BC Mail Server Access?

We'd like to have an online course automatically email the instructor when a student successfully completes the course/quiz. We can embed javascript code into the course to do that, but it needs to interact with the BC webserver that would actually send the email. We can code that script, but would need information on the BC mail server and what scripting language options can be used.  Can this be done with BC?  Can we access an send notification emails with BC that are not part of workflow?  Thank you!

You can outfit a webform to skip the CRM and just send an email, like a form-to-email solution. Here's some more information about that: http://kb.worldsecuresystems.com/kb/setting-form-email-using-web.html
Basically, what I suggest is having a form like the one described in the link above hidden on your page when they user completes the quiz.  Have the javascript fill out the form fields to send out and then you can try to use ajax to post the form to the server with the right action as described in the link above and that form will send the details to the email address you use for the form.
That's the easy way.
I'd suggest taking it a step further, though.  Create a secure zone where the quiz is so that you have access to that person's information like {tag_emailaddress}, {tag_firstname}, etc.  Then, create a web app to collect the quiz results.  Call it Quiz Results.  Then, when the person is done with the quiz, on the final page of the quiz, embed a similar form that's hidden on the page except this form is not a form-to-email but this form is a user-created web app item form where the user submits a new web app item.  You can use ajax again to submit/post the form after filling out the fields with the scores using javascript.  Once the user submits this web app item, it's attached to them and then you can use {module_webappscustomer} on a secure zone page to show them their results.  I guess your quiz script might handle this but if you want to keep a permanent record of a user's scores in the BC database/crm then having them submit a web app of the results is your best way to go.
You'll need a plan that supports web apps though.  The first solution is easier but it doesn't keep the scores in the BC database.

  • Airport Express Network blocks Mail server access

    Running 10.3.9. Mail version 1.3.11.
    Hello
With my current network setup Mail is unable to download/send messages with my POP e-mail server. If I plug my laptop directly into the network cable (coming from our Linksys router), Mail can access the server.
My network setup is a Linksys 4-port router, wired to an Airport Express, that relays signals to 2 other Airport Express'. All other internet access/sharing works fine.
What Airport settings can I look at to fix the problem?
    Thanks
    Matt

Try the following on your Mac mini, in order, until (hopefully) resolved:
    1a. Delete Preferred Network(s)
System Preferences > Network > AirPort > Advanced > AirPort tab
Under "Preferred Networks," delete the network(s) you regularly use from the list.
    1b. Delete AirPort Keychain Entries
Launch the "Keychain Access" application located in Applications/Utilties.
Click on the "Kind" filter at the top, and look for any "AirPort network password" entries...and delete them.
    1c. Add Preferred Network(s)
System Preferences > Network > AirPort > Advanced > AirPort tab
Add the preferred network(s) using the "+" button.
Restart or log out then back in.
    2. Move System Configuration Files
(Note: You will have to reestablish your network connections settings.)
    Go to /Library/Preferences
Move the SystemConfiguration folder to the desktop.
Restart your Mac. (Note: OS X will rebuild the files that are now sitting on your desktop. If this doesn't resolve the issue, you can move the folder back to it's original location.)

  • "mail" server access info and messages deleted

Earlier today through an errant instruction, the server access info for Mail 4.6 was inadvertently deleted.  This process also deleted all the messages viewable in
    Mail's mailboxes: In/Sent/Trash !
From Time Machine, I restored the server access information and the deleted messages!
All of the restored messages now appear as nnnn.emix (as expected) in Home/Mail/POP email address/INBOX.mbox/messages.  Similarly for Sent Messages & Deleted Messages.
However, only new messages since restore appear in Mail!!!  The restored messages do not appear (although they appear as nnnn.emix in Finder)!
    What am I missing here?

    WOOPS!
My statement above about seeing current messages in Mail is only "partially correct."  I find that if I close out Mail... then reopen the program, the messages that were there have disappeared... and, they've similarly disappeared from the nnnn.emix files in Finder!
    So... something is clearly amiss!

  • TMS and Exchange Mail server

Does TMS support a MS Exchange Server for email services?

