Authorisation for Job Scheduling

Please let me know the authorisation and Transaction code to be given for job Scheduling
Thanks in advance

Hello balaji,
The transaction code for jobschedulingpurposes is SM36. Along with it you can also give transactions like SM37 for which can be used for making changes to the jobs if any or for viewingjob status etc. You may also give users access to transaction SMX for viewing their own jobs.
Apart from this the authroizations can be controlled through several authroization objectslike s_btch_admi, s_btchname '(if i rememeber correctly) etc.
For getting a list of all these authorization objects simple create a role with SM36/SM37 in it and look for the auth objects present in it. Then to decide on the values of these look for authroization object documentation in transaction SU21.
I hope it clears some of our doubts. Please getback in case of any more queries.
Please award points accordingly.
Regards.
Ruchit.

  • Please help for job schedule

    i need create job schedule to be run daily at 1 AM the goal of this job to run the following query
    Delete
    From EJARIN.TEMP_CONTRACT_PROPERTIES TCP
    Where TCP.ENTRY_DATE<=to_date(sysdate-1);
    Commit;
    please help

    If you are in 9.2 or older release, you have just the Package DBMS_JOB to manage the Job.
    If you are in 10.1 or later release, DBMS_JOB or DBMS_SCHEDULER. But, it's recommended to use DBMS_SCHEDULER as it's a much more powerful tool.
    By using DBMS_JOB, you can create a Job like that:
    Just create a stored procedure which do your requirment then you can create job like below based on version..
    Example 1
    begin
      dbms_job.submit(:jobno,
                      '<PL/SQL stored procedure>;',
                       to_date('<date>','dd-mm-yyyy HH24:MI:SS'),
                      'SYSDATE + 1');
      commit;
    end;
    print jobno;By using DBMS_SCHEDULER, you can do like that for a STORED PROCEDURE:
    BEGIN
    DBMS_SCHEDULER.CREATE_JOB(
    job_name => '<job_name>',
    job_type => 'STORED_PRODECURE',
    job_action => '<schema>.<stored procedure>',
    repeat_interval => 'FREQ=DAYLY;BYHOUR=<hh>;BYMINUTE=<mm>;BYSECOND=<ss>',
    enabled => TRUE)
    END;best regards

    Thanks in Advance.
    Puneet.

    Hi Puneet,
    Goto transaction SM62 and in there to BckProcEvents tab. There you can create the events.
    You just need to specify the name and Description of an event.
    Hope this serves your purpose.

  • Job Scheduler DS consumes all connections in Pool.

    Hi all,
    I use Weblogic 12.1.3.
    My objective is to create a job scheduler, with commonj Timer API to run a in a cluster environment.
    For this, I created a cluster with two node servers (I created this in the integrated weblogic server in Jdeveloper, for simplicity).
    Then I created the DataSource which points to the table where the weblogic_timers and active tables are, which are needed for persistance of the timers, targeted this DS on the nodes in the cluster, and then went to the Cluster -> Configuration -> Scheduling and selected the respective data source as "Data Source For Job Scheduler".
    After I do this and the servers are up, all the connections in the DS pool are consumed. It seems like connections are continuosly made from weblogic to the database.
    The connection itself seems ok, since I can connect from SQLDeveloper and also tested it when I created the DataSource.
    If I have a look in the logs of the two servers, I see errors like this:
    <BEA-000627> <Reached maximum capacity of pool "JDBC Data Source-2", making "0" new resource instances instead of "1".>
    Can you give me an idea of what the issue might be?
    Please let me know if I should provide more information.
    Thanks.

    It's not an issue WebLogic can address. The thortech application is independently using
    the UCP connection pool product, not WebLogic connection pooling, so Thortech APIs
    would be the only way to debug/reconfigure the UCP.

  • Best SAP Security Practices Print,file,job schedule, archiving

    Hello All, i would like to know in your experience which will be the best practices for Security  for this list below:
    - Printer security (especially check printing)
    - File path security for export/import
    - Best Practice for Job Schedule and Spool file
    - Archiving process (I can't think of any specific to security, other than Security Audit Logs)
    Are there any special transactions/system settings/parameters that must be on place in order to hard SAP Systems?
    Do you have any documentation related?
    I mean for example Job, spool i think user must just only run heir own jobs,and se their own works for printing, is there a paremeter to athenticate Prints/user, etc.
    Please let me know your comments about those related issues.
    I appreciate your help.
    Thanks a lot.

