Automatically adding form snippet to pdf faxes

We get many faxes every day and we have to mark them as read inside each pdf with both the recieved date, reviewed date and signature (not official digital, just identification) of the reader. Right now the fax comes in, it is printed, then stamped with a stamp that has an area for the date and a person's signature, then that dated and signed version is scanned back in.
Is there a way to automatically add the "stamp" to each pdf....either as it is saved, opened, or maybe a way to drag and drop a "form snippet" where the date automatically populates and the user can fill in the signature?
we need to do this in acrobat 8 because the program that stores the records does not read acrobat 9 files yet.
Thanks!!

  • Need help with adding form fields to PDF created in InDesign that includes links

I created a collateral piece in InDesignCC that includes hyperlinks and bookmarks - I then used LiveCycle to add an image field and text field to the front cover so our sales folks can customize it before use - the sales people with Reader can't save it without the hyperlinks and bookmarks being lost. Anyone have an option on how to fix that?

No.  Not at all.  I feel like I have clicked EVERYTHING.  Lol.  But obviously I have missed something.

  • Save a pdf file without Adobe automatically adding "-Copy" to the end

How can I save a pdf file without Adobe automatically adding "-Copy" to the end of file name?

If you have actually made any changes (e.g. adding a Sticky Note or filling out forms), the Save button will appear in the bottom toolbar.  It will save it as the same name.
"- Copy" is added only when you tap/click the Save As button.  You can change it to something else, if you'd like.

  • Automate adding unique passwords to a number of pdf files

Is there a way to automate adding unique passwords to a number of pdf files

No you can't. Although Acrobat SDK claims support for that it does not actually work. At least I was unable to get Acrobat to register my encryption filter and use it. I was told it has something to do with the export restrictions. You can, I think, use Acrobat SDK to create a standalone application that does what you want but I myself never tried that.

Have your husband text the word "stop" to 48369. This should take his number out of the iMessage system.
Go into your settings under messaging and make sure the box to send as an SMS if iMessage is unavailable is checked.
Hopefully this will get your messages sending/receiving to each other.

  • Adding form fields breaks tag structure

I have been teaching workshops at my university on creating accessible PDF forms from MS Word. I am very familiar with PDF accessibility. For the most part, the process of field recognition, marking up tables, writing tooltips, manipulating the tag tree, etc., all goes smoothly. I have noticed something that is creating a lot more work for our people, however.
After adding forms to the tagged PDF using recognition and the Tools > Forms > Add New Field tool, we adjust the field tab order and add tooltips. Once all of that is in place and we are ready to fine tune, we click the Tools > Accessibility > Add Form Fields to Tags button. Adding Form Fields to Tags does not work consistently if you edit the tag structure manually while in the Forms creation process. You can do some tag remediation prior to entering the Forms tool, but if you edit the tag structure while in Forms, the Adding Form Fields to Tags often does nothing -- this is certainly a bug in Acrobat X but it is not hard to work around.
The larger problem is that after we click Add Form Fields to Tags button, the tag structure reveals itself to be very much distorted and extreme amounts of tag structure remediation is required. Here are three screen shots that illustrate the point.
This first image shows the on-screen appearance.
Below is the expanded tags tree, prior to adding fields to the tag structure:
The tag structure is clean and elegant. If I were to publish this, no remediation would be necessary.
And here is the tag structure after adding form fields:
What has happened is Acrobat has grabbed recognized form fields and other elements in the document and has jammed them into the tag structure. Other things are affected as well. For example, headings in the page have extra, redundant textruns in them.
This has radically negatively affected the tag structure, requiring the author to do lots of remediation.
    Any recommendations? solutions? similar experiences?
It seems obvious to me that this is a flaw in Acrobat that needs to be addressed, if accessibility is a goal. Or perhaps I'm doing something wrong??

    Hi Daver1111,
Nope. No answer and nothing from Adobe.
I know something is going really really wrong, too: We have a product called CommonLook. It's an enterprise-level PDF accessibility remediation tool. It works well in fixing most structural problems in PDF through a relatively easy to use interface--you just drag textruns and elements around. It also has some tools that automate cleanup for accessibility.
I have no problem using this tool 99% of the time, but when I use it on forms I have made in Acrobat, the CommonLook plugin hangs when I try to save the PDF. It identifies a "structural error" in the PDF and crashes, leaving the PDF unchanged.
You can change the PDF in Acrobat by spending time moving around and creating new elements and deleting extra textruns and such, but, wow, what a royal pain in the *** that is!
Since no one is from Adobe is responding, I'm going to file a bug report.
    Cheers,
    ken

  • Automatically sending forms to a specific email

         Hi,
I am assuming there is already a way to do this. If i have created a form for online PDF. When a user has filled it in and they need to email it to me. Can i have specified automatically to recognise the form should be sent to my email address?
    Thanks,
    Al

When you create a form in FormsCentral you can set up the option to recieve email notifications (with the option to include the responses in the email).  You can save/distribute the form as a PDF and when the user clicks the "Submit" button the data is collected in FormsCentral and the notification is sent to you.
If you wanted to have the actual PDF emailed to you that is not currently supported using the FormsCentral data collection PDF but you could create the form in FormsCentral and save a PDF that is not enabled to collect data (from the Design Tab clicking "File - Save as PDF form" will save a PDF without the Submit button) you could then modify the PDF in Acrobat adding your own Submit button that would email the PDF back to you.
    Thanks,
    Josh

  • How do i change over from automatically adding songs to manually adding

Using 2 ipods on the computer and don't want all of the other person's songs. How can i change from automatically adding songs to manually managing the songs that go on to the ipod. If i plug it in, i'm afraid that i will mess up all my current songs on there. Please help.

