Automatic application termination

While recording voice-overs, Captivate 2.o got terminated a
few times. Any workouts?

Hello Saurabh,
It sounds to me that your copy of Adobe Captivate 2 has
become corrupted. I would try re-installing the software again,
making sure that before you being the installation process you
disable your Anti-virus software. If that still does not resolve
the problem then I would recommend you report this to adobe using
Bug
Submission form
so that somebody on the Captivate team can look into this for
you and see if they can reproduce the problem.

    Hi Govardan,
    The error is because of the service configure_application is not active in SICF
    go to SICF, and provide service name as CONFIGURE_APPLICATION. right click and click on activate service.

  • Automate Application & Essbase Backup

    We have done lots of things on different topics in this forum but one thing which i feel lack is Backup & Recovery Procedures. How can we automate Application & Db Backup for Data forms. Anyone have implemented it or have some clue then pls let it share on this forum.

    For the planning application then I would take a backup of the schema/db, this can be automated and done by your dba.
    For essbase then different backup options are outlined in :- http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E17236_01/epm.1112/epm_backup_recovery/launch.html
    It all depends on your backup method to how it would be automated.

    HI All,
    We have an Planning application and when the user is trying to perform some activity and ti involves in running some calculation Scripts.
    At point the application is going down and this is causing real mess.
    There is no .xcp file created in the app folder. We are unable to find the root cause of the issue.
    the following are the fixes we tried but gave us no result.
    We tried to increase the Java Heep size

    We have increased the Heap size and restarted the services. But this issue still exists. And also restarted the entire system but the result is the same.
    We are unable to find the root cause which is causing this issue.

  • How to stop automatic startup Terminal

    I use Yosemite 10.10.1 op my iMac. When i start my iMac it automatically opens Terminal.
    I would like to cancel this. I tried to change it in preferences, user, automatic programs , but i am not sure
    if i can remove java there. What is the solution?

  • Infrastructure Navigator Automatic Application Definitions failing

    When I attempt to Add Automatic Application Definitions I get the following error:
    Unable to add the application definition. An unknown error has occurred while trying to retrieve data from the Navigator server.  Ensure that the Navigator server is up an running.
    I have also found the majority of the vms in our environment show Access failed.  An unknown error has occurred.
    I am not sure which logs should be reviewed to provide some clues to these issues.
    Any ideas or thoughts would prove helpful!
    BTW our version is 2.0.0.398.  I hope to upgrade to 5.5 some time next month so I will be able to upgrade to 5.8 but don't want to carry issues like this forward!
    Any ideas?  Thoughts?

  • Select Applications (Terminal, Preferences) Freeze On Mouse Hover

    This behaviour started happening a couple of days ago. When I hover my mouse over an application (such as Terminal) it freezes with the message 'process Termainl [pid] caught causing excessive wakeups...'
    Some applications (such as Google Chrome) work fine. Others (iTerm, Terminal, Hipchat) are susceptible. If the application exhibits the behaviour - without fail, simply hovering the mouse over the application window, without clicking or giving it explicit focus, will cause it to freeze.
    Prior to this, my battery had swollen and the suspicion was that it was pressing against the trackpad resulting in a constant stream of interrupts. I took the battery out and am typing this without the battery - the issue persists.
    I also tried disconnecting the trackpad. Same issue, even when using an external mouse to navigate. That seems to contradict the idea that it's an issue with the trackpad.

    So after spraying the board with a non-conductive, plastic-safe solvent ("Superwash"), I'm seeing the behaviour in less applications.
    Annoyingly, iTerm2 and System Preferences are still affected. Terminal now works, Hipchat now works.

