Batch Determination/Splitting Error

Unable to issue goods (DO) due to materials not having enough quantity for specific batch. Upon viewing the batch determination of the material there is available quantity of that specific material.

Goto Tcode MSC2N enter ur material and the batch no. and plant u r sing in ur sales order .
check there is two radio buttons in Basic data 1 tab . If the radio button of Batch restricted is checked please uncheck the same -> save it and try again .
if radio button of unrestricted is check , please check enough stock is there in that perticular batch in that perticular plant for a perticular material .
If not please create stock in Tcode MB1C Movment type 561 .

The characteristics you used to configure the product in the sales order are passed dynamically during run time as selection criteria to determine a matching class and that's where the problem is happening.
Sit with an ABAPer to debug and find out what's the issue. Your focus for this activity should be on the following includes to Program SAPLV01F:
LV01FFC1
and
LV01FM01
More specifically, test the following Function Modules with your live data to figure out which one is failing:
CLO0_DDB_OBJ_VALUATION_OPEN
CTMS_DDB_HAS_CHARACTERISTICS
CTMS_DDB_HAS_VALUES
CTMS_DDB_DEL_VALUE
CTMS_DDB_SET_VALUE_INTERNAL

Auto batch determination from PO to Delivery

Hi,
I have created a PO and entered the Batch manually. While creating the delivery for the PO the batch is automatically determining. But the delivery doc has imcompletion because of batch determination check error noticed. After I deleted the batch in PO while creating the delivery again the batch is determined and dely doc also no incompletion found. Please anyone let me know what is the like between PO and delivery doc of auto batch determination.

What you are referring to looks like a stock transfer process. Batch is determined automatically based on the Batch search strategy defined. It can be checked in transaction VCH3.
Ensure that the stock transfer quantity is available in the supplying plant and the batch qty is available in unrestricted use.

Error In Batch Determination

Hello,
I have configured Batch Determination Only for Inventory Management as follows:
-Created Characteristic for SLED
-Class
-Sort Sequence
And assigned them in "Startegy type"
-Strategy Type was created (from copying Standard)
and assigned to "Search Procedure"
This search procedure is assignd to Movement type
Defination of Initial Batch creation for Movement Type is also maintained as - Automatic/manual without Chk.
Batch Classification for Goods movement is activated for MvT- 101 & 561
with indicator 3.
Classification is also maintained in Material Master
Still getting WARNING message while doing Goods Reciept using MvT-561
as follows:
{ Invalid batch according to selection criteria in batch determination
Message no. LB051
Diagnosis:
This batch is not allowed according to the selection criteria assigned to it. The specifications for the batch entered do not match the selection criteria from batch determination.
Procedure:
Check selection criteria for the Transaction}
I just want to determine batches on their SLED
So that when i will issue this batch tht time i can find batch according to shortest SLED.
Can anybody help me????

- Define Inventory management Condition - T.code is OMA1 (Optional)
- Define Acess Sequence (SPRO --> Logistic General ---> Batch management ---> Batch Determination and batch check ---> Access Sequences --> Define Inventory Management Access Sequences (Optional)
- Define Strategy Type :- Logistic General ---> Batch management ---> Batch Determination and batch check --->Strategy Types ---> Define Inventory Management Strategy Types
- Define Batch Search Procedure :- Logistic General ---> Batch management ---> Batch Determination and batch check ->Batch Search Procedure Definition--> Define Inventory Management Search Procedure
- Batch Search Procedure Allocation and Check Activation - T.code OMCG
Now in this T. code if you activate check box for Check Batch then system will throw an
error or warning massage in case of wrong Batch Assignment during Manual Batch allocation.
And I think you are finding the same error (LB051) Correct?
Prerequisites at Master Level
- Material Should be batch managed.
- Batch Class with Characteristic LOBM_VFDAT should be maintained in Material Master
- Create Sort Rule with T.code CU70 (FEFO - First expire First Out)and assign Characteristic LOBM_VFDAT with Ascending rule.
- Create Batch Search Strategy using T.code MBC1 and assign above created Sort rule and batch Class to it.
and if you want to allow more than batches in case of Sort qty then assign no. Batch Spli(Max. allow batch Split is 999)
- Most Important Shelf Life Data should be maintain in all the concern Batches.

