  • MRP II in Production Planning and Control

    Dear all,
        I am studing SAP Production planning and control. What is Manufacturing Resource Planning (MRP II) and  what is the role of MRP II in PPC? What all modules MRP II covers in ERP?
    Thanks in advance
    Jenisha

    Hi,
    MRP-II includes following SAP modules:
    Materials Management
    Production Processes
    Quality Management
    Product Costing
    The end result of MRP that supports enhanced inventory tracking, limited product and project costing, quality management, and process order management. Despite its complexity, the system is both flexible and easy to use.

  • Unable to create a production plan and schedule on SAP B1

    Hi,
    I've been trying to figure out how to use SAP B1 to give me a production plan and schedule for quite some time now.... I have no problem in accessing my pending orders. There seems to be no option in my production tab to enter resource information! Would be great if you could possibly tell me how to figure this out.

    Hi,
    Without capturing the actual time of production orders, it is not possible to perform scheduling. You may create planned production order by based on theoretical time.
    Only third party add-on fulfill your requirement.
    Thanks & Regards,

  • Production planning and control

    Dear Experts,
    I have some doubt in my mind can you all help me out to resolve my issue.
    i am in production dept of our company and our company have 3rd party location to whom our purchase dept arrange the
    RM,PM and Labels. We get the material packed through this 3rd party and provide them packing charges on per units basis and
    and afterward packing they offer the FG to our QC person  for checking and after checking our QC person give the FG UD
    if FG was found ok.
    Generally our 3rd party location make the production order, release it, issue it, GR it and do confirmation. That is overall
    SAP related activities are been handled by our 3rd party location.
    So kindly confirm me that how can we control our 3rd party production activites from our end.
    What is the correct system, i mean who should release the production order we or our 3rd party, who should issue the material we or 3rd party,
    who should GR and do confirmation we or 3rd party.
    Please provide me the best solution for controlling this 3rd party location.
    Thanks in advance have a nice day.

    Hi,
    which kind of production U have? MTO or MTS?
    I think is better U leave at the 3rd party the autonomy to do all SAP actions. U can monitor in any case what is going on there via COHV, COGI and so on. In any case I would suggest that U release the Production order and then the 3rd can proceed, in this way U can plan the activity to them till the GR on the Production Order. Then later U can post the godd issue and send a shipping notification to the 3rd party.
    I hope it helps,
    Cheers,
    Mik

  • I need sample basic data file containing Product,Market,Measures etc

    I need sample basic data file containing Product,Market,Measures etc to load data in to Sample Basic applications. Where can I get this?

    As I am the World Domain Lead for Sample.Basic (this is a joke, btw, it's sort of like being King of my front stoop, and besides, I just made it up) I will note two things about CALCDAT.TXT.
    1) It is not in columnar format, but instead in Essbase free-form data load format as user2571802 notes. This means if you take a look at it with a text editor, it's a bit confusing to read till you realize that it contains all dimensional information in the data file itself. See the DBAG's section on [Data Sources That Do Not Need A Rules File|http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E10530_01/doc/epm.931/html_esb_dbag/ddlintro.htm#ddlintro1029529].
    2) CALCDAT.TXT contains level 0 and calculated results. Just load it -- there's no need to calculate it.

  • Is Yosemite compatible with Kodak production planning and workflow software like Prinergy Workflow?

    Is the new OS 10.10 system compatible with Kodak production planning and workflow software? like Prinergy Workflow (incl. the Workshop and Workspace user interfaces as well as the ColorFlow and Preps Client) and Prinergy Evo Client,

    Steven,
    Thank you for your quick reply and information there in. The video is very nice too. Great angles and composition.
    So I guess, I'm going to have swap my drive and re-install my OS when the machine arrives.
    I'm not going to be able to capture directly to my desktop (due to poratability reasons). So is there I way in Premire CS3 to uncompress the HDV from the camera and store it in my HDD in uncompressed format? I don't mind having to do this extra step each time if the post production experience is going to be better.
    I've heard a lot about Aspect HD from you and others here as well as other forums. I'm not very video savvy yet and don't understand a lot of the vocabulary used :). I've been to their website and don't get what their products are supposed to give me either (I guess their audience understands exactly what they are saying).
    What I do get is it decompresses the MPEG 2 to saves it to yout HDD for editing purposes. However, I would have thought the Premier Pro CS3 would have that capability as part of the product, no?
    I'd also like to use footage that is not HDV as well as photos/images (composits) but still retain the final cut to be HDV quality. Is this possible and if so, what does it do to the editing experience/performance?
    Will I be able to output the final cut back to my camera's Mini DV tape (without having to buy Aspect HD)?

