Balance Sheet postings

Hi Experts,
I am trying to post a calulations to the balance sheet via script logic.
The first part of the logic is working fine and produces the desired result however the second part of the logic (lookup) do not produce a value
// THIS LOGIC WILL CALCULATE THE ADVANCE TICKET SALES INPUT
*XDIM_MEMBERSET TIME = 2014.12
*XDIM_MEMBERSET CATEGORY=Budget
*XDIM_MEMBERSET ACCOUNT=AC_2016100
*FOR %M%=%TIME_SET%
*WHEN CATEGORY
*IS *
*REC(EXPRESSION=([ACCOUNT].[AC_2016100]/[ACCOUNT].[AC_60501]*365), TIME=TMVL(1,%M%), ACCOUNT=AC_2016100_INP)
*ENDWHEN
*NEXT
*COMMIT
//==================================================================================================
*LOOKUP FINANCE
*DIM INP:ACCOUNT=AC_2016100_INP
*DIM TIME =2015.01
*DIM CATEGORY = Budget
*ENDLOOKUP
*XDIM_MEMBERSET TIME = 2015.01
*XDIM_MEMBERSET CATEGORY=Budget
*XDIM_MEMBERSET ACCOUNT=AC_2016100
*WHEN CATEGORY
*IS *
*REC(EXPRESSION=([ACCOUNT].[AC_60501]*LOOKUP(INP)/365), ACCOUNT=AC_2016100)
*ENDWHEN
The second part should post the balance into the following time period, which it is not doing at present and is there a away that this could be done dynamically i.e. for all future time periods
Thanks in advance

Ups,
"AC_60501 is total sales" - it's a critical info and have to be provided from the very beginning
For sure parent members can't be looped in WHEN/ENDWHEN!
Then you can use other code:
*XDIM_MEMBERSET TIME = 2015.01
*XDIM_MEMBERSET CATEGORY=Budget
*XDIM_MEMBERSET ACCOUNT=AC_2016100_INP //Base!
*WHEN CATEGORY
*IS *
*REC(EXPRESSION=%VALUE%*[ACCOUNT].[AC_60501]/365, ACCOUNT=AC_2016100)
*ENDWHEN
Parent members can be used in expression formula...

  • 2 documents with different postings (Balance sheet adjsutment in OB09)

    Hello All,
I have a problem after running the payment run F110.
Payment was run successfully for vendor 10. Since the postings had different currency, it used account determination for OB09, valuation lost and balance sheet adjsutment is visible in the clearing document.
Payment was also run successfully for vendor 11, however clearing document only reflects account for valuation lost and not included balance sheet adjustment.
The two documents underwent same transaction and posting, the only difference is the amount and the posting date.
Kindly help me to figure out why account balance sheet adjustment is not visible in clearing document for vendor 11.
    Thanks.

In TCOde FAGL_FC_VAL, period end foreign revaluations are carried out for customers and vendors.
At that time, foreign exchange gain or loss journal entry is affected  to unrealised gain or loss account.
The second line item of foriegn exchange revaluation journal entry is affected to "balancesheet adj 1"
    Example:
If gain arises in customer revaluation, entry passed will be:
    balancesheet adj 1... Dr

  • Error: Change to balance sheet control in spite of postings. Plz..... Help

    Hi Gurus
When I change a GL account from P&L to BS account, I am getting following error.
"Change to balance sheet control in spite of postings
The data contains error, you cannot save."
There were some postings in this accounts.  Today I reversed all the docs, so the account balances are now zero.  However, the system still won't allow me to change the account from a P&L to a BS account.
    Plz help.
    Thanks

If the G/L account was already posted in the previous year, execute the balance carryforward again for the current fiscal year. (program SAPF011).

  • Balance sheet account postings to Internal order

    Hi All,
I have a situation in which I have to make a prepaid expense from a BS account but want to assign it to an internal order so that when this expense actually occur, I can use this internal order report for all the prepayment made against that expense. I can create a cost element for this BS account but this is not a good practice. Do you guys have any other idea that I can implement here which is good practice and also solve the problem.
    Thanks
    MKR

    Hi
SAP Best practises is not to assign Internal Order to a Balance Sheet GL Account.
In the Standard SAP, you might get an error if you assign an order to a Balance sheet account, but you have an option to change the error message from error to warning.
You might have to change the field status group assign to the balance sheet gl account to make the Order as Optional Entry.

  • Intra Company Postings not shown on Balance Sheet Report S_ALR_87012284

    Team,
FI is unable to recognize the intra company cost flows in balance sheet when it is executed for the entire company codes (Example in CPS 1000-2400).
The Cost allocations are not broken down; all our secondary cost elements are mapped to a primary cost element.
The Cost flows are seen when the balance sheet report is executed for one company code.
Please let me know if there is a way to resolve this issue.
    Appreciate your help ahead.

