Backend system Integration and OrganiZation Structure set up in SRM 7.01

Dear SRM friends,
                               I am a new entrant in SRM. We are trying to setup a system where the SRM (7.01) box is connected to the ECC 6 - Ehp4 box.
Can any one share with me the initial setup that is required to be done. Also if you can share some information on the backend integration (in our case back end is a ECC system).
We have a plan to replicate the Plan driven procurement in SRM using ECC as backend. So the blue print plan is to create a PR thru MRP run in ECC and this PR will trigger the Shopping cart in SRM system. And then assigning source and PO creation happens in SRM system.
If you can tell me the settings required for building this demo, I would be hugely benefited. Your valuable answers will be duely rewarded.

    Hi experts,
    Do you know if someone has successfully integrated EC Organizational Structure with SAP HCM OM Structure? I mean cases when the organizational struture is created and maintained in SuccessFactors and then transferred to SAP HCM OM (organizational units, positions, holders) in order to avoid double maintenance in SAP.     You should read the EC to SAP ERP integration handbook (found at http://service.sap.com/ec-ondemand) as there are certain caveats regarding field lengths, etc. Ensure that your enterprise structure in Employee Central makes sense from an SAP perspective, because certain objects (e.g. a Department) can be shared by multiple parent objects (e.g. Divisions) and you need to ensure it will make sense in SAP in terms of workflows etc.

  • TIME MANAGEMENT AND ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURE

    Good afternoon,
    We are going to customize the Time Management (PT) and the Organizational structure (OM) modules in SAP version ECC 6. At the moment we have installed an configured a lot of SAP modules: Personal Administration (PA), Payroll (PY), besides other modules not related directly with HR like PM, MM, IS-U, etc.
    We need::
    - To be able to define the organizational structure of the company with every work unit, inside every work unit locate the employees with their functions and positions, etc.
    - To know the number of employees that are avalaible for a service requirement (PM module)
    - To manage with SAP all the absences when the employees don't go to work.
    We have had training of some official courses but I think that they are not enough to achieve the goal, I think we need some kind of guide.
    Do you know if exists any consult SAP note or other kind of document where it's explained the steps or the good practices for the customization of these SAP modules (OM, PT).

  • General Ledger - System Integrity and Control Check

    Our SAP Business One system receives input from various sources on a daily basis. Therefore we would like to establish a business process to ensure balancing of the books and monitoring of suspense accounts.
    How do we develop reports to check the following 3 items;
    1. Business Units (On and Off Balance sheet accounts not balancing to zero and Monitoring specified category of accounts)
    2. Ledgers Vs Journal integrity (Ensuring Journals, Detail Ledger and Daily Ledger are all consistent at all points of time)
    3. Financial integrity (Comparing the balances held between the detailed Ledger, Monthly Average Ledger and Yearly Average Ledger - ensuring they are synchronised at all times)

  • My  screen is dark... need help.  I have checked the system preferences and they are set to brightest setting.  I also did this with my F2 key and it is set to brightest.  Still monitor is not bright... any ideas?

    We usually advice first to Reload web page(s) and bypass the cache in case of such problem and then do a check for extensions to see if any are causing the problem.
    * Press and hold Shift and left-click the Reload button.
    * Press "Ctrl + F5" or press "Ctrl + Shift + R" (Windows,Linux)
    * Press "Cmd + Shift + R" (MAC)
    Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

  • Music CD won't read on my iMac but will on my husbands. I've looked in system preferences and it is set to open music cd in iTunes. What else do I need to do?

    My iMac spits out two, new CD's I purchased today that I'd like to add into iTunes. They will play on my hubby's iMac (his is newer but same 10.8.6). Under help it recommended checking CD/DVD settings which I did. Any other ideas? Evidently my system has a MATSHITA DVD-R   UJ-875 (assuming I have that right for what also plays the CD's).