Here are the instructions as they are written in the IPod PDF manual:
In iTunes, select iPod nano in the source list and click the Summary tab.
2 In the Options section, select “Manually manage music and video.”
    3 Click Apply.
Note: When you manage songs and video yourself, you must always eject iPod nano
from iTunes before you disconnect it.
To add a song, video, or other item to iPod nano:
1 Click Music or another Library item in the iTunes source list.
2 Drag a song or other item to the iPod nano icon in the source list
    Hope this helps you.

  • Auto-generate form fields from PDF in LiveCycle?

I have a PDF created with InDesign that is destined to be an interactive PDF form. For previous versions I have imported it into Acrobat and had it generate the fields based on the text columns I layed out in InDesign.
I wanted to try for more function in my form, so I thought I'd use LiveCycle, but I can't figure out how to get it to automatically create form fields when I first import the PDF. Is this not something that LiveCycle does, or am I just missing something?

    Hi,
I don't like automatically generated PDFs.
But sure you can create this with the LCD. The only thing is that the acrobat recognize lines (for example) and place a textobject to this location. The LCD not really.
    Open the LCD
    Then select "New Form".
    Then select "Import PDF".
    Then select "Create"
Then the software will try to recognize everything..
My opinion is - THE BEST WAY to create a formular is this to create by myself in the LCD step by step. Then this software has so many possibilities...for really good PDFs.
    Kind regards Mandy

  • How to submit a form as a PDF

I have created a form using Live Cycle Designer 8 from an existing Word document. I have added a "Submit by Email" button. Unfortunately, the button only submits the data in XML format. I would like submit the entire form as a PDF that can be read in Acrobat Reader.

You can go edit the XML Source and replace the <br /><submit format="xml" ... with <submit format="pdf"<br /><br />OR (thank you to OP for following)<br /><br />Open as a Livecycle form <br />Drag a button from the pallet onto your form <br />Change the control type to submit <br />On the submit tab [Submit to URL:] enter "mailto:[email protected]" <br />Change the submit as filed to PDF <br />Save <br /><br />BUT when user will be working with the Acrobat free reader, it won't work... you will have to do:<br /><br />Open the form in Acrobat Pro <br />Select advanced menu <br />Click enable usage right in Adobe Reader <br />Save <br /><br />I'm search the forum to find the fix to that, whitout having to extended the user's right....

  • Adding Form Fields to Structure

I am working with Adobe Acrobat Pro v9 with a PowerPoint document that I converted to a PDF.  I'm working on making it accessible.  It is a simple course certificate with one form field, a text box that the user simply types their name in.  When I run Accessibility: Full Check I get one error message relating to adding form fields to structure.
It says I need to choose Adanced Accessibility: Add Form Fields to PDF Tags.  When I do that and run the Full Check again, I continue to get the same message.
Am I missing a step?  Or is there anything else I need to do?
    Thanks!

Just some nattering here, but -
After any edits/changes save the PDF before running Full Checker again.
Open the Tags panel, expand the structure tree, from the Options menu turn on Highlight Content.
Walk down the tree. Look for <Form>.
From the Options menu (for the Tags panel) use "Find".
    Look for Unmarked Annotations.
Note that "Run Form Field Recognition" will add <Form> to the structure tree.
However, the OBJR beneath it is "generic" and not "your" form field.
For this situation you'd have to add yours (use Find - the dialog has a button to permit tagging an item).
Once the form field annotation is "in" the structure tree you'll want to ensure it is positioned appropriately; in context of the page's logical hierarchy.
    Be well...

  • Installing a premade form into a pdf

I am using acrobat 10 pro and windows 7.  My company has several files of their manuals. These files are interactive. Clicking on a PayPal logo within the document takes the user to a PayPal page that is a page made up for our company, where people can pay for their courses.
Looking at the action for this link shows a one line of code.  The file I was given from PayPal consists of 5 lines of code.  How do I install this form into the pdf so it works?  Here is the code of one link in a file that works. https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_s-xclick&hosted_button_id=8961306..
Here is what I got from PayPal.  <form action="https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr" method="post">
    <input type="hidden" name="cmd" value="_s-xclick">

    </form>
When I try to insert this  into the document, it just stays the same way.
The document  has gone though livecycle designer. I have added fields for people's address, name, etc..  I tried to get this PayPal file in before any changes were made to the PDF and also after opening it in Designer.
I would like some help inserting this so it works.

That is HTML code. You can't put HTML code into a PDF! You must examine the HTML and understand what it does; perhaps it can be translated to the same concept in a PDF form.
