Authorization to modify query

Hi all,
i'm creating a role and i need that users with this role can create, modify and execute queries.
When a user try to modify a query that already exist, Query Designer says that the Bex Order doesn't exist and no authorization to visualize.
The Bex order is created so i think this is an authorization problem.
any ideas of how to solve this ?

You have to assign S_RS_COMP1 also for the reporting user and also check if you have given them S_BDS_DS and S_GUI , so that they can save back the changes ...

Then we checked authorization check log and it show "You do not have sufficient authorization on Z3XXX = ' WCO'.
But when we execute the related query with same condition. the query can open and show WZA's data.
I'd like to know the reason.

Authorizations for adhoc query

Hi all,
I am facing a problem with authorization on adhoc query. The following is what I am trying to achieve: Power Users are able to design a query but they are only allowed to save the query with the prefix "p_"
In PFCG I have set this up in s_rs_comp and s_rs_comp1 but I am still able to save the query under z_...... The role I have setup is quite plain, it has s_rfc, s_tcode, s_rscomp,
s_rscomp1 en s_rsicube. Have I forgot to setup something else?
anyone any idea?

I am trying to make it so my users can only save queries with the prefix "Y" I guess my problem is sort of the reverse of yours.

Authorization for ABAP Query

Hello all,
Can I benefit a little from your experience with SAP Query(ABAP) and Adhoc Query(ABAP)?
My customer want to use both SAP Query and Adhoc Query.
And they want to separate for SAP Query as preset report program and Adhoc Query as general-purpose reporting tool.
And I want to know how to separate authorizations of SAP Query and Adhoc Query as below.
As for SAP Query, users can only execute and cannnot change or delete it.
As for Adhoc Query, users can save Queries they created or changed in Adhoc Query.
I know there is only one authorization object for SAP Query:S_QUERY
Is there any solution for that kind of request?

We have check in the abap program ask you functional to give the authorization object i.e. y_k_autchk
and ask him for which filed we have to give authorizaion.
AUTHORITY-CHECK OBJECT y_k_autchk

Cfldap modify query to add members to group

Hi,
I am trying to add new members to the group using cfldap modify query.
i am able replace with one member with the other but the requirement is like that we supposed to add new member with the existing one.
query that i have used is

Authorization on Modify Y* Query and View Z* Query

Hi Experts,
is it possible to allow user to modify only Y* query and to display Z* and Y* query?
I add two times S_RS_COMP (&S_RS_COMP1) in the SAME role (PFCG), one time allowing ALL activities for Y* query and othe allowing only display activity on Z* query...but it doesn't work! I have to do 2 different roles and add the two roles to the user?
Any hints will be rewarded.

mentioning in one role or two roles depends on your requirement.
if you are planning of using one role, entries should be as below.
S_RS_COMP
          actvt --03, 16
          rszcompid -- Z*
S_RS_COMP

          rszcompid ---Z, Y

Modify Query in Production System !

Hello SDN s,
How ya all ?
We want to Modify a Query by inserting one more InfoObject in the Production System. When we try to Drag & Drop the InfoObject from the Dimension to the Free Characteristics it showed blocked symbol and hence we are unable to modify the Query.
We do have to Query in the Development but cannot use that for Transport as it holds another Query Structure which is used by another Production System.
Could anyone suggest us how to modify the Query ?
Will there be any authorization to maintain for the user ?

Authorization in BEx Query Designer: "read only" for definitions of variables

Hello,
I`m developing a concept of authorizations for key user who should be able to maintain certain
objects in the query designer. For other objects they should have access “read only”.
The users have authorizations to design new queries. They should be able to use existing variables
(SAP Business Content ( 0*) and customer variables (z*). On this point, I have a problem: in the selection window of the query designer there are only buttons to create, to delete and to edit a variable.
The user must have authorizations for changing, although he just wants to look for the definition
of a variable (if he wants to see their basic or global settings before using the variable).
I can´t find a possibility to switch from “edit” to “read only”.
The users should only see and apply variables from others (SAP, collegues), but he mustn´t be able to
change them.
The user needs the following authorization objects: S_RS_COMP , activity =02 (change), also
authorization object S_RS_COMP1. If I give the users only activity 03 (display),
the user get the message: “display not allowed”.
Is there any possibility to give a key user the authorization to display all variables with
their definitions?

