Batch Tracking

Hi Expert,
How can I track the original and received batch when performing MT 309. My scenario is to transfer Material A with batch X to Material A with batch Y. What report or functionality to track the batch?
Best regards,

  • Vendor Batch Tracking

    Dear Sir
    For Getting Vendor Batch Tracking
We are have adopted a Process in our company as below.
    1) @ Inward entry (105 nmovement ) an internal Batch will be created.
    2) @Quality clearance(qa32) the item is being moved to unrestricted  stock by selecting the  option  "New material", and by giving the same material code & entering new manual batch(Vendor batch) we are moving it into the stock .
So internal batch will be a parent batch in our premises for tracking the Vendor batch.
But the  problem we are facing in this procedure is
the vendor batches we are getting is 15 to 18 characters but internal or external batch number is only of 10 characters.
Does the poblem will be solved with document batch adoption.
So kindly please suggest a new procedure or any adoptabl;e condition to overcome my problem.
    Regards
    Chaitanya

    Hi,
You should use Vendor Batch field (MCHA-LICHA) under Trading Data Info in Basic data1 of Batch Master record in order to store Vendor Batch tracking. This field has 15 length character. So if you need to have more character you should go for text field only.

  • Item Batch tracking issue

    Hi,
I have an item with quantity on hand zero but when I am looking at the batch tracking that item shows with a batch number and qty yet the warehouse screen shows zero qty on hand and item is not batch tack at this time. I am trying to change the item to batch track so I can do an adjustment to take the batch out but system does not allow me to change it to batch track. How can I delete or remove the batch qty.
    Tkx

    Hi,
You may need to restore the item balance.  However, this function can only be run under SAP support direct instruction.  You should not run it by yourself.
    Thanks,

  • Batch tracking and material usage analysis

how do we track the batches and material usage analysis in case of any customer complaint?

You can use the reports BMBC, MB56, MCRE, MCRX.
If you want to track by batch wise then batch traceability report MB56.
    Hope this helps you.

  • Batch track rename?

My iTunes has used the CDDB to get (nonsense) track info on a 16-CD boxed set. Even uninstalling iTunes and deleting the Library doesn't erase this info (anyone know where it's stored?).
I guess I'm going to have to rename the tracks (I just want Track 1, Track 2 ...), but there are about 1000 of them. Is there any way to automate this?

    "Getting too complicated."
Not really, but it may increase....
"All I want to do is delete the data downloaded from CDDB"
No. You want to delete the CDDB data and replace it with something else in order to define each file uniquely.
"surely it can't be that hard?"
Think about it. If you erase all the file Name information, what are you going to have in its place? The PC needs to differentiate between files. iTunes labels the song files by Name. A 'Null' name won't work. At least, not for more than one file.
Even a tagging program may not help in this. Your best bet may be to re-import the files from the original CDs. Before doing so, either physically disconnect your PC from the Internet, or temporarily disable the service via the Network Connections function within Windows. That way, you'll retain the 'Track 01', 'Track 02' Names.

  • Stocking multiple items on various pallets qty(not really Units of Measure)

I have a customer who produces items in boxes. The boxes are what the items are stocked in.
During production the boxes are packed on pallets; some pallets hold 32 boxes, the other pallets hold 48.
The customer doesn't want to have two different stock items.
The problem is that for some of their customers they need to send them the large pallets and for others they need to send the smaller pallets.
Everything is batched tracked, so I was thinking of using an attribute on the batch.
Perhaps the up coming multi UoM would work, or would I be better off with a warehouse module?
    Any ideas anyone?

    Hi,
For easier control, adding itemcode is the best way because they are physically in different pallet, right?
However, if your customer insist one item only, you may need a UDT to hold all BP with related pallet size. In this way, you can assign the right pallet to the right BP through FMS.
    Thanks,

  • How to nill available quantity??

    need 0 in available???

