Barcode EAN 13 in Crystal Report

Hi
I need to print out a Barcode EAN 13 from Crystal Report. In Crystal Report there is a functionality called "Change to barcode" but in there I do not have barcode EAN 13. Can anybody help me with how to get this functionality in Crystal.  I problably need some kind of plug-in, but where do I get this?
I appreciate any help
Kind regards
Niels Hermansen

Thank you for your answer.
However I have already managed to make barcodes in CR, or at least I know how to make a Barcode 39 that works fine. At some point I found a CR plug-in for barcode 39, but I am not able to find a similar plug-in for EAN 13, and I have not managed to find a way to get the EAN 13 barcode right from CR so a scanner can read it. So I am looking for a solution for making this specific barcode type in CR and not barcodes in general.
Kind regards
Niels

  • Gs1 ean128 barcode from crystal report 2011

    Hello
    I am trying to produce a gs1 ean128 barcode from crystal report 2011 using 'Change to barcode' and choosing 'Code128 UCC/EAN-128'
    If the barcode is made up of 2 different pieces of information, and the first one has a variable length ( for instance (20)25620(400)125411258 ) I have to put a separator character ( FNC1 ) before the second application identfiers, but I don't find any documentation about what character is to be used.
    Moreover, it seems that the only available choice for GS1
    ('Code128 UCC/EAN-128') supply a CodeSet C barcode, and this can be used with even length strings only. If my string may have a odd length I have to use A or B Code , but I don't find other available function

    hi Marco, if you're using azalea barcode fonts,  azalea has custom functions which can be used in conjunction with the fonts. you would put your data into a formula which uses the custom function and base the "change to barcode" on that formula. the link above will take you to their custom functions and downloads for various fonts. if you're using another provide, please consult their faq.

  • Crystal Report Viewer (SmartViewerActiveX/ActiveXViewer) barcode problem

    I am using the crystal reports viewer to show my reports in my asp website.
    In the reports, I have a barcode using the font source IDAutomationHC39M.ttf.
    This code must be a certain size that I indicated in my report design.
    The problem is that the viewer appears in the browser with the barcode expanded to full size, and not with the size that I indicated in report design.
    If I print from the program Crystal Reports, it appears according to the size indicated.

  • Mail barcode support in Crystal Reports 2008 - does it really exist?

    We are looking to add mail bar codes to our existing reports.  The cover letter of the report includes a mailing label and we would like to add a mail bar code underneath it.  I called 888-229-2276 yesterday and explained what I wanted to do.  I was instructed to download a trial version from the website and take a look at the help as this feature was added in Crystal Reports 2008.  The help didn't explain much more than right click the fieled you want to bar code and select the Bar Code option listed.  What this created was a regular bar code that looks like a UPC you would find in the grocery store.  I tried both Azalea fonts, but got the same result.
    How does one create an Intelligent Mail barcode or PostNet barcode?

    Having dealt with both PostNet and Intelligent Mail Barcodes (IMB), using CR XI R1, here are a couple of things that might shed some light:
    1.  PostNet and IMB are vastly different, so you choose which one you want to generate.  PostNet requires some calculation based on the zipcode and/or zip+5 whereas IMB requires specific information such as Mailer ID etc assigned to your company by USPS.
    2.  You can download a PostNet font, which can be found on the web as shareware etc.  IMB font can be downloaded from USPS for free.  For more info on IMB check out [https://ribbs.usps.gov/index.cfm?page=intellmailmailpieces]
    3.  IMB is very specific to your company and as such requires a thorough understanding of the type of mail you will be sending and if it is bulk or BRM etc etc.  It would be better to consult with the USPS customer rep for your company to determine if IMB is appropriate for you.
    4.  PostNet is a breeze compared to IMB.  All you need do is determine if the barcode will be based on zip or zip+5 and delivery point codes which determines if the barcode will contain 32, 52 or 62 bars.  You then download the font from the web and off you go.  Information on how to calculate/generate PostNet barcodes is all over the internet, the key is downloading the font.
    I bet it is all clear as mud but feel free to post if you have more questions.

