AW01N-migrated assets deprecition calculation.

Hi All,
We are facing with a problem when we run the AW01N report.
We have migrated a Asset with NBV 1898.30 on 30/03/2008 and depreciation amount for Period (2) is  84.36 (migrated value)
And then for next period it should be
P3 - 42.18
P4 - 42.18
P5 - 42.18
P6 - 42.18
P7 - 42.18
P8 - 42.18
P9 - 42.18
P10 - 42.18
P11 - 42.18
P12 - 42.18
But the system is showing some thing like this
P3 - 48.08
P4 - 44.15
P5 - 44.15
P6 - 44.15
P7 - 44.15
P8 - 44.15
P9 - 44.15
P10 - 44.15
P11 - 44.15
P12 - 44.15
can any one help me how can i control so that i would be getting the first said planned depreciation. ie 42.18.
Thanks in advance
Bolla

Hi,
While migrating assets using AS91, the following needs to be considered:-
1.) Specify Transfer Date/Last Closed Fiscal Year: If the transfer date is not the end of FY then system interprets it as transfer during FY. Since you have migrated during the yr you need to put the transfer date.
2.) Specify Last Period Posted in Prv.System (Transf.During FY): This is required for mid-yr migration. Since you have migrated during the yr you need to put the last period as 2 and the system will start calculating from period 3.
3.) Expired useful life is calculated by the system automatically.
4.) Dep is calculated by the system depending on the remaining useful life.
Plz award ponts if above info is useful.

  • Asset Depreciation Calculation when Fiscal Year are Different

    Hi,
The client reporting company is in US and the company code is maintained with K4 fiscal year varient. (for common controlling area).
Though the India entity follow K4, their depreciation calculation are based on V3 (April to March).  The real depreciation for their postings is based on their April to March calculations.  The depreciation is calculated on the WDV method and the net assets are calculated on the end balances of December where as it should be the April of previous year.  the eg. is

  • Asset depreciation calculation for prevous year  when legacy data transfere

    Hello,
Asset Legacy Data transfer has made as on 31.12.2006. so, for the first period asset depreciation calculation has done wrongly  i.e. on the first period of 2007. but it was not noticed at that point of time, now after 2 years, the cumulative difference is coming out very big.
for 1st period, in Asset Value Tab of AS03,  for period 01 , 2007 when i am checking right now it shows for dep. Area 01 right now that Amt to be post (14.48) instead of that in the next line for Dep. area 20 and in the next line it shows, Amt. to be posted ( -0.28). hence, for next period only differnce amount is posted in G/L side instead of actual it should be posted as 14.76.
so, now because of this error, my G/L and AA sides are not matching up.
eventhough i post manual reversal entry via FB01, when i will run ABST2 there will be problem.
if i run manual unplanned depreciation, then will my problem of not matching of Asset side and GL side will be solved. ?
also, please provide suggestion from your end in order to solve this issue.
    Thanking you for your help.
    Jigs.

We cannot post any depreciation to previous fiscal year 2008 as no planned depreciation is envisaged for the previous year 2008. The transfer date for Legacy asset data transfer is maintained as 12/31/2008 and takeover values are uploaded accordingly. Hence, 2009 is a first year for Asset Accounting of the company code.
However, Depreciation posting program checks for previous period log while executing for the current period. The logs are stored in u201CTABAu201D table. For new company code there will not be any entries in TABA table.
Due to missing functionality, System is checking for previous year depreciation posting logs even though the current fiscal year is first year for planned depreciation and giving error message AA 687.
As per SAP Note 144441 this error can be rectified with the help of correction program ZACORR_TABA_ENTRY_CREATE.
    Steps to Rectify the Error:
    1. Copy correction program from SAP Note 144441 into SAP System.
    2. Execute the program with transaction code SA38
    3. Check the values in test mode
    4. If the table is updated with documennt number , remove the test mode tick and execute again
    5. Execute the deprecation

  • How to differentiate migrated assets and newly purchased assets?

