BADI Filter value

hi friends,
i have few doubts in BADI plz explain me
1.i have implemented badi while saving its asking me specify filter value [what to specify here]i specified its default filter value
2.in coding in method i copied standard example code when i did syntax check its throwing me error type 'T_RANGE' is
unknown.in types i specified this variable its giving me 'Enter Type Fully'

Hi Soorya,
1. You have to enter the values for that filter Type just below where you check the filter-Depentend check box (Before that u have to enter value in Filter Type).
And this will add FLT_VAL importing parameter to ur methods when u call instance of them in calling program.
IF the FLT_VAL value matches (with the value that u entered earlier) then only this BADI will get triggered otherwise not.
2.The Syntax Check that u are making should be in Import parameter of the Method otherwise it will through the same error.

Hi Gurus,
In BADIs, we can set a filter value and trigger our respective implementations based on that filter values ( this is handled by the system itself ....... )
But, can we have MORE than ONE filter values DEFINED in our CUSTOM BADI DEFENITION ( 'Z' BADI ) ?
For example..... the corresponding implementation of a BADI would only be triggered for a 'combination' of filter values ( say a particular material number AND company code ..... )

In badis the main advantage is that reusability i.e we can defiene one tiem and we can implement it many times so if we whie defining we will give filter type so , we have to give filter type only once for a particular badi,
but implementaion can be done many times,

How to know if implementation with a filter value exist for a BAdI in code?

Hi all,
Scenario:
I created a BAdI. There will be a button on the UI to call its implementation(s); while if there is no implementation with specified filter value, this button needs to be hidden. Thus I need to know if the implementation exist before calling it.
Question:
In the ABAP code, how to get whether implementation with specified filter value exists for a BAdI?
If it's possible, please help provide code.

Problem solved:
data: r_badi type ref to YOUR_BADI,
          badi_impl_num type i.
get badi r_badi
    filters
      flt_name = fit_val.
badi_impl_num = cl_badi_query=>number_of_implementations( badi = r_badi ).
if badi_impl_num > 0.
    "there are badi implementation(s)
endif.

Hi,
BADI may be implemented depending on a specific filter value( example COUNTRY-SPECIFIC VERSIONS: distinct implementations of the BADI can be created for the COUNTRY).
a filter type must be entered when defining your enhancement ( a country or industry, for example).
all methods created in the enhancement's interface have filter value 'FLT_VAL' as their import parameter.
the method then selects the active implemetation based on the data provided in the filter value.
for seting the filter value, you must enable the option FILTER DEPEND and provide FILTER TYPE in the ATTRIBUTES of the BADI defination.
SE18 is the transaction code for creating BADI.
Filter dependence for BADI definitions means that each interface method automatically has an importing parameter FLT_VAL assigned ot it. This parameter must be filled with a filter value as current parameter when it is called.
A BADI definition should be marked as filter-dependent whenever the characteristic of the BADI implementation should match the characteristics of the filter type - that is, whenever the implementation of different filter values should be different or should only exist at all for certain filter values.
Typical filter types are line of industry or country.
The BADI is filter dependent. In the first tab of your BADI implementation (SE19), the lower half will contain filter details.
STEPS FOR SETTING UP A FILTER
just go to se18 and give ur BADI name..
then Select 'Attributes' Tab ,there u will find option Filter-Dependent in window named "type"..
check tht filter dependent checkbox and give ur data element/field in the Filter type field say u can give 'MOLGA' ..save and come back..
now go to se19 and implement this BADi and there u can give filter values for filed MOLGA..

How to Pass Filter value to Filter dependent BADI ?

I am having some doubt related to CRM Badi's there are two types of BADI's one is Muliple use badi and other in Filter dependent BADI.
    Incase of filter dependent BADI. when we are creating implentation for filter BADI how to pass this filter value to that new implentation.i.e. if we are going to see the importing parameters for Each method of that Filter Dependent BADI.   the 1st importing parameter for each method is FILTER VALUE for each method in Filter Dependent BADI.
      So my question is that how to map this filer value while creating new implentation for Filter Dependent BADI ?
     It will Automatically get this importing filter value or we have to do any coding for this ????
for this you can refer badi : CRM_ISA_BASKET_HEAD
this Badi defination is filter dependent.