  • Barcode not displaying/printing in Crystal Report java viewer

    We have written a Crystal report (in Developer XI release 2 with service pack 4 installed) which produces barcode labels.  The barcodes are Code 39 barcodes and are generated by printing the string \*data_field\* in a Code 39 barcode font.  The asterisk is the character used for the Code 39 start/stop sequence in the barcode font.
    In Developer everything works fine and prints out and scans correctly. When we make the report available to our end users in the Crystal Reports java viewer all we get where the barcode should appear is white space on screen or when we print.  (The rest of the report behaves correctly).
    We have tried a few things and have found that if both asterisks or the starting or ending asterisk is left in a different font (i.e. not the barcode font) then the rest of the string displays and prints in the barcode font.  (unfortunately without bot asterisks you don't get a scanable barcode).
    Has anyone got any suggestions on how to fix this?
    (In case it might be relevant the barcode font we are using is this one: http://www.barcodesinc.com/free-barcode-font/)
    Thanks
    Trevor

    Hello Ludek,
                    I have found that the issue is caused by the bold attributes of my field.
                    You can try the following and you should encounter the same issue:
                                    - Create a Report
                                    - Create a formula with many characters
                                    - Put you field in Times New Roman bold 8.
                    The following Font Size in  Times New Roman are in issue: 5 u2013 8 u2013 11- 14
                    The following Font Size in  Arial are in issue: 8 u2013 11 u2013 12 u2013 14
    Thank you.

  • Crystal Reports 2008 Barcode font not exported to any format

    Hi,
    I am creating a report that will use IDAutomationC128XXL barcode font (GS1 standard). I have downloaded and installed this font in my machine. I use the Visual Basic UFLs (IDAutomationFontEncoderUCC128()) to convert my content to barcode. I also have changed the field's font to IDAutomationC128XXL (by right click and field formatting). After this, i am able to see the barcode created in the my report preview. However when i try to export my report to PDF or any other format, the barcode is not coming up. It comes empty when i export to PDF.
    Am i missing any step to print barcodes in PDF during export from crystal report?

    Hi Sankara,
    Licensed fonts are Not exported to PDF.
    You should get in touch with IDAutomation's support and ask what are the alternatives.

  • Crystal Reports 8.5 and Barcode field on Postscript printer

    Hi, I have a Crystal 8.5 document with a barcode Code128 inside (Azale font). If I print the document on a PLC printer using Azalea Truetype font the Barcode are printed. If I print the document on a PostScript printer the barcode are not printed. If I change font with PostScript version and I print on a PostScript printer the barcode are not printed to.
    If I print the same document with Crystal 2008 the barcode are printed in both case.
    There are some problems in Crystal 8.5 for Postscript print ?
    thanks Filippo

    Could be, all I can suggest is you go to the download page and install all patches available for CR 8.5. Click on the Businessobjects tab above and the Crystal Reports and then the link to get downloads.
    IF that doesn't resolve the issue you may want to get the latest print drivers for your printer. If that still doesn't fix the problem then you have no option but to upgrade and try again. Cr 8.5 is 10 years old, no new updates available now.
    Thank you

