Automatically email from a series of drop down lists
I am preparing a form which includes a number of drop down lists indicating individuals I need to have the form emailed to.
Example: List one "John Doe"
List two "Jane Doe"
List three"Design Department"
Each of the names will need to have an email address scripted to it.
After the lists have been populated, there will be a button on the form that opens the sender's email client, adds the email addresses from the lists and attaches the form to the email.
Possible?
Thanks, JimB
not sure why this is happening, though i have noticed some
odd reversals and missing dialogs etc. when using captivate.
my solution when you encounter problems like this is to put
captivate into full-motion record mode while you are using the
drop-down, and return to normal afterwards.
check the recording options for the hotkeys

In email on my IPAD, when typing an address into the to: field, the drop down list which appears has old email addresses. How do I remove them?
Removing addresses from the Contacts list will not solve this. Apparently it will take time for such addresses to be pushed off the drop down list.

The dropdown list "Store Files" in the "Import Settings" section of Aperture 3.3.2 displays the history of the entries previously added to the list. Some of the entries are no longer valid and I'm trying to delete them but I can't find a way to do this. This is a screenshot. Does anyone know how to do this?
Once again - the Jive system ate my bullet points and messed up the formatting
Is the MacOS X version in your signature correct? Then you cannot be using Aperture 3.3.2?
You should not be seeing duplicate entries in the "Store Files" pop-up menu. This looks like your Aperture Preferences file is corrupted and needs fixing.
Quit Aperture (and log off and on again, if you are running MacOS X 10.7 or later)
Then reveal your User Library (from the Finder's main menu bar, the "Go" menu. Hold down the options-key until the library apears in the drop-down menu)
In the Library folder select the "Preferences folder and locate the file "~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.Aperture.plist"
Now you can either
remove the com.apple.Aperture.plist file to the Desktop, to force Aperture to create a new one, but you will have to set again your Preferences from the "Preferences" panel,
or make a backup copy of the file and edit it, if you are an experienced programmer and have Xcode installed. To fix the drop-down list you need to edit the item "RecentReferenceFolders" and delete the redundant folder names. Enter "recent" into the search field to find it quickly. If you click an item in the list, plus/minus buttons should appear. But only try this, if you know how to edit property lists, otherwise it will be much safer to delete the faulty list and to set your preferences again from the "Preferences" panel.

Opening Word document templates from the New Document drop down does not open Word
I have a document library with a number of Content Types attached to it. Each one has a different Word document attached. We have an intermittent problem where when you click to open one of these templates from the 'New Document' drop
down list that nothing happens. The workaround appears to be either open Word first or re-boot the computer. I think there is a problem with SharePoint not linking in with Word correctly. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to fix this?
Thanks

J SykesHi J,
Can you please check in your internet explorer whether MS office Add ons enable or not.
If not enable that and restart your browser and try again.
Also try to repair MS Office if issue still persist.

Remove entries from windows-live / hotmail sign-in drop down list
I inadvertantly added my password onto the end of my email address while trying to sign in to hotmail. Now whenever I start to sign in,as soon as I type the first letter of my email address, I see a drop down list containing
an "email address" which is my email address AND my password combined.
how do I clear the drop down list or remove unwanted entries.I did make an attempt to use the above "Down
Arrow (not the mouse), hold Shift button and press Delete button on
your keyboard" suggestion and it does not work for OneNote 2010 installed locally on Windows 7 64-bit. -
RE: Using Drop-Down List in Express Application
The easiest way to do this is to define a domain for Gender that maps to
a droplist widget. ForteExpress will then automatically display the
widget in any ArrayWindow or FormWindow in which Gender appears. (I
don't think outlinefields support this widget.) There is a documented
customization for adding SQL to the domain to automatically fill it, but
we've found this to be a performance drag. What we usually do is cache
this type of list information on the client, usually by loading it into
arrays of listelement in a service object at user logon. The list is
then ready to go whenever a window needs it, and you can set the element
list of the droplist in PostOpenInit or wherever it seems appropriate.

Subject: Using Drop-Down List in Express Application
On an Express generated Form window I want to use a drop-down list to
define the list of valid values for a database field. The underlying
database field could have a datatype of either integer or character.
For example, on the database we have a Gender column defined. I want to
use a drop-down list that displays descriptions of "Male" and "Female" for
allowed database values of "M" and "F". The Gender column is updateable on
the window.
Any suggestions on the best way to do this? Would we need to do anything
different on Array windows?

Hi My self Arun in my current project i have a task on that active directory user need to automatically populate in share point list drop down please help me. is that any out of box feature in share point 2010 ?
Thanking You
ArunArun,
If you plan to implement the "Querying the Active Directory" based on my code snippet,
and if you do not have permission [your account must be the part of domain admin] to do so,
Then still you can do it in least effort through code,
string usersInXml = SPContext.Current.Web.AllUsers.Xml;your xml string look like this.
<Users><User ID="2" Sid="" Name="Administrator"
LoginName="i:0#.w|murugesan\administrator" Email="" Notes="" IsSiteAdmin="True" IsDomainGroup="False" Flags="0" /><User ID="1" Sid="" Name="Murugesa Pandian" LoginName="i:0#.w|murugesan\murugesan" Email="" Notes="" IsSiteAdmin="True" IsDomainGroup="False" Flags="0" /><User ID="1073741823" Sid="S-1-0-0" Name="System Account" LoginName="SHAREPOINT\system" Email="" Notes="" IsSiteAdmin="False" IsDomainGroup="False" Flags="0" /></Users>
You can user Linq to XML to filter the "LoginName,Name and Email and then populate your drop down list.
* User must be logged into the site at least once.