please open this prd order in change mode CO02 then press tab button cost calculation near release button in order header screen now do not save this order go to edit >log> cost calculation
There it will show the error tht occured during costing

BDC FOR VL02N FOR Batch DETERMINATION --ERROR IN BACKGROUND

HI,
I am running a BDC in Background Mode for VL02N Transaction for Batch Determination. When i run this BDC in Foreground its working Fine, But when i use Background Mode its not working.
Error in Messtab : LIPS-POSNR(1).
Flow is like : Vl02n - enter delivery..then select a material in that delivery and click on batchdetermination.
So its giving me error in LIPS-POSNR(1).
Can u suggest something..

Check whether proper ok-code has been assigned to the line to be selected in back ground, in foreground as there is always a manual intervention,we will never come to know these kind of trivial issues,

Error in Batch determination in STO delivery

Hello Gurus,
When i m doing batch determination in STO delivery, system is throwing error "Batch determination is not possible because there is no search procedure."
I think search procedure is assigned to sales doc types. Please correct me if i m wrong. This is working fine in case of normal sales cycle(Order-delivery-Billing). As the scenario is STO, the delivery is made against PO so this should not be reason for this error.
Also i have maintained Auto batch deter. at delivery item category level, but still getting the same error.

I have the same issue with my stock replenishment deliveries. One question I have is what module should the configuration be for Auto Batch Determination on deliveries from STPO's, is it SD or MM? The reason I ask is because I have the SD side working just fine for example if I enter a customer order for this material and issue a delivery against it I get a batch automatically assigned according to your search/sort criteria. I know with a Stock Transport you have different item categories etc. and I have flagged them as relevant for ABD. I have been racking my brain regarding this and I have went through the configuration for both Inventory Management and Sales and Distribution. I have went through the steps several times. I am not seeing what I am missing any help in this arena would be helpful I am getting the following error message when I go to the batch tab on the replenishment delivery "Batch determination is not possible because there is no search procedure". I am at a loss to what configuration is needed. I keep going through the steps and I am not finding whats missing. Any help in this area would be most grateful.

We are in process of upgradation to ECC 6.0 and while doing unit testing of production order cycle while doing component batch determination i am facing a Runtime error .Has any body gone through upgradation phase and come across such error .If so plz guide me regarding it .

Post the error shown by SAP ... then we can suggest something.. Apart from this please check that in older version was there any exit or custom development was used for the batch determination. Sometimes during SPDD & SPAU in upgradation we miss some object which causes this type of issues

        While posting the goods issue(PGI) i am facing the following error

Here batch determination should happen automatically with serial nos generated at the time of goods receipt.
I have checked the batch configuration, where in i have not noticed any configuration missing.

Error in automatic batch determination in delivery

Hello Experts,
I have an outbound delivery created for a STO.
The issue is the batch is not getting detected automatically in the delivery and i have to manually enter the batch.
I have checked in SPRO and automatic batch determination is activated for delivery item category.
Can anyone please guid what further i need check to have the batch being automatically detected.

Since the delivery is related to STO, pls check the following config settings.
1. spro-->logistics general->batchmanagement->batach der and batch check->batch search procedure
allocation and check activation->allocate sd procedure/activate check.
(Before performing the below steps define the strategy type and assign the strategy type to procedure)

For automtatic batch determination assign the search strategy with batch check indicator in OPL8 transaction for order types. And in transaction OPJ2 enable the indicator BD (batch determination) for order type.
Batch splits can only be triggered manually in the production order. For this the material master record of the material must specify that the material is managed in batches and batches must exist for the material. You can split the batches in order from change mode by selecting the opeartions and go to split the batch..you will get the pop-up for all existing batches then here you can assign the quantities for the operation from batches and save.
No automatic batch splits in production orders.

