Bad packet error when link oracle

Need help! Please give me your hand.
Error java.sql.SQLRecoverableException: Io Exception: Bad packet type occurs when I run the application. Here are details:
I worked under Red Hat Enterprise linux 5, Jdk1.6.0_10, Oracle 10.2.0.1. I had downloaded ojdbc6.jar, put it in _/usr/java/jdk1.6.0_10/lib/_, and changed my /etc/profile:
JAVA_HOME=/usr/java/jdk1.6.0_10
PATH=$JAVA_HOME/bin:$PATH
CLASSPATH=.:$JAVA_HOME/lib/dt.jar:$JAVA_HOME/lib/tools.jar:*$JAVA_HOME/lib/ojdbc6.jar*
export JAVA_HOME
export PATH
export CLASSPATH
Part of my java application:
import java.awt.*; import java.awt.event.*; import javax.swing.*; import java.sql.*; import oracle.jdbc.driver.*; try{ Class.forName("oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver"); conn=java.sql.DriverManager.getConnection("jdbc:oracle:thin:@localhost.localdomain:1158:orcl","system","zhonghuafy"); /* other code--I had already annotated it */ JOptionPane.showMessageDialog(null,"conn Succeed!","Welcome",JOptionPane.INFORMATION_MESSAGE); } catch(Exception e){ JOptionPane.showMessageDialog(null,"Database Link Error! \n"+e,"ERROR",JOptionPane.ERROR_MESSAGE); }
But when I run it, it seemed that something was wrong:
oracle@localhost ~$ javac testoracle.java
oracle@localhost ~$ java testoracle
errorjava.sql.SQLRecoverableException: Io Exception: Bad packet type
I don't know what's wrong. Please do me a favor!
Thank you!

Thanks for your kindness! It worked! Yeah... I was confused by those ports. I thought the port using in url in jdbc is the one in em. The em address is http://localhost.localdomain:1158/em for orcl instance. Oh my God!
Thank you!

  • Errors when installing Oracle Client 10.2.0.2.0 on zLinux (Red Hat)

I am receiving errors when installing Oracle Client 10.2.0.2.0 (Administrator) on zLinux. During the install I receive two notifications for File Not Found when the installer tries to create the link for lib32/libclntsh.so.10.1. I hit ignore on the pop-ups and the install completes. The Oracle Net Configuration Assistant then fails to launch with the following error:
Output generated from configuration assistant "Oracle Net Configuration Assistant":

The "/opt/oracle/product/10.2.0/db_1/cfgtoollogs/configToolFailedCommands" script contains all commands that failed, were skipped or were cancelled. This file may be used to run these configuration assistants outside of OUI. Note that you may have to update this script with passwords (if any) before executing the same.
I have seen multiple threads relating to very similar errors, but none of the fixes that were suggested have worked. I have double checked the required Red Hat packages and made sure they were all installed on the server. All of the prerequisite checks for the installer are successful. Any assistance would be of most helpful!

Worked with my Linux system admin and figured out that we were indeed missing some packages. There are 390 and 390x rpm's for Red Hat on System Z, i.e. 64 bit and 32 bit versions. Since we are running a 64 bit os some of those 32 bit packages did not get installed. Since our roles are split up, I am kind of blind as to the OS setup so I was not able to catch the problem. It is truly puzzling as to why Oracle would need 32 bit packages even though Oracle client is 64 bit. Regardless, after adding the 32 bit rpm's the installer was able to perform the linking operation that was failing, and the network configuration script ran successfully.

  • ORA-00054 error when loading Oracle table using Data Services

    Hello,
we are facing ORA-00054 error when loading Oracle table using BO Data services
    (Oracle 10g database, BODS Xi 3.2 SP3)
    Test Job performs
    1- truncate table
2- load table (tested in standard and bulk load modes)
    Scenario when issue happens is:
    1- Run loading Job
2- Job end in error for any Oracle data base error
3- When re-running the same Job, Job fails with following error
ORA-00054: resource busy and acquire with NOWAIT specified
It seems after first failure, Oracle session for loading the table stays active and locks the table.
To be able to rerun the Job, we are forced need to kill Oracle session manually to be able to run the Job again.
Expected behaviour would be : on error rollback modifications made on table and BODS stops Oracle session in a clean way.
Can somebody tell me / or point me to any BODS best practice about Oracle error handling to prevent such case?
    Thanks in advance
    Paul-Marie

the ora-0054 can occure depending how the job failed before. If this occures you will need the DBA to release the lock on the table in question
    Or
AL_Engine.exe on The server it creates the Lock. Need to Kill Them. Or stop it..
This Problem Occurs when we select The Bulkloading Option in orclae  We also faced the same issue,Our admin has Killed the session. Then everything alright.