TMS supports SMTP relay to send information concerning TMS related events.  Specifically:
"Mail server access: Cisco TMS requires access to an SMTP server to be able to send email. Your company's existing mail servers can be used for this. Note that Cisco TMS supports SMTP Auth login for authentication if required."
found in the Cisco TMS Install Guide 13.2 at
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/telepresence/infrastructure/tms/install_guide/Cisco_TMS_install_guide_13-2.pdf
There is a separate provisioning application that allows TMS and Exchange cross synchronization of calendar events called TMSXE.
more information on the TMSXE provisioning extension functions can be found at
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/telepresence/infrastructure/tmsxe/admin_guide/Cisco_TMSXE_admin_guide_3-0.pdf

  • Why do I get an "unable to connect - There may be a problem with the mail server or network." message from iCloud.  I have verified the settings.  I can access my iCloud account online but can't send or receive e-mail via the mail account.

Text limits to the "Question" link prevents a full explanation:
This is a long-time problem.  I have tried to resolve it with Apple but their "Customer Support" is merely a name.
I can go online and access my e-mail but when I try to send or receive e-mail via iCloud through my internet server (Google fiber now but the same situation existed with my prior service), I receive "There may be a problem with the mail server or network.  Verify the settings for 'Apple Email' and try again.
"The server returned the error:  The server 'p0-imap.mail.me.com' refused to allow a connection on port 143."
Well, I have verified the setting and tried again and again and …
Well, you get the idea …

Maybe you should test these things before calling people out, because these settings do function perfectly well.
iCloud is not supported on Snow Leopard or lower, why bother to mention it?
The OP has an iCloud account, and that can not be opened without Lion or Mountain Lion (on a Mac), IOS5 or 6 (on an iPhone/iPad)
The document I linked to is Apples documentation for iCloud on current devices,I don't care whether you believe that you know better than they do, but it will affect the people who follow your advice as it won't work

  • Can no longer access blueyonder emails on iphone.I get the following error message: The mail server 'imap4.blueyonder.co.uk is not responding', how do I fix pls?

    Hi there
As I've mentioned above, I can't seem to access my emails from my blueyonder account on my iphone. When I first set up my account on the phone, I had no problems at all receiving emails. Then recently, just out of the blue I get the following error message: 'Cannot Get Mail, The Mail Server 'imap4.blueyonder.co.uk' is not responding.  Verfiy that you have entered the correct account info in mail settings.  I definitely have the right settings, I even checked with Virgin but they are not able to assist with my problem. Has anyone else experienced this problem, if so,how did you fix it? If you could explain in simple terms as I'm not tech savvy!
    Many thanks!

  • Mail cannot access the mail server, but other email clients do.

My web host recently had extended problems with the mail server my sites are on. Now, Mail on my iMac Intel 27 Duo says it cannot access the server. However, Thunderbird and Entourage Mac have no problem. Sending from Mac Mail seems to be Ok as well. I've checked the settings over and over.  I received no system disk for this machine when I bought it. Do I need to reinstall Mail, and if so, how?
The info below from Connection Doctor shows it appears to be trying to access through Port 25 but I have Mail set for 587 as instructed by the hosting company. I have renamed private info in the text below.

Well if TB and Entourage can both send and receive but Mail can only send I can only conclude you missed something in you rechecking.  Of course with you being the only one checking you are going to make the same "mistake" and never no it.  So post the relevant POP server info for your ISP (edit out personal info and passwords of course):
    Account Info:
Incoming Mail server:  pop server address
User Name:             required user name POP server is looking for (censor)
Password:              password required by POP server (censor)

    Port:      995, 25, default?
    Use SSL:   yes or no
    Auth:      kind of authentication

  • Mail problem accessing Novell POP server

This one is both complicated and puzzling, and I sure would appreciate a solution.
We use Novell Groupwise for email. It allows both POP and IMAP access.
Two weeks ago, I stopped being able to access mail from the servers using either POP or IMAP from both home and office. Simultaneously, almost. At home I was using Mail, at the office Eudora.
After the usual tinkering, I got both home and office working with Mail through POP. That lasted a few days.
Yesterday, POP stopped working at the office. Then, at one point, it worked, and the day's mail came in all at once. Then it stopped working. I went home. I got a lot of mail when I checked in. Then it stopped. Today, I've gotten no mail at the office from the POP server.
Mail is communicating with the server. When I put the wrong password in, it lets me know it was not accepted. I don't get that message with the right password.
My IT people say the mail server is functioning properly, and that no one else who uses Mail is having similar problems. I've checked all the settings, and they are as they should be.
    I recently upgraded to 10.4.1.11.
Does this sound like a problem anyone has seen before?

