OSB: xs:base64 and MTOM - validation
Hi,
I have a xs:base64 that I would like to transfer on OSB using MTOM with include binary data by reference.
I'm required to walidate the response before sending.
Now the problem is, I get the schema validation error on this element. It says "did not expect the ctx:binary-content" in my xs:base64 element.
Help please?
It is very simple and the thread you are referring to describes that in full detail - just use Java Callout with javax.activation.DataSource as a return value. In Java Callout, you assign return value (your binary data) to a new OSB variable. Then use Replace action to put your variable into any other variable.

You cannot set it up without a SIM. You need to get one. Doesn't have to be active - you can get a used one on eBay for a buck or two.

Intel Matrix Storage Manager disables Windows Update and Windows Validation on Windows 7 64-bit
I have a Lenovo ThinkPad R61 8918CTO on which I did a clean install of Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 (64-bit) on a new Seagate Momentus XT 750GB drive. The installation was trouble-free, as were all of the post-install Windows Updates.
Then I installed ThinkVantage System Update 4.03 and used it to install most of the available Lenovo updates. Big mistake. I'll spare you a detailed account of the hours I wasted troubleshooting, rolling back to previous restore points, and doing more troubleshooting, but it turns out that installing Intel Matrix Storage Manager driver v. 8.9.2.1002 caused Windows Update and Windows Validation to fail.
Symptoms: Windows Update control panel can't check for updates and reports that the Windows Update service isn't running when it actually is. Online Windows Validation fails and the standalone Windows Validation utility won't install. Microsoft programs that require a validated copy of Windows (e.g., Microsoft Security Essentials) won't install.
Solution: Roll back the driver for the relevant SATA controller to the previous driver.
I've reinstalled ThinkVantage System Update 4.03 and hidden the proposed Intel Matrix Storage Manager update; since then, I've used it to complete my Lenovo updates without issue.
I hope this post will help other people with this problem find the solution a lot faster than it took me!This happened after installing a new advanced format drive with 4k-byte sectors, I'd guess. If the storage driver doesn't report the physical sector size to Windows, update fails.
I just ran across this myself (again) putting Win 7 on a T400.
I don't know why this is still going on. It may be that the update lists for older machines still have pre-AF-drive drivers listed.
FYI, another fix is going to the Intel site and installing the latest Matrix Storage Manager AHCI driver. This may be more desirable than rolling back to an older driver in some cases.

XML Validation in PI 7.1 - Restart and skip validation possible, but how?
Hello all,
I read about schema validation in PI 7.1 and did a few tests on my own, but could not restart and skip validation for invalid payloaded messages. The documents say it is possible.
Anyone know how? Thanks.
BTW, I really think putting the schemas in server file system will cause a lot of authorization trouble in enterprises. No one gives access to the server filesystem and I don't think they will also like to open the required subdirectories for share. Asking the basis team to create the folder structures and maintaining schemas would be another pain. Don't you also think that SAP could find a better approach, like automatically uploading the schemas to the filesystem, or validating them from repository directly if possible?

I am facing the same issue.
I set up outbound xml validation in receiver agreement and tested it with valid and invalid messages.
The validation works fine.
But in case of validation error I tried to restart with skipping the validation. But this wasn't possible.
I am always facing the same valdiation error.
I already tried all different tools I know (sxi_monitor, message monitoring in rwb and in nwa)
I am working on PI 7.11 SP6
Did you find a solution for skipping the validation for a single message out of the monitoring?
I know that there is the possibility of deactivate the validation in receiver agreement but thid doesn't meet the requirement of skip the validation only for a single message.
Maybe anyone else faced and solved this issue already.

OSB is staless and how it achieves Asychnorous call back
Hi All,
I got to know OSB is statless and BPEL is stateful and hence it supports Asynchronous Call back reliably with Correletaion ID which is also
supported in Oracle Enterprise Service bus and it is now knows as Mediator in 11g.
The question I have is
A) Since OSB is stateless which means we can't implement Asynchronous call back kind of integration pattern.
B) If my proxy service has to call WebService Asynchronopusly and don't wait for the response continue with the rest of the
execution once the response get's received from the web service it has to send the details to the source.
I am indeed aware of one particular indirect approach is this kind of stuffs could be achieved in JMS queues by means of correlation IDs by
means of using two queues one for request and another for response.
If anyone had a better suggestion/thoughts please do provide the same at the earliest.

OSB proxy service and BPEL depedency is not established in BTM
Hi All,
I am using BTM 12.1.0.3 and I have deployed a service where an OSB proxy service is taking employee information and callling a BPEL process which writes data in some database table. The OSB proxy service and BPEL got discovered in BTM but the dependecy between OSB Proxy service and BPEL process is not established in BTM. I have used soa-dorect protocol to call the BPEL from OSB. I have also tried with using http protocol in OSB for calling a BPEL but nothing worked and the depedency is not established in BTM.
Now I want to create an end-toend transaction i.e. starting from OSB proxy to the database. For this I selected OSB proxy operation and BPEL operation but correlation is not established. How can I correlate these operation? And how can I create an end-to-end transaction for this type of service where OSB calls a BPEL?
Please guide!!