    NOt an iPhoto issue - either a bad CD or a bad Superdrive on your computer - no way for us to tell  try the CD in a different computer

  • Photoshop cs4 new system integration and network problems

    Hi there!
    I am new to the forums, but I will just dive right into my issue rather than introducing myself:
    I recently did a new hardware install (16 TB of clustered storage) at a mograph studio that are heavy users of Photoshop CS4, amongst other things.  Prior to the new storage, they primarily used an Xserve with attached RAID device, and CS3.  They are now experience high amounts of file corruption on PSDs from saving over the network.  I am, of course, aware the Adobe does not support network saving, due to the plethora of problems that may exist and the difficulty of recreating such varied environments.  I also know that neither Apple nor Adobe seem overtly concerned with this problem, although they may have fixed it with updates in CS3.  The users are aware of this fact, but continue to stress that they had "no problems what so ever on the xserve".
    Basically, aside from the facts that are available in http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/406/kb406793.html and found on the forums, has ANYONE found an exceptable work around for these sort of issues.  Also, we tried the "save as" fix that was posted on these forums, and that did not work either.
    Please, any help is extremely appreciated.  Thanks

    If you have a working network and servers -- it can work. (and does for most of the servers inside Adobe, and those in my home)
    But if anything (OS, network, server) malfunctions -- the process breaks in difficult to diagnose ways.
    Photoshop is already following all the safe file save guidelines, testing for permissions, testing for space availability, etc.  But still things fail on networks.  And when we look into the failures, it's rarely the same cause and usually can't be worked around in any reasonable manner.
    As application developers, we're frustrated too.  We know it can work.  We know it should work.  But some things are too far beyond our control.
    Bottom line:  Finder and Explorer add a lot more error checking to server file copies, and do their copies in relatively simple patterns (unlike file saves that can involve random seeks and writes, depending on the format).  Saving locally and copying to the server afterward is going to be safer (adds at least 2 more layers of error checking).  The same goes for copying from the server then opening -- though we see far fewer errors reading from a server than writing to a server.

  • Change in backend system

    Hi SRM Gurus,
    Project Scenario is ECC5 as backend system integrated with SRM 4.0( SSP scenario and with Catalog CCM2.0)
    Implementation scenario is Extended classic.
    Backend system will be changed to ECC6 from ECC 5.0 with company code consolidation.
    ECC6 is installed on separate server for implementing changes in FI (separate Dev, QA, Prod environment ) and will be integrated with SRM4.0
    Question is that when we integrate SRM4.0 with ECC6, do we need to run transaction BDLS to change logical system name in SRM for backend system?
    As all product categories and vendor are same in ECC 6.0 will this work.
    Also there is GUID reference in table CRMLSSGUID & CRMPRLS in R3. How this will be taken care.
    Option 2:
    no need to run BDLS in SRM. We need to define new backend system and  replicate all master data (product categories, UOM & vendor master) from ECC6 to SRM4.0.
    SRM experts, please suggest as for me option 2 is suitable way.

    Hi SRM experts,
    In Org structure   Product categories will be maintained with Source system (new backend system) in extended attributes. Also for vendors new  backend system maintained in attributes.
    With these settings user will able to see the product categories, vendors pertaining to New backend system.

  • Unable to define connector for multiple backend systems in BRM

    Hi,
    I am on GRCFND_A V.11 and SP04
    I have multiple backend systems integrated with GRC box. So far I was using one backend connector as default one for role maintenance but it is not feasible if you have to create roles in variuos backend connected systems. I know one way to do so, i can keep changing the default connectors whenever i need to create roles but that is obviously not at all the onw any one would like to go with.
    So, I tried to create unique connector groups for every individul backend connectors. But the issue is, the moment i assign the backend connector to the respective connector groups, the same gets reflected to other connector groups as well. So, whenever i either add or delete some of the connectors to any connector groups it gets modified/changed from all of the connector groups.
    These are the backend connectors where i have to create roles from BRM whenever needed.
    These are the connector groups:
    I followed to the ink: GRC AC 10 BRM: Default Connectors with Multiple Back-end R/3 Systems , which is the same as mine issue, but not able to come to the solution point.
    would appreciate for your quick response.

  • Organization Structure level

    Hi All,
    I know this is a fundamental question, so guide me if this is not the right place.
    I am new to HCM and am trying to get my fundamentals right. I have been reading a lot about organization structure and organization plan. In real life scenarios when we create an organization structure, is it created at a company code level or enterprise (client) level. Bottom line, is there only one organization structure created per client or multiple?