    Hi Vinayak Chavan,
Every organisation with inventory would be required to have at least a stock take once a year. In this blog, we will step through the process of how to perform a stocktake in SAP Business One.
The process of a stocktake is as follows:
    1. Print out the stock status from the system
    2. Perform the physical count of the items and record the quantities found
    4. Record the quantity of each item into the system
    5. If variances occur, post the stock difference.
    In SAP Business One:
Select [Initial Quantities, Stocktaking and Stock Posting] from the [Stock Management]->[Stock Transactions]
    SAP Business One Stock Take
    Select the [Stocktaking] tab.
    SAP Business One Stock Take
You can further refine the stock take process by selecting:-
    - A range of item codes by entering the item codes in the {From} and {To} fields
    - Selected suppliers by entering the supplier code in the {From} and {To} fields
    - An item group
    - A range of item properties
If nothing has been selected, it will select all item codes.
    The stocktaking screen will appear.
    SAP Business One Stock Take
You can show the quantity of each item by un-checking the “Hide Quantity Stored” check box.
    SAP Business One Stock Take
You can print the stock take list or export to Excel by clicking on the Excel button.
Example of the Stock Take printout
    SAP Business One Stock Take
    PERFORMING THE STOCKTAKE
In this example, I will be taking a select list of items only (One increase in stock, no changes and one decrease in stock).
Enter the quantity of the stock counted (total amount for that particular stock item)
    SAP Business One Stock Take
    In the above example:
Item        A00001                  has increased from 866 to 870
    Item        A00002                  has not changed
Item        A00003                  has decreased from 980 to 970
Do note that the [Hide Quantity Stored] check box has been “unticked” to display the Stock in the Warehouse. Also notice that once you have entered the new quantity of the stock, the [Counted] check box is automatically ticked.
Continue to enter all of the items that have been counted into this screen.
Once you have entered all counted items, click on the [Update] button
    SAP Business One Stock Take
Then click on the  button to return to the following screen:
    SAP Business One Stock Take
Next click on the [Stock Posting] tab
    SAP Business One Stock Take
    Ensure that the correct warehouse has been selected and the {Price Source for Whse Stock Posting}
    SAP Business One Stock Take
Enter some Reference and Details and note the GL Accounts the differences are being posted to.
    SAP Business One Stock Take
    In the above example:
Item        A00001                  has a difference of +4 and an item cost of 298.65
    Item        A00002                  has not changed
Item        A00003                  has a difference of -10 and an item cost of 264.09
Note that for any increase you can change the Item Cost but if there is any decrease, the item cost is not editable. If you need to make changes to the item cost for any decrease items, you need to do a revaluation first before returning back to this screen.
If there are items that are Serial or Batch track, the Serial Number transaction or Batch Setup screen will appear to enter the serial numbers or batch numbers respectively.
A variance report can be produced to review the stock cost differences due to the stock take which can also be exported to Excel by clicking on the Excel button.
    SAP Business One Stock Take
Select [Reconcile] when you are ready to post the transactions and complete the Stock Take process in SAP Business One.
    SAP Business One Stock Take
You can check the Journal Entry created by going to the Journal Entry module.

  • Batch to Batch Transfer and Tracking

    Question,
Since Batch to batch material transfer is possible using SAP standard functionality.
On my floor, the raw material i am consuming is batch managed and causing accounts error and negative stock due to wrong batch no. posting at the time of Co11.
due to requirement of our customers, our plant must run with proper tracking of each batch, means finish goods to raw material (specific batch) relation should be there in system.
If I maintain back flush function for BOM components in such a way that I always consume raw material from one batch (xxx) from production S-LOG. what i will do, I will refill that particular batch -xxx by transfer material from batch zzz (by batch to batch transfer) when needed to back flush.
Back flush will happen always from one batch which will reduce accounts error and negative stock generation.
Question is, will i be able to track and can built relation of raw material batch zzz and product FG?
if yes how? if no then what could be the solution for this problem.
    Mr.Daar

    Hi,
I think you're scenario is going little bit complex by doing transfer postings batch to batch this is very complex you know each time you have to do suppose if you have huge raw materials it leads to complexity any have for this point I can say is
while transferring the batches from XXX to ZZZ you give reference production order number in the material slip or document header text so that you can track the batches to which production order you have transferred.
in MSEG table you can trace the consumption of raw materials based on the Production order
and with 309 movement type you can trace the batch transfers I thing you have to develop a report for this.

  • How to get batch recognition of (!) on some tracks after moving library from external hard drive to new iMac (with terabyte hard drive)?

    I'm using Lion 10.7.2 and iTunes 10.5.2
I have moved my iTunes music from an external hard drive onto my new iMac (with a terabyte hard drive) with music folder organized - when I try to play some tracks I get the iTunes can't locate warning and so I follow through and show iTunes the track - they are all in the music folder on my iMac hard drive - they all copied over and they all appear in the iTunes library list - so far as I can tell out of a 500 gigabyte music collection - but there are so many giving me the error - many other tracks function as they should too, some work others don't - So I'm looking for a way to get all the error tracks fixed in a batch correction way. Doing this individually with each track just isn't realistic.
Can anyone suggest how I might fix this issue?
Also, after I show iTunes the song location and it plays, I get a find files prompt that looks like it wants to find other files, but that just causes the process to jam and I have to force quit iTunes and then it doesn't remember what I last showed it next time I open iTunes.
Also I'm trying to avoid the use of the consolidate function because that would copy a whole other set of music - not in iTunes - that is in the process of being edited (audio hijack pro and fission tools being used to put vinyl and tapes to mp3) But all that other music just means the consolodate function across my whole computer would be too much.