OSB, DB adapters and complex XML
I'm new to all Oracle middleware products (and it's years since I've written any Java, while I'm being honest), but I've been given the task of taking some existing XML feeds and sticking some of the data in a DB. Well, that's the basic solution I've come up with anyway, and OSB (10.3.1) seems the way to go.
I've seen the JCA DB adapter tutorial at http://www.oracle.com/technology/sample_code/products/osb/index.html - and very good it is too, but I'm wanting to take it a bit further. i.e. do something more complex than a simple 1:1 XML attribute to database column mapping. I want to take the existing XML file that has a relatively complex schema (containing more attributes than we actually need, plus entire sections I want to ignore) and only take the relevant info and put it in the DB table.
The thing is, I don't see any pointers on that, wherever I look on the web. Is it simply a case of hacking around with the xml, xsd, mappings, etc...telling it about the extra fields, and to ignore them...or - given that will probably take quite a while - is there a an easier way using Jdeveloper, Eclipse or something?
Likewise, is there a nice tutorial showing how to create a proxy service and map it to the DB adapter business service? I guess I can figure that out myself, but it's nice to save time and see the 'right' way first...
Any other pointers, before I head off down the wrong path? Good resources, aside from the manuals on here?
Cheers in advance.If I remember correct, a DB Proxy (JCA proxy using DB adapter) required for cluster deployment , is supposed to use a WSDL specifically generated from JDEV with specific settings.
Ex. I created a db proxy in my development box (Single node OSB domain). The same proxy cannot be deployed in clustered osb domain. The wsdl for db inbound in cluster domain is little different from db inbound in non-cluster env and that has to be created from scratch from JDEV.

I have a package which has 10 sequence containers. Have 10 Flat File Source files and all is working perfect on BI Debug mode. When I deploy this package to server I am getting the following error.
I have changed the property Retain the same connection = True but same problem. I have changed the data flow task to Load Project instead of Load Into Project but in error message it is still showing the old name. I have tried to remove the whole step i.e.
Removed Load into Project Data flow with sequence container but I am getting the same error message.
I am not able to understand the reason. Any Idea why am I getting the same error message even I do not have the Data Flow named Load Into Package. It is in SSIS 2008 and being deployed on SQL 2012 server.

According to the error message(hightlight above), it seems it's a mapping issue that Naarasimha point out in the post above. Please check this carefully.
An OLE DB destination includes mappings between input columns and columns in the destination data source. You do not have to map input columns to all destination columns, but depending on the properties of the destination columns, errors can occur if
no input columns are mapped to the destination columns.

In your post, you said that it is in SSIS 2008 and being deployed on SQL 2012 server. Do you mean that you create the package deployment utility by using SSIS 2008, and then implement SSIS deployment in SSIS 2012 environment? If so, you need to
convert the project to package deployment model to generate Manifest file in SSIS 2012. Please see:

Is there a way to propogate SAML tokens from OSB to BPEL and vise-versa. There are lots of references on using OWSM policies. Can I achieve passing tokens and asserting without them?

SumanStarting from 11gR1 (11.1.1.3) Release, we have new feature to start transaction. OSB proxy can be configured to start a transaction.Refer to message flow transaction http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E14571_01/relnotes.1111/e10132/osb.htm#CJACHEHJ
So with this feature, all we need a create a proxy say HTTP and enable this feature. OSB will start a transaction before your pipeline is invoked. Let me know if you need clarification.

OSB Eclipse Plugins - and Helios SR1?
I am currently trying to setup a development environmen for Oracle Service Bus 11g with Eclipse.
On the first run I have successfully installed WLS11gR1, OEPE (as shipped with WLS - Gallileo) and OSB 11gR1. That works fine.
Now I have tried to setup Helios by creating a link file to the OSB plugins. This works fine on the first look to,
p2 doesn't complain when picking up the OSB plugins. If I start eclipse also can see the OSB perspective, edit proxy services etc.
However, some functions (as e.g adding a wl instance in wtp) don't work any more and throw weired exceptions in metadata\.log.
Googling these exceptions have pointed me to another post [1] where people say that the current (11gR1) set of OSB plugins can not be used with helios, but only with galileo.
However, if this is true the advice given in another post [2] (installing a set of older plugins first, then upgrade) will not work. I would have loved to try that anyway,
but I can't find the old download any more.
However, could you please help me with these questions:
1) Has somebody Eclipse 3.6.1 with OEPE and OSB plugins up and properly running? Or can you confirm the incompatibility?
2) If so, do you know in which OSB plugins release Helios SR1 will be supported?

I'm just finishing downloading OSB for Windows and gonna try it from here.

Date and Time validation together...
Hi,
I want to have the date and time validation together. Is it posible?
I am not able to do it using "AT SELECTION-SCREEN".
e.g.
DATE1 - DATE2 is 12/22/2009 - 05/27/2010
TIME1 - TIME2 is 15:00:00 - 01:00:00
This will result in error because the time1 is more than time2 but it is correct when it is tied to date1.
I tries to validate them together but it gives the standard error all the time.
Please help me.

You could have a normal range for your date field and two parameters for the times...no?
