  • Basic System Requirements for running 3rd party samples

    Here's a VSL instruments conundrum.
From what I can see, I've got approximately double the minimum system requirements spelled out by VSL for running Vienna Instruments II. But my system is crashing immediately with only one instrument plugged in.
Here's my full setup and things I've tried so far.
MacBook Pro, 1.86gHZ Dual Core processor, 2G DRAM.
    MOTU Ultralite I/O Interface
    Logic Pro 7.2.4
500Gig 7200 RPM, 8mb cache RAM external Western Digital Hard Drive.
Firewire 400 (the early MacBook Pros from last year didn't have 800).
VSL installer, Logic Pro, and Syncrosoft are the latest updated versions (just bought VSL last week).
Vienna Instruments are installed on the external. Logic Pro and Vienna standalone are installed on the internal computer drive (200G, 40G empty).
Since I only have one firewire slot, I have tried piggy backing the MOTU and the 500G external hard drive both ways (MOTU plugged directly into the computer in front of the HD, with the HD piggy-backed into the MOTU's firewire slot, and the HD in front of the MOTU). No difference in results.
Specific issue: everything works flawlessly until I plug in just one Vienna sample. As soon as I choose it (before playing anything), the system starts to crackle, and even just trying to audition the sample in the AU Standalone taxes the system beyond being able to make a consistent sound. As I touch the "piano keys" in the standalone, most of the time I get no sound, other times I'll get the note accompanied by a lot of crackling. Then when I actually try to play the sample in a Logic Pro track, all sound is hosed. Only solution is to reboot Logic Pro, and 1/3 of the time I have to reboot the computer itself.
This happens whether I have 10 other Logic Pro instruments plugged in or none. One highly optimized Vienna sample by itself hoses the whole system (example - I've tried the Bosendorder optimized to only take up 1MB of RAM - same result including only 20% of the notes playing in the VSL standalone before I even try to play it in a Logic Pro track).
The system requirements spelled out by VSL are about half of what my system has. (VSL calls for a minimum 1G processor and 1G of RAM - I have a 186gHZ Dual Core processor and 2G Ram). I don't mind having to optimize and play some tricks to get 6-10 instruments to play at once, but I can't get a single instrument to run (with double the minimum system requirements).
Spent 2 1/2 full days working on this so far with no progress. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance for your help.

Well, you've managed to start three separate threads about the same thing. This not only fragments all the responses you'll get, but it also limits the search engine for future users experiencing similar problems, looking for solutions.... but hey, it ain't my forum...
I can't help but wonder if having two FW devices on the same bus is causing a bottleneck on the FW buss. Getting an external FW card for your mac might be necessary...keeping the VSL Hard Drive and the MOTU interface on separate busses.
In the meantime, try this... switch your audio driver to "Built-In Audio", so that Logic is using it's internal sound card, not your MOTU. Try loading a VSL instance and playing.
If it works, playing through your computer's speakers, then you've possibly found the trouble.
Have you emailed VSL Tech support yet?

  • What is setting required for Price Contol do the optional entery in master.

    Hi SAP EXPERT,
What is setting required for Price Contol do the optional entery in Material master ?

    HI
In general in the material master record you can, hide display or optional for a field, but there are certain feilds should be mandatory for material creation, like base unit of measure, material description, and price contro,l valuation price, valuation class, without this you cannot create a purchase order.
If you dont want to the price control means go for mateial type  non valuated material NLAG. because the price control is mainly linked with the material  valuation. based on the the price control  the price difference will post either sock account or price difference account.
Goto>MM>LOGISTICS GENERAL>MATERIAL MASTER>FEILD SELECTION >ASSIGN FEILD SELECTION TO FEILD SELECTIN GROUPS(OMSR) >CHECK YOUR FEILD REFERENCE FOR PRICE CONTROL (MBEW-VPRSV) FEILD REFERNCE GROUP IS 32* > AND GOTO MAINTAIN FEILD REFERENCE FOR DATA SCREENS (OMS9) >ENTER  YOUR FEILD SELECTIN GROUP 32 (PRICE CONTROL )AND  CHOOSE MM01 MAKE IT FROM REQUIRED  TO OPTIONAL.
    Thanks

  • OATS CPU does not support the SSE2 instruction set required to run JRockit

    Hello,
I am trying to get the OATS agents to work on some injector machines, however, when I try to start them I get the following error:
"[ERROR] Your CPU does not support the SSE2 instruction set required to run JRockit.
Could not create the Java Virtual Machine."
Is there a way to configure OATs to use the Sun JDK instead? I have the Sun JDK in my path and JAVA_HOME set accordingly, however that doesn't seem to make a difference. Alternatively, is there a workaround to this problem?
    Thanks,
    Michael.

