Autoplaying issue on hidden frames

Hi All,
Another interesting question that I want to rise up here is related to the video/audio autoplaying issue in hidden frames.
We're working on desktop application based on JavaScript/HTML/CSS and run within the Adobe AIR environment.One of the most craziest requirement which we have is to cache the URLS which are listed within the application. Other words we need to precache some pages to make they appearing immediately. As we use HTML/JavaScript we decided to make set of hidden frames and load the pages which are need to be cached in background. The issue is in the video/audio which can be on the cached pages. Often this video starts playing automatically on page loading event.
Is it possible to prevent autoplaying somehow?
Maybe hidden frames is not the best solution however we've to go with the frames after set of unsuccessful attempts and researches.

You're right that flash player is embedded into web page, however as I already mentioned this page is loading into the frame within the Adobe AIR application.
We're working with HML/JS driven application not a flash one. The application layout hosts the iframe within and allow to navigate this iframe to specific page.
In case if page will contains the embedded flash player (e.g. youtube page) it may starts playing on load.
The main problem is that we can't access the code which came from another domain so the webkit doesn't allow us to access the embedded flash player within the 3rd party page and disable the playing.due to cross-domain security reasons.
Hope my explanation is clear so we can move forward if you have any ideas ).

Perhaps you know that there are hidden frames and strokes available for Pages, Keynote, and Numbers. There is even an installer (http://www.macupdate.com/app/mac/32390/frames-and-strokes-installer).
These same frames and strokes are available on iBooks Author.
Work on a backup copy for safety, of course.

Display pdf in a hidden frame

Hello,
I have written a servlet which calls a server application and get a pdf as response. When I call the pdf it will be print directly with the default printer. This is because of the javascript code which i have parsed to the pdf. The problem is that the pdf is always displayed with the adobe plugin in my browser. But it should be only printed in the background. Can I target the pdf to a hidden frame out of my servlet. Please give me a source code example how to fix my problem.

Hidden Frames and Stokes in author

Hi- I am thinking that the same hidden frames and strokes available to iwork 09 are available to ibook author. I am still trying to find the support files for author and see if they are there. If not it might be possible to copy them from iwork into author:

Filter issues with hidden/visible columns on a table

I have a contact list that has contact info on it (office
phone, home phone, cell phone, etc). There are several hundred
entries in the .xml file. As a default, I am putting the contacts
in a table that has the office phone and email address visible, and
the other info hidden. I have a "ShowDetail" checkbox that will
allow the hidden columns to be visible and vice versa by using the
addClassName and removeClassName.
The issue I have, is that when you start typing in an contact
name when the checkbox is checked, the table flashes the correct
info up with the columns visible, but then the HTML is rendered and
the Hidden class is reassigned to the columns.
Is there anyway to run the javascript function that toggles
the class after the HTML is rendered based on the checked status of
the checkbox? Thanks for any help!

Encoding from mov to flv - issues with red frames

Any ideas how to fix this issue? Everytime I try to encode this .mov file in the begining of the encode there seems to be some issue where a number of frams turn all red and gets pixelated then it runs smoothly?

This issues seems to be with Adobe Media Encoder software which comes along Creative Suites.
Please post in Creative Suite or AME forums.

HELP! Need txt ouput, but issues with repeating frames...

In my data model, I have one main query, and three data linked queries. It IS a complex report, but I need to make it so that the user can output it to a delimited text file. I know how to do this, but when the report is printed, the rows are all mangled. If I PDF it, it's nice and pretty... one row per record. In my paper layout I have one parent repeating frame, which holds all columns, including 3 columns from the three data linked queries. Please help. Although I've written here before, I've never received a response, so I'm hoping this time will be different. Thanks.

I've read this document and that didn't solve my issue. I'm sure it has to be something others have done in building reports. A little more detail perhaps to help you help me:
Queries: 4
Main to get list of all students
3 other for attendance details (excused, unexcused and lates)
Paper Layout View:
1st layer: Frame
2nd layer: Repeating frame that holds all student info +
3rd layer: 3 more repeating frames for the 3 data linked queries that tells me if a student has missed any days.
PDF works great as an output, but it's needed an a delimited export or spreadsheet, both of which scrambles my 3rd layer numbers on different rows. I'm stumped. Again, any help would be great here.

Issue with hidden subforms and fields becoming visible when scrolling

Hi all:
Was testing an XFA form on a 13" macbook air when I noticed something odd: Page 1 (which had a presence of "hidden") became visible on-screen when scrolling down Page 2, which was set to visible. For lack of a better description, Page 1 "bled through" the currently visible page but then disappeared after the scrolling action was complete.
Here was the sequence:
- FYI: 4 pages in the form; only one page is visible at a time. When the document opens, Page 1 is visible and all the others are hidden.
- Opened on a MAC with Reader XI
- Answered questions on Page 1 and clicked a "next" button which set Page1 to hidden and Page 2 to visible;
- I zoomed in for a better view on Page 2 (again Pages 1, 3,4 are all "hidden" at this point)
- When I placed two-fingers on the track pad and scrolled down, the bottom of hidden PAGE 1 was revealed during the scroll, not the bottom of Page 2.
- When I lifted my fingers OFF the track pad, the bottom portion of Page 1 that became visible while scrolling disappeared and was replaced by the bottom of Page 2.
Same thing happened with pages 3 & 4. If I zoom in and scroll up, down, left or right using the track pad, Page 1 (even though it is set to hidden) "bleeds through" during the scroll and then disappears when fingers are lifted off the track pad.
I've done some testing and it happens on Macs running Reader. Mac with Acrobat and PCs with either Acrobat or Reader appear to be fine but not finished testing.