  • Crystal Reports 2013 - Code 39 Barcode

    I was hoping someone might be able to help me getting the Code 39 function working to convert data to a barcode in Crystal Reports 2013.
    Seems to be the work around from a UFL 'u25azalea.dll' error I was receiving.
    I’m following the directions found here: http://www.azalea.com/crystal-reports-custom-functions/code-39/
    I created a new function named “Barcode” with the func_Code-39_Full code:
    Function (StringVar input)
    Local StringVar temp;
    Local StringVar chunk;
    Local NumberVar i;
    For i := 1 To Length(input) Do
    chunk := input[i];
    Select Asc (chunk)
    Case 0:
    temp := temp + "%U"
    Case 1 To 26:
    temp := temp + "$" + Chr(Asc(chunk) + 64)
    Case 27 To 31:
    temp := temp + "%" + Chr(Asc(chunk) + 38)
    Case 32:
    temp := temp + "_"
    Case 33 To 44:
    temp := temp + "/" + Chr(Asc(chunk) + 32)
    Case 45 To 46:
    temp := temp + chunk
    Case 47:
    temp := temp + "/O"
    Case 48 To 57:
    temp := temp + chunk
    Case 58:
    temp := temp + "/Z"
    Case 59 To 63:
    temp := temp + "%" + Chr(Asc(chunk) + 11)
    Case 64:
    temp := temp + "%V"
    Case 65 To 90:
    temp := temp + chunk
    Case 91 To 95:
    temp := temp + "%" + Chr(Asc(chunk) - 16)
    Case 96:
    temp := temp + "%W"
    Case 97 To 122:
    temp := temp + "+" + Chr(Asc(chunk) - 32)
    Case 123 To 126:
    temp := temp + "%" + Chr(Asc(chunk) - 43)
    Case 127:
    temp := temp + "%T";
    "*" + temp + "*"
    Then I created a new Formula named “TripNumBarcode” and dragged the Functions\CustomFunctions\Barcode (input) function into the Formula Editor window which looked like:
    Barcode ()
    I then dragged another Formula I use to calculate the trip number into this function:
    Barcode ({@TripNumber})
    But I’m getting an error of
    A string is required here.
    Any advice?

    See this KBA:
    1546515 - Error: UFL 'u25azalea.dll' that implements this function is missing
    The KBA contains a solution of sorts. The ADAPT the KAB refers to is still set for SP 9 which should be out end of March +.

  • Windows 7 64-bits Crystal report and Azalea (barcode)

    Hello,
    We use Crystal Report XI and Azalea (barcode) to print barcode from our Windows application for many years.
    Now we want to use Windows 7 64-bits. The barcode printing desn't work. Azalea answers they don't have any 64 bits library.
    What is the Crystal Report solution for printing barcode with Windows 7 64-bits ?
    Best regards.

    If Azalea doesn't have a 64 bit library your only option is to stay 32 bit.
    Crystal Reports is a 32 bit application so 64 bit is not an issue. Everything must be in 32 bit version to work with CR. And the only versions of CR supported on Windows 7 is CR XI R2 with Service Pack 6 and CR 2008 with Service Pack 2. No other versions will be test nor supported on Windows 7, best effort only.
    Thank you

  • CRYSTAL REPORTS AND BARCODES BY AZALEA SOFTWARE

    I've created a report that run a barcode by Azalea Software. I use the function that comes with Crystal Report 2008.
    When I preview the report in the CR Designer, my field gets translated correctly with the barcode. But when I run the report through my C# application, my field doesn't get translated. I have the *.dll included and the fonts installed in my system, but when i have it running on my application, it won't translate the barcode.
    Any suggestions will greatly appreciated. Thanks.

    https://smpdl.sap-ag.de/~sapidp/012002523100007123572010E/cr2008_sp3.exe
    Next, confirm that this is not working on your development computer?
    Is this a web or a win app? If web, does the process have permissions to the folder where the Azalea fonts exist? Using a utility such as [Process Monitor|http://technet.microsoft.com/en-ca/sysinternals/bb896645.aspx] may reveal permission issues.

  • Barcode printing - Crystal Reports 8.5

    I'm using Crystal Report 8.5 with VB6.  I'd like to print a barcode on a distributable report.  I have accomplished this by downloading a font, but I don't want to have to install this on any and all users' workstations.  Is there a way a barcode can be printed without having to install something on each users' PC?
    Thanks.

