Auto-Start Resumable Session upon TTA restart

We use TTA on our administrative servers and we were wondering if there was
a way to start a resumable application session we defined in the object
manager upon restarting the Tarantella server.
Basically we have a monitoring utility that our admins can view using TTA by
logging into our "Monitor User's" (monuser) webtop. It takes a while for
the app to start up and it also graphs some recent historical data, like
"Windows Task Manager/Performance Tab".
The Ideal Sequence of events:
Tarantella Server gets started (or restarted)
monuser's "monitor_app" gets started in the background somewhere and then
goes into TTA's Object "Suspended" mode
Any Admin user logs in as "monuser" and click's on the resumable session
Admin users can go in and view the suspended monitor_app session
Any ideas?

Cyrus,
As fas as I know, I don't think you can accomplish the above by just
using Tarantella alone.
One idea could be the following (never tried it personally); after the
Tarantella services get restarted, you could write a script which fires
up the Unix/Linux native client (which can be customized via command
line parameters) as to log in using a predetermined account (eg,
monuser) and start your application.
After a certain amount of time, assuming the application is resumable
you could "kill" the script (and the native client itself) so that
Tarantella can suspend your application.
Thus making, as soon as your admins log in using the monuser account,
they __should__ have "presto" access to the suspended application.
More info about customizing the Unix/Linux native client here:

  • Auto-start application on Container/Server restart

What's the easiest was to have the container auto-launch a specific application whenever it is started/restarted? I assume this would also happen if the entire server were rtestarted?

    Hello,
If you put a server in your project and you put the servlet at auto-start your application will start automatically when the server will start.
To do that you just have to use the element:
    <load-on-startup>1</load-on-startup>
    in the servlet tag.
    server.xml:
    <application name="foo" path="../applications/foo.ear" auto-start="true" />
    http-web-site.xml:
    <web-app application="foo" name="foo-web" load-on-startup="true" root="/foo" />

I accidentally chose 'Start New Session' instead of 'Resume Last Session' upon opening. Any way to recover the tabs?

    Hi abass4982,
You could try going to ''History > Restore Previous Session''. It might not work, but it's worth a try!
    Hopefully this helps!

  • Can I auto start ical upon starting the computer?

I would like to have iCal auto start upon turning on the computer.  Can this application auto start?

Opening items automatically when you log in
You can have applications, documents, or server connections open whenever you log in to your computer.
To make items open automatically when you log in:
Choose Apple menu > System Preferences, click Accounts, and then click Login Items.
Open the Login Items pane of Accounts preferences
Click the Add button, below the list of accounts.
Select an application, document, or server volume and click Add.
Select the Hide checkbox by an item you don’t want to be opened.
To temporarily prevent login items from opening when you log in, hold down the Shift key while clicking the Log In button in the login window. Continue to hold down the Shift key until you see the Dock.
To permanently stop an item from opening automatically, select it in the Login Items list and click the Delete button.

Sorry for the vague title. I don't really have any specifics to go on for this problem.
When I try to start a gnome-session through startx, I get a screen that says, "Oh no! Something has gone wrong", with no error outputs in xsession-errors.

I'm pretty lost now. I finally managed to get X working on my Nvidia/Intel combination with twm, but it refuses to work with gnome-session.
    Any ideas?

    Same problem for me too!
After kernel update on restarting GDM try to start but fails. I've last nvidia-173xx driver installed.
I've solved the problem forcing nvdia driver reinstallation. This is my Xserver log!

  • CRS on Redhat 5 auto-start problem

    Dear all
Recently I tried to install Oracle 10gR2 on Redhat 5. I did research and took all the necessary actions to install it on Redhat. Everything went well, according to the documents and at the end of the installation, all the resources were up and running. However, after the install, only the VIP was up and ONS and GSD was in unknown format. When I stop the nodeapps and start it again, everything stars working. It seems that the problem is something to do with boot process. I tried to put some delay ( for OCR mount ) but still no luck. This is the result from crsd.log from node1 when node2 is down.. :

CRS on RHEL 5.5 auto-start problem
    hi all
Recently I install RAC Oracle 10gR2 on Red hat RHEL 5.5. “Two node cluster, iscsi storage, ocfs2 mounted files & ASM ”
I did research and took all the necessary actions to install it on Red hat. Everything went well, according to the documents and at the end of the installation, all the resources were up and running. However, after the install, only the VIP was up and ONS and GSD ,ASM and the other services was in unknown state. When I stop the CRS & start it –all again, everything stars working. Please friends I need to fix this problem because the cluster services and the client workstation are stopping when the servicers is relocated to node 1 after the server reboot because the CRS did not worked still on node and manual starting is taking time.
This is the result from crsd.log from node1 when node is online .

