Base plan object costing sheet

Hi,
Pls advice do v need of creating new costing sheet for base planning object separately.
We used the existing costing sheet that v already have attached to our other pricing variants because there's no difference of OH calculation. But in base plan object, it doesn't calculate the OH automatical using the given costing sheet. This is our first time of using base plan object for our price simulations, pls advice how and what should we do to get solve this prob !!!
Thanx

HELLO
IF OH ARE NOT GET CALCULATED , ITS BECAUSE OF YOUR COST SHEET AND NOT OF BASE PLAANING OBJECT .
CHECK THE COST SHEET , HOW AND WHEN IT CALUCULATE OVEHEADS.
BECAUSE BSAE PLANNING OBJECT REQUIRED ONLY COST SHEET ASSIGNEMENT BY MANUALLLY OR BY COSTING VARIANT.
THANKS

  • Base Planning Object

    Hi Everyone,
Which method do we use in which situation?
    1) Base Planning Object
    2) Cost Estimate with QTY Structure
    3) Cost Estimate without QTY Sturcture
    And check this as well...
If you plan a new product for which there is no master data in the SAP, you can perform initial planning and cost projections by creating a Base Planning Object
What exactly SAP refering 'master data' in the above sentence. That is copied from their reference book.
    Reg,
    Swapna.

    HI,
    1. Base planning object allows you to enter a quantity structure manually, so you can costs without accessing BOMs, routings etc.,  With this you can cost new products (without material master). It is like a master record (with your own name) for which can create a cost estimate. It is excel like sheet where you can enter you costs. You still refer to a Costing variant here which is not the normal cost variant, though.
    2. Cost estimate with quantity structure makes use of quantity structure (BOM, routing etc.,) maintained in SAP. Costing view of material master has reference check to costing with quantity structure.
    3. The material costing without quantity structure is designed to cost materials without accessing BOMs and/or routings. The costing results are written to price fields in the material master. If no BOMs or routings exist, you can create the quantity structure manually and valuate it with the cost estimate.
If you are essentially trying to understand the difference among these in terms of usage, I think this makes it clear.
    Hope this helps.

I need to change the Price of a Resource in the Cost Items for a Base Planning Object.
So if any one know the BAPI for this topic please let me know, and if possible send me your code also it will be really help full.

I didn't find a BAPI to do this. I had to do it by a Batch Input.

  • Currency of Base Planning Object, KKE1, CKUC

    Dear all,
I have a question regarding the currency used to valuate base planning object.
The system stores the total value only in what it calls the "local" currency, actually it is the controlling area currency. We need the figures in the company code currency, not just for display, but for recording, because we use the base planning object to plan costs in easy cost planning in PS, and we plan there in the controlling area currency too.
Anybody has an idea how to get the company code currency instead of the conrolling area currency in the master data of the base planning object ?
    Kind regards
    François

    Hello Guido,
I agree with you regarding the object my problem. However, I have not yet found a way to change the currency of the object. I can change the currency of the header in the cost estimates.
However, easy cost planning ECP does not take this into acount when pricing base planning object in PS, it goes for the object price, which is in controlling area currency.
    Kind regards
    François

    hi..
means you want to calculate cost without qty struc. i think you have to creat a CO order (KKF1) for unit costing. other requirement you will find in CO order creation.

  • Base object costing

i need an overview of base object costing and base object planning in product costing with an scenario where it is exactly used

    HI,
I guess, you are referring to 'Base Planning Object' in simulation costing.
So, this functionality is used in simulation costing, especially for new products for which you don't have the master data defined in SAP.

  • Change to Base in costing sheet

    Hi Friends,
If one base ( BA01) is included in 3 costing sheets , now I am chaging to base BA01 fo costing sheet (CS01) and adding 2 activity types , now my question is since BA01 is incuded for 3 costing sheets(CS01/CS02/CS03) so the new actvity types will be added automatically for other two costing sheet bases.
Because bases are controlling area dependent and not specific to costing sheet.
Any pointers, please clarify my doubt.

    Hi,
yes, thats what it is: "Because bases are controlling area dependent and not specific to costing sheet." So changing one base-definition will affect all costing sheets that use this base-definiton as well.
The only thing is, you enter cost elements (or groups of them) in the base definition, not activity types.

  • Planning Process of Costing Sheets - Standard Cost Estimate

Can some one please explain which planning values costing sheets will pickup when processing standard cost estimate
    Thanks.

For frozen standard cost (both legal frozen standard and profit center standard), maintaining planning costing sheets are used
    KZZ2 (Percentage Overhead Type/Plant) and
    KZM2 (Quantity Overhead Type/Plant)
Both [' will pickup when processing standard cost estimate']
The prerequisites are first check the following:
MM03 - check material standard price
    CS03 - check material BOM
    CA23 - check Rate Routing
    KP27/KP26 - check/update Production Activity Type Price

  • Cost sheet without activity(Product costing)

    Hi,
In our company code all earlier created cost sheets have activities, which are assigned in cost element group.  And in base of the cost sheet, this cost element group has been assigned.
Now in the new process, for which the cost sheet to be prepared, there are only overheads and no activities.
Is it necessary to create cost element group?
Is it necessary to assign the cost element group in Base?
Any activity to be created by assigning zero value in KP26 for routing purpose?
    Please suggest.
    Prakash.