  • Downloaded data in Excel from SAP table data to have the macro and control?

    We know that in SE16 screen to display SAP table data, there is a menu item or button to download the table data to excel sheet, but in the excel sheet, the data is for display only and some calculation functions (e.g. sum) are not be able to be downloaded to the excel sheet as macro.
    Our customers would like us to see if there is a way that in the excel sheet with the download SAP table data, only some certain rows/columns of data are allowed to be changed by customers or in other words, other areas in the excel sheet should be frozen and users can not even insert a column and do the copy/paste rows/columns.  And also the original calculated column in SAP table (e.g., sum) would be in the corresponding column in the excel sheet, but with macro to do the same function (e.g., sum).  After the customers perform some changes in some allowed certain rows/columns in the excel file, then the changed data can be uploaded back to SAP.
    Wonder if there are such ABAP program to fullfill the above task to download SAP table data to an excel file and to make the downloaded data in the excel with only some certain row/columns to be changeable and all other areas frozen?
    Thanks and we will give you reward points for valuable answers!

    Hi,
    This scenario can be met with the FM : RH_START_EXCEL_WITH_DATA
    This is available in Older versions. Starts Excel with a macro.
    I have never tried using this FM.
    However, I came across : http://www.jt77.com/development1/programming-23850.html
    Showing the use of it.

  • Intergration of Production Planning with Plant Maintenance (SAP Modules)

    Our SAP Implentation Consultants are creating work centres in Production Planning which are different to the workcentres in Plant Maintenance as follows.
    Work Centres in PP
    Mixing
    Blowing
    Filling
    Packaging
    Work Centres in PM
    Mechanical
    Electronics
    Electrical
    My observation is that in PM the work centres should be identical to PP work centres. whereas Mechanical, Electronics and Electrical should be configured as divisions or departments. The idea is that by having PM WC identical to PP WC the costing will be simplified.
    looking forward to expert's advices, please

  • Risk and Controls in SAP ISU - auditing.

    Dear All,
    Could anyone advise what the Key Risks and the Key Controls are in SAP ISU, what the touch points are in the Business Process or point me in the right direction. I would like to do an audit for ISU like I have undertaken in Security and Basis. Is there a risk and control mix? (Not SoD)
    Kind Regards
    Camran

    Here are some points:
    1) Verify FICA with FI
    2) Verify FICA with BW
    3) Verify Billing with BW
    4) Verify Invocing with what has been printed
    These are not standard ISU reports therefore they need to be developed. Usually they are developed using SAP Script based on the audit particular requirements.
    Hope it helps,

  • Product planning and backing data to users computer

    Hi, I'm learning to program on the mac and have a quick question that has popped into my head. One of the most important features in having software on the iPhone is a strong back-up process of the users data. I am struggling with different types of solutions including:
    1) Creating a mac desktop client application that syncs back and forth with the iPhone (like Omnifocus does)
    2) Creating a back-up process that just backs-up to mobile me (like some other applications)
    3) Creating a back-up process that just stores a back-up file on the users computer
    4) Doing step one and also producing a duplicate window's client as well
    I really want to support iPhone users that use windows as well as mac (so I'm not limiting myself). I guess the question I have is how hard is it to port over a Mac desktop client (built with NSObjects stuff) to windows. I'm thinking it is impossible unless it is developed with pure C/C++ (because apple specific objects and such won't port).
    So I think I have answered my own question with "hire a windows developer" to develop out the windows desktop client when it gets to that point.
    Anyone have any feedback on how they have creatively worked through this problem?

    What particular and otherwise mutable iPhone data, beyond this list spec'd by Apple, are you specifically considering as part of a procedurally strong backup/sync session?
    iTunes will backup the following information:
    iPhone OS 1.1 and greater
    * Safari bookmarks, cookies, history, and currently open pages
    * Map bookmarks, recent searches, and the current location displayed in Maps
    * Application settings, preferences, and data
    * Address Book and Address Book favorites
    * Calendar data
    * Wallpapers
    * Notes
    * Call history
    * Mail accounts
    * YouTube bookmarks
    * SMS messages
    * Saved suggestion corrections (these are saved automatically as you reject
    suggested corrections)
    * Camera roll (photos and screen shots taken by the iPhone)
    * Voicemail token (this is not the Voicemail password, but is used for
    validation when connecting. This is only restored to a phone with the same
    phone number on the SIM card.)
    * Web clips
    * Network settings (saved wifi spots, VPN settings, network preferences)
    * Paired Bluetooth devices (which can only be used if restored to the same
    phone that did the backup)
    * Keychain (this includes email account passwords, Wi-Fi passwords, and
    passwords you enter into websites and some other applications. The keychain can
    only be restored from backup to the same iPhone or iPod touch. If you are
    restoring to a new device, you will need to fill in these passwords again.)
    With iPhone 2.0 and later
    * Managed Configurations/Profiles
    * List of External Sync Sources (Mobile Me, Exchange ActiveSync)
    * Microsoft Exchange account configurations
    * Nike+iPod saved workouts and settings
    * App Store Application data (except the Application itself, its tmp and Caches folder).

