  • Barcode implementation at delivery level:

Could you please share with me your experience of implementing / integrating Barcode with SAP.
    Hi All,
Our client is planning to implement Barcode(developed in Dotnet) for a specific plant while doing delivery.
On the basis of available quantity, picking, packing and post goods issue is done.
Barcode would step-in at this point. The Barcode developer wants the data in a flat file which has the following details:
    Delivery Document Number
    Item (material number)
    Quantity
    Plant
    Storage Location
Flat file format would be something like this:
    1004616846|000000000020000118||1000.000|40* (* asterisk as a delimiter)
    1004616846 = Delivery doc #
    000000000020000118 = Material number, etc.,
    Thanks.

Please let me know if I'm missing something
    Hi Mario,
Thank you very much for your input.
The client is planning to implement Barcode at the delivery document (despatch) level, only for a specific plant.
The objective of the implementation is improve upon the accuracy levels of what is to be despatched and what is actually despatched.
They want to keep track of the following:
    1. Delivery document number
    2. Total number of line items
    3. the quantity of each line items.
    4. Packaging: Type of box (wooden, etc.,)
    5. Total number of boxes (if line items are 20 and packaged in 4 types of packing boxes each containing 5 items, then total boxes will be 4 boxes)
    5. Scanned by (support personnel who scans the items using hand-held device etc.,)

  • Re: Barcode implementation for SAP ITS

    Hi !
Can any one suggest me how to implement Barcode for SAP ITS

This is a pretty complicated question, but I would start by reading the SAP documentation at the site below:
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/d9/4a94c851ea11d189570000e829fbbd/content.htm
Or you can google a statement like "Implement Barcode for SAP ITS" and it will bring back a ton of information.

  • Form Filling Consuming time after Dynamic Barcode Implementation

    Hi,
I am using Paper Forms Barcode to implement dynamic barcoding feature for my LiveCycle developed pdf. I have a requirement of tagging more than 40 data fields to my dynamic barcode. I am applying Reader Extensions for dynamic barcode to work fine. After applying all this, the form responds very slowly every time I fill one field. Whenever I move to another field, the dynamic barcode renders/ refreshes. This is consuming a lot of time. I'm taking nearly 10 minutes to fill a simple form. Can anyone suggest me a solution? Is there any setting available to resolve this?
    Thanks and Regards,
    Maria

The best thing you can do is cut and paste the code from the Calculate event of your barcode over to the pre-print event. Just before existing the calculate event though, add some /**/ remarks to ensure the automatically generated code is not just posted again.
While this won't give you barcodes that change in real time, it will ensure the barcode values change before the form is printed which is all you really need.
Lastly, add this.rawValue = " "; to the initial value of the barcode so you don't see a blank space on your form.

  • Sap console bdc

    Dear All,
We have developed some customized z-transactions related to standard MIGO
transaction for our Barcode Implementation project so that they can
run on Hand held terminals(HHT) as HHT doesnot Support SAP GUI (for ex : table controls, Tab strips etc.,)
The HHT is connected to SAP console via Telnet.
And we have used some BDCs which are developed using recording (SHDB) in these
    customised transactions.
Transactions along with BDC's are working absolutely fine when running on SAP GUI (Desktop computers) .
But when we run these transactions on SAP console and while executing BDC's, it shows
the follwing Message and BDC's doesn't work on sap console.

    Hello
The link you have provided is not working. And Have identical problem in completely different context.
I'm trying to use GUILIB.DLL to command GUI from Visual Basic.
To do it I had to write a DLL whish is changing the call covention to VB one. The DLL is just wrapping all exports.
Everyting works fine with Z-transactions and e.g. VD51 but
in VA01 or VD02, after filling the first screen with data sending the Event I get this error (DP_PUT_CLIENT_TABLE45A not available) after calling It_GetEvent.
DO you know any remedy (my patch level is 57 on 6.20 GUI)

  • Implementing Barcoding in Inventory Management in MM

    Hello All,
We would like to implement bar coding functionality in inventory Management (MM). What are the pre-requisites for that and within how much time it can be implemented. I also would like to know is there any interface available in SAP so that barcoding functionality can be directly deployed in SAP for IM?
Your quick response is highly appreciated.
    Best regards.
    Sanjay

    Hello,
    1) We have created one Z Output type in our project.
    2) The condition record for that output type is maintained in transaction MN21
    3) Whenever a GR is created, output is automatically assigned to that material document and the bar code label gets printed.
    4) Technically a program needs to be created which needs to be asigned to your output in transaction NACE under category ME.

  • Implementing Barcode logic

    Hi All,
Could anyone please help me in providing BARCODE logic/implementation in SAP SCRIPT?

    Hi Gurmeet,
There is no specific logic invlolved in it.
You just need to create a character format and chose a font fmaily which supports barcodes.
Finally you need to use it in text elements.
like if you want the bar code for a matnr,
    do like this:
    <bc>&matnr&</bc>.
note that you have defined a character format called bc already.

  • How do I implement barcode recognition or how is it done?