    Hi,
Yes. You need to assign the cost element group where the base cost shall be available to calculate the surcharge on the basis of overhead  percentages.
Activities shall not be found in Costing sheet. It is assigned in work center and KP26, you enter the planned prices. That is separate. In costing sheet you need to define overhead percentages.
    Trust this helps much!
    Cheers!

  • Overhead costing sheet in easy cost planning

    Hello,
I have created a overhead costing sheet (having base as material cost elements where a %age is defined to be applied on the material cost) and attached it to the valuation variant of easy cost planning in PS module.
Now for a given project when I am checking the easy cost planning, it is showing all individual lines of resources like material etc. along with its qty, price and value but I can not see the effect of the %age specified in overhead costing sheet.
Kindly suggest what is to be done.
Also pl. let me know whether I can see the cost component structure of easy cost planning.
    With Thanks and Regards
    Ratna

    Hello,
    Thanks for your reply.
But when I run CJ46 for a particular WBS element, it says "The object is not relevant for processing".
I have created the costingsheet as per the process mentioned below.
For overhead costing sheet, base is created with raw material cost elements range and origin group range.
Overhead rate is defined with dependency D020 - Overhead Type/Plant as 1.5% with proper validity period.
Credity key is defined with secondary cost element with category 41 and cost center and fixed % with default "*".
The above costing sheet is attached to the valuation variant of easy cost planning in PS module.
There is a cost component structure 10 which is attached to costing variant PS06.
Still CJ46 gives message as "The object is not relevant for processing" when I run it for particular WBS element.
Kindly suggest whether I m missing any other step.
    With Thanks and Regards.

  • Cost center planning data-Plan Variable Costs in Object Currency

    Dear All:
I have copied a standard planning layout and for the field, 'Planned Fixed Cost' and 'Planned Variable Cost', I have selected 'Plan Variable Costs in Object Currency' and 'Plan Fixed Costs in Object Currency' as the Key Figure.
I am doing this because our Controlling Area currency is TWD and the other company will upload the planning data in RMB .
However when I do the above settings and try to save, I am getting the following errors.
The column 'Plan Fixed Costs in Object Currency' can input correctly but the column 'Plan Variable Costs in Object Currency' canu2019t be update in KP06 .
    ex.
    Planner profile: SAPALL
    layout :1-101
I can't update the column "Plan Variable Costs "
I copy the layout 1-101 and change the column to  'Plan Fixed Costs in Object Currency' and it  still can't input variable cost
    BR,
    Carol

    Hi Carol
I have done this many times and never faced this issue
Just delete the copied layout and Copy it again from 1-101....
May be delete the existing columns of the layout and choose the desired key figure of object currency
Then assign the layout to Planner Profile

  • Import data external system in PCUI SAP CRM install base Object fact sheet

I want to import data from third party system to Object fact sheet of install base. Please let me know the possible way to do so. Do I need to import data in BI and then to Object fact sheet?

    Hi Pankaj,
If you have seperate BI server also alongwith the CRM system as back end. Then IU can create two seperate iviews of the two fact sheets hitting different servers e.g.if this is telecom perspective then In one pcui screen you can give two iviews one will fetch data from CRM server and populate 360 degree view of the customer whereas the BI iview will have multiple line level display of the last bills generated which we can see in detail also by hitting the same iview.

  • Difference between COPC planning and cost object controlling

I want to know why do we have to calculate the cost of a manufactured product by both COPC planning and Cost object controlling by order?
Will the cost of a manufactured product be different in COPC planning method and cost object controlling method?
if we use only cost object controlling to calculaute the cost of a manufactured product without using COPC planning wht will be the implications?

    Raja,
Yes the cost can be different. The cost calculating thorught Product Cost Planning may be static, you calculate it by period it is more for planning prupose ans to set standard. The cost calculated through Cost Object Controlling is resulting from your actual transactions, and the are few variables that could increase or decrease the cost of product. For example the overhead cost (Increase of salaries) can directly affect your activity rate at the work center and impact cost of your product when the production order is complete. You need both costs (Cost Planning and Cost Object releated) so at the end of the period you can calculate variance betweeen your plan cost and your actual costs.
    Hope this clarifies your doubts.

  • Costing Sheet on QM Orders

We recently upgraded from 4.5b to ECC 6.0.  Prior to the upgrade, we did not have costing sheets on our QM orders (they settle to other cost objects which then get overhead).  However, since the upgrade, these orders have been automatically given costing sheets and overhead keys.  (The costing sheet is the same on each order, but there are differing overhead keys.)  Of course, this is causing duplication of overhead on these costs.
I cannot find how the costing sheet and OH keys are getting onto the orders.
I have looked OPL8, but this order type is not in this configuration.  I have also checked the planning profile - this order type does not have a planning profile that defaults, but I can't see if the users are manually entering one.  I have looked at tables VIQMEL for the Quality Notification and COAS for the QM order, but don't see anything that gives me an answer.
    Does anyone have any suggestions?
    Thank you!

    Hi,
You have to first understand the functionality of costing sheet in SAP.
It is used to calculate or Load overheads to the inventory of Finished goods/semi finished goods.
Irrespective of how many process orders your client creates, with the help of one costing sheet you can calculate the overheads for all the process orders at the month end and then do month end activity.
In short you desing the logic of applying overheads on some basis either at percentages or quantity.
The base can be material, Labour, etc.
    Hope this clarifies.
    Thanks,
    Ravi Kumar
