Authentication failed in Content Viewer

I have a client who can’t log into Content View with his Adobe I.D., thus he cannot see the project I’m developing for him. When logging in he gets the dreaded “Authentication Failed” message. He has used Content Viewer in the past with no problem, can log into Adobe.com, is connected to the Internet and his account is verified. I even changed his account email address so it would re-verify but to no avail. I know this topic has been discussed here with varing results, but nothing has resolved the issue. I’ve tried his account information on my iPad with the same results, but my account works fine. I chatted online and by phone with tech support, but that was absolutely worthless. He hasn’t tried making a new account, but that really isn't acceptable and doesn't bode a lot of confidence in the product. Thank you.

There is a known issue that's impacting some customers. Can you send me a private message with the Adobe ID of the person having this trouble and I'll have someone from product support investigate and resolve the issue (there's steps they can do that I can't to resolve this)

    From one of our developers:
    The application entity that you created in the previous steps should be changed to indicate that it is in the trusted group. This can be done by adding the “cn=Trusted Applications,cn=groups,cn=oraclecontext” to the orcltrustedapplicationgroup. If you are using oidadmin, you will not see the orcltrustedapplicationgroup property in the default screen – you should click on the radio button that says “show all attributes” and then you will see it.
    The cn=CSGroups is the ldap base for searching groups. You need to enable the group sync in Content Services so that content services groups are synchronized to OID. When you synchronize them, the CS groups may not live in the same group ldap base (the default groups go to cn=groups,cn=oraclecontext,dc=uk,dc=oracle,dc=com). This is used for that purpose. (if you don’t have any CS groups and don’t care and will not create any CS groups, then you don’t have to worry about this)

    I could not sign in to Adobe Content Viewer on iPad using my Adobe ID? Message received was 'Authentication failed'. I tried signed in to Adobe website using the name ID and password, there was no problem. Could someone PLEASE HELP me!

    Check two things:
    1) Make sure your device is connected to the Internet.
    2) Make sure that the Adobe ID you're using is verified to work with DPS. On a computer, sign in to https://digitalpublishing.acrobat.com, and follow the prompts.
    Let us know if you have a valid Adobe ID and you're still getting this error.

    Did you log into http://digitalpublishing.acrobat.com/ with your account, on your PC, and confirm there are no terms and conditions to accept? If so and you still can't log in on your iPad it is likely due to blocked ports by your IT department's firewall.

    Ask your client to sign in to https://digitalpublishing.acrobat.com, not http://acrobat.com. Your client can then verify the account to use DPS.

    It is always a struggle for us. We've got a client struggling with it now -- had created an adobe id a week ago and dow nloaed the app. has followed the troubleshooting guide. but still no luck...

    They need to go to digitalpublishing.acrobat.com, log in with that Adobe ID and accept the terms of use.
    Note: this must be done from a desktop computers. It can't be done from a mobile device.

  • Content Viewer: Folio Download Keeps Failing

    We keep having a problem with downloading an app in the Content Viewer. We have many apps in there, and in this particular case it keeps giving us a download error typically right on the 50.0MB mark (of a 460MB folio). For this app we have an English and French version, but while the works fine this other one keeps failing every single time.
    I've tried downloading it at different locations because we've experienced errors in the past with Wi-Fi settings screwing it up ... but to no avail. I just can't seem to solve it this time. All of our other apps still download and update fine but just this one will never work. It reaches that same point in the transfer, times out, then fails.
    Has anyone else experienced this problem and found a resolution? Thanks for reading.

    Same size (1024x768) but different folio names, like FOLIONAME and FOLIONAME_FR. We have several projects like this where one is English and there is another French version as a separate folio. In the past this project was working fine but we recently added a bunch of new videos to each folio but since that time the error started happening. It added a fair bit of file size to everything but only the one article in each folio changed.
    Edit: I also tried deleting the recently updated article and adding it again. Nada.

    Hi I have an adobe id and am a creative cloud subscriber. I just downloaded the adobe content viewer app to my new retina display ipad and for some reason the authentication has an error. I am using the same user id and password so i am not sure what is going on. I have also verified the email that I am using for my adobe id. Any ideas?

    I heard that there was a problem with Authentification failed messages with Adobe Content Viewer this morning with a server issue but I am running into those issues tonight. System Staus reads green. All my log-in info works in other places. What's up?

    The more disturbing thing is that the installer claims the installation succeeded, even though the ACV installation failed.  I can install ACV by hand (by running "Install Adobe Content Viewer.app").  This is occurring inside a VMware Fusion VM with Mac OS X 10.8.2 (I'm using a VM because I have to build a distribution from the product of installing the AIR-based DPS Desktop Tools installer.  This has not been an issue with previous revisions of DPS Desktop Tools).

  • Content Viewer app for iPad not logging in?

    I've checked all the boxes in troubleshooting this, they don't apply. Log in first via website, check, on both Windows Chrome and iPad Safari, still get Authentication Failed error with identical logon info from the Content Viewer app.
    Online chat help could only suggest that an Adobe server was having issues. The DPS portal currently reports no issues with the web Content Viewer, not sure that is the same thing as the iPad app. Maybe DPS folks just don't know about this one yet, and they've left the building for a week on holiday.
    Anyone here have any ideas? I'm not a DPS subscriber, and the app does not seem to require that, only an Adobe ID, which I created years ago and which is still working through the web. I need the content viewer for iPad to review work by people who are subscribers to DPS.

    On a computer, sign in to http://digitalpublishing.acrobat.com and follow the prompts to verify your email account with DPS. You should then be able to sign in.