    Hi Tab,
In this case, SQL Server Analysis Services doesn’t support Distributed Transactions by design. Here is a similar thread about this issue for your reference, please see:
    http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/8b07be45-01b6-49d4-b773-9f441c0e44c9/olaplinked-server-error-msolap-for-linked-server-olaplinked-server-does-not-support-the?forum=sqlanalysisservices
One workaround is that use SQLCMD to execute the EXEC AT command and saved the results to a file, then import using SSIS.

    Hi Lionel,
As a general rule of thumb, the ATI Rage 128 Pro will not support a 20" LCD. That being said, there are reports of it doing just that (possibly the edition that went into the cube).
I'm not that familiar with the ins and outs of the Cube, so I can't give you authoritative information on it.

  • How to set required for group of condition type in the same condition class

    Hello,
we have a group of condition type with the same condition class B, the last one have been set, and all of others will be inactive.
but we don't set any required for all the condition types in pricing control, so if user don't set any of them, the sales order or billing is still saved. that is a risk. How can i fix it? Thanks.
    Sophie

    Hello,
incompletion log is not available in invoices.
    You have different options:
    - activate a validation in FI when the Billing document is released into accounting,  so that te release into accounting is not allowed if the invoice amount is zero;
    - define a subtotal in the pricing procedure as sum of the pricing conditions of your group, then develop a custom routine to be assigned in the formula "CalType" (field T683S-KOFRM) where an error should be raised if the amount of the subtotal is zero (use as an example formula 48);

  • Hardware requirement for running exchange 2010 on vmware workstation

Dear Team,I need to create a exchange 2010 sp2 on a guest os on vmware workstation.kindly help me out with the physical hardware requirements for a home user

    Hey Mukund26,
Before I answer your questions, my suggestion would be for you to figure out exactly what you want to get out of running that Exchange lab.  Are you trying to learn Exchange features like DAGs?  Are you trying to learn about virtualizing Exchange?  When you figure that out you'll be better able to answer question 1 since you may not need all of those virtual machines.
Here are my thoughts on your questions.
    1) It is probably technically possible to run 10 virtual machines on the configuration you have but you're going to have pretty bad performance. I would try to trim that down to only the virutal machines that you really need in order to use the lab how you want to use it.  Here are some questions that may help you figure out what you need:
Why do you need two domain controllers?  I don't think you need to worry as much about redundancy in your lab.
Why do you need 2 ESXi hosts and a vCenter?  What purpose do they serve in this configuration?  Are you trying to run the Exchange VMs nested under the ESXi VMs?  If so, why?
Is there a reason why you want to separate out HTS/CAS from MBX in your lab?   Combining all roles together can reduce the number of VMs you need.  If you separate out the roles you'll need to allocate a lot of RAM to support all of those Exchange VMs.
    2)  Running a lot of virtual machines on a single 1TB SATA disk, especially a 5400 RPM disk, is going to be slow.  It'll be especially painful when the VMs are booting up, rebooting, shutting down, etc..  Try to stagger the power on operations so they don't all boot at once.  For example, first boot your DCs, then boot your HTS/CAS, then your MBX, etc.   There is no doubt that configuration will be slow, so if you can get your hands on an solid state drive with enough space you'll have significantly better performance.  For the purposes of a lab, though, it is probably ok if you can be patient.
    3) I think the i5 processor will be just fine for this lab.  Usually in a lab setting CPU performance isn't the most important thing so similar to above as long as you can be a little patient I think that CPU will suit you just fine.
As I said figure out what you want to get out of the lab and then you can determine how many VMs you need and whether or not you want to upgrade hardware.  If you're looking to learn about Exchange 2010 in general I would suggest using multirole servers, getting rid of one of the DCs, and not worrying about virtualizing ESX/vCenter so that you can learn.  If you're looking to learn about virtualizing Exchange 2010 on vSphere then let's figure out exactly what you want to get out of it and figure out what you can learn using VMware Workstation and what you really need vSphere for.
    Best of luck!
    Matt

I was experiencing the same problem. There is probably a mismatch (not the same release) between the ojdbc14.jar and the orai18n.jar. Using http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/tech/java/sqlj_jdbc/htdocs/jdbc_10201.html I downloaded the latest libraries (10.2.0.3) and moved them to the lib directory of my project. This worked for me.
    Good luck!

  • Skill set requirements for SAP E-Sourcing and CLM

    Dear All,
We are about to implement SAP-E-Sourcing 5.1 and CLM 2.0  (on Netweaver Platform). What are the skill sets required to support and do enhancement and customization to this solution?.
    Thanks in advance.
    regds
    velu

