Automate Export function of Outlook

I am fairly new to scripting and have been tasked to split several 20GB+ pst's by year for archiving. I've got multiple pst archives per user (thanks to previous sysadmin), all with sub-folders and I need to keep the folder structures but extract all
of 2007, 2008 , 2009 etc emails into their own pst's. I have tried some 3rd party applications but they have all failed rather spectacularly. Any help would be greatly appreciated, even if someone can just point me in the right direction to get started. Am
I correct in saying that Exchange 2007 cannot export PST's because they aren't part of the Mailbox Identity?

Hello Steve,
You may consider automating Outlook. The Namespace class provides the AddStore/AddStoreEx method
which dds a Personal Folders (.pst) file to the current profile. You just need to pass the
path of the .pst file to be added to the profile. If the .pst file does not exist, Microsoft Outlook creates it.
Sub CreatePST()
Dim myNameSpace As Outlook.NameSpace
Set myNameSpace = Application.GetNamespace("MAPI")
myNameSpace.AddStore "c:\" & myNameSpace.CurrentUser & "\.pst"
End Sub
Then you will get access to folders in the store and will be able to copy the required folders or items.

Started with VBA in Outlook 2010 for more information.

  • Outlook: How to update folders in automatic archive function

When using the automatic archive function (pdf maker, single portfolio of emails) in Outlook 2010 we have the following problem:
Once set the email folders and subfolder structure of our archive remains at the status of its first setting. This means every time we rerun the archive function NEW folders/ subfolders (added after initial setup) will NOT be included!
Is there any way to automatically update the subfolder structure (e.g. below a main project folder) every time we rerun the archive function???
Otherwise this function is totally useless as any change in our Outlook folder structure is not reflected in the archiving functions, which means NEW folder and their contents are not archived!
We have like 20 projects with different archive paths we now have to archive manually each time we backup.
    Thank you for your help!

    Go to the "Modeling" tab
Go to the "Source Systems" object type
    Find your Source System
    Right-Click on the source system
    Choose 'Transfer Exchange Rates'.
Your BW Administrators team should have this function set up as a daily batch process.

  • Automatically export to JPEG from RAW images

RAW images are preferred form of shooting for many photographers. And, Lightroom is great at managing and developing these images. However, we increasingly use/view these images outside Lightroom and away from the PC where we do most of the development. For example, I use a DLNA server which shows off my entire image collection to big screen television (which can act as a DLNA client). The same DLNA server is used to send images to our smartphones (my wife loves to show all kid pictures anywhere she - without having to carry the pictures on the phone).
Most other applications that use these images, do not work on RAW images and JPEG images must be exported manually from Lightroom. This becomes increasingly difficult to manage and keep track of while developing RAW images. How many RAW images need to be exported? How many images did I touch since the last time I exported them?
Currently, I am using the following process to manage this:
    1. I created a smartlist which contains images that are edited after "a particular date".
    2.  I select all images in this smartlist, and use Lightroom3's export  function to export them all as JPEG, to the same folder as original.
    3. Once the export is completed, I modify the smartlist to change the "particular date" to today's date.
I plan to repeat this procedure every so often (once a week or so).
It would be great if Lightroom had a feature such that it always keeps "JPEGs exported" for all RAW images (with the latest development settings of course). This could be a process that could occur in the background or at a user-specified time/event (e.g. when one closes Lightroom). User should be able to specify where the exported JPEG images should be put to and with what name (I prefer in the same folder as RAW but other users may have other preferences). User should be able to select if this is only done for RAW images or also for JPEG and other formats (in which case, should the exported image override the original or not). The exported images should be (optionally) automatically included in the Lightroom catalogue and stacked with the original RAW image.
Mainly, the entire process should be completely transparent to the user. A collection of JPEG images - corresponding to the latest development settings for the RAW images - should be always available.

