Automatic Population of List
I am trying to develop a basic project management site. What I want to do is setup a template site (which I can do), and when the site is created, it automatically enters information to a list on the parent site.
The information needs to come from a list that is located on the homepage of the template site, and can be edited. When it is edited, it updates the list on the parent site.
The information on the template site list needs to read vertically like this:
Title (clickable to the form)
Date Started
Date Ended
Percent complete (based on the percent done of events on the project event page)
Etc.
I have Designer 2010 and we are using SharePoint Server Enterprise 2010.
I do not have any VB knowledge, some programming knowledge using XML, HTML, etc. I hope someone can walk me through what is needed to get this going.

Hi Jason,
Why not try looking at it the other way.
What if you set up a list that contains your required fields, then build a workflow that runs on item creation. The workflow can create a site (using your site template).

Automatically populating a Form from data stored in Access
Hi,
I need help automatically populating a form from data stored in Access. The form needs to have specific fields that are updated from an Access database. I want to be able to enter a site number and have the subsequent list of information (approximately 35 pieces of data) populate. I DO NOT want to update the Access database via the form. The form is for quick viewing and documentation only, not data entry. Currently I've been doing this with VB in Access which exported the data to a Word Document which was then saved as a PDF. It seems easier and less troublesome to go directly to the PDF form, but I can't figure out how!
I have already connected my database to the form using OLEDB.
I don't want a dropdown list and I don't want buttons to scroll through the sites (I've already found out how to do that through this forum).
Any help would be very much appreciated!!Some more help to get started in this.. would be really appreciated..Are you trying to come up with the graphs yourself? IF so, are you familiar with MVC?

Picking quantity automatically populated
Dear All,
During delivery processing i have maintained picking request output to be printed when delivery is saved ,
but when i save the delivery to print the picking list the pick quantity is AUTOMATICALLY populated
kindly advise how do i prevent this as we have to count the items and enter the picked quantity.

currently the system when saving the picking request is populating the picked quantiy equal to delivery quantity
even if the picked quantity is partial,if the delivery is saved then the system is making the pick quantity equal to delivery quantity

Automatically populate custom list column with site name when list is created
Hi All,
I am using a CQWP to display selected contacts on subsites from one master contact list on the parent site. Each subsite is for a different project and is named according to the project number. In the master contact list I have a custom column called Projects
that is populated with the various different project numbers that an individual contact is involved with.
The CQWP on the subsite filters the results based on the Projects column of the master contact list. As it stands I have to manually input this job number into the CQWP's properties. What I would like to happen is for the project number (the subsite name)
to automatically be input to the filter value.
The closet I have come to reaching my desired behaviour is by adding a column to the Site Pages list called Title and setting the filter value to [PageFieldValue:Title]. This still doesn't get the automatic behaviour I require because I still have to input
the project number into the Title column manually, but it is quicker than editing the CQWP properties.
What I need to achieve is either a way of automatically populating this column with the subsite name or find a way for the CQWP to pick up the subsite name and filter its results accordingly.
I have found this article http://www.andrewconnell.com/blog/Subclassing-the-Content-Query-Web-Part-Adding-Dynamic-Filtering which seems to be along the lines of what I want to achieve, but it is by no means a walk through and while I'm not completely
unfamiliar with coding, I don't know enough to implement it without help.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, I've been working on this for weeks on and off!

I believe the "Description" field type is Multiple Lines of Text. Sorting doesn't allow in this field type. In order to do the sorting, you would require to create additional column like single line of text column (note that it supports only 255
chars and require to truncate the data if more than 255) and update the data using event receiver or workflow. and do the sorting with that column.

when I create a new folder on the desktop of my macbook pro, it is automatically populated with all of the files on the desktop, which I don't want.
I got the problem solved. It was pretty simple but new to me. I had evidently inadvertently switched the setting in the "View" tab on the dropdown menu so that all of my desktop folders were populated by all folders/documents residing on the desktop.
The solution was to open one of the folders, then go to the "View" tab and change the setting to "List." Presto, now all the folders include only the contents I had intentionally loaded into them. -
My itunes library has automatically started to list my songs alphabetically. I do not want this. How do I change it so that when albums come up, the songs are listed in the order of the imported album, NOT alphabetically.
For the missing Artists on your iPod, make sure their tracks in iTunes are not marked as "Part of a compilation" in iTunes. You can do this by highlighting the track, right->clicking on them and choosing "Get Info" from the shortcut menu. When the window pops up, head over to the Info tab and make sure there is NO tick mark next to this option in the lower right hand corner. Lastly, sync the updated changes to your iPod.

Assignment field being automatically populated in Vendor Credit Memo

While posting Vendor Credit Memo with Reference Invoice (field Inv.Ref under Payment tab) the Assignment field (field Assign. under Details tab) is being automatically populated with assignment value from the referenced invoice.
Is there a way to disable automatic Assignment field population?

Venkatesh"shut down" attempts to trigger a clean shutdown of the VM by using the Integration Components to signal the OS in the VM to cleanly shut down. If the ICs are not available or that times out, then the VM is Powered Off.
"turn off" simply hits the power switch of the VM. As if the power cord was pulled. This is a hard down state, and generally one we don't want to see.

May i ask if the Order field in the Account Assignment tab in creating Sales Order ( VA01) will automatically populated when the Alt. Int. Ord field in the Additional Data B tab do have values?

Automatically populating cost center for 551 posting
Hi MM Experts,
Is there any way the cost center for the 551 movement type can be automatically populated into the field without the user entering it? We are posting a 551 posting from a legacy system and jsut want to find out if I can do any OBYC settings to make the cost center come up automatically?I believe the above answer is best approach, assuming you are always scrapping to the same Cost Centre. You can default a Cost Centre indirectly, by linking it to the defauled GL (if it's valuated stock then technically I believe it is a General Ledger code, rather than a Cost Element).
If you're going to do this for 551 you preumably want to do it for the other scrapping movement types 552, 553 etc. too. -
"Large" folder icons automatically changes to "List"
I am using Windows 8.1 and Office 365.
There are some folders and files in my system that I prefer "Large" icons.
Problem:
When ever I set the view as Large, they are automatically changed to "List" setting after I close the folder or system shutdown. Although sometimes they do not change, but the other times I have to change the settings back to "Large"
again and again.
Please help me find a solution.

The icon displays correctly as I want in my PC, I suggest you rebuild the icon cache in your system, then test the issue again.
this IconCache.db file is located at: (you need to show hidden files)
C:\Users\User-Name\AppData\Local\IconCache.db
delete the files, reboot.
Or rebuild in this way, kill the Explorer.exe with Taskmgr then run those commands:
cd /d %userprofile%\AppData\Local
attrib –h IconCache.db
del IconCache.db
start explorer