    Hi
Having just posted this message in the cryptography forums, I thought this might be more appropriate here and I might get a few more repsonces. However, I do appologise if I have posted this in the wrong forum, as I am a little unsure where this really belongs.
I am currently working on a software decoder that will be able to take images similar to barcodes and decode them. I already have the encoder working and I am able to create the encrypted image, but am struggling to create a reliable decoder that can analyse the image and decode it.
The decoder I have at present works fine if the image being decoded is EXACTLY the same image produced from the encoder (i.e. image has not been altered e.g. stretched or resized), since my decoder knows where to find pixels, but if one pixel is off by so much as one pixel location then the program will fail to decode. As you can guess this method is far from elegant, so I really want to know if anyone has any ideas or experience on algorithms or anything I should be looking at to improve my decoder. I have searched the net and found a couple of programs that does image recognition, and can pick out barcode etc and decode them. The third link below is particularly good, as it shows the program is capable of decoding a photo of a barcode - it is able to pick out the barcode and then decode it.
Here are screenshots from 2 applications.

    http://www.snapfish.co.uk/slideshow/AlbumID=19811658/PictureID=430558627/t_=20428522
Anyone have any tips as to how I can make my decoder more flexible?
I dont know much about the Java advanced imaging stuff, so some good online tutorials as to what I should need to know to do what I want to do would be good.
Again sorry if I am not very clear with my problem, I will try to answer any questions you may have.
    Thanks

Did you notice the difference between your image and theirs. Their image has a coordinate grid. This coordinate grid can be used to determine size, location of pixels, etc...
If you add a grid, when you process the image, find the grid, then find the coordinate markings, then find the pixels in relation to these coordinate marking creating an internal buffer of the image.
ie: have 0=white 1=black 2=grid 3=coordinate marking and make an internall representation of your image

Just an idea, but look into the coordinate grid it may be the key to why they can process their image.

  • ADF Faces - Which type of barcode scanner is recommended for ADF JSP?

    Hello everybody:
1.- I'm trying to implement and adf faces app, with the functionality to get some
    data from a barcode reader.
2.- I was reading about the different types of reader's interfaces: keyboard wedge,
    RS232, USB, bluetooth, etc.
    --- QUESTION' SECTION ---
3.- First, the best thing is that my app could be compatible with all interfaces, I
don't know if this is possible without any changes to the code.
4.- If the previous point is not possible, I know that at least my app has to be
compatible with the KB wedge and RS232, because I have read that the USB
just emulate these two interfaces, but in an USB port.
5.- I haven't read to much about this, but I need that my app do a post imediately
after read the barcode, so the best thing my mind could imagine is add an
<enter> char from the reader, I read too that this is only possible with the
RS232, is the only way to modify the output of the scanner before send it to
the app, and with the KB wedge is not possible.
6.- But, the KB wedge is easier to use because my app does not require any extra-
code to handle it, the only thing is: the cursor must be in the correct place in
    the correct time.
I have read in this forum that some people has already implement this, if some of
you guys have any suggestion, please let me know.
    Thnks in advance.
    Alex.

    Hi,
thre is no specific certification between barcode readers and ADF Faces. So if you need a barcode reader, it s up to you testing which one can interact with the browser to fill in the form fields (and this basically is all it does)

    Hi Siddhehswar:
I would suggest that you use the
Ribbon. Because this is a flexible way for SharePoint. In my project experience, I always suggest my customers to use it. In the feature, if my customers have customization about permission then i can accomplish this as soon
as possible. Simple put, I utilize this perfect mechanism to resolve our complex project requirement. Maybe we customize Upload/ Edit/ Modify/ Barcode/ Send mail etc... For example:
We customize <Edit> Ribbon. As shown below.
When user click <Edit Item>, the system will

  • How to print a Barcode VERTICALLY in a SAP Script ?

    Dear Experts..
I have to print a Barcode <b>vertically</b> in a SAP Script.
Could you please help me regarding this.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hey SR,
    follow these steps :
    Bar code  in Smartform :
    General definition of Bar code:
Bar codes are standardized characters of a symbol made up of a group of lines and spaces that can be recognized by an optical scanner. Bar codes uniquely identify article data, production numbers or transport units, for example. They can also contain additional information such as batch number, expiration date or weight.
    Example
In the Logistics Execution System (LES), certain field entries can be represented by bar codes and printed on the transfer documents. This simplifies certain data entry processes such as order confirmation.
    Type of bar code:
Bar codes are based on a binary principle and consist of a series of stripes/gaps of different widths. The sequence of the stripes or gaps results in an (alpha) numeric statement. Bar codes are read optically. Due to varying requirements, bar codes may differ with regard to the following aspects:
    •     printer tolerance
    •     decoding tolerance
    •     character width
    •     automatic check
    •     number of characters
Steps to implement bar code in the smartform:
    •     Use the transaction code smartstyle. Give a suitable name .Choose create.
    •     In change mode of the Smart Style select the Character formats node and choose Create.
    •     In the Character format field enter a two-character character key.
    •     Select the desired attributes of the Bar Code on the tab Standard Settings.
    •     Choose Activate.
    •     Assign the character format to the field or character string in the smartform.
    •     Activate the smartform.
    •     Test the same.

    Kunal.