I've heard many others raising the issue of an auto-jpeg feature - kinda like auto-write xmp, except auto-write jpeg.
I agree this would be nice, obviously some sort of "stability" check would be needed so it isnt constantly writing jpegs as you edit. Lightroom employs a form of this already for the xmp - meaning it doesn't update xmp every brush stroke, but accumulates several strokes before updating, so its more efficient...
If you could define multiple jpegs to keep - with the raws, or a separate tree - even better. That would obsolete all the tree output plugins and publishers.
The publishing feature was intended to fill this need (albeit manual only), but it suffers from the inability to publish to original directory, and/or an external tree.
I'd like to see a manual mode too, that accompanies a new "Done for now" function - so when you say "Done for now", it saves xmp, jpeg(s), snapshot, and optionally locks the file so unapproved changes can no longer happen to it. Then if you could define multiple "done for now" presets that include initiating publish service and exports, then the work-flow becomes: 1.import, 2.edit, 3.done for now - and thats it (maybe repeat 2 + 3 in the future). i.e. no more manually initiating the exports, publish services, snapshots, saving of xmp, ..., and whatever else you do when you're done.
In the mean time, I may make some of this part of an up-n-coming "Sidekick" app + plugin combo when I get to it.
Presently, I dont use publishing services, and I have ExportManager to consolidate exports (which includes TreeSync), so my workflow is: 1.import, 2.edit, 3.done for now (save xmp+snapshot, and lock via ChangeManager), 4. initiate consolidated exports...

  • How to disable/enable the export function?

    Hi,
I created a customized form from template and tried to disable the export function in the menu(File->Export).
How can i do for this?
    Thanks and best regards,

    HI,
If you are creating a e-business form from standard template and if your block is multi record block, then the Export option is automatically enabled.

  • How to automatically load function parameters when editing c/c++ DLL call?

I built a DLL in CVI and is used in TestStand, I want this DLL to have the ability to automatically load function parameters after specifying Module pathname and function name in "Edit C/C++ DLL Call" dialog? How can I do it?

Staring with CVI 7.1 and TestStand 3.1 you do not need a type library for TestStand to load parameters automatically. Just make sure you declare your exported functions with the __declspec(dllexport) modifier as in the following code:
    __declspec(dllexport) void fun(void)

  • Automate export via command line (Tiger)

I want to automate the backup (not just the directories) of both iCal and Address Book on Tiger. I've had a look at the AppleScript dictionaries for both apps, but the export function is not there.
Any ideas on how I can do the export on the command line??

    Hi Gerald,
Yes it is very much possible. For large configurations, it is recommended to take export from command line-
    1. run setenv file
    2. java -Xms512M -Xmx512M oracle.tip.repos.export.Export -inputfile <inputfile> [-ignoretypes <
    file>] <export file name>
    Arguments:
-inputfile <inputfile> to export specific objects .
-ignoretypes <file> , This is only for business process. This is to ignore
the object types while exporting deployable BP.
<export file name> name of the export file
    For e.g. -
    C:\B2B10g\Midtier\ip\install>java -Xms512M -Xmx512M oracle.tip.repos.export.Export C:\commandExport.xml
    Starting Execution Context
    Export file name is C:\commandExport.xml
    3.26
    exporting all design objects
    export done
For benefit of other users of this community, I have documented the same on below link -

  • Exporting WLM to Outlook 2010

Is there a way to export from WLM an email account to be imported into Outlook 2010 32bit?  The WLM export function for email accounts only generates a .iaf file that is not recognized by Outlook 2010 no matter what sub-directory I place it in.

    Dear Raul,
In previous versions of Microsoft Outlook, you were able to import and export your Internet Mail Account settings to an Internet Account file (.IAF) format. This feature
was available in Microsoft Outlook 2000 Internet Mail Only (IMO) by clicking Accounts on the Tools menu. The option is not available in later versions of Outlook.
To work around this behavior, we can use the following steps to import Internet Mail Accounts settings from the e-mail programs that are on your computer:
    1.
    Start Outlook.
    2.
    Click the
File menu, and click Open from the left pane.
    3.
    Click
Import, and then click Import Internet Mail Account Settings, and then click
    Next.
    4.
Follow the Internet Connection Wizard to complete the import process.
For more information, you can refer to the following Microsoft Knowledge base article:
You cannot import or export e-mail accounts with .IAF files in Outlook
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/278168
Please take your time to try the suggestions and let me know the results at your earliest convenience. If anything is unclear or if there is anything I can do for
you, please feel free to let me know.