Has anyone else experienced this?? How can we stop it from happening as it is extremely confusing to the end-user to have two different pages mixing together when scrolling.

FYI, I tested the new Reader DC for this issue yesterday and it's still there. Hidden pages still bleed through.

New issue with blank frame at end of coverted .avi

Here is the project (scenario details):
I have 2 .swf files. Both are 30 fps. Call them "chapter1" and "chapter2". Frame count is 3600 and 9600 respectfully. The last frame of "chapter1" contains the same image as the first frame of "chapter2" - basically I'm splitting up an overall animation so I can easier manage two Flash documents versus one large document. I used SoThink SWF Converter to create 2 .avi files. When I place these .avi files back to back on the same timeline in Encore, both .avi files have an extra blank frame at the end. This causes a black frame flicker between the end of "chapter1" and the beginning of "chapter2". Even if I drag the end of the .avi on the timeline to the left (as to trim the video track), I still see a black, empty frame at the end. I don't think the problem is with SoThink because I've even imported these .avi files into Sony Vegas and zoomed in all the way to the end of each video track and the very last frame of both files is as it should be. This leads me to believe the issue is with Encore somewhere. Also, initially the problem in Encore was the audio tracks were extending a few frames beyond the video track thus causing the back to back .avi files to align according to the audio track (which was leaving a few blank frames from the video track). I have included some screen shots of the last 3 frames of "chapter1" and the first frame of "chapter2". Hopefully the images below appear in progression as I attached them. Watch the timeline indicator. One frame before the end of "chapter1" is black. I've run out of troubleshooting ideas. I can't imagine this would have anything to do with the .swf being 30 fps and the Encore timeline being DV NTSC 29.97 fps.

Not much more than me explaining the flicker between 2 .avi files, and the only response was someone telling me to just have one .swf file. I'm not sure why some people's response is to "just do it a different way" instead of trying to figure out what is causing the issue.
What does mediainfo or gspot show about the avis?
I'm not sure which information you need, but I will attach what I was able to get out of the problematic .avi. Let me know if you need different information. This was the first time I used MediaInfo.
Without knowing what to look for, I did notice a couple of lines that caught my eye. Line 25 mentions 30 fps frame rate (which I imagine is this .avi). Line 26 mentions 25 fps as the original fps (which makes me wonder if SoThink misread the .swf file as 25 fps instead of 30 fps) - not sure if I'm reading this right. Also, lines 45 & 52 mention a 26ms delay in audio (relative to video). Could that be why the audio track in Encore extends a couple of frames beyond the video track? Either way, Vegas is STILL showing the last frame as filled with the image. What does this report tell you? Maybe I should find a different way to export .swf to video. Is there anything else out there I might try (to see if the problem is SoThink)? Just looked at the .avi in PremierePro. The last frame looks fine. SoThink won't let me convert .avi to 29.97 fps.
Could the fact I have a 30 fps .avi placed into a 29.97 fps project timeline, could this be the issue? I tested another .avi (from a movie), and the last frame appears correctly in Encore. Now this looks as if the issue is back to SoThink's conversion to 30 fps. I really should find a different .swf to video converter and retest. Again, thanks for any help (from anyone) in this and suggesting alternative video converters.
*added - the .swf files contain tweened and frame by frame animation along with a streamed audio layer, but even when I completely remove the audio layer, the resulting .avi still shows up as a blank frame at the end. I thought at one point the fact I had a streaming layer of audio might have been forcing the frames in Flash to skip around, but this wasn't the case.

Photoshop 12.1 32 bit and Windows 7 autoplay issue

Hello. I've come across a problem with Windows 7 and photoshop and I was wondering if someone can point me in the right direction.
I installed Adobe Masters Collection 5.5 on a PC that has Windows 7 32-bit. It has Photoshop 12.1 installed. When I plug any USB camera into it, autoplay doesn't work. When I uninstall the Adobe Suite, autoplay works fine. I've changed autoplay settings in Windows and tried different cameras. No luck.
Is there a setting in the adobe suite that takes control of autoplay for cameras? Like I said, this only happens when I install photoshop. Once I remove it, autoplay works fine. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Not that I know of, at least not in Photoshop (I don't have the whole suite). I have Photoshop 6.0, CS4, CS5, and CS6 on my Windows 7 workstation and I still get normal autoplay functionality when I plug my camera into a USB port.
One thing though... I normally disable a number of extraneous things Adobe installs (e.g., Switchboard, Service Manager, updaters, etc.) via Autoruns. I wonder if maybe I've avoided the problem you're seeing because I do that.
I'll be interested in seeing the resolution for this issue when you find it.

