Battery information not very accurate
I just bought a new 2013 MacBook Air and the "Time Remaining" battery info has not been very accurate. The "Time Remaining" will continually jump around a few hours. It will read something like 13 hours remaining then I'll look again and it will 17 hours. The battery is on its third cycle.
Is this normal?
It adjusts its estimate of remaining run time based on the load on the machine. As the load fluctuates, the estimate will fluctuate. It is also normal for a new battery to take a few (partial) cycles for the meter to settle down a bit and give more reliable estimates of capacity and run time.

I haven't used this laptop for about 5 weeks.
I plugged it in it started charging from 27% up to 80% like normal.
Then it was slow to charge the next few percent. It got to about 83%

The battery report shows it's fine. The battery is not very old and only shows 39 cycles.
What should I try?sounds like a bad battery. you could try running a cycle on it. let it discharge completely and then charge it up. see if there's any change. being that it didn't charge to 100% and it took a long time to get to 83% sounds like there's a problem with the battery.

I cannot use battery information when i upgrade kernel
Today I performed Pacman _Syu. I upgraded my arch linux kernel to 3.0.6-1.
I rebooted my arch system. After that, my arch system printed the error.
"Battery information not supported by your kernel!"
I try downgrading kernel to 3.0.4-2 and was able to use battery information again.
What is solution of not available latest kernel in my system?
My PC is ACER ASPIRE 1410.The reason for the error message is probably the ONFIG_ACPI_PROCFS_POWER option, that was removed from the newest kernel. See FS#25845.
What application is giving you this error? Perhaps there is an update available for it?
Otherwise you could recompile the kernel yourself with the option set. -
Just recently bought a brand-new iPod touch, 5th generation. To be exact, got it two days ago, this past Saturday, on 12/13/2014. Initially, when I first turned it on, it had a fully charge and I didn't need to charge it. I also didn't see anything in the very small and limited start-up guide you receive with it to charge it for a certain amount of time before use, or to use it until the battery dies, then charge all the way, like a lot of electronic devices have you do when you first purchase them.
So I was assuming I didn't need to do anything like that. First question, should I have charged it for a period of time before use? Should I have used it until the battery died, then plugged it in and charged it fully before use? Or is none of this necessary initially and iPod batteries are good to go from the start?
Please excuse me if this is an obvious question, as this is my first ever iPod. Anyways,like I said, nothing in the "instructions" said anything about that, so I didn't do it, I just used it until it got below 20% battery left, then I plugged it in.
Now for the battery itself, it takes literally a day or so to fully charge, even while not in use. Even if I use it for a while, turn off the iPod to make sure it shuts off all background data and apps, and then plug it in to charge, it still charges extremely slowly. I've never seen a device take this long to charge. As for the battery life itself, I'd say at full charge it lasts about 4-5 hrs, maybe 6, and then I have to charge it again. Meanwhile it takes around 24 hours, without me using it, to fully charge. If I use it while its charging, the battery decreases faster than it charges, and eventually I'll get the typical "20% battery remaining" message pop up.
I know it is charging, as the lightning symbol is next to the battery symbol. Specifically, right now, I plugged it in about 1 hr 30 minutes ago, and it has barely gone up. Also, whenever I press the home button to check the battery, I can see it jump down from about 50% to somewhere around 25%-30%. What is that about?
This is really frustrating, and I'm seriously contemplating either taking it back and trying my luck with a different iPod, or just taking it back and getting my money back. Any help and clarification on this matter would be greatly appreciated, and I'll answer any questions I can to shed more light on this.It will take longer to charge the 5G's battery than either the 3G or 4G's battery.

