Authorizations in Appraisals Calibration

Hello Experts,
I have a tricky question on the Objectives Setting & Appraisals module. I indeed want to give access to managers to the calibration tool (BSP application HAP_CALIBRATION). However i obviously don't want them to use this application to view the appraisals content of people who are not under their responsibility.
I tried to modify authorizations in the role assigned to my managers, on object P_HAP_DOC, by assigning a structural profile into authorization field PROFL. In this structural profile, i gave authorization to all direct and indirect reports using function module RH_GET_MANAGER_ASSIGNMENT. Doing so i couldn't have the appraisals template selection anymore in the first calibration page.
I then added in the structural profile authorizations on all objects VA, VB and VC. The effect of this is that now again the manager can see appraisal documents for anyone in the company.
Has anyone any idea on how to restrict manager's accesses so they can perform calibration only on their own direct and indirect reports ?
Thanks a lot !
Sylvain.

I'm not sure if I agree with you Donnie or maybe I'm not understanding what is possible with these settings.  I have an employee that worked somewhere, left the company for several months, and then rehired in a different part of the company.  So the HR person from the original position running PHAP_SEARCH has access to his appraisal document even though he doesn't have access to him anymore.
If I transfer someone directly from original Org Unit to a new Org Unit, that person is no longer visible.  So that stint with withdrawn status is providing access to this employee even though the current record is displaying him in a totally different org.
Do you think the DFCON switch would make a difference?

  • How to restrict Create Authorization in Appraisals to Users?

    Dear HCM Experts:
We are using BSP application hap_document for Business Event Appraisals.
I have used documents_todo.htm for recording the Appraiser/ Particapant ratings.
That is when user click on create button, system should not allow the user to create a new appraisal document.
    My Issue is:
I donot want to give create Appraisal Authorization to User. I tried using Auth Objects: PLOG and P_HAP_DOC but nothings seems to be working.
My requirement is to give only display and change authorization to Users in Appraisals.
    Please suggest if any wayout.
    regards,
    Srikanth Reddy

    Hi Lincoln:
Yes, in the AUTH OBJ even if i give change activity, user is defaulted with create authorization as well.
Possible option that triggered in my mind also is to modify the BSP Application. But i wanted to have the solution in the standard itself.
Thats why i have raised OSS to SAP for solution, lets see.
    Thank you,

  • MSS Edit Appraisals and Authorizations

We are implementing MSS.  We have setup structural authorizations so the manager can see his reports.  We have the situation where previous year appraisals show up for an employee.  However, the manager has changed recently.  The manager cannot see/edit appraisals for his employee if the manager was not the original appraisor, even thow the appraisals show up in the list for the employee.  Any ideas?

    Hi,
An objective setting cycle encompasses the following phases:
    Planning
In a planning consultation, the necessary qualifications and competencies are first identified for an employee and then concrete objectives and required performance levels are agreed. For example, sales targets could be defined and the employee could agree to take on specific tasks in a project, and so on. These aspects can be defined by the manager, by the employee or both. The employeeu2019s personal training and development requirements are discussed and entered in the objective setting agreement.
    Review
During the review, the objectives agreed with the employee during the planning phase are checked and adjusted to reflect the current situation. The manager and employee discuss the possible need for support, establish whether the objectives defined in the planning phase are still relevant, and add further objectives or decide to delete obsolete ones. Furthermore, the manager can make comparisons between the objectives set previously and the employeeu2019s current performance.
    Appraisal
During the appraisal, the manager and employee discuss the extent to which the employee has fulfilled the set objectives. They check and assess the employeeu2019s overall performance and the implementation of concrete set objectives. Any further training requirements or an overfulfillment of the objectives are identified in the different areas. The appraisal document is completed when the manager and employee agree on an valuation. As soon as the appraisal document is saved in the system as Completed or Approved, the employeeu2019s compensation can be adjusted automatically and the employeeu2019s qualifications profile can be updated

  • Is it possible to configure Team calibration for Objective Setting Appraisals in EHP7

    Hi Friends,
We are on EHP7. We have implemented objective setting appraisal for our client.
We have created an appraisal template under category group "Personnel appraisals". We have configured the VA, VB, VC, Column ids.  Status tab flow is used from In preparation - Completed.
The enhancements are used to accommodate customer specific calculations for the scores based on the final ratings.
An additional requirement from the client is; once the appraisal process is over for a team; the team manager should be able to see the scores of his direct reportees in the MSS.
    1) He should be given a provision to modify the final rating score; incase if he finds that one of the team members deserve a better score in line with the comparison of other team members. He should be able to call the template and be able to revise the final ratings from his MSS directly.
    2) When he modifies the final ratings by calling the appraisal template on the MSS; that new score should be stored in the appraisal template (database tables); that is; this should overwrite the final scores which was initially calculated during the final appraisal discussion between the apprasier and appraisee. This new values should be taken for all reporting or new compensation revision process.
Should this requirement be addressed by Assessment of Employees and Calibration Process for Employee Assessments standard configurations?
If that is the option; I have already done these settings for flexible performance appraisal.
But in the MSS > under Talent Management > Assessment
We are getting a blank screen in the "In process & Completed " tabs. No employee is listed.
The calibration grid is empty. But under under talent profile; we are able to see the names of the team members.
Is there any other method available for this purpose ?
Request your comments on options to deliver this functionality.
    Thanks.
    ER.