I tired this solution it was on website “but it did not work”
    下面是METALINK给出的解释:
I have checked the information provided. crsd is reporting timeouts when running the checking actions. The racgmain process on the other hand, executed by racgwrap, remain running so the number is increasing. This issue has been reported in Bug 7009245 ""RACGMAIN CHECK" PROCESS NOT TERMINATING", and drill down and determine the root cause this require to get a stack trace from racgmain process(es) as well as you should runOSWatcher with a specific parameters, finally the issue of Bug 7009245 has been fixed by the fix of Bug 6196746 (unpublished bug -- summary is "racgwrap spawns racgmain child process. crsd timeout kills racgwrap but bot racgmain")So please perform the following action plan that intend to solve the issue.
    .ACTION PLAN
    ============
    1. Stop CRS on this node.
    2. Make a copy of racgwrap located under $ORACLE_HOME/bin and $CRS_HOME/bin
    3. Edit the file racgwrap and modify the last 3 lines from:
    .$ORACLE_HOME/bin/racgmain "$@"
    status=$?
    exit $status
    .to:
.# Line added to test fix for Bug 6196746
    exec $ORACLE_HOME/bin/racgmain "$@"
.4. Restart CRS and make sure that all the resources are startes
This should solve the issue. also if you are not able to stop CRS right now, you can try the
    solution without crs stop/start.
    BUT IT DID NOT WORK

  • HT4539 Is there any way to auto-start the Apple mail app?

Our company offers a 7/24 service where a user can leave a voice mail in our system and our mail server will send an urgent mail message to the iPhone of the employee on duty so it can be handled in a timely manner. The problem we are having is that if someone turns off their phone and starts it again (or if the user opens the running apps window and shuts down the mail app), the users are not getting those urgent emails.
While I understand having an auto-starting app would be undesirable, since every developer might start activating that feature, does Apple iOS6 have any way to tell the mail app to restart on iPhone boot? We have a few people using other smartphones with a competing O/S that sounds similar to "asteroid" ;-) and the mail appears to be always operational, even if you shut down the app.

And be sure to set up Notifications for mail so the phone will beep, buzz, flash, whatever when a message comes in.
One issue though (discussed elsewhere): the phone will only Notify once. If you didn't hear or see it, there won't be any further warning (unlike, say, Blackberry's flashing LED). You're gonna have to grab the phone and at least bring up the lock screen to see if there are any notifications queued up.

  • Skype/Pulse audio problem only if auto started

    Hi,
I've an Arch/XFCE laptop including pulse audio and Skype (configured to use the pulse audio).
Skype has been configured  (using XFCE startup menu) to auto start during boot ( we boot daily), and, till about 2 weeks ago, worked fine.
Ever since, Skype starts but isn't functional (while trying to connect to the test service I can't hear anything, not even the dialing), and, after a few minutes, starts with a constant loud noise (which stops, once I quit Skype).
Interesting, since the problem  has begun, once I do either of the following, Skype returns, and remains, to be fully functional without any noise:
    1. Quit the auto-started Skype, and immediately relaunch it.
    2. Cancel to Skype auto start, and manually start Skype after XFCE becomes visible.
Looking at log files (below), I've seen some pulse audio related errors which I couldn't solve and may be related.
I do a full system update (almost) daily.
I'd be happy to return to the former state (functional auto-started Skype). Please advise
    Thanks

  • Embedded SWF files auto starting in IE but set to not auto play - Chrome, Firefox, Safari work ok

One of the web masters at my school has embedded several Captivate 5 swf files in a web page.  I had re-exported all of them to not auto start after we realized that the originals were set to auto play upon loading (someone else made the orginials...).  Caches have been cleared on IE9, but yet, when that page loads, all of the no auto-play swfs start playing.  On Chrome, Firefox and Safari, none of them start playing when the page is loaded.  Does anyone have a clue why IE9 might be doing this and how to fix it?
    Thanks,
    Sue

Am I correct in assuming that when your web developer set these SWFs up on the same page that he did not use the default HTM page that Captivate creates?  Did he just embed them into the web page using standard Dreamweaver code for SWFs?
Do the same Captivate SWFs start automatically if you upload them to your web server individually with the HTM and JS files that Captivate creates?  If not, then your web developer might be better off embedding the content in his web page using individual iframes pointing at the HTM file rather than the method he previously chose.

  • AUTO START WHEN CONNECTED

AUTO START WHEN CONNECTED  In Backup, NAS to USB AUTO START WHEN CONNECTED: What does this  actually mean, in BACKUP of Dashboard? Will it auto sync every time a change takes place on the NAS?   Or must the USB be removed and reinserted into the USB port on the MCM?

