Bad firmware preventing a full charge?
Hello,
I just bought a 5G iPod today (to serve as a replacement for my past two iPods), and was slightly irked to see it missing a wall adapter. I religiously read over the instructions and preceded to plug in the iPod into one of my PC's powered USB 2.0 ports. After about 35 minutes, the iPod said it was done charging.
Interesting side note... I have had the same problem with my other two iPods. It rendered their battery lives anywhere from 4-6 hours. While I'll admit that is a decent amount of time, I am an audiophile and need as long as possible.
I have a feeling it is a problem with firmware, but I don't know why this problem keeps repeating itself. I kind of anticipated the problem, and checked the device manager to make sure there was power to all USB ports. It reads 500mA. I switched it from a USB port in the front of the tower to one directly off of the board and the problem persists. I still have it plugged in.

Information: Update BIOS and Battery Firmware to ensure full charge capacity
Is your system’s BIOS and battery firmware updated to the latest level?
If not, you may not be getting the maximum capacity and run time from your battery!
Lenovo’s engineering team released updated BIOS and battery firmware in July that is applicable to customers who have ThinkPad models:
X100e, L410/L510, L412/L512, SL410/SL510, T410/T410i, T510,T510i, W510 or ThinkPad Edge, 13, 14, or 15 inch units.
Customers who use Lenovo ThinkVantage Toolbox would have received a notification and opportunity to apply this update, and Lenovo’s ThinkVantage System Update tool would also identify and apply these updates.
If you aren’t using either of these tools, and have one of the systems above, please follow this link to our support site. You can learn more there, and download and install the updates specific to your system.
Probably also worth mentioning, is an earlier tip applicable to X200t and X201t tablet users who have 8 cell extended batteries. This technical tip and related BIOS updates ensure these batteries properly charge to their full capacities, and resolves a particular symptom where the battery would stop charging at less than 50%.

Recommendation before updating bios:
- detach all devices from you system
- undock your system, if docked
- start from a cold boot. (shutting down the system completely, wait 15 min, start up again)
- if possible, upgrade with a cd-rom drive
Edit: Recommendation added.

So basically my iPhone 5 has been heating up so bad that it feels like its about to over heat and die. I've never had this happen to any other of my iPhones. On top of that the battery is dying so fast that on a full charge is lasts about 3 hrs give or take. Ive tried closing all my apps like i usually do anyways, i tuned down the light, I've reset it and booted it back up, reset it and used iCloud backup, ext... Nothing is working. I'm to the point where i almost want to get a new phone. I even tried calling apple support and they couldn't help me cause from what it sounded like they had no idea what they were doing. If anyone has any comments on how to fix this i would greatly appreciate it . I do love apple products and i have a upgrade and plan on upgrading my phone when the new one comes out but for the time being IDE like to fix the phone i have now that I've only had for a little bit anyways. Thanks
You are probably going to have to take a trip to the Apple Store, but you can also make sure that:
Bluetooth is turned off when not in use
Location Services are only turned on for those locations that you want a constant update to
Background App Refresh is turned off
Automatic Downloads is turned off
Cellular Roaming is turned off when you don't need it
Go through your Settings and take a look at all of the settings to determine if you have any turned on that may be using a lot of battery, and which you really don't need.

Hai team,
I found problem on iPhone 4S IOS 6.1.2 , whether this is bug?? Or normal?? I see my iPhone in setting->general->usage "time since last full charge"!!! Can't showing time.

Sent from iPhoneA good read. Have you done anything at all to resolve your problem. Reset? Restore?
By the way - "your products"... nobody here produced the iPhone, we are all just users. Apple is not here. -
I have a bad idea I might of blown up my iPod touch 5th generation battery by a mistake, please any suggestions on how i could try and turn it on? It is completely blank and it had full charge before it shut off. In need of desperate help :-(
Would be very grateful if someone could get back to me
Thank you very much- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try another cable
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

I have just got my iPad2 and am very pleased with it. I have a question regarding the monthly (recommended) battery full charge. Should I let the battery completely die down to nothing at all before I plug in to recharge or would this complete drain be bad for my iPad?
It's not bad for it - on this page www.apple.com/batteries/ipad.html it says :
For proper reporting of the battery’s state of charge, be sure to go through at least one charge cycle per month (charging the battery to 100% and then completely running it down). -
my iphone 4s batery back up is very bad. do u ppl also facing same prob? it works only for 5hr after full charging. should i go for check up or not?