while doing order confirmation at header level , when i went to goods movement , inside that i have selected the material to be issued to production which should undergo 261 movement which is batch managed -
and clicked on
batch determination button -
it is showing the error
"no search strategy could be found "

but in SPRO i have maintained all the relevant settings
where exactly i have missed the settings and what and all i have to check if some one can help it would be appreciated

as i decided to do batch determination during confirmation , as adviced by you , i
went to MBC1 -
used strategy type ME01used key combination "movement type /plant/material"given inside movement type 261 , materail "child part of header "(raw material ) and in no.of splits 999.--saved
then went to batch search procedure definition -selected ME0001inside the control data given condition type ME01
then went to allocate IM procedure and activate check
against the movement typw 261 --given search procedure ME0001 and put tick mark in the check box "check batch "
now tried for batch determination during confirmation
it has thrown the error
"STRATEGY CONTAINS NO SELECTION SPECIFICATIONS"

if i see the log it is displaying the third one in red ,remaining in blue

3.Strategy contains no selection specifications
4.Availability of batches...

         am i missing any thing ? any area i missed in class and characteristics ? that i ahve defined and the class is attached to material through CL20N

Batch determination based on fifo during goods issue

Hi All,
My client requirement is that system should propose automatic batch during goods issue based on goods receipt.
I have activated batch wise split valuation.
I have maintained characterstics with MCH1 table and HSDAT.
Assigned to class and class is assigned to stratergy type.
Created sort sequence and sort rule ascennding.
Assigned this to stratergy type.
Maintained condition record also.
During goods issue to production system is not proposing the batch based on gr date.
System is not stopping me while making goods issue with other batch.
Please guide to fix the above issue.

Split valuation has nothing to do with this problem.
I hope you do not just require the sequence for physical goods issue to be FIFO because your year end valuation will be FIFO method, as this is not necessary for FIFO valuation.

here you set the box for batch check active, which means if a batch is entered manually then this batch is checked against the batch determination and an error is issued if the wrong batch is entered.

Batch determination in Process Order

Hi Guys
I am doing the automatic batch determination on the process order release. It gets rejected and the error is CO 691: You must enter the batch for material 1025301
Now when I do the manual batch determination in the process order. On clicking the batch determination button I get the message: No Check exist for planning (item: 0010, mat: 1025301) message number C2119.
Can you guys please advice how to resolve this error please!

You are right. I am not getting batches with zero stock.
By inadequate stock, I mean, say, for a raw material, I find from MMBE 1.448 kgs are there in the unrestricted and 1.448 kgs in reserved for the batch. When I check in the material list of the process order, total 9200 kgs are booked by the batch. How is this possible?
Does the system cannot do the batch splitting automatically. Because everytime it is not possible to calculate the remaining stock and enter it manually in the order.

1. Can anyone list the pros and cons of having batch determination done in the sales order instead of at the time of delivery creation? Please describe in detail and do not just copy and paste the SAP standard explanations. Experiences are very welcome.
2. If I do batch determination in sales order, how do I make sure that the specific batch is there for delivery? In the ATP there is no such filed to include or exclude batches for a material, so I wonder - how is the batch reserved when entering it in the sales order? Please describe the reservation mechanisms if any.

We Can proceed with Batch Determination at sales order there is nothing wrong in it. The Batch that you determine at the order level remains the same in delivery. The batch gets copied in the delivery level.
1. You cannot change the Batches at Delivery level.
2. Batch Split is not possible at Order level. (Since BAtch split CHSP is available only at Delivery level)

Based on Copy controls the Batches that you have mentined at order level gets copies to Delivery. you cannot chenge the batch.
That is the reason why we proceed with Batch management at Delivery process, wherein we can choose the Batch Manually OR Go for Automatic Batch.
You can also perform Batch Split, Choose the Materials from the batch. that's having stock.

We activate the Batch Management Indicator in The Material master - Sales: General data View. and proceed with Batch configuration in Logistics General. The Batch concept is managed by three modules MM,SD and PP. So its an integration point.
In the case you have suggested that Batch will be carried from Sales order, now the stocks are created in batches and stored in storage location. so the batch should exists before you raise an order then only you can confirm.
If no Batches are aintained and you are trying to enter batch in sales order it will throw an error stating "No Batches Maintained".
If Batches are there for the material then it will be assigned. If batches are not existing then it will throw an error as explained above.