  • I need options for data replication within production db and dimensional db

    Hi,
    I'm looking for options on how to solve this issue. We've 2 databases, one is our production, operative database, used by around 400 users at a time, and another one, which is our dimensional model of the same info, used to obtain reports. We also have a lot of ETL's (extract, transform and load) processes running every night to update the dim model.
    Mi problem is that we have some online reports, and nowadays, we're getting data from the operational database, causing a performance issue in online operations. We want to migrate this reports to the dimensional model, and we're trying to find the best options for doing this.
    Options that we're considering are ETL's process running continuously every XX minutes, materialized views, ETL's on demand, and others.
    Our objective is to minimize performance issues on transactional database.
    We're using Oracle 8i (yes, the oldie one) and Reporting Services as report engine (reports just run a pkg to get data).
    Any option is welcome.
    Thx in advance.
    Regards,
    Adrian.

    The best option for you if the performance is the
    most important is ORACLE STREAMS. Also is the most
    complex but the final results are very goodsAgreed. As User12345 points out, though, that requires Oracle 9.2 or higher.
    Another option is the materialized views with Fast
    Refresh , that need the materialized view logs in
    the master site.
    The first load is expensive but if you refresh each
    15 minutes the cost is not high.I'd be careful about making that sort of statement. The overhead of both maintaining materialized view logs (which have to be written to synchronously with the OLTP transactions and which impose an overhead roughly equivalent to a trigger on the underlying table) and doing fast refreshes every 15 minutes can be extensive depending on the source system. One of the reasons that Streams came about was to limit this overhead.
    For refresh i execute a cron shell that run the
    DBMS_MVIEW.REFRESH package. my experience with group
    refresh not was goodWhat was your negative experience with refresh groups? I've used them regularly without serious problems. Manual refreshes of individual materialized views against an OLTP system would scare the pants off me because you'd inevitably end up with transactionally inconsistent views of the data (i.e. child records would be present with no parent record, updates that affect multiple tables would be partially replicated until the next refresh, etc). Trying to move that sort of inconsistent data into a different data model, and trying to run reports off that data, would seem highly challenging at a minimum. Throwing everything into a single refresh group so that all the materialized views are transactionally consistent, or choosing a handful of refresh groups for those tables that are related to each other, seems like a far easier way to build a system.

  • How to post the data to a new window and control the new window's property?

    When we submit the form data to another page, we usually do the following:
    <form action="display.jsp" method="post"> will submit the form data and open
    display.jsp in the current browser
    <form action="display.jsp" method="post" target="_blank"> will submit the form data
    and open display.jsp in a new browser
    Now, what I want is to open display.jsp in a new browser, but control the window's size,
    and disable the status bar, title bar, and address bar of a new browser.
    If I do this, it can only open a html page, but not post the data to display.jsp.
    window.open('display.jsp', "newWin", "scrollbars=0,menubar=0,toolbar=0,location=0,status=0");
    any ideas? thanks!!

    With 28 individuals in-house Instrument schedules, a Mission schedule, and 7 external vendors schedules residing on our Local Share Drive network, we have pushed the limits of the External Link Functionality of the MS Project Professional desktop version.
    We are currently constaint to follow one of two options:
    2) Work on the Network Share Drive:
    MS Project crashes due to sheer volume of data (16GB of RAM)
    Very long lead time for the complete IMS to open from share drive.
    Limited productivity as only 1 individual can be in the live file at one time, locking other out.
    2) Work on Local desktop copies
    All files must be copied locally, as slack will not calculate properly unless all file comprising the IMS are on same local macjhine
    Requires a large amount of a coordinated effort to ensure all schedule updates/changes are not lost by overwriting updated files with obsolete files.

    Charles,
    I don't see a question here but it sounds like you need to switch to Project Server.
    Several things are of significant concern with your existing setup. You are using a linked structure. You have multiple users accessing the files, The files are on a network drive. You mention copying files. You mention overwriting files. The worst things
    you can do with a linked structure in Project are, rename, move, overwrite, save off any files in the structure to another location, and work on a network drive. Those all lead to corruption, not if, but when.
    If for some reason Project Server is out of the question, then I suggest you take steps to eliminate each of the items noted above.
    John