    Hi Srujan,
For every paying company code you can have multiple sending company codes.
You can make this configuration in FBZP > Paying company codes tab.
Once in 'Paying company codes', here click on 'Company codes' button on top right.
This means you will need all the FBZP setup for your paying company code only.
Also, please refer to below link to configure cross company settings

  • Appraiser Authorization Issue (Objective Settings and Appraisals)

    Hello!
We are currently using Objective Settings and Appraisals for our
performance appraisals. ESS and MSS is also used during the process. We
do not use structural authorizations either.
Authorizations work fine for the vast majority of employees. However, we have an issue with some of our Human Resources users. For his/her ID they have authorization to certain personnel areas. However, his/her appraiser is in a personnel area they do not have authorization for. As a result, the appraisal does not show up when the user access ESS to work on their appraisal.
For example we have an HR user who has access to information in
personnel area 1081. However, her appraiser/manager is actually in 2054. As
a result when she accesses her appraisal it says no entries exist.
One solution we tried was selecting the 'No Authorization Check for Appraiser' on the
template. With this selected, the appraisal shows up with the personnel
number of the appraiser on the listing. When the appraisal is accessed
and the user tries to perform an action, the following error pops up stating the
appraisee person is not allowed and it has the appraiser number within
    the error message.
Currently, we have the HR employee using a different ID for ESS that allows the
user to access the appraisal. Is there anything standard that will
allow the user to view the appraisal without using a different ID?

  • How can I transfer an e book from ADE to calibre and then to a sony ereader on a Mac

Hi, I've read the past forums on this and I'm still having a real problem. I've got a Mac, my ADE is version 1.7 and my Sony reader is a 505. I can download an ebook into ADE but I can't get it into calibre to add it to my Sony, everytime I try an drag it across it won't leave ADE. I can't add it via calibre as the file and library option is greyed out. I've tried to authorise the sony on both the original PC I used it on and the new mac I just bought but can't find this option anywhere. Please help, its driving me nuts ow and I'm not very technical! Thanks in advance.

This is what worked for me:
OK, you've installed Sony eBook Library v3, and Adobe Digital editions, you've set up your accounts and authorized your computer on both of them, and you've authorized your Reader with the Sony Library application.
You go to the public library ebook download page, either through the Sony Library or just through a bookmark.
You check out a book, and open it in Adobe Digital Editions, which still won't recognize your Reader.
BUT, in the Sony Library app, you can now click "File, Import.." and go find the pdf you downloaded with the Adobe app.
On my Mac, it was in ~/Documents/Digital Editions
Import it, and drag it to your Reader.
The first time you do this, it will ask you to authorize the Reader with your Adobe ID.
    Worked like a charm.

  • How to get the data into BW: Extractor 0HR_PA_HAP_3 (appraisals)

    Hi,
I have installed BC for Appraisals. I want to use extractors 0HR_PA_HAP_3 and 0HR_PA_HAP_2. In SAP R/3 RSA3 give me the results I expect (multiple appraisal documents). I get result in RSA3 with or without selection (the selection works correct).
In BW I also installed BC. Every object in the dataflow is active. When loading apraissal data I get 0 records. It does not make any difference what selection I make in the infopackage. The monitor just ends with 'no data selected'.
Does anyone know what can cause the fact that BW does not select any data while RSA3 gives results ?
    Thank

For people who face a similar problem: It turned out to be an authorization problem. The RFC user who accesses R/3  and collects the data did not have sufficient right to excute this. A authorization trace lead us to this.

  • Digital signatures for calibration inspection (inspection type 14)

    Hi,
I want to use digital signatures for results recording and usage decision (ud) when performing a calibration (inspection type 14). Normally you'd set-up the material authorization for digital signatures. But this can't be added to maintenance plans or equipment. Is there any way to set-up digital signatures for calibrations?

  • OSA: ESS not visualize all appraisals

    Hello All,
One of my clients requirements is that appraisees must be able to visualize/modify some of the appraisal templates received but not all.
I have linked the BSP HAP_DOCUMENT to the ESS and stated the start page as: document_received_open2 - Unconcluded Appraisals
    document_received - Concluded Appraisals.
Is there any way to limit which templates are shown through the BSP?
I also thought of adding a custom made implementation that would allow me to limit template visualization.
    Are there any other options??
    Thank you in advance.
    Alex

    Thank you Maurice,
Your answer was helpful but did not solve my problem entirely.
If I create two authorization roles: A: can visualize template X (for managers), B: Can not visualize template X. That would imply that managers would be able to visualize the appraisals received using template X (which I don't want).
I don't have much experience with authorizations but for me the solution would be to show all appraisals of template X except where one is the appraisee and I can't seem to find the means to create an identification profile that would allow me to do this.
For example: User uses appsearch to search for all appraisals of template X. He would see those he created but not the ones he received.