hello my name is kirstie, i updated to firmware 4.2.1 .....my iphone 3g stays on the apple logo for about 4 minutes then flashes white and goes back to the apple screen, it repeats untill battery is flat, every now and then im lucky enough to get it to turn on but not very often and then it freezes and repeats the same problem?? I have reset the phone, full firmware restore, even downgraded back from firmware 4.2.1 to .3.1.3 official by using dfu mode and still doesnt fix.
(i correctly got out of dfu mode after the downgrade)
i can enter dfu mode and recovery, and update through itunes with no problem, but it doesnt fix the problem,
i have searched and found no answer to this problem, every option availible to try that i know of i have tried and failed. i dont care about preserving my content i just want a fix. i have a good understanding how to operate software on a computer and shouldnt be too confused by any advice given, so plz even if the answer is very complex i wish to try anything, please help me to get my iphone working.Anyone have any suggestions? or is everyone else just as clueless as me !

I am looking at buying a MacBook Air over the Pro mainly for the 12 hour battery. Just wondering if battery is compromised by upgrading to 8mb and upgrading to I7 Intel dual core. I am not very tech savvy so apologies if dumb question
If both computers were configured identically, then they would both lose the same amount of battery life with respect to the same starting configuration - comparing apple to apples. I don't know how much the added RAM, etc. would reduce battery life, but it would be less for both models.
Battery life is a tricky subject because most mfgr.s like to suggest as long a life as possible, but often do so under a set of conditions that are not common to most users. Apple is no different. Their computers do have good battery life, however. But not likely as long as what is in the ads for the typical user. -
ever since I upgraded to ios 7, my battery life is very short. I do not use the ipad all that much and have to charge it twice as much as before. I have been on the phone to Apple 3 times and turned off a number of things that I am not using and now power it off more regularly but still not happy with battery life. It is less than a year old and as I said, I don' t use it all that much
My best bet would be to restore the phone. Back it up to itunes, and then reset it Factory settings. This way, any corrupt software will be removed, and you can start fresh. Make sure you back it up first. By the sounds of it, you are using the phone for business and probably need the data from it. Hope this helps!

My WiFi is not working on my ipod touch third gen. The wifi option in setting is blanked out so i am unabole to select it. I have tried restored it and resetting network connections. Also the battery life is very low. How do i fix this????????????
If a restore did not fix it, you have a hardware issue--possible bad wi-fi radio.

Auditor reports not reporting accurate login information

The Auditor infrastructure and activity universe appears to be intact.
However all the auditor reports are not showing accurate information.
For instance the report showing user logins is not reporting all logins
for March and much of Feb. When I am sure there had been logins in
these months.
I looked at the ProdAuditDB audit_event table it has number of records
from these months with blank user_name. I am not sure if this is the
cause. But just FYI.
Any ideas what might be the reason or better yet how to fix it.

Are you able to receive any mail at all? If not, make sure that all of your information for mail is accurate in settings again. if you still have nothing, go to your email through safari. (example: www.yahoo.com) If you do not see the emails here either, it is a problem with the password reset server not your mail app.

I have an IPOD Classic 30GB. It would not stay on but a few seconds so I thought the battery was not recharging and bought a new battery. I charged the new battery overnight and when I turned it on I could see the apple for only a few seconds and it would go off. I tried the trouble shooting suggestions and reset the device. The screen is frozen with the message "Please Wait. Very low battery." I also thought it might be a problem with the display but since it is on now, I'm not sure what is going on with it.

Firmware version 5.0.1 is up to the iPhone battery runs out very well in normal use. I have not used it a lot.
yes it happen with iphone but u can resolve the problem of draining battery
1.try to off the all apps correctly by pressing the home button twice and hold the app untill wingle and then click on - opption
2. turn off your bluetooth all the time if not needed
3. turn on 3G when needed

Did all the updates that Apple requested in my 64 GB IPOD and the battery continues discharging very quickly. When this problem will be solved, because before these updates were downloading not the battery so quickly. Did we revive the Steve Jobs to resolve the problem, because each update only worsens the operation. I look forward to a quick, effective and definitive solution. Thank You. Ester