How do I create a drop down list to e-mail a form for signature.
The desired workflow is for
1) Firefighter 1 to complete the top portion of the Agreement
section, sign in the Firefighter 1 signature field (which locks the top
portion of the Agreement Section), then select Firefighter 2 from the
e-mail drop down list and e-mail the PDF form to Firefighter 2;
2) Firefighter 2 opens the e-mail and the PDF attachment,
completes the second portion of the Agreement Section, sign in the
Firefighter 2 signature field (which locks the bottom portion of the
Agreement Section), select Lieutenant 1 from the e-mail drop down list
and e-mail the PDF form to Lieutenant 1;
3) Lieutenant 1 opens the e-mail and the PDF attachment, checks
the approved box, signs the Lieutenant 1 signature field, select
Lieutenant 2 from the e-mail drop down list and e-mail the PDF form to
Lieutenant 2;
4) Step three continues through Lieutenant 2, Battalion Chief 1
and Battalion Chief 2
5) Battalion Chief 2 sends the fully completed form back to
Firefighter 1 who copies the completed form to Firefighter 2
Note: if any of the officers disapprove the agreement the disapproved
form is immediately sent back to Firefighter 1katiesandell wrote:

Hi Katie,
Welcome to Apple Discussions and the Numbers '09 forum.
Numbers vocabulary for this feature is a "Pop-up Menu". It's available as a Cell Format, and is set and edited in the Cell Format Inspector.
See "Using a Checkbox, Slider, Stepper, or Pop-Up Menu in Table Cells" starting on page 96 of the Numbers '09 User Guide.
This guide, and the equally useful iWork Formulas and Functions User Guide are available for download through the Help menu in Numbers.

Email Select People From Drop Down List
I am creating a form that sales reps fill out to go to one whole department and I have that all set with my email submit button.
However I also need to form to go to one of 5 others based off their names in a Drop down box for who is a manager for a certain region. Since all 5 don’t need to be copied on all form submissions I want our sales reps to be able to select their manager from the drop down list to ultimately add their email address in the CC field when the forms is submitted.
Is this possible?
Thanks, MikeOk,
if you don't know scripting, then you can use this macro (requires Desiger ES2 or ADEP Designer).
It will create the script for you.
The only thing you have to do is to install the macro.

Drop down list of email addresses missing from "Im...
Hi folks,
BT Yahoo's log in screen had the option of a drop down list of email addresses allowing you to select the one you wanted - this was very handy if you used several email addresses or there was only one PC in the house and various members used it.
In the new improved email, there doesn't appear to have this option - you go into the main account (when you discover how) and the option is still ticked, but has no effect.
I wish BT would remember that "if it ain't broke don't fix it!"
I would be grateful to know if it is possible to still select from a list.
Michael.Hi ypt,
Yes, BT are moving their email and associated services away from Yahoo! For more information on this please go to www.bt.com/newemail
The new BTemail service and platform will be provided by CP (Critical Path) and existing BT broadband customers will hopefully be migrated to the new email system and platform sometime in the near future once the field trials have been completed.
The BTYahoo login portal has been closed and you can now only login to your emails by the new BT email login portal on the http://www.bt.com website.
Cheers

How do I populate a drop-down list from a schema variable
I'm a novice programmer and new to the LiveCycle environment. I need help to populate a drop-down list in LiveCycle from a hard coded variable within my form's schema. I have a list of 28 names (the number of names and actual names change annually). That list is used over 30 times within a form for different selections. Since the list rarely changes, I would prefer to hard code it and make changes to the schema when they occur.
If I can't find a solution, I will be updating over 30 separate drop-down list objects each time there is a change to the list.
Thanks in advance for any help
ChrisCan you post your schema to [email protected] and I will have a look. You will also need to indicate which node in the schema is supposed to populate the dropdown.

Pre-Populating Text fields from a Data drop down list using SQL Server
I'm currently trying to update some of our internal forms which are word based or a basic PDF form you fill in by yourself.
I'm connecting to our SQL server as there are databases stored there for an internal bit of software that hold information
I can use to fill in parts the form.
I have a data drop down list that is dynamically linked to the SQL databass and allows you to select a Project Number from that database, what
I want to do after this is selected is to automatically populate some text fields with the Project name, Account handler and other fields held in the
database.
I've had a look online to see if there is a solution but haven't really found anythig that is similar (although I am new to LC so may have seen it
and not realised) and my Java is non existant.
Has anyone tried this and able to point me in the right directions?
I'm using LiveCycle ES2 version 9.0.0.2 from Creative Suit 5.5 on Windows 7
CheersHi,
Actually this error does not cause any harm except a presentation inconvenience. In my multi-select prompt I am using variable expression with dynamic repository variable. Dashboard results are correct. Just variable's value does not appear on page (error Error Codes: G689FFB3:SDKE4UTF
Expression: @{biServer.variables['CUR_CAL_PER_MONTH_NAME']}). Pushing "GO" button on the prompt fixing the error but it's actually second execution of the dashboard.
Any ideas ?? -

data drop-down list
Jason Murthy - 11:39am Feb 14, 2005 Pacific
Hello,
I am trying to use the data drop-down list from the custom library. I enter the name of my data connection and the other 2 variables in quotes when they are initialized, just like the example says to, but it still doesn't work. Anyone have any thoughts?
Thanks,
Jason

I am having trouble (sleepless nights) with populating a drop-down list from an Access Database. The result is: I only get the first record from the data connection. So the connection works but I cannot go through the other records. Maybe there is an other way to do this.
I am trying to selectively fill a form with data from an MS-access database.
I hope someone can help me.
