Audio reference levels across applications

Hi, After many mysterious problems using Final Cut Studio with my m-audio 1010 digital audio card I am completely confussed as to why audio levels are so inconsistent across say, Final Cut, DVD Studio, Soundtrack pro and even iTunes. An edit in Final Cut Pro imported into DVD Studio Pro will be much louder than the same edit played in FCP with all the same settings. So the following test was done without the m-audio card just using built in audio via headphones.
If you play a -12DB tone from Final Cut Pro and then export it as an aif. bring it into Soundtrack Pro then the level sounds completely different.
If I import the same into DVD studio then it is much louder.
If I import it into iTunes it is much quieter.
Is there a way of lining up the output of these applications to get a consistent reference level across all applications.
Any ideas gratefully received.

As X noted the requirements of your final distribution point is essential.
As a guide though you will generally find FCP set up to use 16 bit audio and most broadcasters will use 24bit audio
16 bit audio uses -12db as the reference point for 0 in analogue audio
24 bit audio uses -20db as the reference point for 0 in analogue audio

To solve my problemn I uninstall my JDev, remove all folders (Oracle_home, and JDeveloper folder in users - app data - roaming). Install again, and get Webcenter Bundle from Help - Updates. Before a uninstall I was using a bundle that a have here in my machine.

EBRS on Reference level Clearing

Dear Expert,
I configured Electronic Bank Reconciliation and it's clearing on amount level. The problem is that if there are more than one entry of same amount is there system doesn't clear any amount and we have to go t.code FEBAN and there select lien item and do clearing. Our client wants that this clearing should be on "Reference Level". How can we do that and how the refernace text in Bank Statement and in SAP will be same ?

catch the exception in the model layer (or backing bean) and preform the rollback from there.
Inside the model layer you get the transaction via appmodule.getTransaction().rollback();Is you do it from a backing bean , get the application module and use the code above.

Sharing of Objects across applications

Hi,
Is it possible to reference an object initialized by another application?
For example, I have a Logger object that I instantiated from App1. Then I decided to come up with App2. I want to use in App2, the same logger innstance I am using in App1. Of course, assuming that App1 is running. If not, App2 shall create the Logger object and when App1 is run, App1 now shall reference the Logger object App2 created.
I guess what I am pointing out here is how sharing of objects across application can happen in Java.

There is no direct support for this in JVM - you cannot reference object created by JVM#1 from JVM#2 playing fair game =)
If you need 100% pure JAVA solution the only way to do it is to use
networking, either RMI (as it was already suggested) or coding your own TCP protocol. Main drawback - it'll be slow.
For faster access you'll need to use JNI and some sort of interprocess communication method - shared memory/messages/etc. This might be faster (there will be no TCP/IP marshaling) but it'll be more combersome to support it for different OS.

Sharing Functions Across Applications(containers)

Can anyone help with a final word on sharing functions between
applications?
I have read many conflicting accounts on the ability in 6i to share
objects across application systems through the use of common functions,
global process steps, referencing, or shortcuts. Best case scenario, I
would like to share functions across containers, include these functions
in multiple process models, and be able to create process flows between
functions. Is this possible? Is the bug 1787721 which doesn't allow
common functions across applications a true bug, or is this the new
functionality in 6i?

If I understood, you want to know what the steps you need to
follow to share a object, but before it, you need to know a
basic new characteristc at the Designer6i.
The basic characteristc that you must know is that you don't
share objects to application from other one anymore, you create
a reference to other objects in another Application from other
one that already exists. Althoug you must pay attention that you
can create references to objects between applications when they
are in the same Workarea.
It's too simple.
Put the cursor on the Application that want to create reference
from a previous existing object. Choose the option "Create
Reference". Choose the object that you want to reference (Use
the filter if you want) and than it will be work.

Mixer Level/Reference Level

I feel like I'm starting to become a regular here on the RF discussion board. I'm not sure if that's a good thing or not...
I'm making some measurements using the 5660...and the results seem unnecessarily noisy. I'm concerned that perhaps I'm not setting the "Reference Level" correctly. Could somebody clear up the definition of the mixer/reference levels? In "traditional" mixer notation, there's the RF (input) port, the LO (reference) port, and the IF (output) port. How do the 566x's define this in relation to the mixer/reference level? All of the help documents just list how the attenuation is set based on the relative levels...but it's still a bit confusing as to what I'm setting when I input a level for the "Reference Level" field, and furthermore, what the optimum level should be based on a particular application.

Is always good to fully understand what is going on in this field of RF (and yet it is hard to tell sometimes).
The objective is this. Whatever your signal amplitude or power level is, it better be satisfying the needs of the mixer. That is where, the mixer level comes into picture. Our goal is to bring our signal level up or down so that it meets the effective signal level.

Get the ID from request and invoke getSession.
I'm having a very large session timeout at App1.
Is there a better approach. Ex: Having global session which is shared across multiple

How to reference LEVEL in a TREE's SQL code

Is it possible to somehow reference LEVEL in a tree's sql code so that you can use a decode statement to selectively create links on specific levels only i.e. NOT on the root level?
e.g.

one solution I've implemented is to create a DB function e.g.