Some details seem to be coming into focus - I have started scrolling through the main library list A to Z repairing tracks individually (there are thousands, but it's what works so far) - as I work through, it appears the problem occurred on tracks where album artist metadata was different than song artist metadata, predominantly. I'm not sure that is 100% the case in every instance, but that is what it's looking like. I don't why that happened, must be some technical glich I guess.
Also, I tried running Doug's Scripts - the one titled, iTunes Track CPR v1.3 - it is supposed to fix exactly the kind of issue I'm having - I bet it would work for some people with a similar issue - but for my case it only identifies the 'de-linked' tracks and doesn't repair them - that is at least helpful as I scroll though to fix them - I can see exactly which tracks have the issue quickly after running that script - but iTunes doesn't remember that warning symbol after a log-out, so it's only worth running the script on a set of tracks I intend to review and fix in any given session at a time.
If you are interested, Doug's free scripts can be found at
    http://dougscripts.com/itunes/scripts/ss.php?sp=itunestrackcpr
there are other interesting and useful iTunes scripts there too...
also, unrelated to the issue I'm having, I found a lot of really useful and time saving metadata fixing free scripts at - hubi's iTunes scripts - the page isn't English, but the script download is easy to find -
hubi's scripts work for batch selections of tracks - so if you import an album and find the metadata screwed up somehow, you can select the whole set of screwed up tags at once (even across a series of albums), run the easy to use script, and watch it all be fixed automatically while you sit back and relax...
    http://hubionmac.com/wordpress/category/softwareschmiede/applescripting/itunes/
just for reference, here is a sampling of what hubi's scripts can do...
there are other useful scripts out there - the tough part can be finding the one that helps you...
    01-(un)capitalizes
    01-(un)capitalizes
This script changes.... THIS TEXT into This Text... or this text
    01-Delete spaces
Sometimes invisible blanks are behind an artist name or album name...this script deletes these blanks behind or infront of the strings
    01-Delete x first-last chars. of Title
A Name like "01--Ray Of Light" will be changed to "Ray Of Light" and the01 will be entered in the tracks tracknumber id3 field =)
    01-fix combined Artist-Title
    Sometimes Tracknames look like:
"Madonna---Ray of Light" and in the artist field you see something like"Ripped by Me"... this script puts Madonna back to the right field... all youhave to do is to enter the right delimiter ("---" in this case)
    01-switch Artist<->Title...
Switch ID3 field a with ID3 field b (not only Artist with Title any more =)!
    01-z_filename ->Title
Sets the ID3 field Title to the track's filename)
    01-z_trackNr-Filename->ID3
When a track's filename look like "01-Madonna-Ray of Light.mp3" andyou don't have the track's tracknumber stored in the ID3 Tag... this Scriptcan do this for your =)

  • Track the changes to the batch jobs in the PRD system.

    Hello Basis Guru's,
Need your help in a Query. --> Is there any best practice that can be implemented to trace all the changes done to batch jobs in the past 3 months and going forward. Be it in its scheduling or its variant changes etc, i would like to track the changes to the batch jobs in the PRD system.
Any pointers would be really helpful.
    Thanks in advance.
    Rgds,
    Sri

    Hello Raghu,
Third party tools can only help you but not SAP. . A lot of us may think that for example if a Job 'X' runs daily then SAP considers this job as a single object. However actually SAP will treat each run of a job seperately infact as seperate jobs. If you would have noticed each job in SAP has a job id which is unique. So actually each run is unique. Now change logs can exist for only those objects that get changed. But change logs can not exist for objects that are newly created everytime !!
If you would have noticed you can two jobs with the name A but running two different reports/variants whatver. This is because job name is not that important it is the job id.
Every time a job runs a new entry gets stored in TBTCO,TBTCP etc.. tables. It is not that the existing entires are updated. However yes when a job is scheduled periodically there is some kind of a link that is created in the job series but it does not showo up in any of the tables!!
As far as 3rd party tool is concerned I can name a tool like UC4. UC4 has its own database in which the job name will always be unique. For that you can easily find change logs. I think Chronicle (Redwood Scheduler) also supports this.
    Regards.

    Hi Experts,
There is a requirement where in it is required to track changes in the field 'Batch' in the deliveries. This change log report should have the option of checking the log for multiple deliveires at a time. It can be similar to the delivery change log report that we have but shoul run for multiple deliveries at a time.
Please let me know if such a reporet is available in standard SAP or in LIS repporting.

The only one that can serve your purpose is LT23.
Choose the "rainbow" icon and select by material and batch.
If you need help with selection screen feel free to ask... but it should be straight forward for SAP user.
Execute with all the right selections.
You will get a list of all the transfer orders which were used for that material/batch.
In the right part of TO details, you'll see storage bins, there are the ones that the material/batch have stayed in your warehouse...