This is may be due to the authorization but still you can check the consistency check for these queries using RSRV.

How can i check the authorizations for a query in sap bw 3.1c

While running one query i am getting warning message is : you do not have authorization to read object ZVERSION and few column results also not displaying.
I would like to check is there any authorization check for this query and could you explain how we use the authorizations in our BW.

if you execute su53, the authorization check failed cannot be displayed for reports. because you are executing query in BEx is it?
for this you can trace the userid that executing query to check the authorization check failed. Go to st01 and find out the authorization check failed there.
And you can find in RSRT too. i am not sure that.
One more option is there to check the authorization with help of matrix that you prepared for assigning access/authorization to the users.

Are there any ways to modify the query used in materialized view without dropping the materialized view. I dont think alter materialized view has such an option.
Please provider me your suggestions.

User Authorization for a Query

I have assigned a single role to a user, in which I have authorization for all the Infoproviders, including authorization for reporting. The user is able to access most of the queries, except one query. If there is a problem, he should not have accessed all the queries.
What problem could have prevented the user from accessing on particular query???

Some possibilities:
The one query which the user is not able to run , who is the author of this query?
You need to give authirozation for the object S_RS_COMP1.
If the user has authorization for this object, then the next possibility is:
The query may have a filter or a characteristic value for which the value is not set for the user.

User with authorization to modify an specific field into the G/L Account

Hi everyone,
I´d would like to know if It´s possile GIVE AUTHORITY ONLY to some users will be able to modify the field SKB1 - ALTKT into the G/L Account Master Data through transacction FS02. In this way, only the selected users could introduce or modify information on this field.
I´m not sure if it can be done trough a new Z object and assign the object to the transacction and also in the user profiles..or in other way...

I'm worried but there is no field group authorization for G/L account like customers and vendors. In customers and vendors you're grouping your changable fields and give auth for it. But in G/L master data, there is no solution like this.
So I think you can use business transaction event for validation. You should use 00002310 BTE for this action.
In this exit, you can validate I_SKB1-ALTKT is equal to SKB1-ALTKT for special user. You should create a user parameter like ZALKT and this 'X' value to this parameter for special user. And check user auth for parameter ZALKT = 'X' and then if it's ok compare I_SKB1 and database table SKB1 for ALTKT field. If this two value doesn't equal you can give error message while saving G/L account changes.

Partial Authorization problem in Query for HR

Hi,
I have written a query which is having fields from infotypes 0001,0002,0040,0019.
One of my end-user has access to all infotypes but only subtype 06 of infotype 0040(loans).
Ive Object on loan which is Subtype of Infotype 0040 in Program Selection in SAP Query.
When I execute the query from My ID I can see the output for PERNR say 1041.Because I have access to all subtypes.
But when my end-user runs this query with subtype 06(for which he has authorization) he does not get the output.
(The pernr is getting rejected)
I added partial authorization switch in INITIALIZATION.
*$HR$ [COMMON]
*$HR$ PROC_PERNR_PARTIAL_AUT = 'X'.
Still from his ID that PERNR is not getting processed.
Please guide me If I am missing something.

Authorization issue in query

Hi,
We have created a autharization object for sales org and restricted with few values.
I tried to execute the query one id (Say A) but it is showing no authorization.
I executed the same query with ID say B and it was executed sucessfully.
I created a test query for the same multicube and executed with id 'A' and it was
executed sucessfully.I dont know why it is happening. Can some body help me.
Any way of analysis is also welcomed.

just now i faced the same problem and i resolved.very lucky that i got the same question.go to RSSM and give the particular object and check the authorizations there and you can set the otherizations for your self if you have the rights.otherwise contact your admin(PM or TL) rights provided guy and get the authorizations .

Problem saving a modified query

Hi Folks,
I am trying to modify an existing query. when I save the changes it throws a error message saying
"Object ELEM 46I8....................... could not be saved to order BWDK906565"
The above request was all ready created by another user.
Let me know how to resolve this issue.

Maybe there is some issue with that transport. Import that change and then try to save ur change in new transport.
