I have made a couple of changes:
Now it is possible to open several list and info buffers (using prefix before a command).
Maintainer name in info buffer is now a button: pressing it (with RET or mouse) will make a search for the maintainer packages (prefix works here too).

Running 5.5 U2e and VUM will no longer download software packages from patch source?
We had a vSphere 5.5 cluster configured for us by a 3rd-party through Dell as part of our purchase agreement. We are running vCenter Server 5.5 U2e on Windows 2012 R2 as a physical host. It does run Update Manager. In my most recent check today, Update Manager will scan a host and report patches that are needed. In this case we're at 5.5.0 Build 2456374 on our ESXi hosts. Update Manager detects 5 missing patches. After I put the host in maintenance mode, I remediate, select the patch group, and proceed through the screens. It starts its process and goes from 0% to 16% to 25% then sits there for about 1–3 minutes, then goes to 90%, 91%, and errors out saying:
"Cannot download software packages from patch source. Check the events and the Update Manager log for download details."
Multiple strange things:
This server was updating just fine a few months back when some previous patches were released.
It can see the internet just fine. No firewall issues.
Our failover site on the same network, but in a different location in the city is able to update just fine. Same hardware, network, and software versions.
Any ideas on where to look or what to try? I had gone ahead and update from vCenter Server 5.5 U2b to U2e (along with a VUM reinstall) hoping that would fix it, but it did not. Any help would be greatly appreciated, because we're not VMware experts and thought everything was set up correctly by the vendor. We were given a small amount of knowledge transfer, but nothing that would allow us to troubleshoot this.
The Update Manager config listed in vCenter Server points to just three sources, that look to be the default from hostupdate.vmware.com and vapp-updates.vmware.com. None of the settings have been changed from the initial install and configuration that were working at one point in the last few months (when I last patched the hosts to 2456374).
Looking through the vmware-vum-server-log4cpp.log I see these failures:

Ok, that's cool. But here's my question then. Why is Update Manager still reporting that it's an available patch for our ESXi hosts? I'm new to this and am just trying to get an understanding to avoid confusion like this in the future.

Looks like this was the problem. VMwareCares Twitter account confirmed that Update Manager needed a new repository query to grab the new metadata. After rescanning the ESXi host again, the number of available patches dropped from 5 to 1. I'm now successfully patching the ESXi hosts through Update Manager once again. Crisis avoided. -

for a windown server u can use VNC (virtual network connection) which opens a session on u r desktop later u can drag and drop form there vice versa and for a linux box you can use Win SCP which helps to open a session with interface to u r desktop in both cases you can upload and down load files very easiy just as we drag and drop items in a simple pc .. we use the same technique...

For voice memos, I have include voice memos when syncing selected under the Music tab for my iPhone sync preferences with iTunes which transfers voice memos from my iPhone to my iTunes library when syncing. -

Searching for and Creating New Packages -- READ THIS FIRST
This is here simply for historical reasons nowadays, to serve as a reminder to all why the AUR is such a great thing. The original text follows:

It has occurred to me that there is alot of reinventing the wheel going on around here. There are copies of virtually the same PKGBUILD made by three or four different people that failed to check if it already existed floating around.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR FINDING OUT IF A PACKAGE ALREADY EXISTS:
1. Check to see if it's in an official repo: http://www.archlinux.org/packages.php (or use pacman -Ss pkgname)
2.. Check to see if it's in an unofficial repo or tur: http://wiki2.archlinux.org/index.php/Un … positories and http://xentac.net/~tur/repos.php
3. Check if it has been posted in this forum before: http://bbs.archlinux.org/search.php in that dialogue, I suggest that you select "New and Requested Packages" from the Forum: menu, this way you get only the results you're interested in.
4. Check in incoming (soon to be deprecated, and already a mess, but you may just find it there...) ftp://ftp.archlinux.org/incoming
5. If you didn't find it in any of these places, then it has more than likely not been packaged before, and you can go ahead and follow the instructions at http://archlinux.org/docs/en/guide/inst … e.html#abs to package it, then share it on the forums.
Thank you for your cooperation, and happy packaging!There has been some confusion going around when contributing packages. A lot of changes are going on now with the new TUR system, the AUR. The new AUR will have a nice systematic way of submitting packages. But currently, there are two ways to submit packages.
1) Post a PKGBUILD and build scripts of the New and Requested Packages category of the forum. TURs and developers will look through these PKGBUILDs and pick up any that look interesting to them, and put them in a repository.
2) Send a PKGBUILD to the tur-mailing list (http://www.archlinux.org/mailman/listinfo/tur-users/). All the TURs will definately see your PKGBUILD if you post it on the mailing list. Many TURs prefer new packages on the list, because they will definately see it. Some TURs don't look at the forum as much as others.
To be on the safe side, you can do both.
Here are some dont's:
1) DONT submit packages to incoming. No one looks at incoming. Incoming is dead. Incoming is from the old package submittal submission system, which is now being replaced with the AUR.
2) DONT submit packages without PKGBUILD scripts. No one wants a package from an untrusted source that could contain malicious code.
3) DONT forget to include all files in your submission: .install files, PKGBUILDs, startup scripts, etc.
4) DONT put patchfiles up on the forum: the forum will mess up the formatting of the patch. Upload the patch somewhere and post a link.
5) DONT use namcap as your only resource for dependencies. Check ./configure --help, README, INSTALL, and the website of the program. Namcap is a guide, don't use it as truth.
6) DONT use the license field yet. A standard hasn't been decided of what to put there yet, so don't use it yet.
7) DONT add a maintainer comment to your PKGBUILD unless you have a repository and you maintain it. Put a contributor comment instead.

I need to download ~2500 PDF files.
Each one is accessible by entering a search term on a website and clicking a link in the search result to download the PDF.
How can I create an automated process to do the following?
(1) select the first search term from a list in Excel
(2) Enter it into the search field on a specified website
(3) Download a PDF file from a link in the search results.
(4) Repeat using the next search term in the listI need to download ~2500 PDF files.

[Solved] List AUR packages installed and only AUR packages.
Here's a good one. Thought this would be easy but thought it over and then looked around a bit and haven't found anything. There's might just be an easy way to do this that will make me *bonk* my head in the morning but I haven't found it yet. I'm looking to be able to just list the packages I have installed from AUR and not any that I have gotten from the official repos. I've checked out some utilities in AUR (like AURcheck) but as far as I can tell they just look for AUR updates. Anyone know of a way to do this?

@Ghost, I would have used packup but I had a couple downgraded packages and I wanted to be able to troubleshoot it.
The tip about the grep -v doing 'shortnameplus' was a good tip, Profjim. I hadn't read this last post before and during the reinstall I was a bit surprised nvidia wasn't installed so... all is good now.
I created a script to be able to create the backup list and restores from it simliar to ghosts and am able to run it in cron job. Probably not a big deal, but... phhht. Here it is for anyone that can use it:

Can I have more than one Itunes account on my computer. How do I download all info from a different IPhone onto my computer?
Understand, you can sync more than one iPhone on a computer, but they have to be sharing some content. While you can have more than one library on a computer, it is kind of a pain to load and unload it. The only way to have more than one version of Address Book, Calendar, is to have separate logins on the computer.
If you are trying to sync content from another phone to the computer, music only syncs one way, from the computer to the phone, not the other way around. Apps are also locked to the Apple ID that was used to download them, so if they are different, you would need to know the password to both if you wanted to update them.