  • Disable automatic Application Manager grant when creating an application

    Hi all,
    If an admin user (administrator privileges in Essbase directly - shared services not used) creates an application in Essbase, the user automatically gets an Application Manager grant for this application.
    This makes no sense in our environment and especially makes no sense as the user is already an administrator and has full access to Essbase.
    Is there any way to disbale this?

    many thanks for your answer.
    Well let me explain a little bit further:
    I created an own security module which manages the whole security in Essbase. I get the grants from a corporate system and then just apply them by some definitions natively in Essbase using filters etc.
    To make sure the grants on the server are exactly the same as the grants that get delivered to me, I export the complete security in Essbase using MaxL and import it to a relational DB. I then check whether there are any grants which shouldn't be there and vice versa.
    If now an admin user creates an application, he gets an additional application manager grant for this application. He does not loose his admin permissions.
    Now in my check this application manager grant pops up as this grant is not in the corporate system but created Essbase internally when a application is created.
    If I export the complete security this application manager grant is there.
    I would like to get rid of these errors in my check. Also it makes no sense that an admin user gets an Application Manager grant because he already has that permission as an admin user.
    I already searched the documentations but didn't find a setting to disable this behaviour of Essbase.
    Btw. Essbase version is 11.1.1.3.
    Maybe someone of you guys know if there is any chance to do this - if not, I have to find another solution.

    I am receiving this error each time I try to launch the terminal application. Additionally the console application will not open. any suggestions?

    Are you logged into your Admin. Account when launching the Terminal?
    Try opening Console from Macintosh HD>Applications>Utilities again logged into your Admin. Acc.

  • Trying to automate a Terminal command with a password

    Hi,
    I'm a long time Mac user, but not a Terminal expert.
    I've come upon a simple hack that enables me to run two instances of Skype simultaneously. This enables me to use it with two different user names.
    The idea is to create another user on the computer and run the other Skype like this:
    sudo -u user "/Applications/Skype.app/Contents/MacOS/Skype"
    In order to simplify this for daily use, I'd like to create a small applet which runs this terminal command.
    Trying to do so with Automator's +Run Shell Script+ fails with an execution error, probably due to the fact that this sudo command requires an admin password.
    Is there any way to accomplish this?

    hmm... I'm afraid that didn't do the trick. It now opens the Terminal window and launches Skype with the message "another copy of Skype is already running".
    Maybe I should add another step to workflow instead?

    Yes, it is available in 7.0. If you don't find it under you particular application set, you'll have to copy paste the one that's delivered standardly with BPC in ApShell. It's located into: C:\BPC\Data\Webfolders\ApShell\PLANNING\DataManager\PackageFiles\Examples.
    Then, you'll have to copy and paste it under your application set/application, and then reference it via the Organize package list menu.

    Did you install the application via
    Install applications on Remote Desktop Services wizard? Just a confirmation, thanks for your understanding.
    Please open Control Panel, navigate to Programs and Features, then select the application and click Uninstall. For more details, please refer to following thread

  • System Crash during Application Termination

    I am having a hard time thinking where I should appropriately put this topic because I believe it is not really centered in the "game development" per se... but since I have experienced this problem with all the games I am currently developing and with all the previous games I have developed, I decided to put these topic in this category...
    anyway, my problem is whenever I terminate my program, which uses a lot of .GIF or .JPG images (imported via the getToolkit().getImage method) my computer hangs!
    this problem happens only in my new desktop computer. when I run my applications in my laptop everything goes smoothly even after i terminate the applications.
    my suspicion is that my computer is configured differently. and honestly i dont know the exact configurations of my desktop since I was not present at the time when the installations were made..
    here is the rough config/settings/hardware components of my machine:
    -running on windows xp professional
    -j2sdk1.4.2
    -ati radeon 7200 on graphics
    -pentium 4 2.3 GHz
    -my harddisk is partitioned into two and it seems that the windows system files reside in the secondary partition
    does anyone know about this issue with regards to the J2SDK?
    is there an issue regarding J2SDK not being compatible with my above settings (in at least one case)?

    are you also using fullscreen or bufferstrategy? and
    are you terminating your app with System.exit().
    System.exit() often doesn't properly clean up either
    of the above 2 features. (it seems to be dependant on
    your gfx drivers)yeah, i forgot to mention that i terminate my applications using System.exit(), and i use a fullscreen, borderless window...
    thanks for the info. =) i had a suspicion of the system not having proper cleanup but i didn't have any solid proof.. i always thought System.exit() deals with such operations properly...