    Hi Velu -
E-Sourcing technical consultants will require SQL skills if you are developing custom reports. The E-Sourcing query and reporting tools utilize "annotated" SQL statements the result in a SQL query being executed against the relational database. It is also useful for the report developer to have skills specific to the DBMS being used (for example, Oracle skills) - often times, using DBMS specific SQL constructs can provide improved reporting.
E-Sourcing has a feature called "scripting" that allows custom business logic to be included in the application and executed at various "call-out" points. The scripting feature provided by E-Sourcing uses a technology called BeanShell (see www.beanshell.org for more details on this technology). Beanshell development really requires strong programming skills using Java, although some components of BeanShell may be more like JavaScript. Regardless, I recommend Java expertise for writing E-Sourcing scripts. Knowledge of HTML is not required.
The E-Sourcing workflow capabilities also utilize BeanShell, so if you plan to implement any workflows, you will also require such technical skills.
Many other features of E-Sourcing such as user interface customization can be done with less technical individuals. Programming is not required.
    Hope this is helpful.
    Regards,
    Rob

  • Skill set required for Hyperion environment patching

    Hi all,
Could you please let me know what specific skill set is required for hyperion environment patching?
Does it come under hyperion application administration? Could you please also help me understand the difference between Hyperion application administrator and Hyperion infrastructure administrator?

Is there a reason for asking this question? It all depends on the company to how the role is defined, it is possbile application administrator or infrastructure administrator could be applying patches, usually falls more under an infra role though.
You would usually need product knowledge, the technologies behind EPM and the architecture, OS skills.
    Cheers

  • Licensing requirements for running SBS 2011 in Hyper-V

I am currently running SBS 2011 that is natively installed on a Dell PowerEdge server. The plan is to add some RAM and then convert the system to a Hyper-V server that would run the SBS operating system as a VM. From a licensing standpoint, I realize I will
need to purchase a copy of Server 2012 R2 Standard in order to run Hyper-V on the server. I believe I would also be licensed to run the SBS operating system as one of the two licensed VMs.
My question is what is the requirement as far as user CALs is concerned? Seeing as my users will continue to access the SBS server, they will never access the Server 2012 box directly. The only purpose for Server 2012 is to provide the Hyper-V host. So am
I bound by the user licensing of the SBS server, or am I required to also purchase user CALs for the Server 2012 platform?
Thanks for any insight on this question...

It is always best to talk with a trained Microsoft licensing specialist when asking about licensing questions.  A license is a legal agreement between you and the license issuer.  Relying on information from a technical forum on the internet would
not stand up in a court of law, and your auditors would not like that.
That said, a Windows Server CAL - Client Access License - covers access to Window Server(s).  Whether you have 1 or 100 Windows Server, the client access license grants the right to access the services.  Yes, they are operating system version specific,
but if you are running only the Hyper-V role in the host installation, no CALs are required for the host.  If you are running other services that the clients are accessing, then you would need to purchase the 2012 CALs.  Again - check with a trained
    Microsoft licensing specialist.

  • Convertion of PO to requirement for running MRP

    Dear all,
There is one Plant which creates purchase order and tranfer to another Plant. In the receiving plant the PO will automatically converted as requirement and they will run MRP for that plant.
Please explain me how to convert PO to requirement to run MRP?
    Thanks and Regds
    Sridhara K N

    Hi,
plantA - needs the material from plantB
plantB - buys the material and sens it to plantA
    One possible process:
    1. PlantA creates a STO
    2. PlantA's STO generates requirement in plantB
    3. PlantB runs MRP > creates procurement proposal for the requirement (PR)
    4. PlantB converts the PR to PO
    5. PlantB receives the goods from its supplier (GR against PlantB's PO)
    6. PlantB sends the goods to plantA (GI from plantB)
    7. PlantA receives the goods against STO (GR)
Of course, based on your organisational strucure (purchasing organisation) you can order the goods directly from plantA...

  • System Requirements for Running Cloud at home?

I teach film production and would like to have access to Creative Cloud at home, so I can brush up on all the programs having recently transitioned from Final Cut Pro.     My home computer is pretty basic and its a PC.    What are the minimum system requirements for Hard Drive,  Video Card and Ram?    Do I download the programs onto my pc or do I use them in the cloud, thereby saving my precious, and tiny hard drive?

You misunderstand. Even in Creative Cloud the programs install locally. It's merely a different licensing and distribution model. For the requirements, refer to the producrt pages of the individual products like here:

  • REQUIREMENT FOR RUNNING FORMS ON INTERNET

    hello
sir, my forms are connected to db, and oc4j instance gets started and i am able to run these forms on my nearby client machine, whereas i am not able to run on other clients machine who are away from me i.e. the clients who are 4-5 km distance away from the server, what can be the real problem. pls tell the documentation to be referred for this reason.
    thanks for an early solution.

Do you only have the OC4J component running or did you install the Oracle Application Server? The OC4J Instance that is installed with the Developer Suite is ONLY for running the form on your client/workstation. To "serve" the form to users over a network/internet you must have an Application Server setup to "serve" the application. As to the documentation, it can be found right here on OTN (see following link [Oracle Forms Services 11G Documentation|http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/forms/index.html]).
If you are running an earlier version than 11G, then select the appropriate link on this page to the version you are using eg; 10g R2, 10g R1, etc.
    Hope this helps.
