Azure Cores Upgrade

Hello,
I would like to know how I can upgrade my package to run more than 20 cores at the same time?
Currently my subscriptions only allows up to 20 cores?
Please advice.
Thank You.

Hi,
Kindly read
this article
Here is a snippet
Good point is the quota increase doesn’t impact billing and the user is charged based on usage and not number of Cores assigned.
Best Regards

2011 MacBook Pro, 64 bit i7 quad core, upgraded to Lion OSx, Bootcamp installed with Windows 7, wanting to install Windows 8 (don't ask), tried downloading/installing bootcamp 5.0.5033 (both on the mac/windows partitions (actually using a parallel to run Windows)), error message something similar to bootcamp doesn't support this Windows
So the question is am I doing something wrong? Should I just try and install windows 8 through my windows 7 partition and see if I can use the bootcamp 5.05033. Or do I solely have to use the bootcamp to install Windows 8? I'm not too familiar with bootcamp and how it runs.

if you're using parallels and full bootcamp then you're making it 100% more troublesome for youself then it needs to be
bootcamp is running windows directly on the hardware this give full memory and cpu and 3d video game power
running windows in parallels is running a virtual machine where one can't run powerful games and the like but one can have it in a window and change fast between osx and windows
parallels as the only virutal machine (as far as I know) support not have the operating system as a file on the osx harddisk but can access a bootcamp parition as virtual machine but without the benefits bootcamps provides
it's a service parallels provide for those who want both to play games in normal bootcamp and sometimes use windows in a virutal machine
just install it like a normal virtual machine and you need not worry about bootcamp drivers and the likes
plus it would mean that the windows part would be a part of the timemachine bacup of osx
which it is not when it's in bootcamp

Is is possible to install Win 2007 in MacPro (retina display) with USB (2.0 or 3.0) as new Mac retina display lacks DVD.
MacBook Pro with Retina display, Windows 7
They have been calling their notebook a MacPro for a year. Or is it this?

  • Ultra 20 dual-core upgrade: when and what?

Does anyone know when Sun will make a dual-core upgrade kit for the Ultra-20s available? From what I understand, it shouldn't take much more than a new processor and some BIOS changes.

Call Sun, the only CPU related CRU currently available is the fan/heatsink!

Anyone can help me tracing in which package the missing file is located (if it's not in compiz-core)?
Last edited by dexgeh (2012-10-16 17:58:39)

I managed to solve the issue commenting the --indirect-rendering flag and installing and launching driconf to create a default ~/.drirc file.
I just noticed that in the same upgrade I got intel-dri from 8.x to 9.x version, maybe it's related.
Launching a terminal in .xinitrc and manually launching
    LIBGL_DEBUG=verbose compiz --debug --replace ccp
show me a lot of errors, but it's working, and I don't need anymore the --indirect-rendering flag (in the past I put that flag in the command because of the bad performance that compiz had without).

  • Imac Core Upgrade??

How would I go about upgrading my Imac, which is capable of holding two cores?
Do I have to buy the processor from Apple or are there equivalents on that I can buy online?
    Thanks in advance,
    Jason

The core is not a user upgradeable part. That means there is risk any upgrade to the core will void the warranty. I say risk, since none of us here works for Apple, but are aware of the part of the warranty which discusses "unauthorized modifications", and can't really state Apple's policy for certain due to terms of use on the right. Thus if you want to do a processor upgrade, you'd best take it up with AppleCare, if you still have an under 1 year old machine, or one you purchased AppleCare for to make sure you don't run into trouble. http://www.xlr8yourmac.com/ is the most thorough site I've come across to discuss processor upgrading. Cooling is a big concern because many of these machines have very specific fan speeds to keep them cool, and cooling gel which when applied too much becomes an insulator and overheat, and too little would overheat too. Thus any such installation is pretty much at your own risk.
In addition, because each model has very specific hardware/software integration, it is possible you may make it impossible to upgrade your software once you install a new core, as the software won't be seeing the hardware it expects.
If you really want to upgrade the speed of your iMac, be sure to spec RAM (x), and consider keeping your hard drive at most 85% full (x) (an arbitrary number), as that slows down the system. Also keep your active Dashboard Widgets to a minimum, and use your USB bus wisely with the Apple System Profiler to make sure not too many 12 Mbps or slower devices share the high speed bus.
    (x) Links to my pages may give me compensation.

