Background error workitem handling

Hi All,
Is there any standard report or background job or any standard feature to handle the error workitems?
how to handle the error items?
Thanks & Regards,
Sangeeta

Hi Sangeeta,
You can opt 3 ways to handle error workitem
1) If error is due to system crash :  Run transaction : SWPC
2) Sometime by running transaction SWPR(restart workflow), error gets removed(sometime)
3) Look into the logs and find out the reason and act as per that.( Solution is hectic one)
4) Logically delete instances of workflow, in case the process for which WF is created can be handled manuallly.

Vikram Singh.

  • System Performance - ERROR Workitems

    Hi Friends ,
    I have the following query .
    I have no of workitems in ERROR  status and workflow has been stopped . I dnt want to process those workflows further .
    I dnt want those  ERROR workitems to be cleaned from my sysetm . I think  this ERROR workitems may hamper the syetm performace later .
    Is there any way through which i can remove all these ERROR Workitems along with respective workflows from my system.
    Is the ERROR Workitems  affects the  syetm performance .
    Thanks in advance  .
    Regards
    Prabhudutta

    You can archive them. This will remove them from system but also will keep safe in archive for future ref if you need.
    SARA is teh tcode and object is WORKITEM.
    it is not only errored but all teh work items if grow over certain volume can cause proformance issues. best way to handle is put and time based archiving policy like archive at the end of every year keeping one years hostory. So there is nothing to do for first couple of years. If systems is old enough it is time to start thinking.
    Just remeber it is nto only Staus ERROR work items in all other statuses like COMPLETED CANCELLED etc etc will effect teh profrmance once they reach a certain volume.

  • Error message handling in BAPI...

    Hi Guys,
    I am working on documentation of a BAPI used SAP insurance module. Now I want to see all the error messages associated/ handled in that BAPI. How can I do that ? Is there a table in data dictionary where I can see error messages handled by a given Function module/ BAPI?

  • UCCX 8.0.2 - error while handling the request

    Hi Guys,
    My Customer have UCCX 8.0.2. He needed did change prompt and when He try to do upload the new script, appear the message: "error while handling the request". Any have idea who solve this problem?
    Thanks,
    Wilson

    I saw this before on 8.0.2, I had to delete the prompt/script/document and the upload it again (instead of overwriting it). I believe this was fixed in SU4.
    Edit: this is the bug id - CSCtq23837 (unable to overwrite scripts) - resolved in 8.0(2) SU4

    I am having a similar problem. My method:
    protected void searchQuestions(String keyword) throws LibraryException {
    XmlQueryContext xqc = null;
    XmlResults xr = null;
    XmlQueryExpression xqe = null;
    String[] qids = null;
    String query = "collection()/*[contains(question, '" + keyword + "')]";
    try {
    conQuestions = man.openContainer(QUESTION_CONTAINER);
    xqc = man.createQueryContext();
    xqc.setDefaultCollection(QUESTION_CONTAINER);
    xqe = man.prepare(query, xqc);
    xr = xqe.execute(xqc);
    conQuestions.delete();
    xqc.delete();
    xqe.delete();
    XmlValue val = xr.next();
    while (val != null) {
    String name = val.asDocument().getName();
    System.out.println(name);
    val = xr.next();
    val.delete(); <-- PROBLEM HERE
    xr.delete();
    } catch (XmlException xe) {
    throw new LibraryException("Unable to search for questions. " + xe.getMessage());
    If I leave the val.delete() line then I get a java.lang.NullPointerException but if I remove it then I get an error stating 'Database handles still open at environment close'. I run a clean up method after the previous method as follows:
    protected void close() {
    if(conQuizes != null)
    conQuizes.delete();
    if(conQuestions != null)
    conQuestions.delete();
    if(conUsers != null)
    conUsers.delete();
    if(man != null)
    man.delete();
    I have many other methods that interact with containers perfectly but this is the only one where I use the XmlValue class. I tried the solution that worked for brais.mendez with no luck. Any advise or ideas would be much appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Matt

  • [BUG] Problem with Error message handling in JDeveloper 11.2.1.0

    Hello!
    I'm Daniel from Brazil.
    I have been facing a problem recently to which I see no solution. I need to use a specific component called 'Panel Label and Message' in order to nest three other components which need to be grouped together to work properly (an input text box, a LOV calling 'search button', which searchs and populates the input box, and an output text box which displays text depending on the input field). This works fine!!
    The problem comes when I try to place an Access Key that should focus on the input text box part of the group component. In order to do that, I put it on the 'Panel Label and Message' component, and set the 'for' property to the input text box. This too works fine, as when I access it the component redirect the focus to the right place.
    Problem is, when the user decides to this specific field (which is required) blank, JDev has problems handling the actual name of the component, and just calls it 'Component', as the screenshots below show. Apparently, for the other error messages that are handled by myself or generated by other means, it deals with the component's actual name just fine. Is there any way around this? Thanks!
    'Panel Label and Message' component properties. it9 is the id of the 'Input Text' field component. Access Key set to F.
    http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v82/myfireburnsblack/PropertiesErrorBug.png
    Error message I get (it's in portuguese). Field has been left blank, and JDev says I have to put something in, but refers to the field as 'Component'. Any other error is handled correctly, as far as I've tested.