No, the clue's in the name It's a one-off single process, just triggered by the drive connection rather than by manual starting via the dashboard. When you connect the drive, it will trigger the backup, which will then proceed to the end and stop just as if you had manually started the backup. But at the end, if you want to backup again, you have to either manually restart it or disconnect and reconnect the drive. As it stands today, there is no "auto sync" option within the dashboard between the built-in drives and USB connected ones. It can be set up using SSH and a cron job, but that will be messing aroud with the NAS at the base command line level and will probably invalidate your warranty if things go wrong. Have a look through the suggestions thread as this kind of question (sync'ing in general, not specifically NAS<>USB) comes up quite regularly and has probably been made there, where you can support it and comment yourself.

  • Oracle 11g XE won't auto start

Installed XE (11g) on a XP machine. When system is restarted listener service starts but DB service doesn't. It is set to auto start. If I manually start the DB service it starts without issue and we can use the system.
I've even set the service to try to restart in case of a failure (to see if that made a difference.....nope).
    Any ideas?

Please forward me process/steps for auto start/stop oracel services

:bad interperter : no such file or directorymeans that it could not find the interpreter which should be used to interpret the script.
most probably this is caused by the shebang (#!/bin/bash)
the default location of bash on RHEL (OEL/CentOS) is /bin/bash, which means that the shebang looks correct.
    can you make the shebang:
#!/bin/bash -xso shelltracing is put on and execute script again?
this will make clear if it is the shebang in your script, or in another script.

  • Auto Start Dependencies?

    Hi,
I have a quick question for Sun Cluster 3.2.
I have a HAStoragePlus resource group, and a Logical Hostname resource group, which an NFS resource depends on the resources in both of those groups. How can I have it auto-start dependencies if all are offline?
Ie, everything is in offline state, and I say to start nfs-rg resource group...it will complain, instead of bringing up the required resources from the other groups. Is there a way to make it do that?
    Thanks,
    -Matt

Bringing this back from the dead.
Because of various reasons, we only got this set up about 2 or so weeks ago.
Here's my issue (mind you, it's getting late here, so please bear with me if I missed something obvious).
    I have 2 resource groups:
    zfs-rg:
    storage-rs (HAStoragePlus)
    zfs-rs (LogicalHostName)
    nfs-rg:
    nfs-rs (HA NFS)
I'm going to be adding a third rg:
    samba-rg:
    samba-rs (HA SAMBA)
    Here's what I would like:
To be able to bring up or down the NFS and / or SAMBA services without affecting each other, and without affecting the storage and logical hostname. However, both the storage and logical hostname need to be on the current node in order to start either service.
    Here's what I have:
    clresource create -g nfs-rg -t SUNW.nfs \
    -p Resource_dependencies=storage-rs,zfs-rs nfs-rs
    clresource create -g zfs-rg -t SUNW.HAStoragePlus \
    -p Zpools=HApool -p Resource_dependencies=zfs-rs storage-rs
    /usr/cluster/bin/clresourcegroup create -p nodelist=zfs-2,zfs-1 zfs-rg
    /usr/cluster/bin/clreslogicalhostname create -g zfs-rg -h zfs -N sc_ipmp0@zfs-2,sc_ipmp0@zfs-1 zfs-rs
    /usr/cluster/bin/clresourcegroup online -emM zfs-rg
That's what was used to create everything, and I also set an affinity of zfs-rg:
    RG_affinities: ++nfs-rg
Now, if zfs-rg is NOT running, it auto-starts upon trying to start nfs-rg (goal!).
BUT, it auto STOPS upon shutdown of nfs-rg. Not what I want.
Should it only be a nfs-rg? Am I doing this backwards? Will I have to add a + or +samba-rg to the zfs RG_affinities?
I looked at those blog entries, understood some of it, but I would think this is fairly straightforward, but I don't see any examples of it that I can find...
    Thanks.

Susan, can you still see the Connect bug? What Product/Program is it under in Connect? I can't see it but I might not be a member of the correct group.
    From http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/hh831394.aspx:
"After a server has been added to the Server Manager server pool, service alerts about the Shell Hardware Detection service can be displayed if there are no users logged on to the managed server. This occurs because the Shell Hardware Detection service runs
only when users are logged on to the managed server, or connected to a Remote Desktop session on the managed server. To avoid seeing Shell Hardware Detection service alerts for this case, click
Services in the thumbnails for server groups, including the
All Servers group. In the Services Detail View dialog box, on the
Services drop-down list, clear the check box for Shell Hardware Detection, and then click
    OK."
That confirms that it's okay for Shell Hardware Detection not to be running. However the suggested fix--removing it from 2012 alerting--does not keep it off my 2012E Health Report.