  • Quad core upgrade.

Is it possible to upgrade a single quad core MacPro to a eight core? It is a 2.8Ghz single quad core mac pro.
    Thanks,

Scott Yes but is not worth the trouble. Sell the single and buy a Dual. I have a single and if you do not
do video it is speedy enough (Macworld benchmarks).

  • Why does a SQL Azure DACPAC upgrade (via a PowerShell script) consistently take 30min to complete

I created a PowerShell script to upgrade a SQL Azure instance with my latest DACPAC (taken from http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee634742.aspx).
What I have experienced when running my PowerShell script is that it consistently takes approximately 30min to execute. The script is idle for almost half an hour waiting on $dacstore.IncrementalUpgrade($dacName,
$dacType, $upgradeProperties) to return from execution and nothing is printed out on the PowerShell console window. Only right at the end of the half hour does the incremental update start spitting out console messages which inform me that
the upgrade is taking place (essentially it appears that the script has hung for 30min until it finally comes back alive and the script does this consistently every time).
Does it usually take this long for the IncrementalUpgrade to complete and is there supposed to be a 30min period of inactivity/waiting?
Note that I am running the PowerShell script from my local machine which is external to the Azure network.
Thanks for any insight you can give for this, I am hoping that I can reduce this incremental upgrade process to substantially less than 30hr so that my continuous integration build doesn't take so long.

    Answer this post
According to Microsoft Support this is a known issue and will be fixed in SQL Server 2012 (code named Denali). Here are the details from Microsoft Support:
It’s a known issue that using SSMS 2008 or PowerShell to update DAC on SqlAzure is very slow. SQLServer 2008 utilize old extraction engine which run query for every column and small object. This way works well at on-premise server, and meets
SQLServer 2008 original design target. However, when managing the SqlAzure database, the query need be transferred over internet, network latency makes the old extraction becomes inefficient, especially, when network is not good.
Our SQL product team aware this issue and designed new extraction engine to fix it. The new engine is integrated in SQL Server 2012 (code name Denali). Unfortunately, some of the engine behavior may bring break changes to SQL Server 2008. We try
different approach but we can’t relief regression barrier when apply the new engine in the SQL server 2008. Therefore, we don’t have plan to deliver the new extraction engine as hotfix on SQLServer 2008 so far. That will impact the current on-premise
    users and operation.

  • Asus quad core upgrade

Hi. Quick question here: I'm looking to buy the Asus G51VX-RX05 gamer but would like to upgrade the CPU from the currnet duo core to a quad core.  Anyone know if this is possible and, if so, how much extra?
    Many thanks in advance.

The Asus G71GX is an amazing laptop in my opinion.

  • Duo Core Vs Quad Core upgrade question

Looking for some solid answers on what improvements if any that a Quad Core (Q9650 3ghz) CPU would have ove a Duo Core (Q6850  3ghz) in Ppro CS4.Especially when it comes to AVCHD editing. Any thoughts as to this upgrade would be worth it?

Harm is correct, look at the Premiere Pro CS4 Benchmark (PPBM4) results and see the result for those two processors.  While you do get a small incremental inprovement it probably is not with the cost.

