to the correct sample rate if set to something other than 44 in logic and cause this. A tad peculiar Apple iTunes won't work with Apple Logic. I was able to confirm this on two mac's via my friend in Florida. He's running Tiger and tried the same experiment and Booya! Mickey Mouse! It appears this insane week long adventure has came to an end (...god willing) with a super specific unlucky shot in the dark on my part finally revealed to be an perfectly normal function of Logic (obviously one i'm not fond of..) As far as the errors / crashes / system overloads / kernal panics I think I can sort those out to the mackie onyx satellite not being a good choice and trying to add and remove firewire devices in the middle of the sample rate mayhem. Wow! all I can say is, I'm glad it's over
    Wish me a lot of luck in the future.. I'm sure i'll need it!

  • Drag and Drop - Audio Levels

    Hi There,
    I am using the Drag and Drop feature.  I chose to use the Adobe provided audio files for correct and incorrect answers.  The only thing is that they are a bit loud.  I would like to adjust the levels.  Is the only way to do this is to go into the Gallery folder and make the adjustments to the files themselves or is there a way to do that through the Captivate app?

    In order to make any changes to the volume levels of these files from within Captivate you would need to have imported them first into the Library.  Once you have those files there you can open them in the Slide Audio editor dialog and change the volume.
    I would suggest that you make copies of these audio files, rename them (so that they do not get mixed up with the originals), and then place them somewhere in a separate folder where you can add them to any future projects that you deem would require audio files with this lowered volume level.

  • Identify Drag and Drop Drag Source

    I know this is not the way the Drag and Drop works, but I am wondering if there is a way to identify which drag source was dragged to the target.
    My scenario:
    I want to allow the user to drag a character from the waiting room to the registration desk, and to know which character was dragged, then I will use that information to ask appropriate questions to the user regarding registration, based on the character.  So I will have numerous characters, all draggable to the same target.
    I don't see any indication that Captivate gives me this information, that is, which drag source was just dragged to the target.
    I know I could just ask the user to click on a character, but I want to do something a little more interesting.

    Each drag action can be used to trigger an advanced action. You can use that action to populate a variable, perhaps with the name of the character. And based on that information you can achieve your goal.