Audio sync issues with variable frame rates as well as .ts files

I'm using Premiere Pro CS6 and CC, in Windows 8.
I bought an AverMedia Live Gamer HD card to capture 1080p footage with, and the the videos it produces work perfectly during playback. No sync issues whatsoever. I'm saving them as MP4 at 30fps.
The problem is when I import them into Premiere Pro, the audio loses sync at certain points. After a bit of digging, I've discovered that the videos have a variable frame rate, which Premiere Pro does not support. I don't know why, considering competing products that are significantly cheaper can handle them with a problem, but oh well. The capture card can also save videos in .TS format, which produces a constant frame rate, however when I import them into Premire Pro the sync is immediately off by a second or more. I assume this is for an entirely different reason. Again, they play back normally without a problem. Upon emailing AverMedia, I was told this was Adobe's problem and there was nothing they could do about it.
What I'm wondering is if there is any sort of realistic solution to this as of now. Is there any way that Premiere can work properly with files that have a variable frame rate? If not, is this being worked on?
Or maybe there's a way to get the .TS files back in sync, that way the variable frame rate issue doesn't matter anyway.
Converting the files is not a long term solution. I'm working with hours and hours of HD video, and it would take way too much time to do this.
Manually resyncing the audio is also not a solution. Again, this would just be way too much wasted time with each project.
The only solution I see as of now is to switch to Sony Vegas until this problem is resolved in Premiere, if it ever is. I'm really hoping there is some other way, so if anyone has an idea as to how to fix this, I'd really appreciate it.

Robot.createScreenCapture() is capturing the hidden frames also.

Hi All,
I am providing a full screen capture facility of desktop through a button present inside a JFrame (mainFrame). Whenever user clicks on the button, I am hiding the mainFrame (containing the button) and then doing a full screen capture of the desktop using robot.createScreenCapture() method. Once the screen is captured, I am showing that screen in a separate JFrame which is undecorated and is of full screen size.
My problem is, when I am capturing the desktop, I am getting the mainFrame also inside that capture image even I am hiding it before calling capture method. Sometimes, the mainFrame is getting captured with all components inside it and sometimes, just empty frame. This is happening only on Windows and Linux system. On MAC, same code is working fine.
I tried by calling sleep() method on current thread, by disposing the mainFrame once the button is clicked etc but in vain.
Can anybody provide me the way to overcome this issue? I need to capture only the desktop.

But its still reproducible within my main application. I am using JDK5. Will provide the sample application once I am able to reproduce the issue in that.

Playback Issues Repeated/Dropped Frame?

I have a hackintosh with Adobe CS6 Production Premium installed. On Premiere Pro when editing footage every so often I have a repeated frame/dropped frame. I don't think its really called a dropped frame because I have the drop frame indicator and it shows no signs at all (green throughout the timeline). When playing back the footage/clip it looks as though there is a duplicated frame then continues to play as normal. If I have a 5min sequence it will do this once every 20-30 secs. When exported everything is fine so can only be a problem during playback within Premiere. Has anyone come across this problem before? If there is a fix or would the upgrade just fix this problem? Any help would be appreciated.

Ppro 6.0.0
GPU: Nvidia GTX 680 cuda enabled
CPU: core i7
Mac OSX 10.8.3
Footage: ProRes 422 1920x1080 25p

If it doesn't show up in the export, it's a pretty minor issue safely ignored.

Cs6 issue with still frame duration setting not working, possibly yosemite problem

Hi, I moved my project over to my iMac, which I updated to Yosemite awhile back. Suddenly the frame duration for stills setting defaults to 5 even though it is set at 2 for my animation project. What gives?
I just bought my master collection two years ago and spent a pretty penny. There were updates for the Mavericks update but none for Yosemite? I think there need to be and people spend too much money on these products for the support option to be so skimpy.
Hopefully someone answers this issue with a solution. Otherwise, I will not speak highly of Adobe.

As suggested by someone on a different forum, I tried downgrading the firmware to 7.6.1. By doing so, the problems disappeared and WPA2 only mode works correctly. I will file a bug report with Apple.

Autoplay movie in hidden layer

My students are creating portfolios in Dreamweaver, and one
student has a rollover, that when clicked, brings up a hidden layer
in which he wants a QT movie to play. He set the autostart
attribute to false, since the movie was playing when the page
loaded, but now he can't get it to autoplay when the layer loads.
Any suggestions?

Except for the sarcasm, I do agree with Alan and Bonnie
- Don't see a hidden layer and the animation plays as soon as
you open the page.
If you try the flash forums, they may have some advanced
action scripting which would maybe let you achieve what you want -
the movie should play only when the layer is visible.
In my opinion, some user interaction or external trigger
would be required with the flash movie (not the layer/html content)
to trigger a change - make the movie stop or make it play.
A suggestion for you-
You need to apply the fix for active content so the flash
movie doesn't show an alert "click to activate and use this
control". Incase you're using dreamweaver8, if you update to 8.0.2,
the fix comes with the update. The update is available on the Adobe
site.
