Battery state not present

Hi everybody
I have a Acer Aspire 5820TG TimelineX which is a really good laptop. But I have a big problem. I can't read the state of the battery.
This is what I get from acpi -V,
Battery 0: Unknown, 0%, rate information unavailable
Battery 0: design capacity 4400 mAh, last full capacity 4400 mAh = 100%
Adapter 0: on-line

Cooling 1: LCD 0 of 9
Cooling 2: Processor 0 of 10
Cooling 3: Processor 0 of 10

from /proc/acpi/battery/BAT1/state
present: yes
design capacity: 4400 mAh
last full capacity: 4400 mAh
battery technology: rechargeable
design voltage: 11100 mV
design capacity warning: 300 mAh

I updated BIOS to v1.15 - still no solution. I have, however, found out why I can't see if the battery is charged or not. Appearantly, Acer is not using the standard ACPI spec. Just look at this:

The display on my 2610 is difficult to see in bright light. I have set contrast to maximum and selected the basic theme to get black on white however the battery state and signal strength bars are still in light blue which is impossible to see in bright light. How do I change the colour of the bars to black?

go to display settings and you can select diff colours

  • Battery state not updating

ok so I'm running arch linux on my laptop (Lenovo IdeaPad 510 G) and I've got a problem wit my battery, it doesn't update it's state to power managers (meaning that both xfce power manager and batti get an initial reading when I turn my laptop on but then they stop updating the battery state, so if I start my laptop with 100% battery that is what they will show for the whole session even if it drops to 1%), I've checked the wiki and tried using acpi, neither the battery nor the ac modules run but when I use acpi -i I do get my correct battery state.
I'm starting to run out of ideas here, has anyone faced this kind of problem before?

This is due to a recent upower update. upower 0.99 uses a whole new set of api's which means that all the power managers need to be updated to work with it. I had the exact same issue on MATE but mate-power-manager got patched yesterday which fixed the issue. Until xfce4-power-manager is patched, you'll need to use an alternative battery applet that does work with the new upower (if there is one) or downgrade to an older version of upower. Here's the link if you want to downgrade: http://seblu.net/a/arm/2014/03/31/extra/os/x86_64/
EDIT: Don't bother downgrading upower. The issue has already been reported: https://bugs.archlinux.org/task/39893
and a new version of xfce4-power-manager which fixes the issue is in the testing repo: https://www.archlinux.org/packages/test … r-manager/

  • Split x2 battery not present

    Hi,
If i have my computer docked in the keyboard, it will not work unless i have the power cord plugged in.  It will keep chiming and the wifi light will blink.  Also then when i do plug it in and click the power icon it shows battery # 2 not present.  Or sometimes it will just show battery #1 and not even show that there is a battery # 2. I've attempted to run the battery check however it only comes back as battery 1 is good and doesn't give me anything for battery # 2.  Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks

  • JTA transaction is not present or the transaction is not in active state

    Hi,
I am trying to execute an asynchronous bpel process. the bpel process has 5 OSB calls and is taking approximately 100 seconds for completion. The OSB calls in the BPEL are taking 90 seconds for completion. In the end of the BPEL process, after completion I get the following error:

We do not want to increase the transaction-timeout properties in the server in the Transaction-manager.xml or in the orion-ejb-jar.xml since we have other projects with synchronous processes running in the same server.
Can anybody please suggest a workaround to overcome this issue apart from increasing the transaction-timeout?

    Hi 783703,
As Sridhar suggested for your problem you have to set transaction-time out in j2ee/home/config/transaction-manager.xml.
If you use Idempotent as false for your partnerlinks, BPEL PM will store the status till that invoke(Proof that this invoke gets executed).
So better to go for increasing the time instead of going for idempotent as it has some side effects.
And coming to dehydration ....Ideally performance will be more if there are no much dehydration poitns in our process. But for some scenarios it is better to have dehydration(ex: we can know the status of the process...etc)
Dehydration store will not get cleared after completion of the process. Here dehydration means ....it will store these dtails in tables(like Cube_instance,cube_scope...etc).

You'll want to reset your SMC (System Management Controller). Instructions are simple:

Please consult your administrator regarding this error. ". Please check the error log file for more infromation. Please try to use bpel fault handlers to catch the faults in your bpel process. If this is a system exception, please report this to your system administrator. Administrator could perform manual recovery of the instance from last non-idempotent activity or dehydration point.

    Thanks in advance.

I can envisage this happening only in a case where the update is taking a longer time than the value of JTA transaction timeout.
Is this happening for all BPEL instances or some of them get thru succesfully ?
Are you EVER updating that particular row of your table ( before/after) ?

  • The source or target cluster ID is not present on the system!

    Hi,
During System copy, we are facing issue "Run Java Migration Tool kit"
    Phase of Sapinst.
I could found exact error messages sequences which may help you in
    understanding the problem.:
    ==========================================
    #Start preparing switch.
#The switch.properties could not be read. Reason: switch.properties (No
    such file or directory)
The source or target cluster ID is not present on the system! The
current (source) cluster ID is 787075 and the new (target) cluster ID
    is 3137675
    ==========================
Last error message might be quite familiar to you as this is very
common error message however just wanted to inform you that the "SAP
Note 966752 - Java system copy problems with the Java Migration
Toolkit" could not help me out.
all the possible entries have been updated and retried but no success.
Please suggest if you have face similar kind of problem.
    Thanks.
    Cheers !!!

    Hi,
cluster ID is just combination of below parameters:
In our case, my source system (ABC) was refreshed from another system (XYZ) recently
so while installing target system ( DEF), I changed the source system details from ABC to XYZ in below file and retried the
SAPinst screen. System copy has got completed successfully.
Open the file <installation directory>/jmt/cluster_id_switch.properties and edit the line
    src.ci.sid=
    src.ci.instance.number=
    src.ci.instance.name=
    src.ci.host=
If in your case source system is not refreshed recently; You may try with functional host name or OS host name etc. details for above parameters.
If this does not work check details of "SAP Note 966752 - Java system copy problems with the Java
Migration Toolkit" which says almost the same thing but I could not get that as the statements related to
box number are bit confusing and contradictory.
    Cheers !!!