    Hello Experts,
I would like to make a report for fixed assets, and that report has a field for beginning balance.
I have a question on this beginning balance field.
As you know, we have migrated fixed assets from legacy system and new assets that are purchased at SAP system.
When I make above report, how do I differentiate migrated assets and newly purchased assets from the beginning balance point of view?
Please let me know the database fields to classify above two things.
    Thanks.
    BR,
    Chris

    Hello Lakshmaiah and Ajay,
The reason we want to have this kind of report is that this one is for tax reporting.
As Ajay mentioned, SAP standard asset reports like S_ALR_87011990 is good but they are not enough.
When I looked around some tables related to fixed asset values, I found out there are 2 fields might be related to above questions.
    They are ANLC-KANSW and ANLC-ANSWL.
There is no value at ANLC-KANSW field in SAP cut-over year if it is new asset, and ANLC-ANSWL has no value if it is migrated asset.
I guess if I use above 2 fields, I might be able to classify two things.
Do you guys agree with me?
    Thanks.
    BR,
    Chris

  • Issue with migrated assets

We have an issue with migrated assets a few years ago where some assets have now started depreciating in one depreciation area but not the others.
The assets had been retired at the date of migration.  In order for them to correctly be shown as part of the opening balance for the year and also shown as being disposed during the year, in addition to loading their original cost, opening accumulated depreciation and depreciation for the year, a record was created in the ANEP table to show that the asset had been disposed of during the year.
The records were created as below:
This did not cause any issues until we upgraded to EHP 6 about six month ago.  Before this, depreciation area 30 did not generate depreciation entries.  Subsequent to the upgrade, depreciation area 30 started depreciating and posting depreciation to Group Currency.
For example, the asset below is not generating depreciation in depreciation area 01:
But it is depreciating in depreciation area 30:
Can anybody suggest how we correct the historic disposal record in ANEP for depreciation area 30?
    Regards
    Gareth

    Thanks Ajay
The area is now set to post depreciation, which it did not before.  To be honest, we actually prefer this as the previous configuration resulted in FX differences, which this does not.
Our only issue is with the assets that are now only depreciating in dep area 30 which we are trying to rectify.
The problem is that they have a NBV in area 30 which is incorrect.  The other areas are correct.
Ideally we need to scrap them without generating a FI posting.
    Any ideas?

  • This is regarding Asset Depreciation Calculation

    Dear All,
I had doubt regarding Asset depreciation calculation. If i want to Dpreciate the Total Asset value Upto 95% and 5% is scrap value ,where do we configure this setting in SAP Asset Module.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Prasanna.M

    Hi,
You can achieve this by either scrap value / memo value in your depreciation area.
Go to AS02, go to dep area tab, double click on depreciation area and in detail section enter the scrap value percentage or value. This procedure is only possible, if scrap value maintainance is allowed at main asset and sub asset number in AO21.
    This will resolve your issue.

The asset useful life is 4 yrs.  Client would like to calculate depreciation for first yrs one ration of dep. then from 4th year he would like to change dep ration the NBV should be 1JPY.  Financial year Feb to Jan
    Example
    Cost JPY100,000

    revised dep ratio 1
Can any one help in this regards,
    Thanks,
    Pavan

Sorry my apologies a small correction.
You can determine the asset value date based on rules:
these rules are defined in configuration.
asset accounting >transactions> specify how default asset value date is determined.
    great config..SAP is great..