    You've been given some misinformation.
RAM is the only thing in an iMac that IS user upgradeable/installable.
You cannot void the extended AppleCare installing your own RAM modules.
So, whoever told you this, has lied to you.
If you actually opened the iMac's face and attempted to do some other internal work, then yes, you would've voided the 3-year warranty.
But, opening the RAM access area and upgrading the RAM does NOT void the AppleCare warranty.
What type or manufacture of RAM was it?
Macs a very picky about the RAM that they need to use.
Here is the correct RAM specs for your model iMac.
    Maximum Memory
    16 GB
    Memory Slots
    4 - 204-pin PC3-8500 (1066 MHz) DDR3 SO-DIMM
Correct and reliable Mac RAM can be purchased from online Mac RAM sources Crucial memory or OWC (macsales.com).
Plus, whoever installed OS X 10.8 Mountain LIon on to this 2009 iMac should've done so.
OS X 10.8 is a download only OS and is forever tied to some other Apple ID other than your own Apple ID.
I do not use OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion, but there should be a recovery partition that you can use to try and reinstall OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion.
Hopefully, someone with more experience with OS X 10.8 will be able to better help you.
If you need a set of OS X restore discs, then order OS X  10.6.3 Snow Leopard from Apple here.
    It is only $20 U.S.D.

  • Core upgrade from i5 to i7?

i've been wanting to get a pavilion 14-n223tx recently, but i realised i need a faster i7 processor and a 8gb ram. can this model be upgraded before purchase

    Hello,
    Hello,
Thank you for considering HP products.
CPUs are soldered onto the motherboard of a laptop, which cannot be swapped/upgraded.
You may check www.shopping.hp.com for the laptop of your desired specification.
    Thanks!

  • K8T NEO2 dual core upgrade problems

Hi Everyone hope someone can help here I have just purchased a dual core 4200 socket 939 for my 6702e it has been running fine on my 3200 the 4200 is the one with the 2 512k cache if that helps.
I have the latest bios through msi update think 9.40 so here is my issue. As I have stated this runs no problems at all with my single core 64xp but once I put the new processor in no boot or anything not even an error beep, all the indicator lights on the back panel go amber. I have cleared the cmos and installed 1 stick in the second purple slot 1 gig still nothing.
Any help would be appreciated and thanks in advance.

Is the X2 4200+ new or did you buy it used from eBay or some such? What does it show for BIOS version at the upper left when you boot the PC? I ask this just to confirm you do indeed have 9.4 BIOS.
Make a signature with PC information. Also include specs for PSU from label on it, see my sig. example of what info to provide.  By making signature your specs will show in every post you make.
    To create signature:
Click on PROFILE above (near top of this page) and then in your "Profile" what I show in red below, scroll down to "Signature" and enter your specs in the box and then click on "Change profile" button on the bottom.
Rebooted to make sure hehe yepper 9.4 bios
Also fixed signature to the best of my knowledge.
Thanks again for the reply and yes this is a used processor off of ebay reputable seller with no negatives so he has a DOA clause but just trying to trouble shoot this so I don't have egg on my face before I ship it back

  • W520 quad core - upgrade RAM to 32GB - Kingston vs. Crucial & 1.5V vs. 1.35V ?

    hello all,
    I'm about to upgrade my W520 memory from 16GB (4x4) to 32GB (4x8).
I need to choose between the two models (x2 of course):
    1. Kingston SO-DIMM 16GB KIT DDR3 1600MHz HyperX CL9 Plug and Play (1.5V)
    prod. code KHX16S9P1K2/16
I think this one is a well proven solution for such configuration and virtually fail-free (true?)
    ... and ...
    2. Crucial SO-DIMM 16GB KIT DDR3 1600MHz CL9 Ballistix Sport (1.35V/1.50V, XMP)
    prod. code BLS2C8G3N169ES4CEU
this is XMP, dual voltage version - can work at either at 1.35V or 1.5V
    it would be nice to have slightly lower consuption and less heat, but I don't know if the machine is able to work at 1.35V memory wice;
and being XMP vs PnP - would it mean any hassle around with SPD and such?
does anybody have any experience or knowledge in this regard?
or which one would you recommend?
btw I'm not going to make any overclocking, etc ...
    thank you
    Stirri

I bought curical, they didnt work (constant BSOD), got a refund, bought the same samsung RAM as was already in there, worked a treat.  Slightly more expensive, but I recommend getting samsung if you can.