    Hi Daniel,
    You're not the only one who has seen this: {message:id=9938606}
    As mentioned in that other thread - I had tested similar use cases and it works for me.

  • No error-workitem with rule resolution

    Hi,
    using the Flag "Terminate if Rule Resolution has no Result" in rule definition we expect an error-workitem when agent resolution determines no agent. However only the workflow-frames are set to status error. The WF-protocol shows no error-workitem (SWI2_ADM1 therefore does not work either). The protocol ends with the last (sucessfully executed) step before the rule for agent determination is executed.
    Without the Flag "Terminate if Rule Resolution has no Result" the workitem is send to all possible users (as expected) if no agent is determined.
    We need an error-workitem in SWI2_ADM1 in this case. Any ideas why this is not working? Our Release SAP_BASIS, SAP_ABA: 701.
    Regards,
    Frank

    SWI2_DIAG (for the Workflow frame) shows the following error messages:
    Error in resolution of rule 'AC90000002' for step '0000000270'
    Agent determination for step '0000000270' failed
    --> These entries seem to be OK reagarding the expected error-workitem
    Error during result processing of work item 000000002737
    Error when creating a work item
    Error when creating a component of type 'Step'
    Error when processing node '0000000270' (ParForEach index 000000)
    Error when processing node '0000000270' (ParForEach index 000000)
    --> I can not explain these entries; we don´t have a multi-level-step; it is single approval-step for 1 invoice
    --> Apparently this error does not occur when the flag "Terminate if Rule Resolution has no Result
    " is not set  (in this case the workitem is send to all possible agents without any problems)

  • Amfphp - flex remote object error event handler

    I'm using amfphp and I want it to return an error that the flex remote object error event handler will pick up. At the moment I can get only the result handler to do anything in flex.

    Hi,
    Try throwing an exception in the remote method. For example,
    function inverse($x) {
        if (!$x) {
            throw new Exception('Division by zero.');
        else return 1/$x;

  • I can't down load itunes. I get an error message, NTVDM has encountered a System Error The handle is invalid.

    16 bit MS-DOS Subsystem
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\msiexec.ex NTVDM has encountered a System Error The handle is invalid.
    Choose 'Close' to terminate tha application.
    Close   Ignore

    Okay. It seems unlikely to be the class of similar problems caused by various Symantec programs blocking installs.
    It's a bit of a mystery in the first place why the 16 bit DOS subsystem is running in this context. (The iTunes installer is 32-bit on XP machines.)
    Just in case it's a damaged NTVDM, perhaps try an sfc /scannow:
    http://www.updatexp.com/scannow-sfc.html
    Does that clear up the error?

  • Data Collection Set 'Server Activity' Failure Waiting on a kernel object(s) failed. Inner Error ------------------ The handle is invalid.

    All of the system data collection sets have been running for 6+ months without any issues, couple of weeks ago the 'Server Activity' collection set failed to restart after a planned maintenance server reboot.
    When attempting to manually start the collection set it indicates "success", but after refreshing the collection set it showing as stopped. Viewing the logs for the Data Collection (Server Activity) I am getting the message:
    Waiting on a kernel object(s) failed. Inner Error ------------------>
    The handle is invalid.
    After some research into this really unhelpful message I came across one posting where this error has been found to occur in SP1. We are running SP2 which include the fix so this shouldn't be the problem (ref http://connect.microsoft.com/SQLServer/feedback/details/585210/sql-server-2008-data-collection-execmasterpackage-timeout).
    To see more detail on the root cause of the error I enabled the additional tracing for data collection (http://blogs.msdn.com/b/sqlagent/archive/2011/07/13/enabling-additional-tracing-for-data-collector.aspx). This provided an exception stack which indicated
    that the issue was thrown to what looks like an existing file, referring to a location (e:\) which doesn't exist in our system.

    I am now stumped as I haven't found anyone else experiencing this issue.
    Any ideas, please help??