  • Problem in Asset value calculation ... ANEP and ANLC

    Hellö ,
We have a problem in calculation of the Fixed Asset values. Please see the link below for the problem. Technically it sums up like transaction values are available in the table ANEP but ANLC table is with the wrong value, Some of the transactions are not reflecting in the calculations of planned values for some of the Assets.
    http://docs.google.com/View?id=ddqnbgm8_49cmgq86gx
We develop and implemented a functionality with the next
    characteristics:
    a. When we ran the MIRO transaction to a fixed asset situation, a
substitution in accounting documents (using a user-exit ) determines
the profit center to the fixed asset and insert the line
    item in a custom table.
    b. The custom program identifies all pending line items for processing
(via custom table) and, for each fixed asset identified, reverse the
original accounting document, and post the fixed asset in the profit
center '04219CL000'. To do this movement between the profit
center '04106CL000' and '04219CL000' the custom program uses a zero
    balance account.
    c. First of all, the custom program set the Field <negative values>
    (BAPI1022_DEP_AREAS- NEG_VALUES) using the function
BAPI_FIXEDASSET_CHANGE. Later the custom program post the accounting
    document using the function BAPI_ACC_GL_POSTING_POST;
    d. In less than 1% of the cases the fixed asset posted in this process
it seems with a problem: the asset line itens (transactions  - ANEP
table) where correct posted but the fixed asset acquisition values
(ANLC table) where posted in a wrong way (it's initialized - without
any value sometime or not summing up some transaction values properly).
    e. Our custom program does not update any field value on the asset.
All the modifications on the asset are being made by the standard
    functions above.

    Hi,
the problem is: Does anybody give you the correct value for each part?
If you know the value for each part you can use transaction ABUMN to transfer values from one asset to a new asset. With this transaction you can create a new asset. And you can make a partial transfer.
If you use this transaction you can simulate before you transfer it.
But as I said the problem is to find out the correct value. In germany for example we have to activate all in one fixed asset (computer with cbu )
    Hope this answer your question.
    Best regards
    Volker

  • Asset Depreciation calculation BADI implementation

    Hi Experts,
We have a specific requirement for calculation of rapid depreciation in assets. When a change process(termination) is run in CRM side it creates an asset on ECC which has to be depreciated rapidly.
We have to cumulate the values of billplan and post it as depreciation amount for depr. area 01 to which special depr. key is assigned.
I have activated implementation of BADI FAA_EE_CUSTOMER ( method SET_PERCENT_AMOUNT).
The problem is when i put a breakpoint in this method and run test depreciation ( txn. AFAB ) it doesn't even come to the break-point.
Is there something I am missing in this enhancment. Please suggest.

You need to change depreciation key to use approriate Base Value method (with X,Y,Z, indicator).

  • Migrating Assets Under Construction?

    Hi all,
A customer has many fixed assets that are currently under construction during a Go Live implementation.  I realize ByD uses projects as a bit of a work around for handling assets under construction in the system, but what is the best way to handle the data-migration of these assets under construction in ByD?  (along with the expenses/etc associated with these assets under construction)?
    thanks a lot,
    -Ben

    Hi Gopal,
My understanding is that project balances cannot be migrated in ByD. We have been advised to manually key in all existing projects with budgets, sales orders etc. We are not sure what to do with existing project costs and invoices as historical data cannot be migrated either.
Since you suggested migrating the 'Assets under construction' as projects, I wonder if that is a special category? I was planning on using 'Direct Cost Project' process variant as suggested in the ByD help centre for 'Assets Under Construction'
Any further information is appreciated. Thanks

I'm trying to do an upgrade from Leopard (10.5.8) to Snow Leopard. I used a new hard drive with a clean install of Snow Leopard.
First, I tried to copy my data over during the installation, but the welcome movie would reset every time I got to the part where I selected the source disk for Migration.
I skipped that part and booted into Snow Leopard and did the combo update to 10.6.2.
    Then I tried Migration Assistant.
    1. Used old hard drive in an external enclosure connected via USB. After 3 hours, Migration Assistant was still "Calculating..." the disk space for importing my old data.
    2. Used most recent Time Machine backup connected via USB. Again, it is still "Calculating..." after an hour.
Any ideas? I seem to have two options:
    1. Copy data manually and lose a lot of settings (e.g. Keychain)