  • Switch off the automatic update of profit centers on the Balance Sheet acco

    Dear all,
In CO I am using only CCA and PCA. But I don't want to have the profit center updated on the balance sheet items.
For example I have it activated for all the automatical BS postings from MM
I need it only for the PL accounts.
How can I switch off the automatic updates of profit centers on the Balance Sheet Account?
Is it enough to deactivate the PCA on the Controlling Area?
    Thanks in advance.

  • When is 'Clearing Balance Sheet' and 'Clearing Inc Stmt item' used?

    Hi,
In what circumstances, clearing balance sheet item and clearing inc stmt items are used. Commonly, it's used for balance carry forward task, where system recognized the net profit for the year (in PL) and current ytd profit (in BS).
i was trying to post the following entry via manual posting and system generated additional 2 lines:
    DR Sales 100
    CR AR 100
DR Clearing BS item 100 < System auto generated additional one line
CR Clearing PL item 100 < System auto generated additional one line
(The above entry is enter at posting level 01)
I was trying to post another  2 balance sheet items via manual posting at posting level 30. There was no additional 2 lines created.
    Please advise.
    Regards, Renee

    Rene,
In real life there are usually closing periods in enterprises, when accountant close their books. Closing partially means that all revenues/gains and expenses/costs are summed up, and net profit in income statement calculated. During this procedure accountants usually make closing entries. After that this calculated net profit is to be transferred to balance sheet, to the retained earnings of the current year item.
In SAP SEM-BCS there are no closing entries. Instead, the system monitors whether entries in P&L were made. The P&L hierarchy in BCS has the following structure:
    - one main node under which all revenues and expenses are gathered
    - clearing item located OUTSIDE the P&L main node (equals to net profit).
The amount on the clearing item equals the sum of all P&L items under main node, with the opposite sign. So, the sum of P&L items & clearing item is zero.
If the system detects postings to the items located under P&L main node, it recalculates the net profit and adjust the clearing item in P&L accordingly. Since net profit in P&L should correspond to the RE in B/S, the system adjust clearing item in B/S also. So, AT ANY MOMENT the B/S & P&L in the system correspond each other. The work of special/clearing items is like pseudoclosing.
That's the purpose of these clearing items. And as I said earlier  they has nothing to do with balance carryforward.
Resume: in case of postings to P&L, the net profit changes and the system adjusts net profit in P&L & B/S (adds two additional entries).
There is NO NET PROFIT CHANGE (and additional entries) when postings made in the balance sheet ONLY (as in your case). -- (As you know, there is almost no possibility to make postings to clearing item in B/S).

  • Message no FH017 Open item management only allowed for balance sheet accounts

    Dear All,
i try to change one Balance Sheet account to P&L Account. However i failed changing the account.
it pops up the error Message no FH017.
For this error, i have already untick the Open Item Management
Can anyone help me on this? Very appreciated on this!
    Cheers

Aslo see help on open Item managed field by pressing f1
    Indicator: Open Item Management?
Determines that open items are managed for this account.
    Use
Items posted to accounts managed on an open item basis are marked as open or cleared. The balance of these accounts is always equal to the balance of the open items.
    Procedure
Set up accounts with open item management if offsetting entries are to be assigned to the postings made to these accounts. Postings to these accounts represent incomplete transactions.
    Example:
A goods receipt/invoice receipt (GR/IR) clearing account should be managed on an open item basis so that you can check at any time whether invoices have been received for the goods received for an order.
Set up accounts without open item management if no offsetting entry is to be made against a posting to this account.
    Examples
Accounts that are managed on an open item basis include:
    Clearing accounts:
    Bank clearing account
    Payroll clearing account
    Cash discount clearing account
    GR/IR clearing account
Accounts that are not managed on an open item basis:
    Bank accounts
    Tax accounts
    Raw material accounts
Reconciliation accountsThese are managed implicitly using the subledger open item function.Profit and loss accounts
Materials Management (MM) accounts posted with a posting key that has account type 'M'

  • Balance Sheet as of a Given Date

    Dear All
Is it possible to generate a balance sheet as of a given date - e.g - 15 th March 2009?????
Can  we get an accurate report ?????
    Thank you
    Gayani

    HI,
yes, you can only report (no matter which reporting tool)  the balance sheet figures that are posted.
So a balance sheet for a given date will only reflect the figures posted.
But there are some postings that normally happen on a monthly/yearly base (the so called  "month-end closing" or "fiscal-year-end closing" process in accounting/controlling) and thats missing if the given date is not the period / year-end date.
By the way: the requirement sounds strange...
    best regards, Christian

