  • Auto-Submit On Change in DropDown List not working properly!

    Hi all,
    Ive got a problem with a drop down list an a table with some rows on my page. The property "Auto-Submit on Change" is set for the drop down because the valueChange-method has to do some work when the user selects another value from the drop down.
    The problem is that after selecting another item from the drop down, the table fields dont keep their values, which I had entered before I selected another item in the drop down. But: When I select an item again, suddenly exactly these values are set.
    Here my code:

    List positions = getSessionBean1().getColumnProvider().getColumnList();
    Is there some explanation for this behavior or its really a bug in the way how the drop down is submitting the form? I would understand it when commitChanges is not working here because of auto submit on change (==immediate?). but once it works und once it doesnt work!

    Hi There,
    Not sure what you mean. Have you tried Netbeans 6 yet. Do you see same behaviour in it as well?
    This might be of help to you

  • Auto Logoff when change url without logoff

    Hi, i had search the forum, but i don't find an answer!
    I have the following problem:
    We have the EP 6.0 and when the users are login, sometimes they change the url of the browser to go to www.google.de or other sides, but they forget to logoff! Then the session is not closed and some other people could go back in the history and then they are logged in!
    I search a possibility to auto logoff when change the side for example to call a javascript with the attribut onunload or something else!?
    I would be lucky with some ideas or a solution!
    Lars

    Hi Lars,
    This is not exactly what you are asking for, but it is closely related.  I hope that it may be of some help to you.  For my application, I wanted to logoff portal sessions, when users do not logoff BEFORE closing the browser session.
    Here is what we do:
    In the desktop framework, I have a footer.  The footer shows privacy information, etc.  Inside the html for this footer page, I capture a browser close event, and in this event, I logoff the portal session.  This footer is displayed on every page of the portal and effectively helps to conserve portal resources.
    Here is the javascript included in the footer.html
    <script type="text/javascript">
    window.onunload = function unloadEvent() {
         //alert ("Got here...");
         if (window.screenLeft == 10004) {
              // User clicked "X" to close Browser
              // alert ("To protect your privacy, please Logoff prior to closing your browser window.  Logging off now...");
              logoff();
    </script>
    Hope this helps,
    Kevin

  • Change image when form dropdown list value is selected

    I really thought this would be simpler but I just can't get it working.
    I have a submit from from paypal with a dropdown list. The list allows you to select color. I want to change an image on the page to display the appropriate color when the color is selected from the drop down list. So a black image shows up when black is selected, a red when red - etc...
    I would be very grateful if someone can share some succinct, browser compatible code. Thank you so much for any help you can provide.
    Bill

    Thanks so much.  I used your info from above and am in the process of creating a product configurator for our products.  Do you see any problems/issues etc or ways to make this script better?  I don't have most of the images there yet, but if you choose big boy chair and then choose navy/powder/black fabric and most accent colors you should see it working (in FireFox anyway).  Not sure why it isn't working in IE.  Any ideas?

  • How to trigger Material CIF change pointers when changing Source List

    I need to trigger a Material Change pointer (CIFMAT) creation when the Source List is updated for that material.  In BD52 (ALE configuration) table EORD is not an option for CIFMAT message type, so by standard ALE this can not be done automatically.  I could not find any BAdI/Userexit which will help me to create a material master change pointer so that the Material (Product) will be sent to APO via the CIF when the Source List in R/3 is changed.

    Hi , Can you please check user exit CIFMAT01 function module EXIT_SAPLCMAT_001.You can use this enhancement to influence the logic according to which material data from SAP R/3 is mapped to APO product interface data.
    I suggest to put logic in user exit to check table source list table EORD changes & trigger CIF for material master.You can pull  change data from table CDPOS using EORD table reference & material object value details.
    Based on change record CIF user exist should trigger material CIF run and feed to APO.
    Hope this solution will work in your case.thanks

    I am using asp.net 3.5 framework. My page has modelpopup in that ajax tab controls used. one of the tab has asp:dropdownlist, this dropdown list is binding data from dataset. the tab which has dropdown lists is not working. it is working fine in IE9.0.
    Sys.WebForms.PageRequestManagerServerErrorException: Sys.WebForms.PageRequestManagerServerErrorException: Invalid postback or callback argument. Event validation is enabled using <pages enableEventValidation="true"/> in configuration or <%@ Page EnableEventValidation="true" %> in a page. For security purposes, this feature verifies that arguments to postback or callback events originate from the server control that originally rendered them. If the data is valid and expected, use the ClientScriptManager.RegisterForEventValidation method in order to register the postback or callback data for validation.

    changed to enableEventValidation="false", then it is working fine.

As an example, say I was looking-up someone's personal data and there was a dropdown list that listed all the possible hair colors. If this person had been entered as having blonde hair, I want the dropdown list to display blonde at page load, but give the user the option to select another color if a change is needed.
    Thanks in advance for ur help.

    <option value="<c:out value="${currentchoice}"/>"
        <c:if test="${currentchoice=='db_value'}">
            SELECTED
        </c:if>

  • Auto submit when ENTER is pressed?