  • Authorization Issue with P_HAP_DOC

    Hi experts,
we have a problem with our authorizations approach concerning the appraisal documents.
The situation is the following: We have two different approaches for appraisals. 1st as a manager you give appraisals to your assigned employees and as the employee you can see the appraisals assigned to you and can maintain in certain statuses. That works fine. So generally the access should be restricted to the line. This is achieved by using structural authorizations for the line manager.
But secondly we have a feedback appraisal where also "further participants" shall give their feedback to any employee. Those further participants do not need to be in the same line!
Currently we ran into the problem that the 2nd scenario is not working because we need also to restrict the access to employees. But if we grant the access with a certain structured profile (that contains all "P") all performance appraisal can be see from everybody.
Can it be that the problem is because the further participants are not treated as appraisers in respect of authorizations.
Does anybody have any idea how to approach a suitable solution? Any help is welcome.
    Please share your thoughts.
    Thanks and regards
      Michael

    Hi Subbu,
thanks for your reply and the helpful comment.
The process is not exactly as you discribed. The scenario where we have the problem is a feedback appraisal that is initiated by the HRBP (business person from HR). He creates the appraisal document with the employee as appraisee and direct manager as appraiser. But additionally the manager can request a second feedback provider who can be place anywhere in the org structure, not necessarily in the same line.
And this is exactly the problem. This person as further participant need to have access to this special appraisal document but not any other of this person (not even to one of the same kind).
Can this requirement be achieved by your suggestion?
What we need for our requirement is that we allow the access to the object P through structural authorizations. He also needs to have access to objects VA, VB and VC to be able to work on any appraisal at all. This combination unfortunatly now leeds to our problem that the employees now can see all appraisals with all results.
    Thanks and regards

  • Performance Appraisals-Only show the document in certain status/substatus

    Hello
We would like the appraisee to see the document only in (Status "X" and Substatus "Y") OR Status = "XX". The Appraisee should NOT have access in any other status. Which BADI/approch can help us meet the requirement? We tried using the BADI HRHAP00_DOC_BC but that does not seem to help.
    Please advise ASAP.

    Hi Swetha,
    1) How do you create the person authorized in the Status flow.
(for eg: I have a scenario like this..The authorized HR person would set objectives for group of employees at the beginning of the year for annual appraisals and also he should be able to change or add more objectives if required in the Review period. After the completion of one year, the Manager, Self and Higher Manager will give their ratings and the final result should be displayed only to the HR Personnel)
I have Appraiser, Appraisee, Part Appraiser, Higher Manager and All users right now in my system and I am using All users.
Ans : Person authorized should be created through the tcode PFAC. This s the place where rules for workflow have to be created. Once it si done here, the corresponding rule has to be added to the Tcode OOHAP_BASIC. The rule add to this tcode will be visible in youe category group and category, template  in PHAP_CATALOG. As far as possible try to use the standard rules available. All the users you have mentioned above have a standard role in SAP.
    2) How would you give authorization to only HR person?
Ans : Can you be more specific here. Like what exactly the HR person has to do?
    3) In Status flow, I can see Workflow event. What is it used for?
Ans : Workflow is used to send the notification and the workitem to the user to whom an appraisal document is available for editing in his inbox.
Eg on a typical case-> If a self appraisal has to be done, then a workflow will be triggered in the beginning of in process phase. Then the appraisal doc wil be available in the inbox of the appraisee.
For workflow and Rules(Agent Determination) related objects have an ABAPer who has worked on Workflow.
    Hope this helps you.
    Regards,
    Subbu.

  • Performance appriasals -authorization objects

    Hi all,
Can anybody share with me all authorization objects of performance appraisals other then pernr ,hp_doc
    Regards,
    hema

    Hi,
The following are the relevant authorization objects for Performance Management:
    S_TCODE, P_TCODE - Transaction authorizations
    P_ORGIN /  P_ORGINCON, P_PERNR - Access to HR Master data
PLOG - Access to objects in the Personnel Planning database
    P_HAP_DOC -  Access to appraisals
Through the various fields in the authorization object, you can control the Activity (display, edit, delete) , Object (persons, appraisal templates) and Content (infotypes) permitted for users with the various roles.
Which combination of the above authorization objects to use depends on the business scenario.

  • MSS Appraisals

Still muddling through the portal trying to implement ESS/MSS appraisals.  We have been successful in getting the ESS Appraisals configured and functioning.  The employee is able to see his appraisal document, open it and edit it.
On the MSS side, the manager can see the appraisal for his employees, but the manager is not able to open the document for edit or display.  He just sees a list of the appraisals and the status of the appraisal.
Is this an R/3 authorization issue or a portal role issue?  I am using the following iview - com.sap.pct.erp.mss.personneldev_appraisals.
I have found several other appraisal iviews but those do not seem to be the correct iviews.  Suggestions....???

Found iview generic_performance_management that will display the MSS appraisals.