  • Difference of balance in balance sheet report & Business area wise report

    Dear Group Members!!
In my company user wants to generate Business are wise Report
Difference of balance in balance sheet report & Business area wise report from same t code
Balances are different if enter business area, & if I execute the report with out entering any business area. Transaction code S_ALR_87012284 - Balance Sheet / Profit and Loss Statement.
The difference amount to be considered as data entry made with out using business area?
    How do  I rectify this?
Your comment will be helpful for me
    Shamulheq

    Hi Shamulheq
While working with business area you must first recognize that they are not company code dependent and can be used cross-company. Also depending  on the SAP release you are working with postings to Business Area may not 100% guarantee, since there are cases where rules or standard SAP is not available and line items posted  will be carried out without BA. For SAP releases not using the NEW GL, the setting up of adjustments accounts and monthly execution of adjustment programs would provide the vehicle to relate and adjust any missing BA at B/S and P/L level. If you are using NEW GL the document splitting would help to set the rules where every single line item would get a business area.
I assume that you are using the classic GL. The execution of T code S_ALR_87012284 - Balance Sheet / Profit and Loss Statement without business area retrieves all posting entered for any given company code regardless the account was posted with or without business area, this can be clearly displayed when you select the radio button for Classic Navigation. If you filter by Business Area, then the report will isolate the output data accordingly (The balances should be smaller). When using the classic GL you have to make sure that the financial statement version you use to execute the report,  includes that the technical (Adjustment accout) account(s) that is used for the adjustment programs, so the correction to buisness areas is also included.
In conlcusion I think you have to make all this considerations, in order to better understand where the differences come from.
    Hope this helps.

  • Foreign Currency valuation- balance sheet preparation valuation

    Hi,
I have a doubt in foreign currency valuation.
When we tick Balance sheet preparation valuation ( in t-code F.05), no reverse postings are generating, eventhough i tick reverse postings. why is this happening?.
What is happening when we use Balance sheet preparation valuation in Foreign currency valuation?
    Thanks,
    Vinay

    Vinay,
Yes as explained earlier it converts balance sheet from one( Local) currency to Another (foreign) currency on a particular date.
For example if your balance sheet currency is EUR and your foreign currency is USD. It will convert EUR into USD on that particular date on all open items and post it to
the expense and revenue accounts for exchange rate differences from valuations. For payable and receivables accounts you must also define the financial statements adjustment accounts.
This is what it happens check your own thread

  • Balance sheet adjustment balance becomes double

    Dear Experts
My finance users execute Balance sheet adjustments monthly through the years upto current month. Somehow, now they discover that there were some postings made to period 13 two years ago which have not been reversed when they reversed the run.  We simulated the same scenario in development as below:
    1) BS adj Run 194     Period13 posted 20.4.2012
    2) Reverse run via F.5G but docs posted under run194 was not reversed
    3) BS adj Run 195      Period 13 posted 20.4.2012 ==> resulting in double posting
    4) Tried to reverse run 194 docus psoted using tcode=FB08 for 31.3.2012 period 13
these journals already zeroise all BS adjust balances under GL 980401
    5) BS adj Run 026 - it generates another BS entries under 980401
in the case below for BusA=5361, we have already adjusted all balances via doc =2503722
but the next BS adju run generates another 1155.00 again.

    Hi Dominic,
Thanks for your prompt reply. When analysing the specific baance sheet adjustment account i realised that there have been reversal entries on the 1st day of every month.  This should confirm that the reversal postings have happened.
In addition to these entries, when certain customer open items are cleared this account gets hit. The addition of all these hits are equal to the final total of the balance sheet adjustment account. (which should be usually zero). I also realised that these hits during customer open item clearing are documents from yrs 2008 and 2007. Could this have an impact in hitting the balance sheet adjustment account?
Looking forward to hear from you!
    Thanks in Advance,

    This does not sound correct.
If the timestamps on both BI servers are the same and you have initialised them both, then the delta on both would always be the same as the source is the same one. I would suggest that there is either :
    1. The Delta's on the BI servers are not the same.
    2. There may be a filter on one of them.
    3. There are batch jobs or postings happening in ECC which is causing the additional data.

    Dear Gurus,
Is it required to run the Balance Sheet Items Transferred Periodically (PCA) as a period end activity in controlling even if New GL activated?
    thanks in advance.
    thanks & regards,
    GJ.

Thank you for your valuable reply...
Our system is activate New GL and ticked real time integration also. but Profit Center is not maintained as manditory filed in the Document splitting config.
I have some basic clarification on Profit center accounting...
    1. How do we reconsil the FI GL postings with PC report?
    2. All posted values will flow to PC level like vendor /asset/purchse/Inventory postings? example for posting vendor invoice, system is showing the profit center which we maintained Default profit center (Assign Default Profit Center to Accounts).
kindly guide me on conceptually data flow to Profit center.
    Thanks in Advance.
