Base64 and iFS
Hello forum,
I want to process some xml documents with binary content using existing xml parser.
Suppose my xml document is something like this:
<?xml version = '1.0' standalone = 'yes'?>
<PrintedDoc>
<Name> filename.pdf </Name>
<FolderPath> /printed/offer </FolderPath>
<Pages> 3 </Pages>
<ReprtName> offer </ReprtName>
<Content> pdf content </Content>
</PrintedDoc>
The problem is that "pdf content" is binary. The common solution - base64 encoding.
My question: Does iFS uderstand and parse accordingly base64 format? If yes, how?
something like that: <Content format="binary/base64"> AAAADA....ADD+++++DE... </Content>?
Or I have to write my own parser for that?
TIA
Alexandre
If you simply need to add some custom attributes to PDF files you can define custom content type (see "iFS. Developer Reference. Extending Content Types and Attributes".

Vasiliy

Very slow processing on LSMW and IFS access
Hi all,
we have a very slow processing on LSMW and IFS access. I believe it was slow all the time in the past. This LSMW transaction only converts some data, which are stored in a flat file in the IFS and stores it again into a flat file in the IFS. It is reading the data from IFS and writing again the data into the IFS.
IFS is not fast, I know. But do you have an similar experiences with such LOAD ?!
R/3 Enterprise 4.70 shows with transaction SM50 the following lon running job:

Teamleader SAP-Basis, ebmpapst Mulfingen, GemanyHi together,
thanks for answering so fast.
The jobs read from the sysbas-IFS /usr/sap/a/b/ and writes to /usr/sap/SID/DVEBMGS00/work/ also in the sysbas-IFS.This IFS is not remote. Not through the QfileSrv.400 mechanism.
And yes, we have a HA solution. We have two IASP's on two different iSeries and are using XSM to mirror the data.
I have tried to increase the speed by switching off the XSM mirroring, but the speed does not increase. Sorry.

Decode Base64 and save as binary file
Hi there,
I am using Adobe Air 1.5 with JavaScript and want to save a file to my hard
drive. I get the data from a WebService via SOAP as a Base64 encoded string. A test-string is attached. When I try to decode it with
the WebKit function "atob()" and try to save this bytes with following code, I can't open the file.
this.writeFile = function(outputfile, content, append){
var file =a ir.File.applicationStorageDirectory.resolvePath(outputfile);
var stream = newa ir.FileStream();
if (append) {
stream.open(filea, ir.FileMode.APPEND);
}else {
stream.open(filea, ir.FileMode.WRITE);
try{//Binärdaten
stream.writeBytes(content0, , content.length);
}catch(e){//Textdaten
stream.writeUTFBytes(content);
stream.close();
The same happens when I try to open a file from my HDD and read in the bytes. When I decode it to base64, the string is not equal to the string, which is correct.
I attached a working Base64 string, which I could convert back to a zip-file via a only encoder.
So my question is, how can I decode a Base64 string and save the binary data to a file?
Thank you for your help.I rewrote the Base64 decoder/encoder to use it with a ByteArray. Here ist the code:
var byteArrayToBase64 = function(byteArr){
var base64s = "ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZabcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz0123456789+/";
var encOut = "";
var bits;
var i = 0;
while(byteArr.length >= i+3){
bits = (byteArr[i++] & 0xff) << 16 | (byteArr[i++] & 0xff) << 8 | byteArr[i++] & 0xff;
encOut += base64s.charAt((bits & 0x00fc0000) >> 18) + base64s.charAt((bits & 0x0003f000) >> 12) + base64s.charAt((bits & 0x00000fc0) >> 6) + base64s.charAt((bits & 0x0000003f));
if(byteArr.length-i > 0 && byteArr.length-i < 3){
var dual = Boolean(byteArr.length - i - 1);
bits = ((byteArr[i++] & 0xff) << 16) | (dual ? (byteArr[i] & 0xff) << 8 : 0);
encOut += base64s.charAt((bits & 0x00fc0000) >> 18) + base64s.charAt((bits & 0x0003f000) >> 12) + (dual ? base64s.charAt((bits & 0x00000fc0) >> 6) : '=') + '=';
return encOut;
var base64ToByteArray = function(encStr){
var base64s = "ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZabcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz0123456789+/";
var decOut = new air.ByteArray();
var bits;
for(var i = 0, j = 0; i<encStr.length; i += 4, j += 3){
bits = (base64s.indexOf(encStr.charAt(i)) & 0xff) <<18 | (base64s.indexOf(encStr.charAt(i +1)) & 0xff) <<12 | (base64s.indexOf(encStr.charAt(i +2)) & 0xff) << 6 | base64s.indexOf(encStr.charAt(i +3)) & 0xff;
decOut[j+0] = ((bits & 0xff0000) >> 16);
if(i+4 != encStr.length || encStr.charCodeAt(encStr.length - 2) != 61){