          I am not getting it ??????
Because for every simple badi when we are going to creat the implenation it will work fine without any restrictions by getting all importing values automatically.
And incase of filter depednt Badi also its going in same way it will get its filter value automatically so both the cases are same for Filter dependent badi and simple badi.
Then what is the use of Filter value ????

BADI: HRHAP00_TMPL_RESTR (Filter Value Problem)

Hello Experts,
I need to restrict the list of appraisee's in the search help of Appraisee field of Appraisal form.
I have found the BADI which will do the needful for me & that is HRHAP00_TMPL_RESTR. I have created a new implementation also for the same & done all the needful to get desired results.
The problem which I am facing is that this BADI is Add On Dependent. I have given the filter for the implementation as PA . But internally when function module HRHAP_HEAD_APPRAISEE_GET_LIST is called, it has a parameter add_on_application which is always empty. So BADI implementation is not triggered due to filter value add_on_application. In other words, the implementation of this BADI is not called during run-time of form. If I manually pass the value of parameter in function module as PA, through debugger, then I am getting what I wanted.
Any help regarding the same would be really appreciable.

Yeah I do agree with you. But the problem, as I have mentioned above, is that even after doing all the needful this BADI implementation is not getting called. Everything is in place in respect to BADI implementation & I have checked it is working.
If in debugging mode the control would have gone to my BADI implementation then my problem would have solved but the issue in itself is that the control is not automatically passing to the BADI implementation & that too because of filter value only. I am sure about that.
I am using this BADI for PD submodule of HR in Appraisal Forms.

PMS: Creation of new filter values

Dear Reader,
I am working on a PMS implementation where one particular appraisal template has multiple appraisers. The only way I can attach and identify between multiple appraisers is by creating new filters in table T77HAP_FLT_SEL.
I plan to then use BADI implementations to help identify the persons for each filter value from OM relationships.
But am at a loss as to how to create new filter values in this table. Would anybody be in a position to advise?

Example scenario:
Every appraisee has three appraisers: MANAGER, BUSINESS AREA GENERAL MANAGER (BAGM) and DOTTED-LINE MANAGER (DLM). There is no unified logic in the existing OM structure to identify the BAGM other than to create a custom relationship between all child org units and the position of the BAGM.
I need to name all three participants as appraisers in the appraisal category - but the only way I can name multiple persons as appraiser is to provide a selection ID at the category level (the selection ID being the filter value picked up from table T77HAP_FLT_SEL). For this, I would need to create values for BAGM and DLM in T77HAP_FLT_SEL so that I can pick them up when configuring my category.

That was the first thing I had tried. However, there is no maintenance dialog for T77HAP_FLT_SEL in transaction SM30 - the error says no maintenance objects exist for this table/view.
From my research so far, it looks like the selection ID/filter value is picked up by BADI HRHAP00_SELECTION. But am not sure if the same BADI is used to populate new values in this table or not.

BBP_PGRP_ASSIGN_BADI Filter Value

Hi guys.

This is probably an easy question for you ABAP guys to answer, but here goes anyway.
The filter value for activating the method BBP_PO_PGRP_ASSIGN is SCBID_T_PO. This flt_val is an importing parameter, so where do I set this to activate this method? How do I find the code that come before this BAdI so that I know where to export the parameter from?

Found it myself - on the Attributes view of the BAdI itself I have to assign which filter values to use.

How to control filter values in WAD without effecting the layout of output

Hi,
Anyone help me in how to control the filter values in WAD. We have a navigational block and when user selects the filter for values the key and name of the characteristics and displaying in the navigational block and because of this the format of the output is looking awkward ie., getting horizontal and vertical scroll bars.
So the requirement is i have select the characteristics from the filter and i also need text and name of the characteristics to be dispalyed but this shouldn't effect the layout of the output.
So anyone please tell me the possible solution.

As you can see, the new idea is not quite satisfactory. It needs more thought. Still, these drafts should give you some ideas how to do it. Modify as needed.
Also your data is similar to a square wave and has these large step functions where the value changes dramatically. These should probably be ignored. Maybe you should look at the first derivative and replace parts where a large positive slope is immediately followed by a negative slope of similar size, for example.
You should also look at absolute steps instead of percentages. If you use percentages and the value is zero, everything is outside, because even 5000% of zero is still zero, right?