  • Asset Scrapping - Calculating Depreciation for entire year

    Hi guys
We want to scrap an asset without revenue using ABAVN.
    Asset Details:
The asset will be completely depreciated by the end of this year (December)
    We have smoothing indicator on.
We wish to post the retirement and close out the asset balances in this month itself.
(No depreciation should be pending for the remaining periods of the year)
When we post the retirement transaction in test environment, it still shows the planned depreciation for the entire year.
How do we avoid the planned depreciation posting for future periods ?
    Thanks!
    Gautam

Perhaps, the following might be a solution that can be implemented safely in a production setup:
Objective: To post retirement related depreciation in a single period without smoothing over the remaining periods.
    Solution:
Perform standard depreciation posting run for current period
    Turn Smoothing Indicator Off
    Write Off Asset
Run Repeat Depreciation Posting Run (select Repeat Posting Run instead of planned and also input the retired asset number)
    Turn Smoothing Indicator back on
This should post the complete depreciation in the current period for the retired asset and smooth out the depreciation for all remaining assets

  • Migration of Tax calculation procedure---TAXINJ to TAXINN

    Hi Gurus,
Currently we are doing technical upgrade from 4.7 to Ecc 6.0.
Considering benefits and advantages of TAXINN procedure,we want to migrate from TAXINJ to TAXINN so that it will also support CRM.
Kindly help me about the roadmap and guide for the migration.
    Regards,
    Krishna

    Mr. Krishna,
changing from TAXINJ to TAXINN is not simple, as such SAP also has no guide for it.
We tried doing it in one of our upgrades from 4.6B to ECC 6.0 (for a Chemical MFG company in 2008) but SAP said they have no guide lines / notes available for this.
TAXINJ will also support CRM, and SAP will support TAXINJ procedure as long as the client is with the current SAP version.
This is what they told us. And it is logically correct, because when we change tax procedure, we should take care of 4 big things.
    1. Open PO update after tax procedure change
    2. Open SO update after tax procedure change
    3. Change account determination
    4. Create new condition records
And more over, we will have to create all access sequences againa and maintian the master data.
It is a risky item... although not impossible. As far as I know and I came to know from SAP, no client who has upgraded has migrated the tax procedure.
For more details contact SAP Helpdesk and put your query.

  • Asset depreciation calculation based on net book value adjustment

currently I have one asset depreciated based on acquisition value, I want to depreciate using netbook value starting from May,
thus May and afterwards depreciation should be 61107 USD.
but accountant forget this and depreciate asset in May with amount 54628. the June planned depreciation is still based on Acquisition value, i.e. 61150.
So how to adjust June depreciation, if I create a new depreciation key with multi-method based on NBV and change asset master,
    will this solve problem?
how to adjust May posting since it is already posted? thanks

    Thank you for the reply.
But The issue here is I changed the depreciation key based on NBV, but planned depreciation still based on acquisition value for the following months. by the way, OAYR is monthly depreciation. I didn't tick the smoothing, I think this will affect whole company code. I only want to change the depreciation key based on NBV for three assets only, the rest of assets still using Acquistion value depreciation.
I do test in a sand box, now the latest posted depreciation is April, original depreciation key is Z001 (based on Acquisition value),
I changed the depreciation key to Z002(based on NBV), in AS03, I can see the planned depreciation for May is still 61150(based on Acquisition value). I run AFAB, (test run), the result is same.
My objective is let May and subsequent months  planned depreciation to be 61107 based on NBV of April.
Simply change the depreciation key doesn't work at all, anyone have the solution, which other fields in asset master I need to change? or do i need other configuration? thanks

  • Help on Asset Depreciation Calculation BADI

    Hello Gurus.
I'm using the Business Add In BADI_FIAA_DOCLINES to change the way SAP calculates the depreciation amount for an asset in transaction AFAB.
The customer needs to compute it based on PP information. I already have everything, but in that BADI there is a field missing. I need the number of the asset that is being depreciated, and it should be stored in the structure IS_RLAMBU and the tables IT_ANEPI and CT_ACCIT.
However, all I can see is an empty field, or, in the best case simply I see a * sign.
I hope I was clear, and I thank you in advance for your valuable help.