    Hi,
    PFCG_TIME_DEPENDENCY
    This is best to run once a day mostly after 12.01 am as it removes the roles which are invalid for current date. As role assignment is on date basis there is no advantage of running it hourly.
    /VIRSA/ZVFATBAK
    This is for GRC 5.3, and this job is to collect FFID logs from backend to GRC repository, so if you have frequent FFID usage you can schedule it hourly or for every 30 min too, if you have enough bandwidth in your server to get the latest log report. or else you can have it scheduled for twice a day too, so it is purely based on your need.
    Hope this helps.

  • Configuration Guide Job Scheduling Management with SAP Solution Manager

    Dear Gurus
    Could you please help me with the configuration guide of the Job Scheduling Management with SAP Solution Manager
    Best Regards

    Hello Luis,
    the configuration activities can be accessed via the "Implementatiopn Guide" by calling transaction SPRO in your SAP Solution Manager system.
    In SPRO navigate to -> SAP Solution Manager -> Scenario-Specific Settings -> Job Scheduling Management -> Standard Configuration and execute the following two activities.
    1. Activate Solution Manager Services
    2. Set Up Work Center for Job Scheduling Management
    Make sure that your user has role SAP_SM_SCHEDULER_EXE (or_ADMIN) assigned.
    Afterwards you should be able to access the Job Management Work Center and to create Job Documentation or to import Jobs from a Managed System into new Job Documentations.
    The following SAP notes might be usefuly as well:

  • Job Scheduling using server pool

    Is there any way to use a pool of servers for job scheduling?
    I know you can tell it the target server you want, but I want it to find an available server from a list.
    The reason is, the job runs software on the app server.  Not all app servers have this software installed.  But it is installed on more than one.  I want it to find an available server, but only one that has the software installed.  It would be great to somehow define a pool of servers where the job can run.
    I don't think I can get creative with job class.  This looks at all work processes on all servers.
    If I go this way, I'd have to set all work processes as A on the servers I don't want to use, and set my job as B.  That is definately not an option.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks

    Hello dskdell,
    I guess u want to use some kind of load balancing with the background servers,
    well when u define a job,dont give the server name there,then it will look for the available server and schedule the job there
    " Although a job can specify to use a particular background server (an application server that has at least one background work process), it is best to allow the background processing system to use load balancing to distribute the workload among the available servers"
    Refer to http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/en/4a/2d513897110872e10000009b38f889/frameset.htm

    background jobscheduling for file adapter...
    you can schedule the file adapter according to your requirement as follows:
    In the  Communication Channel Monitoring Locate the link Availability Time Planning,  In Availability Time Planning, choose the Availability time as daily and say create, give the time details, select the communication channel in your case file adapter , goto the Communication Channels tab and filter and add the respective channel, save it

    Hi!
    You have to pass two parameters for job control scheduling.In that you have traffic light for the respective parameters,defaulty those will appear in red.when you have specified parameters,both turns in to green.then you can say start.hope this will helps.....

    But now when a network error or database error, the JDBC Sender Communication channels that were open to connection, are blocked.
    Even following the instructions in [SAP Note 1083488 - XI FTP_JDBC sender channel stop polling indefinitely (04_04S)|https://websmp230.sap-ag.de/sap(bD1wdCZjPTAwMQ==)/bc/bsp/spn/sapnotes/index2.htm?numm=1083488] the problem continues.

    Hi,
    Here is complete code which I tested on 10.2.0.4 which shows a second job that runs after a first job starts and also when it has exceeded its max run duration. It doesn't have the condition but just runs on every event raised, but the job only raises the 2 events.
    Hope this helps,

  • Obtain Job invoker for a SSIS job scheduled in SQL Server Agent

    Hello,
    I was required to tell the job runner of a particular SSIS job scheduled in SQL Server Agent (in SQL Server Management Studio 2008 R2). I noticed that after running the job, a record can be found in msdb.dbo.sysjobhistory in the [message] columm saying that
    the job is invoked by 'Domain\User'. Is there anyway I can acquire and upload that information into an audit table by adding some additional script into the job? I heard about using token to get job_ID, but what about the actual user name who runs
    the job?
    Thanks

    Just add retry attempts to whatever number you want (2 as per your original explanation) in Job step properties as below
    Have a logic to include a delay of 10 mins . You can make use of WAITFOR function for that