  • Error when using Oracle Migration WorkBench (Sql Server 2k to Oracle 8i)

I'm trying to migrate a Sql Server 2k database to an Oracle 8i schema using OMWB. After using BCP to collect metadata information on the source database, I tried to capture the source data model and got a "Capture aborted" message on the progress screen (even though then it appears a dialog window reporting "0 errors and 0 warnings", funny!). Down there is the error log OMWB generated. After reading some posts, I changed some columns of the OMWB dictionary that holds the source database name, but still got the same error. If someone can enlighten me on this toppic, I'd greatly appreciated it.

Error when linking report to stored procedure defined with one input parameter
The report will work ok, when the parameter is removed from the stpred procedure
An unhandled win32 exception occurred in crw32.exe[4480]
    Stored Proc (sql server 2005)
    USE [Allegro]

         valuationmode
    from valuation
    where valuationmode = @valuationmode;
    End;

This is an example of a stored procedure that is trying to be linked to a new report as the only datasource.
If I remove the parameter I can create a report, however this will return all of the results of thw query to the report, rather than the desired results. If I add the parameter on the Crystal Report, the stored procedure then has to return all of the results to Crystal and then perform the filtering of records. By using a parameter in the stored procedure, you should be able to do all of the filtering as part of the query on the databse server, making this more efficient.

  • Unsatisfied Link Error when using Oracle OCI (Type II) driver

Using Oracle OCI (Type II) driver on HPUX with Oracle 9.2.0.4.
If when creating a connection pool via the console, using the Oracle OCI (Type
II) driver, you get the error "Unsatisfied link error with library libocijdbc9.sl
or format error" then check that the library included in the SHLIB_PATH is pointing
at the $ORACLE_HOME/lib32 directory and not just the $ORACL_HOME/lib

We do not offer a JDBC driver for Linux in version 5.1. In version 6.0,we
do offer a type 4 driver for Linux.
In version 5.1, I suggest trying the platform independent type 4 JDBC driver
available for free from Oracle. It is supported (as is any JDBC driver)
with WebLogic Server. To download it:
Go to http://www.oracle.com and select the "Download" option.
From the resulting page, use the "Select Utility or Driver" dropdown to
    select Oracle JDBC drivers
From the resulting page, scroll down a little (since SQLJ stuff appears at
    the top).
    Or, to go directly there:
    http://technet.oracle.com/software/tech/java/sqlj_jdbc/software_index.htm

today, after a lot of trouble, I was able to install oracle 10.2.0.1 on redhat as 4 upd 2 x86_64.
This link helped me so much http://www.puschitz.com/InstallingOracle10g.shtml help.
I met a link error because of binutils version. After I installed binutils-2.15.92.0.2-15.0.0.0.2.x86_64.rpm (my version was binutils-2.15.92.0.2-15.0.0.0x86_64.rpm), I did retry and the install problem was solved.
Then during dbca I met another error (ORA-12547: TNS:lost contact) because of libaio. I had 32 bit version instead of 64 bit. After the package update dbca run successfully.
I'm facing the following problem during instance startup:
    "Thu Apr 19 17:40:17 2007
    Errors in file /oracle/admin/UAT/udump/uat_ora_2697.trc:
ORA-00604: error occurred at recursive SQL level 1
ORA-12663: Services required by client not available on the server
ORA-36961: Oracle OLAP is not available.
    ORA-06512: at "SYS.OLAPIHISTORYRETENTION", line 1
    ORA-06512: at line 15"
I told you those things about installation phase because maybe this error is related to the install (maybe something went wrong without I know it).
    Error in trace is:
    /oracle/admin/UAT/udump/uat_ora_2697.trc

The strange thing is that I haven't installed OLAP option. I installed enterprise edition + partioning.
Any help is much appreciated. Is my installation ok?
    Thanks in advance,
    Tarek

    Hi guido,
i have the same problem with OLAP, when i start an instance i have got error messages in alert_log, and a lot of objekts a invalid, i can not recompile the objekt, oracle will it automatic, and ends with this errors:

  • Error when Installing Oracle on Linux

    Hi Guys,
Hope u guys can help. Im installing oracle 8 on suse 9 to perform a system copy (this is a target system). but stuck in phase linking Oracle 8 :
Error in invoking target install of makefile ../../ins_sqlplus.mk
when i tried to install it manually :
make -f ins_sqlplus.mk install, it came out an error that says libclntsh.so: undefined reference to '__ctype_toupper'
Any one can help me with this?
    Thanks

    Hi,
if you already looked at the PAM - i wonder why asking for such an OS related problem.
    > So the only option I have is to update the OS and do the migration there. Is Oracle 9 backward compatible? i.e I copy the offline data (Oracle 8) to Oracle 9
If you just want to copy the oracle control-/datafiles, etc. - no it will not work. You have to do a normal oracle upgrade to get your Oracle 8i database running on Oracle 9i.
    Regards
    Stefan

  • Getting "HTTP 400 Bad Request" error when submitting form

I am using APEX 3.1.2. I have a form based on a table. The form contains check boxes, a multiple select item, some text items and some text boxes with HTML editors. It had been working properly but now is giving me the dreaded "The web page can not be found..." error page as soon as I click create when in create mode or the update or the delete button when editing a row of data. The URL in the address area of the browser is: "http://ndhoast.tsh.mis.mckesson.com:7778/pls/apex/wwv_flow.accept" and the tab says "HTTP 400 Bad Request".
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Do you have any extra Javascript components added in? We've been doing work with ExtJS and Oracle Apex, and I've noticed that on one particular page there is a bad request thrown when a doSubmit() is called. When the Javascript is commented out, the page works fine.

