Authentication failed in rest service

Hi All,
I have created a small process in workbench, when i am trying to access it through url. It is asking me for the user name and password. So i entered my default user name and password (administrator/password), but authentication is failed.
So i am wondring which username and password i have to use.
I am using workbench ES3

Supply same login credentials what used to login to workbench/adminui, it should work. Also you can skip the authentication step by follwing the below steps on adminui after login: (These ateps on LiveCycle ES2)
1. Browse to the service (Home > Services > Applications and Services > Service Management) and select the service/process
2. Go the security TAB and select "NO" to "Require callers to authenticate:" also select "Run As:" to "System" then save.
3. Try the url, it should skip the authentication step.

Can you confirm what is meant my step 3b
"It must have set the orcltrustedapplicationgroup attribute in the application entity to the group: cn=Trusted Applications,cn=groups,cn=oraclecontext. "
I also don't have the "cn=CSGroups" LDAP group base. I have set the value to be "cn=OCS_PORTAL_USERS,cn=groups,dc=uk,dc=oracle,dc=com" Is this an issue?
The crawler is only using 1 thread but I am seeing the error

From one of our developers:
The application entity that you created in the previous steps should be changed to indicate that it is in the trusted group. This can be done by adding the “cn=Trusted Applications,cn=groups,cn=oraclecontext” to the orcltrustedapplicationgroup. If you are using oidadmin, you will not see the orcltrustedapplicationgroup property in the default screen – you should click on the radio button that says “show all attributes” and then you will see it.
The cn=CSGroups is the ldap base for searching groups. You need to enable the group sync in Content Services so that content services groups are synchronized to OID. When you synchronize them, the CS groups may not live in the same group ldap base (the default groups go to cn=groups,cn=oraclecontext,dc=uk,dc=oracle,dc=com). This is used for that purpose. (if you don’t have any CS groups and don’t care and will not create any CS groups, then you don’t have to worry about this)

Essbase Error 1051440 - Authentication fails for user admin

We are facing a very unique problem...
The application is up & running.. even I can login into the application, can perform member addition, editing & mamage database from planning.... but I get this error while retreiving from excel addin or running scripts.
What I analysed is that this problem is Actually coming when a particular set of members are called anywhere either in scripts or during retreival thru Addin.
Recently we had added one dimension in one of the database of our application. After that that this problem started.
There were fewer Xref functions used to pull data from other cubes.... The problem is cominng with only those set of members where this Xref function has been used.
Even I had changed the formulas & incorporated member of new dimension in the formulas to point to target members....
Can you guys ever had faced such kind of issue....

are you sure that user "admin" has all necessary rights to run your scripts? I have to ask because we sometimes had problems with our admin user... There is an "native essbase server admin" and the admin user in shared services.
We dont had any idea how this could happen but sometimes our admin user changed to the mentioned "native essbase server admin" - you can see it if you are connected as "admin (internal)".
If you are logged in as "admin (internal)" you have to "externalize" this user.

They already changed the password for service accounts running using that admin account with new password. There is no issues in domain other than this, users can login and services are fine. However, account lockout policy is disabled and if it is enabled
I think they will have a huge issue due to this Kerberos authentication failure.

Did you confirm the time sync issue?
The error code 0x25, means Workstation’s clock too far out of sync with the DC’s , so i suggest you could check the time snyc of the computer failing pre-auth with DC firstly.

SAP Business One Integration Services Authentication Failed

ALL SAP forum members,
Iam Using SAP Business One 8.81 PL 06, Micorsoft SQL 2008 R2
In SLD B1DI and JDBC, the connections were tested successfully.
Whenever I log into SBO, I am getting "SAP Business One Integration Services Authentication Failed" error message. I did extensive research on all possible SBO documents dating 1 year back especially in B1ic Troubleshooting Document (New and Old) and searched the length of the SBO forums, but I could not a solution.
I uninstalled and reinstalled the B1f package many a time. The integration services we re also restarted many times and the connections were all tested successfully. Firewall, AntiVirus also checked.
In the B1f, in the Monitoring Window, the login is "Ok" but the AuthCheck is "Failed". I checked Authent.Monitor->Authentic Info and I found the following message under Action message "Wrong Usrname and Password".
I debugged and i found again "/com.sap.b1i.vplatform.scenarios.authen/sap.Xcelsius/Authenticate_Check.bfd
But could not understand much of it.
But i could go no further. The experts are requested to suggest their solutions, If any, to me as Iam stuck in this phase for the last 3 week

And frankly speaking i dont know how it was solved. I have not uninstall, install ,not even i had restarted the server also.
only change i did in SLD >> Maintainance >>> cfg Runtime >>>> Put server IP address instead of server Name and restarted the services.