    Hi Sudhir,
    Vishru and Vikrant have given you an excellent start.  I believe you are confusing some terms here - Company Code is determined by the Financial organization and refers to a group having their own set of books - general ledger.  There will be at least one Company Code per country but there may be more than one in a country if you have subsidiaries or divisions that keep their own general ledgers. 
    In HR the Organizational Structure shows who reports to whom.  This may cut across several Company Codes as the CEO may manage the heads of several subsidiaries each of which has their own P&L responsibility.  The structure then continues down in each subsidiary again showing who reports to whom.
    The Personnel Area and Personnel Subarea (Enterprise Structure) usually look at location and function - where a person works and their function in the company.  For example, all persons working at the Corporate Headquarters may be in the same Personnel Area if they are all at the same location.  But they may work in Fianance, HR, Purchasing, etc. which may be separate Subareas.  But each Personnel Area may be assigned to only one Company Code.
    The Employee Group and Subgroup (Personnel Structure)determine the type of pay and benefits the employee may receive.  Example, Salaried Employee, Hourly, Union Worker, Part TIme, Full Time, etc.  These will cross Company Code lines if they have the same benefits, work schedules, pay structure, etc. 
    What you must remember is that every employee has an assignment in the Enterprise Structure, Personnel Structure and Organizational Structure and these are all assigned in IT0001-Organizational Assignment.

  • Master data in SRM when backend system change

    Hi SRM Gurus,
    Our scenario is ECC5 as backend system integrated with SRM 4.0(  SSP scenario and  iwith Catalog CCM2.0) Tech Implementation scenario is Extended classic .

    As SRM system will remain same what will happen to present master data in Production system.

    We can delete this master data in SRM Dev and QA.
    Can we keep master data pertaining to ECC5 as it is in SRM.
    Any idea as to what type of impacts one can expect if backend system changed from ECC5 to ECC6? Is there a recommended approach for this?
    I already referred note SAP note 418886 /995771.

    By changing to ECC6.0 you would be entering a new backend system. Since the master data in SRM is linked to the respective backend system, it should not impact you.The old master data would still be there but linked to old backend system. You can let the data remain as it is if you want.

  • Syndication of merged records to multiple backend systems (MDM 7.1)

    Hi all,
    I have setup an MDM scenario with >1 ECC systems connected to MDM via PI. Everything works fine in terms of end-to-end process from ECC to MDM or MDM to ECC (creation, update, syndication). I have also merged records in MDM from the same backend system and am able to see the remote key information under 'edit key mappings' and when I update the merged records in mdm the data is olso updated in ECC.
    BUT the update in ECC does not work for merged records where the keys are from different backend systems.
    Example:
    Remote system: RS1 and RS2
    I have merged two records, one from RS1 and the other from RS2. The newly created record has two key mappings (RS1/RS2). Also the newly created record shows - let's say - RS1 in MDM and the the RS2 informaion is attached as remote system information. When modifying the record in MDM, only RS1 is updated but not RS2.
    Remote Systems RS1 and RS2 are set up in the Cosole. Also I have setup a port for each remote system. Syndication in general works perfectly without any problem. I know that I have to trigger syndication for each port but still does not work. Any ideas?

    You have this one in 7.1, too. "Output Remote Systems" was renamed to "Remote Key Override". I don't know why, but the functionality is exactly the same.
    > "Supress Unchange Records" is checked
    This explains the behaviour that you are facing. "Supress Unchanged Records" is used to distribute only these records that have been changed. What happens inside MDM is the following.
    MDM Server creates kind of a change pointer for the changed record AND for each remote system that record belongs to:
    Imagine you have a record A with a key for RS1 and RS2 each. You change this record. MDS creates two change pointers A-RS1 and A-RS2.
    Now you switch to Syndicator and distribute the records with the port for RS1, but with "Remote Key Override" for both RS1 and RS2. Syndicator creates a single message and includes both the remote keys for RS1 and RS2. Furthermore it deletes BOTH change pointers A-RS1 and A-RS2 as the record was distributed for BOTH systems!
    If you then connect with Syndicator to the port for RS2 and start the syndication, Syndicator cannot find any change pointers and thus won't create a message.
    If you want to send the golden record to different systems, I'd suggest to add each system to MDM Console. Create a syndication map & port FOR EACH system. Within the map use the target system only as "Remote Key Override". Use "Supress Records without key" to exclude those records, that do not have a remote key for the target system. Use "Supress unchanged records" if you want to distribute only the changed records.
    If you need a message having all keys of all systems (e.g. to update a BI system with grouping information), create a specific remote system for this purpose. Create a map & port, the map shall now use the "Remote Key Override" for all systems. The "Supress" settings can be made as above, but especially for BI we're recommending to syndicate always all records (do not "Supress unchanged records").

You can use example of Standard Service Order Transaction SRVO, Standard Partner Determination Procedure 00006, Standard Access Sequence 011 Executing Service Organization, Standard Organization determination rule 1000278 and organization structure 50004983 to explain the connection.

    transaction.
    For example, org data determination is set up in the container after
    the postal code and product.