Thanks to infinite vortex.  Changing the frequency from five to fifteen minutes seems to have solved the problem, at least so far.  Curious--but not surprising--that I could find nothing about such a limit anywhere on Cox's web site, nor was this mentioned by their tech support in a series of exchanges trying to resolve the problem.

  • Where to configure the mail server of GRC access control 5.3?

We changes our SMTP server in SAP and we need to configure also the mail server in Virsa but i dont know how. Can someone help me how to change the SMTP server in VIRSA/SAP GRC.
Thank you and have a good day ahead.

    Hi topnnehj,
In GRC 5.3 the log reports for firefighter access are sent from the back-end system. So, if you´re using the firefighter module, after a mail server change you have to set the parameters in tx. SCOT acordingly. Also you have to change in CUP if you´re using CUP workflow notifications via e-mail.
    Regards,
    Diego.

Hold off on purchasing stuff. I got my problem solved going through Apple Support for free. I'll try to walk you through this but bear in mind I've only done it once with an Apple Tech Support manager on line.
Basically you have to clear your keychain. Go to Finder Menu, Select Go, select utilities, select Keychain Access
Once you are in keychain access you may have to enter a password to unlock the keychain
Once unlocked, select preferences and then reset my keychain.
This is where I am fuzzy on what we did but as I recall that was all that was necessary with respect to the keychain access.
    Save the changes
Go to the mail program, delete your existing account
    Add a new account
De-select the option to automatically set up your account (VERY IMPORTANT)
Enter your email account info for @me.com
On the incoming mail server page
Enter the account type as IMAP
Enter the account description as iCloud
Enter the incoming mail server to imap.mail.me.com
on the outgoing mail server page
Enter the account description as iCloud
Enter the outgoing mail server to smtp.mail.me.com
    Check use only this server
And your problems SHOULD be solved
If I were you, before messing with the Keychain stuff I'd try editing the incoming and outgoing server address in the mail program first to see if that's a shortcut.
    Good luck!

  • Just trying out my new mac but email won't load, error says "The mail server denied access to the account because an administrator or other mail client was using it when Mail tried to log in. Try again later." A little lock is beside the email inbox

Just trying out my new mac but email won't load, error says "The mail server denied access to the account because an administrator or other mail client was using it when Mail tried to log in. Try again later." A little lock is beside the email inbox account, no password prompted and account is online and enabled... Thoughts?

Have you tried clicking on the lock to see it it will then ask for a passwored.  Otherwise, try reblooting.

  • TS3899 Not able to access gmail thru iPhone. Error message states "mail server not accessible"

Not able to access my Gmail in my iphone. Error message pops up
"...... mail server not responding ........"

Did this used to work or have you just set it up for Gmail access? Did you do it in accordance with: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4810 ?
Are you accessing it via cellular network or WiFi? If WiFi then is this your usual network?
If it has been working fine for some time and now suddenly you get this message having changed nothing then it is most likely a temporary glitch at Google end or your ISP perhaps.

  • Using Yosemite My incoming mail server changes by itself and means I can't access my email. When I go to preferences the new incoming mail server is greyed out. I then have to remove the accounts and get new ones.

Using Mail with Yosemite 10.10.2.The incoming mail server keeps changing by itself and means I can't access my mail. I  go to preferences and find that the new incoming server is greyed out .  I then have to remove the accounts and then add them again with the correct server. The incoming server which is greyed out is imap.gmail.com

Try Mail/Preferences/Accounts - select the account, then go to Advanced and deselect "Automatically detect and maintain account settings".