I have created an implementation for the EXEC_METHODCALL_PPF badi which is triggered from an action in a transaction.It is working fine in the development system but while transporting it to the quality system I am getting the following error.

Diagnosis
There are multiple active implementations of the same business add-in definition, even though this is not allowed.
System Response
This is not correct and should not occur.
Procedure
Deactivate the implementations active for this BAdI definition one by one until there is only one active implementation left.
You should use transaction SE18 (Utilities -> Adjustment -> Multiple-use interfaces) to solve these conflicts systematically.
But I am apprehensive if deactivating all the standard implemenatations of the badi will create any problem.Please can any one suggest as to how to resolve this issue....

Please check the following suggestions
a) go to se18 -> enter your definition name and see if "Multiple" call check box is ticked in Quality
b)compare your transports since some objects in development may not have found it's way to the quality server
c)Please see if for the same definition,for different filter values...implementations are done...if so,is multiple checkbox marked? in quality also?if you have multiple implementations with the check box not marked..the message conveys u cannot have multiple implementations of the same badi....
d)also check if the filter being passed to the BADI is ok

steps i followed:
1. in define copying control for transaction type I define src CXOP tagt ACCP(activity partner) copying routine as 9oppt.
2. in BADI implementation filter is 9oppt.
now putting a break point in method ORDERADM_H and checking in GUI from oppt to act. partner
even then badi impl. not called.
what may be wrong in this approach?

Restrict filter values that are shown in the selection screen

Hi Experts
1) Is it possible to restrict the filter values that are shown in the selection screen in BEx web? When a user are asked to enter a material number and uses the selection button in BEx web, he should only see material numbers for one specific plant. How is this done?
2) Is it possible to remove the selection button for å characteristic filter in the selection screen in BEx web? The selection button I am talking about is the button to the right of where you enter the filter value (two white papers on top of each other). If there is no solution for question 1 we have to go for question 2 solution.
We are using BI 04s, SP 09.

Hi Erik,
It seems that you would like the user to see value for 1 single plant. If the Plant Value is fixed then you can use this value in the Query and hardcode it.> in the query go to the Plant Chrac and keep a constant value of the Plant.
How ever if you need this value to be dynamic then use a variable for customer exit and populate this value using ABAP.

Filter values are not displayed in the Popup Screen

Hi Gurus,
I have executed the query from the Query Designer using Execute to the browser and tried to filter the values for 0plant
Then i am getting the values as question mark '?????' for Key as well as Text.
Note: I am not getting the key values for any of the characteristics.... in any report...
Is there any setting need to done in BI or Portal side...
Please help me if any one got a similar issue....

The values in the BW are ok & i have activated the master data too..
I am getting all the filter values for the query in RSRT, but when i execute the same query to the browser i am getting the values as '????' in the filter...
Eg.
Plant Key Plant medium Text.....
but when i select a particular row and add the values i can see the data as below.
1901 Bhubaneswar Depot

Changing Filter Values from Macro in BW 7.0

in my Workbook I need to change Filter Values of some queries in runtime.
The first thing I found was BEx API reference for BW 3.5, but I wasn't able to make these functions work. After all I found this code:

I also tried to separate different filter values with comma, but this did not help.
Also I will be glad if someone could give me a link on documentation about BEx objects in Excel.

PerformancePoint in SharePoint 2010 - Unable to get filter values from... Error 10828

I currently am using PPT to expose data from a Microsoft Analysis Server cube. The cube is wide open and requires no permissions to access.
The behavior of my filters is odd as sometimes they work perfectly fine, and other times I receive the following error upon report run:
Unable to get filter values.
An unexpected error occurred. Error 10828. Additional details have been logged for your administrator.
I have looked at the ULS logs and found the following:
An unexpected error occurred. Error 10828. Exception details: System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.

This is odd to me, as I can trick the report to run by changing the date filters to another day, then back to the original days that error'ed out and everything is fine. Some guidance would be appreciated.

Do you mean that you have Office 2007 and Office 2010 both installed in you computer?
Based on my test, I copy a Access 2010 database into a computer only installed Offic 2007, then using Excel 2007 to import Access database data, no error occurred.
So double click the Access database to see whether the databased is opened with Access 2007 or Access 2010. If it is opened with Access 2010, then try to save it as Access 2007 to
check the issue.