[OSB1031] how to call a RESTful service from OSB with authentication

Hi all,
I called successfully a RESTful service from OSB.
We have a business service, named OrderTracer, that wraps the call to the RESTful service.
The RESTful service requires an authentication so we are trying to find out how the OSB business service should authenticate itself against the RESTful service.
In addition the RESTful service accepts username/password coded as base64.
So we defined a Service Account with static resource type and we added the reference to this service account in the business service.
But when the OSB business service calls the RESTful service, we got an error:

External REST Service Authentication

Hello everyone.
Often creating complex business application using SharePoint Online, I need to externalize business logic to external service in order to use .net code and third-party assemblies.
In my case I'm developing a Rest Service hosted by an Azure Web Site.
My question is:
Can I obtain an access Token from SharePoint, containing the current user information, pass it to external Rest Service and then reuse it to return to SharePoint using the current user credentials?
Can you give be documentation about it?

Currently i am assuming it like this
You have a SharePoint online where you are running workflow from where you call an external rest service request.
from this rest service you want to query sharePoint online using Current user context.
if that is the case the above method can be also and cannot be ni will explain how
when you care an app than you can get data from sharePoint using 2 authentication context 1 is User 2nd is App Only.
but to create a user context / access token user must be present as it uses browser redirection to generate a token and pop up a dialog to user to provide credentials.
but to get the app only context you can do it without any pop or user interaction where you call the sharepoint using app client ID and Secret.
now it depends on your requirement what you want to do if your external rest service just require current user information from sharepoint than you can modify your Opeartion contract so that you can pass current user name in Rest method body param. and use
the app only access token to get data filtered by current user Name.
So there are possibility if you can explain in detail what exactly you want to do than we can figure out a solution for you.

Remote Management - Rights Authentication Failed

Since upgrading from zenworks 10 to zenworks 11 I am getting the following error when I try to remote to workstations. I am not receiving this on all workstations, just some.
Zenworks Remote Management
Rights Authentication failed. An internal error occured while validating
information about the managed device. If the problem persists, contact
Novell Technical Services.
I cannot find any info on this particular error. Workstations are Windows XP SP3. This error did not occur before the upgrade to Zen 11.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Getting "Origin is not allowed" When Trying to Invoke RESTful Service from Another Domain

I am having problems trying to invoke my RESTful web service from a different domain. I'm well aware of the normal restrictions of cross-site / cross-domain scripting but in Oracle documentation it says that all origins are allowed by default when creating a RESTful service without using authentication.
I have created a very simple service and am trying to invoke it using jQuery.Ajax calls from a different domain and I am getting XMLHttpRequest cannot load http://address_to_my_web_service. Origin http://calling_from_address is not allowed by Access-Control-Allow-Origin.
I understand that using JSONP instead of JSON is actually the best practice around cross-site scripting but it appears as though APEX does not support JSONP because with JSONP, there are URI parameters added to the base request (callback).
I am stuck and would greatly appreciate any help.
I'm starting to wonder if this could be a bug because Oracle documentation says all origins should be allowed when using a service that does not require authentication. I also tried to force the origin to be allowed by typing it in and also using the wildcard '*' and it still did not work.

EDIT: It is now working after adding a URI prefix to my web service module.

The SSL handshake works differently to a browser as it is making the connections automatically.
The browser asks every time if you want to trust an expired certificate, and it also recommends not to. Its impractical to manually check every service call to say do you trust the certificate so the functionality doesn't exist. I doubt any integration product does this. Therefore there isn't a option to ignore the certificate if it has expired.
This makes sence as the certificate is untrustworthy. The whole idea around SSL is trusting the site you are communicating with, all parties need to be trusted. This stops hackers from replicating their site and intercepting data.
If the administrator of the remote site is not willing to renew the certificate, are they really interested in SSL. I suggest they expose a non SSL service.