    FYI - the font also needs to be installed on the PC opening the PDF.  That was something we tried out of curiosity.  The one weird thing is that once we copied the font into the \Adobe\Resources\Font directory, the PDF showed the barcode.  We then removed the font, rebooted the PC, and when we opened the PDF, the barcode still showed.
    We opened the PDF with Acrobat reader, so there was no save done.

  • Crystal Report Server xi and Crystal report 2008 Barcode

    Hi, I have a crystal report server running (version xi) and have designed some reports using crystal report 2008.
    My problem is that I have used barcodes in the new reports and the server throws up an error about the barcode dll.
    Error message is
    Unable to retrieve Object.
    Error in File Report: Error in formula . 'BarcodeC39ASCII( ToText(CurrentFieldValue) )' UFL 'u2lbcode.dll' that implements this function is missing.
    Can I copy this dll to the server so that it runs ?
    Also, is there a crystal report server 2008, I dont see an install option on my CD?
    Is my only option to purchase Crserver 2008 ?

    Hi Philip,
    If you check in Crystal Reports designer when you created your formula,  you will notice in the 'Function Tree' of the Formula editor the DLL that responsible for 'Barcode39ASCII'.  The DLL is u25azalea.dll.
    Since this DLL was only shipped for CR2008 and not Crystal Reports XI there may be other dependencies.  As far as the location where it should be placed for CRS-XI,  it would most likely need to reside in:
    \Program Files\Business Objects\common\3.x\bin

  • Crystal Report Print report on different paper size (A4/Letter)

    I develop the crystal report 2008 with VS.net 2008. The report runs on web.
    when I preview or debug with VS on my local computer, the crystal report using A4 (8.3 * 11.7 in), Which is correct.
    However, after I deploy the program to the server, and try view and print report through IE, the print out is actually using Letter size (8.5 * 11 in).
    Both on my local computer and the server, the default printer is set to A4 size. And on the crystal report, in the printer setup, the paper size is A4 as well.
    I try on firefox, and safari. No luck. Same as IE.
    The crystal report need to print barcode, and the paper size must be A4, cuz the barcode page is designed and printed on A4 Avery Laser Barcode sheet.
    I tried on my PC by using remote server data souce, the printing works perfectly in A4 size (8.3"*11.7").
    And I don't know why same program after deploy to the server, then it using Letter size (8.5" * 11"), which the size I never set to.
    So strange.

    1) Make sure you are using FP 3.3 runtime:
    https://smpdl.sap-ag.de/~sapidp/012002523100016807202010E/cr2008fp33_redist.zip

    3) What print mode are you using; PDF or ActiveX?
    4) Try export to RPT and PDF from your web app. Does it export correctly?

    Hi Ludek
    Thank you for your response. I have installed SP3 and ProcMon and still the same result.
    I applied a filter on ProcMon to filter out items where the path contains 'export'.
    There are a few items where the result is 'NAME NOT FOUND' but I don't think it necessarly had anything to do with the barcode. These include items such as 'EXPORT\MailDestType','EXPORT\DisableExportLiveOfficeSupport'','EXPORT\ExportDirectory' to name a few.
    What drew my attention was the ACCESS DENIED result on specifically the EXPORT\PDF folders. The detail for these are  Desired Access : All access, however the very same entry appears a little futher on as a SUCCESS but this is detailed as Desired Access: Query Value.
    So in summary it looks something like this:
    User : Server\XXX
    Operation : RegOpenKey
    Path : HKU\.DEFAULT\Software\Business Objects\Suite 12.0\Crystal Reports\Export\Pdf
    Result : ACCESS DENIED
    Desired Access : All Access
    User : Server\XXX
    Operation : RegOpenKey
    Path : HKU\.DEFAULT\Software\Business Objects\Suite 12.0\Crystal Reports\Export\Pdf
    Result : SUCCESS
    Desired Access : Query Value
    There are a few other entries that follow this pattern that exists in other locations such as HKLM\Software...
    Could this 'ACCESS DENIED' be the problem? and If so how do I, and should I give user XXX this ALL Access its looking for.
    Regards