OK I found a workaround after reading
How to add URL to tree
The view my tree is build on is constructed out of 3 unions and 4 "selects" ( the first select creates the ROOT NODE where "1" is also used as a hard coded foreign key (Parent_id), in the company table.)
I just added a new column called tree_level to the query which is hard coded wrt its level on the hierarchy.
e.g.

I created one ADF task-flow,in which I used content from share point, and then I converted portlets and deployed into integrated WLS server.and then I consumed thoese portlets into web-center spaces its working file.
but i want to deploy those portlets into standalone server while deploying those I am getting following Errors. I am using 11.1.1.1.6 version for all my development.(Jdeveloper,webcenter and all).

How to reference a Planning Application in Workspace

I've developped several Planning applications.
But when I open workspace / Applications / Planning, (with an admin user)
I only see one Planning application. So I want to know how to reference a Planning application in Workspace ??

Some details :
My Planning applications seems to works correctly. Essbase is Okay. Shared services is okay too but the Workspace is out (and with it Financial Reporting Studio).
Before that problem, In the configurator, I've deleted all Planning clusters except one (Default). I've selected Re-associate Clusters and Applications and I've successfully re-Associate all Planning Application to Default Cluster. Then I've Activated Cluster Default.
But Anyway, Since I've deleted Planning Clusters my Workspace doesn't work anymore.
I've a doubt: I've tried to redeploy Workspace (Configurator / Hyperion Foundation / Workspace / Deploy to Application Server and Configure web Server.
It doesn't work because it says that Workspace already exists :p.
Anyway I'm surprised about something : To access Workspace we use the 19000 port but In Configuration we I try to deploy it I see it is on the 45000 port. If I click on advanced / Setup a little window open "Set up Logical Address". And it is writtend Edit Default Cluster : gl-dev-budget : 45000 meanwhile when (still in Configurator) I open Planning / Manage Planning Cluster the server port is 8300 ??
Is someone can helps me ?

Sharing view objects across application modules

Our application uses multiple application modules because of the complex functional requirements. We have come across sharing view objects among application modules. I want to understand the best practice, sharing view object instances across application modules. These view objects can be based on Entity Objects also.

Hi Satya,
You won't be able to share view objects between application modules, but what you can do is to share the bind variables between application modules, if each of your module contains the 'common' view object.

You can use this approach to share bind variables between AM's and re-query the same data.

Synchronizing Material Master revision level across multiple plants

Hello,
If an organization uses material master revision level to maintain the details of material's validity across different plants then we see a material master with different revisions in that organization. Now I would like to understand the impact of this practice in big organizations , is it advisable to have a material master with different revisions in different plants? , if not then which is the best way to synchronize these material masters ( with different revision level ), which are already in use?

There are two companies; both are using the same material.
We are building a central system and synchronizing the materials from all companies.
While synchronization, we found that revision level are different across companies.
1.      Should we avoid using revision level in our organization?
2.      If I can find the validity of a material with change no + material + plant, then what is the purpose
         of the revision level?
3.     What will be the impact, if we remove the entire revision level across all companies?
4.     In real world, across different organizations, how revision level is synchronized across companies or at least in the central system.
Please let me know your valuable inputs.

Help, cannot set references to Photoshop.Application in VBA

Hello,
I have used CS5 in the past and have had a well-functioning VBA program (running within Access 2010) that ran fine, opens 32-bit Photoshop, and controlled photoshop CS5 normally, allowing me to manipulate photos, read metadata, etc. (It was my understanding that at least for CS5, scripting programs including VBA needed to run the 32 bit version of Photoshop, not the 64 bit version.)
I installed CS6 about 6 months ago and the VBA program continued to work just fine, provided it still opened the 32 bit version. (I had to be sure I was not running 64 bit Photoshop when I started the VBA program). CS5 was still installed but not being used.
I just uninstalled CS5, leaving CS6 installed. For some reason, this left the VBA program disrupted in that the References (which you set in the VBA code window with Tools > References) no longer appear to be valid. I am unable to set a new Reference to Photoshop.Application and the program has become unusable. That is, the "Available References" no longer list Adobe Photoshop CS6 Type Library or Adobe Photoshop CS6 Object Library. I browsed to the the file C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS6 (64 Bit)\TypeLibrary.tlb to add this reference manually. The programs still does not compile (i.e., Dim appRef As New Photoshop.Application causes an error "User Defined Type not defined"). I get the same failure to compile if I browse to and install a reference to the 32-bit version, C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS6\TypeLibrary.tlb. In the past, I also had a reference to the "Adobe Photoshop CS6 Object Library". I have tried to manually set this to C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS6\Photoshop.exe or to the 64 bit version of Photoshop.exe, but these files are not accepted and I do not otherwise know the file location of the Object Library.
I very much need help from someone who knows how to fix this problem in transitioning from CS5 to CS6 for using VBA.

There are global keys that get overwritten with each version of Photoshop. Photoshop.Application for example gets set for each install of Photoshop. When you uninstalled CS5 those keys got removed.
Can you install CS6 again? You don't need to uninstall. Just install again if it will let you.
I have a script that wil set them but I don't really like to use it on other folks machines as it messes with the registry and I don't want to make it worse for you.

Solution:
open the weblogic server console, in home page--> click the Deployments-->Select the adf.oracle.domain-->select target tab-->Click Lock & Edit-->
select the servers (admin and managed Server) and save.--> click Activate All changes.
Redeploy the application.