Hi,
I have two UTF-8 encoded xml files on a Windows 2000 client and are trying to add them to iFS.
The iFS version is 1.1.9.0.7 running of Oracle 8i version 8.1.7.1.1 on an NT4 SP6. I have set IFS_JAVA_VERSION=1.2 to use the Oracle 8i Apache JDK. The database was created with the utf-8 character set.
The problem is as follows:
The two utf-8 encoded files are identical with the exception that one of the files have the utf-8 byte order mark (BOM) EF BB BF whereas the other does not have the BOM.
When I load the file with the BOM using the filesystem or browser upload, with the parse option, I get the following error:
Mon Jul 23 15:42:43 GMT+02:00 2001: \public\CV-Bank\Copy of CV_Patrik_Johansson.xml:

I have loaded the XDK for PLSQL 9.0.2.0.0A into the database and replaced the original %ORACLE_HOME%\lib\xmlparserv2.jar with the one distributed in this XDK.
Does anyone have a suggestion what to do?

nullHi SJ,
There are two final products. That is one is requirement of Oil Cans and other one is requirement of Oil Drums. So, there should be two Finish materials. "Oil Can" and "Oil Drum"
For Oil you can maintain the Base Unit of Measure as "Litres" and give other unit conversions in both Cans and drum. i.e 1 Can - 5 Litrs and 1 Drum = 200 Litres.
You always get the requirement of Oil either in Drum or in Cans only !!!
So, you can generate the Production requirement either in Cans or in Drums. Based on the total requirement of oil either in drums or in cans, you can get the Net requirement in Litres to manufacture.
> Now i want mentain bom unitwise i e canwise or drumwise.
you can maintain BOM for each finish materials as per the Base unit of Measure.
> I want to give requirement in md 61 canwise or drumwise.
You can generate the requirement for Both Drums and Cans and finally get the net requirement of Oil in Litres.
> sales order is also to be mentained canwise or drumwise.
You can have a sale order for either drums or cans or both.
Hope this clears you !!

Base64 and dbms_output problem
Hello,
I'm trying to write a function that generate HTML content for sending inside a mail. This HTML content needs to have some picture inside it. To do so I'm using some conversion function from blob to base 64 encoding. To be sure that my function is working properly, I'm trying to execute it inside Oracle SQL developer.
The problem is that whenever I'm tying to show up any base64 content via dbms_output.put_line I got:
ORA-06502: PL/SQL: numeric or value error
ORA-06512: at line xxx
06502. 00000 - "PL/SQL: numeric or value error%s"
Here is the part of the code where I'm trying to open file and convert it inside base64 content
With those variable:
-- locale variables
vc_mail_content CLOB;
vc_file_folder VARCHAR2(100);
vb_lFile BFILE;
vc_image_content CLOB;
vb_image_content BLOB;Code:
FOR c_file_name IN
( SELECT filename, folder
FROM MO_ITEM_IMAGES
WHERE item_id = R_lots.item_id)
LOOP
dbms_output.put_line('attachement '||c_file_name.fileName);
vb_image_content := NULL;
DBMS_LOB.CREATETEMPORARY(vb_image_content,true);
vb_lfile := BFILENAME('MO_DIR', 'webdav/'||c_file_name.folder||'/'||c_file_name.fileName);
DBMS_LOB.OPEN(vb_lfile, DBMS_LOB.LOB_READONLY);
DBMS_LOB.OPEN(vb_image_content, DBMS_LOB.LOB_READWRITE);
DBMS_LOB.LOADFROMFILE( DEST_LOB => vb_image_content,
SRC_LOB => vb_lfile,
AMOUNT => DBMS_LOB.GETLENGTH(vb_lfile));
DBMS_LOB.CLOSE(vb_lfile);
vc_image_content := zzz_mails.getbase64String(vb_image_content);
--/!\ This DBMS output creates the error /!\
dbms_output.put_line(vc_image_content);
DBMS_LOB.CLOSE(vb_image_content);
vc_mail_content := vc_mail_content||vc_image_content;
END LOOP; Whenever it reach the DBMS_output.put_line, I got the error.
The getbase64String function is a function that translate from blob to base64 clob
Can someone help me to solve this problem?
Thank you
Edited by: user13444434 on 3 juil. 2011 08:42DBMS_OUTPUT can not print CLOB in thay way. YOu can use a function like this:
PROCEDURE print_clob(p_clob in clob) as
l_offset number default 1;
BEGIN
loop
exit when l_offset > dbms_lob.getlength(p_clob);
dbms_output.put_line(dbms_lob.substr(p_clob, 255, l_offset));
l_offset := l_offset + 255;
end loop;
END print_clob;and call that in your original procedure. -
OSB: xs:base64 and MTOM - validation
Hi,
I have a xs:base64 that I would like to transfer on OSB using MTOM with include binary data by reference.
I'm required to walidate the response before sending.
Now the problem is, I get the schema validation error on this element. It says "did not expect the ctx:binary-content" in my xs:base64 element.
Help please?It is very simple and the thread you are referring to describes that in full detail - just use Java Callout with javax.activation.DataSource as a return value. In Java Callout, you assign return value (your binary data) to a new OSB variable. Then use Replace action to put your variable into any other variable.