    Although maybe not a 100% JSF question / answer, I thought this still fitted in this forum...
    What is the best way to get a form to submit when the user presses "enter". I guess it can be done with a javascript, or some code on the backing bean, but I am not sure how to connect the event to the code.
    any help / comments are greatly appreciated!!!

    I get the source a i've changed what was said in the page.

  • Auto Submit On Change with useless element id

    What is the reason for JSC generates scripts like
    common_timeoutSubmitForm(this.form, 'tabSet1:tab1:layoutPanel1:gridPanel1:dropDown1');
    instead of
    common_timeoutSubmitForm(this.form, this.id);
    I can change this manually, but unfortunately the JSC doesn't recognize this as Auto Commit On Change is set.

    Hi There,
    Not sure what you mean. Have you tried Netbeans 6 yet. Do you see same behaviour in it as well?
    This might be of help to you

  • Sort order switches when changing from List to Thumbnail View

    I can't seem to get the Thumbnail view to "lock" to the same sort order as the list view.  I arrange by file name (or ingest date, or reverse media duration, or any of the other sortable metadata fields) in list view, but then when I click to the thumbnail view, the order seems to arbitrariliy change to some sort of preset.  What's worse, it appears to be changing to something that's in a jumbled order.
    This isn't a big deal if I only have 10 clips.  If I have 100, or 1,000 clips though, they have to be in a sortable order for the thumbnail view to be of any use.
    Thanks,
    Eli

    Hi,
    Thanks for your post. Our current design doesn't support keeping order between list view and icon view. It would be good if you can drop that as a feature request / bug into the the forum.

  • Immediate Submit From Dropdown List Selection

    In JSF what is the best way to get the form to submit immediately when a dropdown list item is selected? I know I can use a JavaScript onchange="..." but just wondering if there is a more standard/cool way of doing this in JSF.
    Thanks!
    Vaughn

    No. Simply creating a ValueChangeListener won't do what he wants. When he used the term "immediately" he meant "as soon as the value changes" and not "immediate" in the sense of bypassing Faces lifecycles. This can be seen from his reference to "onchange=".
    The suggestion I am about to make solves one problem but creates another.
    In addition to valueChangeListener= "#{...}" and immediate="true", put onchange="submit()". This will execute your event as soon as the value changes BUT...
    Faces navigation doesn't work any more when you return a navigation target.
    How do we get Faces Navigation to keep working when we use "onchange" ?

  • How to update the table when change list item in classic report

    hi ,
    i worked with apex 4.2 and i create normal classic report with one select list(named loved)Column ,now i want to update table when user change the list with new value ,i can't create dynamic action to do this,i create check box with primary key and loop for check item to update the table but i can't get the value of list item. and for more speed the user want to do this when change the list value.
    my question
    1- how to do this by javascript and get the value from list item and update the table with new value
    2- is i must use API to create list item so i can get the value of item in report or what.
    Thanks
    Ahmed

    I coded the following to give you direction:
    1. In the "Element Attributes" section of the DEPTNO column, I call a javascript function as:
    onchange = "javascript:updateTable(this);"2. I wrote a simple javascript function that shows an alert when the user changes the select list as:
    <script language="JavaScript" type="text/javascript">
    function updateTable(pThis)
        var vRow = pThis.id.substr(pThis.id.indexOf('_')+1);
        alert('Row# - '+ vRow + ' has the value - ' + pThis.value);
    </script>Now, you can call a AJAX on-demand process inside the javascript function to update the database value.

  • Auto submit virtual form on change (not the whole form)

    If you tick the "auto submit on change" option of a drop down, it submits the whole form, thus all the required fields have to be filled. Are there any way to submit only the perticular virtual form on change?
    Thank you very much.

    I don't see the problem... Are the files being digitally signed? If not then there's no difference at all between submitting the form data and using it to populate a local copy of the file and submitting the entire file.
    It's technically impossible to extract a page from a PDF viewed in Reader.
    Another alternative: Split the file in two parts and put a link on the last page of the first file to the second part, which will contain only the page with the form fields. You can add a link and some text to the page saying that it is a continuation of the first document.

  • Indexed Dropdown List

    Hi, everyone I have this problem:
    I created with two dropdown list. One (A) is the master dropdown list for dropdown list(B). If I check "Auto submit on change" on dropdown list (A) and also check "Auto submit on change" on dropdown list (B) the "Auto submit on change script" only works for dropdown (A). Does anyone knows why is that ?

    Interesting... perhaps did you set the "required" property on something? If so, try unsetting it...
    You could try to isolate which field is having the problem by associated specific message components w/each component.
    More questions:
    Are these dropdowns filled from a database? Or ?
    Do they have any relationship to each other (dropdown2 does something based on dropdown1's selection)?
    If filled from a database, do they have converters on them?
    If you email me at CreatorFeedback AT sun DOT com I can sent you an example project of coordinated dropdowns... we are still trying to get it ready to post to the web...
