Battery state not updating

ok so I'm running arch linux on my laptop (Lenovo IdeaPad 510 G) and I've got a problem wit my battery, it doesn't update it's state to power managers (meaning that both xfce power manager and batti get an initial reading when I turn my laptop on but then they stop updating the battery state, so if I start my laptop with 100% battery that is what they will show for the whole session even if it drops to 1%), I've checked the wiki and tried using acpi, neither the battery nor the ac modules run but when I use acpi -i I do get my correct battery state.
I'm starting to run out of ideas here, has anyone faced this kind of problem before?

This is due to a recent upower update. upower 0.99 uses a whole new set of api's which means that all the power managers need to be updated to work with it. I had the exact same issue on MATE but mate-power-manager got patched yesterday which fixed the issue. Until xfce4-power-manager is patched, you'll need to use an alternative battery applet that does work with the new upower (if there is one) or downgrade to an older version of upower. Here's the link if you want to downgrade: http://seblu.net/a/arm/2014/03/31/extra/os/x86_64/
EDIT: Don't bother downgrading upower. The issue has already been reported: https://bugs.archlinux.org/task/39893
and a new version of xfce4-power-manager which fixes the issue is in the testing repo: https://www.archlinux.org/packages/test … r-manager/

    I updated BIOS to v1.15 - still no solution. I have, however, found out why I can't see if the battery is charged or not. Appearantly, Acer is not using the standard ACPI spec. Just look at this:

  • 2610 signal & battery state not visible

    The display on my 2610 is difficult to see in bright light. I have set contrast to maximum and selected the basic theme to get black on white however the battery state and signal strength bars are still in light blue which is impossible to see in bright light. How do I change the colour of the bars to black?

    go to display settings and you can select diff colours
    If  i have helped at all a click on the white star below would be nice thanks.

  • Battery status not updating

    I have recently replaced the battery for my IPhone5 after a crash. After that the battery status indicator is not dynamically updating. It updates only after every restart. I tried resetting all settings, updated to recent IOS7.1, restored several times. But of no use. Please guide.

    Hi,
    I have the same problem with my now replaced iPhone 3G with iOS4...
    I have this problem, when I charge my iPhone 3G with the charger, that was supplied with my iPad. And also the problem can only be solved, when rebooting the phone.
    When charging, the symbol shows the "flash"-sign in the battery to show, that the iPhone is charging and the symbol changes to the wall-connector-symbol, after the iPhone has fully charged. But when disconnecting the charger, the battery-symbol still shows empty, until I reboot.
    The problem occurs with the iPad charger, but it does not occur, when charging the iPhone inside my "JBL radial" soundspeaker-system.
    So I think about a bug in iOS4

  • Battery status not updating when jacked

    With the latest update to iOS4 (4.01 is it?) I noticed something that's really bothering me.
    Whenever I charge my iPhone via a wall jack, the battery status image, both on the lockscreen and up in the corner, is frozen. If I was in the red it will stay the same.
    The only way I can see if the phone is charged is the fact that the small image up in the corner changes to show the wall plug as usual. However if I unplug the phone, it still shows an empty battery.
    This is solved by rebooting my iPhone.
    Also note that this does NOT happen if I charge it through my PC or MacBook USB ports.
    Why is this happening and how do I solve it?

  • Battery Apps not updating on lockscreen

    Hey everyone...
    I have been using my Lumia 620 for a month now. But, I still haven't understood one thing.
    I tried installing around 3-4 Battery apps so that I can see my battery status on the lockscreen. None of them update themselves, even after many hours.
    However, when I keep my data or wifi connection ON, I can see them updating every 30 min.
    So, my questions are:
    1. Do all battery apps require internet to update battery status on lockscreen?
    2. Why does it work that way when apps on other platforms like android can update the same offline?? Is there any workaround?

    You've answered your question really. It's just the way WP works. A data connection is required for updates to occur every 30 minutes. And please don't try and compare WP with Android as they are two completely different operating systems and work completely differently to each other.

  • State not updateing

    Hi,
         I have states in one MXML page.
    <mx:State name="show_dialog">
                <mx:SetProperty target="{videoBusycursor}" name="includeInLayout" value="true"/>
            </mx:State>
            <mx:State name="hide_dialog">
                <mx:SetProperty target="{videoBusycursor}" name="includeInLayout" value="false"/>
            </mx:State>
    When i use them in the root tag as currentState = "show_dialog" it works fine.
    But when i try to set the state from some other mxml or class file without specifying in the root tag it is not working. Is there any function to trigger the state explicitly in flex. I was struck with this behvaiour.

  • IPhone 5 keeps restarting itself and battery not updating

    So basically:
    I opened up the control center yesterday and clicked Play on the music and the phone switched itself off then back on. Ever since then, it's gone crazy... Bare in mind this is a new replacement and I'm booked in at Apple on Thursday but that's a long time to go with a non-working piece of ****.
    So anyway;
    The iPhone restarts itself (comes up with grey/green lines on the screen then turns itself off/on).
    The battery will not update, I could leave it charging for literally all day and it'd stay at 1% but if I restart the phone, only then will it update.
    I have tried resetting the phone, setting up as new etc but the same problem occurs...
    Any guidance right now? I can't deal with this for another 6 days... Thanks.

    The battery is dead.  You need to change the battery.

  • MacBook Battery not updating?

    Hi
    I recently bought a new genuine battery for my MacBook Core Duo 2Ghz.
    I wanted to make sure I get the most from the battery so I checked to see if it needed updating, which it does.
    I downloaded 'Battery Update 1.4' and went through installation fine and it rebooted the laptop.
    However, when I goto system profiler the 'Pack Lot Number' is still 0000 and should be 0003 after the update.
    Also the firmware is 102 but should be 110 or higher.
    Im confused as to why it's not updating and im now worried that I have spent a fair bit of money on a battery thats gunna fail again in a few months....
    Can anyone help?

    SMC reset

    If you have all your music on the cmputer then i would connect up my phone uncheck the Sync Music option and apply.
    This should take all the music off your phone .Then you can resync the music back on to it.
    If this doesn't work maybe a restore to factory settings and start from scratch is the way to go

  • FF67 Manual bank statement transactions not updated in G/L accounts.

    Dear All,
    The user has posted the Manual bank statement in the FF67 and saved. But the postings are not updated in the G/L accounts but in FF67 the bank statement is showing that "posting completed".  When I check that The Job name has finished successfully in sm37. but when I check in SM35 the batch session also has been created with the same user ID. But it has not processed.
    When i ask the user he is saying that they don't process the Batch input session. They just save the FF67 T.code. after some thime the job will complete and post to the G/L accounts.
    Please could any body let me know what could be the problem.
    When we enter the FF67 the system will ask the start variant and the processing type. There are 4 options in the processing type. could any body explain me about the 4 options.
    Regards,
    Mr.Rao.

    Dear All,
    Here the user has selected the processing type is 2. That's why the system is created the batch input secssions. so the G/L accounts will be hitted after the batch input secssion are processed.
    Regards,
    Mr.Rao.

  • ITunes Not Updating iPod When It States That It Has

    I purchased songs from the iTunes store. I have automated update. Windows and iTunes recognize my iPod. I get the message that my iPod is updated after I plug it in but it's not updated. I can't get my iPod to update even though the message states that it is updating. What am I doing wrong?

    Something might get the wrong idea<<</div>
    I'll have to respectfully disagree with you on that, Jim.
    I've always found sushi to be remarkably tolerant, even when in a Mexican pasture. It's the French seaside you should be wary of. Especially when riding the dual stage Toro.