Hi
We are having Dream Weaver manage the files on the Desktops of Users
Dream Weaver takes care of tracking the embedded image files in the HTML files.
questiona are
1. Does IF take care of the embedded Image
files (gif, jpgs etc..) and if NO
then
2. Can Dream Weaver do the file uploads
through IFS
Also when loading content into Database (IFS not in picture here), with only Intermedia in picture, how do we mange to maintain the links of the image files embedded in the HTML files which will be stored in the database?
Or is it that Oracle takes care of this implicitly?
Answers required ASAP
Thank you very much for the same
Would appreciate any links or suggetsions to refernce manual

nullWe used dreamweaver in the development of iFS's WebUI. You can use either FTP or map the iFS repository as a network drive using SMB.
Any links to graphics will be retained. It is always best to use relative links as they have a much better chance of being portable.

Error Encountered while uploading HTML, PDF files via WEBUI and IFS API
Hello:
We have suddenly run into problems while using IFS to upload files. We cannot seem to upload html and pdf files using either the WEBUI or Oracle's IFS API. However we are able to add .gif, jpeg files both via the WEBUI and Oracles IFS API's
This is the error we get while trying to upload .html files via the WEBUI
IFS-30002: Unable to create new Library Object.
This is the stack trace we get when we try creating content objects via IFS API's. We can't seem to understand why something that used to work has suddenly quit working.
Does this have anything to do with running out of space requirements in the table spaces?

Weblogic and IFS (Urgent)
Hi there ,
Could anyone help me in installing IFS on Weblogic Application server
What all things i have to do to get it worked on weblogic
Thanks in advance
gopanHi !
Can somebody tell me what versions of iFS can be used with iAS 1.0.2.2.1 ? And the way around : Which version of iAS should I use for iFS 9.0.1 ?
Many thanks !!! Hi Jay.
There are two versions of iFS.
- The iFS which ships as an integrated part of the iAS 1.0.2.0, 1.0.2.1, and 1.0.2.2.
- The iFS which ships as its own install and is downloadable from OTN (including iFS 9.0.1).
The first iFS is not certified to work outside of iAS
The second one is not certified to work with iAS (use the Oracle HTTP Server shipped with the database instead).
iFS 9.0.1 is not available with iAS yet. We're working on a version (9.0.2) which will be shipping with iAS. (I can't give dates.)
I hope that helps.

iFS Product Management -
I have read that iFS support synchronization of users stored in OiD into DirectoryUsers that are stored in the iFS schema.
We have seen (with iFS 902) that if we create a new user in iFS the same user is created in OID. It works fine.
I wonder if there is a way to have synchronization the
other way round. If someone create a new user on OID is it possible to create the account in iFS, and how?If you can hold off until the CM SDK 9.0.4 timeframe you will get this for free plus a whole lot more! Unfortunately OID releases prior to that found in OID 9.0.4 did not pass an OID "event" when a user was created - prior releases supported events for "delete" and "update" of users only.
Beginning with OID 9.0.4, we can obtain events for create/delete/update of both users and groups. We will have an updated agent framework that supports all these new events.
You may also be interested to know that CM SDK 9.0.4 will support OID groups for centralized administration.
The current Oracle Files release found in OCS v1 has an OidUserSynchronizationAgent that syncs users located under a particular "Subscriber" with the DirectoryUser equivalent in the Files repository using a different mechanism. This functionality unfortunately is not found in CM SDK 9.0.3 - and is not based on the OID event model. This Agent will eventually switch to the new framework found in CM SDK 9.0.4.

I want to install 9iAS 1.0.2.2 (with Portal 3.0.9) and i want to use iFS features in my content management applications (in Portal).
Are iFS and Portal integrated? Do i need something called an iFS portlet?
Is it available with 9iAS 1.0.2.2 (Portal 3.0.9)
Thanks in Advance for any reply.

Can I use LDAP to connect to other LDAP enabled directory servers other than Oracles own directory server e.g we have a portal server that contains all the user authentication information in its own directory server. Can IFS connect to that directory server and utilize that authentication information? If so how?
Thanks
KaustuvaOracle iFS 1.1 does not support LDAP. LDAP support is an important feature for iFS and is currently being planned for a future releases. However, it is not possible to project which release of iFS will
support LDAP in our planning efforts. -
I have Oracle Database and Oracle iFS, I just configured OEM but I can not see the iFS information (nodes,etc)
What do I need to do to be able to administer iFS from OEM?
Oracle 9i 9.2
AS 9.0.2
iFS 9.0.2
ThanksHi Charles.
Several points:
- Look at the appendix of the 1.1 Developer's Guide for details on this error message. http://technet.oracle.com/docs/products/ifs/doc_library/ifs_1_1/Developers%20Guide/Errormessages.html#1011023
- In the appendix of the 1.1 Developer's Guide, it indicates "...can also occur if the DatabaseUrl setting in the service properties file is invalid."
- I think the DatabaseUrl is found in the $ORACLE_HOME/ifs1.1/settings/oracle/ifs/server/properties/HttpServer.properties file.
- Could it be that you didn't re-run IfsConfig after changing something about your connection? I believe IfsConfig sets the DatabaseUrl for you.
Hope that helps.