  • Linker errors when linking OCCI 10.1.0  statically on RH AS 3.0 platform

    Hello All,
I was trying to build an OCCI program on a Red Hat AS 3.0 Update 4 Platform, statically linking to OCCI libraries of Oracle 10.1.0 version. The g++ compiler version is 3.2.3.
The Makefile and the errors that got generated is mentioned below. However, I could able to build the program when linking through shared library version of OCCI. My requirement is to build the program statically.
I had been stuck up with this for almost a week and tried checking the previous postings in the forums/newsgroups, but not of much help. I added the following libraries :
    -lnbeq10 -lnhost10 -lnus10 -lnldap10 -lldapclnt10\
    -lnsslb10 -lntcp10 -lntcps10 -lnsslb10 -lntcp10 -lntns10
to the Makefile, based on somebody's posting in OCI/OCCI forum. If I didn't provide
-lpthread I get linker errors in pthread_xxx functions.
Any help/pointers on this would be really appreciated.

    Hi ,
Oh! Anyway, thanks for the information. However, the glibc version I use is glibc-2.3.2-95.30.
There is a bit of story behind the reason we tried to use static linking. Actually, the application around which we use to develop solutions supports only Oracle 9i. We were developing some components using the C++ SDK provided by application vendor and that components need some information from DB for processing. So, we needed to write a DB class to do that. Since, we found Oracle supports C++ DB interface(OCCI), we thought to use that.
We had to use RH AS 3.0 platform and the gcc compiler 3.2.x+ for compiling our component code. But Oracle 9i OCCI code doesn't get compiled with gcc/g++ 3.2.x+ compilers. So, we planned to use Oracle 10g OCCI libraries for building the DB class and link it to the custom component we had developed.
In the run-time environment, we had to install both Oracle 9i clients and Oracle 10g clients since the app requires Oracle 9i and the custom component requires Oracle 10g. We did some kind of tweaking (by providing symbolic links to Oracle 10g OCCI libraries from Oracle 9i client directory) so that both the app and the component gets started.
I know this is not a good idea. But we didn't want to spend much time on this at that time since we were doing a proof-of-concept. Later, we thought what could be done. We thought ,first we can try lthe custom component linked to static library version of OCCI. That's the reason we tried of static linking.
The other option is to use OCI interface. But this is a bit of work since we need to write lot of wrapper methods to handle intricacies with OCI and OCI code is cumbersome compared to OCCI.
Hope now you could have got the problem, I am talking about. Any other better ways?
    Thanks
    Karthik

  • 404 error when downloading Oracle SQL Developer 2.1 (2.1.0.63.73) for Mac

    Greetings,
I'm getting a 404 error when I try to download the Mac OS X version of Oracle SQL Developer. The download page is at
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/products/sql/index.html
And it links to the Mac version at:
    http://download.oracle.com/otn/java/sqldeveloper/sqldeveloper-2.1.0.63.73-macosx.tar.gz
    Which doesn't exist.
Is this the correct forum to report this problem?
    Thanks
    Mick

I don't know what to say: I went to this link
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/database/sql_developer/index.html
Clicked on Download in the upper right corner, re-accepted the whatever-they-wanted-me-to-accept and then the OSX download suddenly worked. Give it a spin and see if a circuit like that works for you.
    Good luck!

  • System.log fills up with bad packets errors (Multicast packet - CRC error)

    Hello,
I've been trying to Google my problem but found no answers; hopefully someone can help me?
Whenever I'm online, my System.logs fills up (every second, and sometimes, multiple times each second) with the following message :
19/12/07 12:51:01 PM kernel AppleYukon2 - bad packet received. length: 60, packet status bits: Multicast packet, CRC error
19/12/07 12:51:01 PM kernel AppleYukon2 - bad packet received. length: 60, packet status bits: Multicast packet, CRC error
My DSL modem is connect directly into my iMac. It's a Speedstream 5360). I never have any problems connecting to the Internet and the speed I get is fine. When I configured my Network settings, I only added my PPPoE Service name username and âssword - everything else was automatically added (Ethernet configuration).
Is there anything I should change in the Advanced Settings?
The System.log causes me problem because it often causes the application Console to crash when I try to view it.

I should add that this problem didn't exist when I was using Tiger.
Also, when I called Apple Tech Support, I was simply told "just don't play with the Console".