    Thanks for the pointer Eileen, problem solved.
    Can't believe I missed it, but after reading the last section on system hangs it occurred to me that I hadn't checked that all dcexec.exe processes were killed when I disable the data collection service.
    For anyone else experiencing this issue I identified the dcexec.exe processes using the following in cmd line:
    TASKLIST /SVC /FI "IMAGENAME EQ DCEXEC.EXE"
    On the default setup of the data collection there should be two dcexec.exe processes constantly running, one for "Server Activity" and another for "Query Statistics". On our server there were five running with the data collection disabled.
    After killing all of the processes and restarting the data collection problem solved!!
    Still need to understand why the processes didn't shut down cleanly when the server was restarted, but at least I know where to look now.

  • Shared VHDX on CSV... Error opening handle for initiator The request is not supported.

    Hi. Im having an issue in my lab testing out the shared vhdx functionality of 2012 R2.
    The hardware is as follows2x HP DL380G5 with 2xHP P800 Smart Array controllers 2x500GB SATA SSD 2x1TB SATA HDD. Ive used Starwind to create 2 Cluster Shared Volumes on which my shared VHDX files are.
    The issue im having is that after the creation of shared vhdx files (3-4 hours) any failover change in the vm configuration will result in Error opening handle for initiator. Initiator: {460b2b45-2f5a-485f-b045-60b68b655895}. Hostname: HYPERV1. File: \SQL QUORUM.VHDX:SHAREDVIRTUALDISK.
    Error: The request is not supported..
    Ive set the ISCSI sync adapters to "dont allow cluster and client communication" and prevented it being registered in dns (nslookup only shows one ip) yet every shared vhdx has this issue.
    Can anyone suggest if this is a hardware issue or software ? It is such a timesaver compared to multipath io and iscsi on the guests id like to get it working.

    Ok I figured out how to fix this issue, After searching the code online I found a post about someone trying to use this feature and getting the same error code with the vhds on the iscsi disks of a consumer nas which didn't support kerberos authentication.
    Even though I had the cluster setup so the iscsi sync network was set to "do not allow cluster communication" and not used for live migration it was still trying to use this network for the shared vhdx.
    The cause was the network binding order which had the iscsi nic above the server one. After putting the 10.0.0.x server adapter on top and rebooting no more messages appeared in the shared vhdx event log section and failover of the guest
    clusters worked.
    Hope this helps anyone else who has this problem.

  • Error in handling Print Params In Parallel Processing of background jobs

    Hi Friends,
    My requirement is to optimize the performance of standard pgm RELEABL1 that takes a long time to complete when scheduled in background,and for that i have created a zpgm which will split the input data and run the jobs in parallel . I am using the submit statement and JOB_OPEN and JOB_CLOSE function modules to schedule the standard prg RELEABL1 in background with the input from my zpgm. The problem here is there is a push button " PRINT PARAMETERS" near the execute button on the selection screen of the standard pgm RELEABL1 in which the printer details have to be mentioned. Whenever i schedule the job in backgroung it throughs an error stating that " Define the Print Parameter First " . I tried my luck with all possible combinations but not able to handle this through my zpgm.....otherwise my pgm works fine. Can someone please guide me on how to handle this print parameters either through submit or what ever way possible.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Balaji.K

    Hi Balaji,
    We have the same performanced problem. 8 processes in parallel, still suffers from bad performance. How many subscribers are there on the system and how many processes do you use ?

  • Error:Assign handling Unit from one Process order to another process order

    Hi Experts,
    I am facing different issues in assigning handling unit from one process order to another.
    Business process:
    1. Two similar Process Orders are existing in the system
    2. Delivery is created for first process order using LP10 for one or more components
    3. TO is created in foreground using VL06P
    4. TO is confirmed by providing in stock available Handling Unit (HU) / storage Unit details Using LT12
    5. Customized transaction is used to reassign newly created HU (created in previous step) from first process order to second process order. As a result many steps are performed in background for delinking the HU from first process order to second process order (including creation of different TOs)
    I am facing different issues in the process:
    1. Sometimes while confirming the TO in step 4: error is received as "Reservation item 0065 with material 4013959300300 does not exist" OR "Reservation item with material does not exist"
    2. If the TO is confirmed in step 4. I am facing error in step 5 as "Warehouse number  does not exist (new selection required)"
    Both these errors are standard errors and I could not find much information on them in SCN also.
    If anyone can throw light on any of them then it would be great.
    Please let me know if any additional information is required.
    Thanks
    Harsh Aggarwal

    Hi Manish
    Thanks for your response. Actually, the customized program is used only in fifth step and not till TO confirmation so that error is not related to Customized program. However, in some cases I am able to do the confirmation but the error is received in 5th step i.e. Warehouse number  does not exist (new selection required)"
    Any further guidance you can provide. I will ask ABAP to check the customized program but the error seems to be a standard error.