OBIA 7.9.5 EBS Integration Not Logged On nQSError 43001 Authentication Fail

I'm attempting to get Oracle Business Intelligence Applications 7.9.5 / OBIEE 10.1.3.3.2 integrated into the eBusiness Suite 11.5.10.2 per Metalink Note 552735.1. At the moment not an action link, just menu option to SA Administrator.
I've run into and worked around a number of problems with the Initialization block variables setup in OracleBIAnalyticsApps.rpd and now no longer get errors in the NQServer.log after disabling Initialization Blocks for Siebel/Peoplesoft and disabling 2 EBS specific Init blocks that were erroring; 'Inventory Organizations' and 'Ledgers' I'll fix those later.
However, now I get an error in the sawlog0.log file as follows:

The strange thing is both Gareth and I have configured OBIA/OBIEE on a Linux server and local authentication works fine. Once we enable external EBS authentication, we get the error listed above.
Does anyone who has done the OBIA EBS integration with OBIEE running on Linux have an example of the odbc.ini file. It appears that even though we have reconfigured OracleBIAnalyticsApps.rpd to use OCI everywhere, that there is still some hard coded ODBC references for external authentication.

To verify the name of the cookie, using Firefox, check the name of the cookie created under the us.oracle.com domain (or the domain where your Oracle E-Business Suite Application server is running). Please note that the cookie name is case sensitive.

BO XI 3.1 : Active Directory Authentication failed to get the Active Directory groups

Dear all
        In our environment, there are 2 domain (domain A and B); it works well all the time. Today, all the user belong to domain A are not logi n; for user in domain B, all of them can log in but BO server response is very slowly. and there is error message popup when opening Webi report for domain B user. Below are the error message:
       " Active Directory Authentication failed to get the Active Directory groups for the account with ID:XXXX; pls make sure this account is valid and belongs to an accessible domain"
      Anyone has encountered similar issue?

Please get in touch with your AD team and verify if there are any changes applied to the domain controller and there are no network issues.
Also since this is a multi domain, make sure you have 2 way transitive forest trust as mentioned in SAP Note : 1323391 and FQDN for Directory servers are maintained in registry as per 1199995

User Authentication Failed error when trying to display a JSP portlet

The steps carried out are as follows :
1. Created a JSP file named "c.jsp" and deployed it under 902_MidTier_Home\j2ee\home\default-web-app\examples\jsp
2. Created a table named USER_TABLE under Scott schema to store the usernames and passwords to validate this JSP application.
3. Registered this JSP as an external application with the following values :
Application Name : RAGHU
Login URL : http://hostname:port/j2ee/examples/jsp/c.jsp
User Name/ID Field Name : username
Password Field Name : password
Type of Authentication Used : POST
3. Clicked on the External Application and entered the username as USER1 and password as USER1 ( These values are available
under USER_TABLE for comparison ). Then it shows the message "Hi User1 .. Welcome message"
4. Now created a directory named JSPSAMPLE under "WEB-INF\Providers" and put the provider.xml file under this.
Created a raghu.properties file and placed it under "WEB-INF\deployment".
5. Now tested the testpage using the URL " http://hostname:port/jpdk/providers/raghu " and it works fine.
6. Registered this as a provider in Portal and added this portlet onto a page. Assigned this page to a newly created user.
It gives the message " Authentication Failed - Update Login Information " which is expected. I click on the link and
it takes me to the external application username password. I enter the credentials but this time it comes back again
to the page with the same message " Authentication Failed - Update Login Information ".
7. Basically the values are not passed to the Username and Password in jsp page which is why the problem occurs.

As I can see from the information posted, you are trying to
use URL-based portlet's SSO feature, though not in a correct
way.
The SSO feature of URL-based portlets relie on the usage
of Cookies as authentication tokens. For example, in the
present context, http://hostname:port/j2ee/examples/jsp/c.jsp
will write a cookie to the client upon successfull authentication.
Subsequent access to the same JSP or some other JSP in the same
workspace should be checking for the existence of this particular
cookie at the client side and if found should not prompt for
user information again.
If you can fine tune your existing applications as per above
conditions, then everything should work fine. Else you might
want to use page parameters to pass user information.

Restful service unable to insert data using PL/SQL.

Am running: AL 2.01 standalone mode on OEL 4.8 in VM box A.
Oracle database 10.2.0.4 with Apex 4.2.0.00.27 on OEL4.8 in VM box B.
Able to performed oracle.example.hr Restful services with no problem.
Unable to insert data using AL 2.0.1 but works on AL 1.1.4.

Note how the error is reported to be a column 74 on line 2, yet line 2 of the above block should only have 58 characters, so at a pure guess somehow there's extra whitespace on line 2, that is confusing the PL/SQL compiler, I suggest re-typing the PL/SQL handler manually and seeing if that cures the problem.