My 3GS iPhone will not hold full charge for very long. It gets very hot in my shirt pocket even when hot in use. Any ideas?
Double-tapping the home button does not show apps that are running. This is not a task manager, it is merely a list of recently used/accessed apps.
Basic troubleshooting of the device is reset, restart, restore. Has a reset or restore been tried?
Check to see if updates exists for the apps, this could be a simple issue of a badly coded or buggy app that needs to be updated. -
My iPhone baffles me. It started doing this and I was told it was the battery, so I replaced the battery. Nope, same issues. Here they are. After a full charge which takes only about an hour, it rapidly loses power after another hour or so. While in my apps, I can keep them open for maybe 2 minutes and they shut down. When I do the double tap to see whats running, the apps I opened are, however they are't. Wierd stuff here folks I hope someone has had this before and can help me out. I don't have a job and cant' afford a new phone.

If I let my battery die on my mac bookpro on accident, how can I get the full charge back?, If I let my battery die on my mac bookpro on accident, how can I get the full charge back?
Connect the AC charge to the system. Battery will charge to 100%.
But it is very bad to drain the battery to Zero. So don't make a habit of doing that. -
Thinkpad Twist S230U - Battery Issue (Only 1 hour on full charge)
Hello all,
I'm desperate here. I purchased my Twist from eBay and from that time I've had a battery issue. I was only getting approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes off a full charge before it died.
I mostly just tolerated it and had to keep close to an outlet as I assumed the battery was just bad.
In the last week I decided to do someting about it and bought a replacement battery, opened up my laptop, and replaced the old battery with the new one.
Hopeful that my problem had now been remedied, you can imagine my disappointment when the issue was even slightly worse. Now I get an estimated 1:06 on a full charge.
I installed BatteryBar and it tells me "Capacity: 13,870 mWh of 14,060 mWh" and "Battery Wear: 66.9% of 42,480 mHw".
I'm running Windows 8.1. I've replaced the original hard drive with an SSD. I've installed the "Lenovo Settings Dependency Program" and "Lenovo Power Management Driver". I've tried changing power settings. Nothing works.
A one hour battery life is just miserable. Can anyone provide some insight as to what may be done? I'd appreciate it.Thanks for the response!
It seems that with Windows 8 there is not a "battery gauge reset" feature included with the Power Manager as there is in other versions of Windows.
Right now I'm trying what is considered a "manual reset" that I read about online. The battery was charged to 100%, now I'm allowing it to drain completely, and then I'll plug it back in and allow it to charge fully.
Is this an appropriate method to reset the battery gauge, or should I be doing something else?
Thank you. -
Cycle count verses full charge capacity.
My battery on my mackbook says to service battery. Now I know the cycle count is high but it seems to me that the full charge capacity is only about 50%. The macbook is about 2 years old but I would have thought I could have gone longer with the battery since the charge capacity is still pretty good. So, which is better to go off of, cycle count or full charge capacity, and from looking at the specs below does it appear as though I will need to buy a new battery? Thanks..

How many hrs do you get on a full charge? - mine is not good...
here's the problem...on a full charge I can get max 2.5 hrs, and my MacBook is like 3 months old.
I was wondering what other ppl are getting on a full charge....please include how long you've had your MacBook.
Also any recommendations in regards to what I should do would be great, i already re-calibrated the battery and turned off bluetooth....I need AirPort though
*has anyone heard of Apple replacing a battery on a refurbished MacBook, while still under the one year limited warranty?
Thanks,
Brandon

Approximate Full Charge Capacity?
What's the approximate Capacity that a macbook battery should have?
mine reads:
Full Charge Capacity (mAh): 5273
-That is not bad. The battery is rated at 5200 mah. So your a little above. Don't be surprised if your mah goes up a little with proper care. Below are some links and other info the are good to know about the MacBook and it's battery.
MacBook reduces processor speed when battery is removed while operating from an A/C adaptor
Apple portable computer's battery does not show a full charge in Mac OS X
You should calibrate your battery at least every month or two. I do mine every other month and have had no problems. Look here and here for some good tips about battery care. -
What is your MBP 13" full charge capacity?

The unit was purchased on Saturday and right out the box it had an FCC of 5618. After the first full cycle (condition) the FCC read 5542 and and now it's gone down even more. When I was at the Apple store they had 4, 13" MBP demo units and they were all scattered between 5300-5700 with all less than 5 cycles.
I think your battery is fine, from what you've said. I also wouldn't read too much into the 3rd party battery health monitoring tools, from experience what they judge as "95% of full charge capacity" is typically not entirely accurate.