    Hello Puneet,
Regarding your query on appraisal for every day of the business event, I am not sure if that's possible as it's the business event appraisal we are talking of here..and not the day. But I think individiual instructor appraisal should not be a problem.
    Hope this helps.

  • Export functionality doesn't work properly in reports post upgrade to EHP1

    Dear Experts,
We have recently upgraded our BI system to EHP1 SP 7. Pre-upgrade the export functionality (to excel or pdf) was working fine, however post-upgrade in few reports we have encountered some issues.
In a couple of reports the exported excel is blank, in some reports, few web items are displayed properly but others not and  in some reports exported excel or pdf is as it was pre-upgrade.
Could you please suggest any note or any solution which could fix this issue?
    Thanks!
Edited by: IlaSAP on Apr 14, 2011 10:01 AM

After further analysis I find that the issue happens with only those reports in which export to excel/pdf is done using a webitem which is hidden in web template. If the web item is made visible the data is exported to the excel/pdf and if hidden again it again results in blank excel/pdf.
Please suggest any solution to this issue.

  • Export function not working in Internet Explorer

so i've got a report displayed in IE, but when i go to export to any file format, IE opens a new tab and that's it. depending on certain settings (like adding the server to intranet zone), i can get the new tab to say nothing or "Blank Page".
i've tried adding the server to the safe zones, i've played with some tabs settings, i enabled the "run active x" options...
finally i reset all settings of IE to their defaults. i still can't figure out what i'm missing. if i copy the url to another browser the export works fine, as expected. on another machine i found this "rsclientprint 2008" addon so i downloaded
that but i still got nothing.
on a working machine, when i click the export button, a new tab opens with the name of the reporting server in it, it thinks a bit, then that tab closes and i get the "open or save" message in the original tab. on the one that's not working, it
opens the new tab, DOESN'T show the server name and that's the end of it. so it seems like it can't connect to the server on the export function. (but report creation works just fine)
anyone know of anything glaring that i'm missing??
~if this were /. this sig would be funny

good call - i'll try that now.
the app i had installed before was Classic Shell so that Windows Explorer's (win7) left hand pane doesn't jump around on you when you double click.
i just completely uninstalled the application and rebooted. still nothing.
going to do a repair while classic shell is uninstalled. brblol
    UPDATE:
so i couldn't run the IE installer (per MS suggestions) because i have a newer version. so i tried the fixer that i found here:
    http://support2.microsoft.com/mats/ie_performance_and_safety
and it found the following "errors":

  • Export function is not working.

    Hello gurus,
I am using the export function and I am unable to download the tsv file.
We have 2 development instances (both R12) and it works on one of them but not the other.
The file I am trying to export is under OM\Quick Order Organizer\Holds Information tab\Hold Sources button. Menu: File, Export
At the decision dialog, select Continue to End then the exporting data form pops up for a split second and goes away with no export tsv file created.
Can someone help me with this. Thank you!

Please review the database log file for any errors.
Also, make sure all pop-up blockers are disabled at the client side.
Please go through the troubleshooting docs referenced in the old threads for similar discussion -- http://forums.oracle.com/forums/search.jspa?threadID=&q=Export+not+Working&objID=c3&dateRange=all&userID=&numResults=15&rankBy=10001

  • PI 2.2 automatically export ClientsAndUsers data to .csv

    Hello dear community,
i try to automate export the data from the Monitor > Client and Users to .csv file.
Is it possible to export the file every week automatically in .csv format to an external
server (preferably SCP or SFTP). Or any other way.?
    Regards

    Hi Waldemar,
    That won't be possible.
But you can get the same data by running a report from Reports > Report Launch Pad > Client. The reports can be scheduled to run weekly/daily & saved locally on the server or sent through email.
You would have to manually copy the reports out to an external server like a FTP/SFTP server.
