BDC_OKCODE for batch jobs

Hi everyone
I am modifying an existing program that creates a batch job.  Does anybody know what the possible values are for the BDC_OKCODE field eg. /00, BACK, =PDE3 and so on.  I see that they tend to relate to function codes from the Gui status - is there an easy way to find out what they do?
Thanks
Andy

Hi Andrew,
BDC_OKCODE identifies the command field.
it can use function key number or function code
/ for function key number and = for function code
'/3' -->Back function key
'/15'-->Quit function key
'/11'--> save
All functions in menus and buttons are identified by function codes.

  • Parallel process define for batch job

    Hi,
    I would like to run a batch job with a few processes run parallel together. May I know where can i define it ? T-code ?
    Regards
    Lauran

    Hi Lauren,
    First of all there is no transaction code as such.
    First of all the report that  needs to be run in background should enable you to do parrallel processing. For that code has to be written accordingly.
    Check this link:
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw2004s/helpdata/en/fa/096e92543b11d1898e0000e8322d00/content.htm
    It gives details of function modules needed for this purpose.
    After this you need to create a variant for the report and schedule it to run in background using either SE38 (dirrectly) or by creating a job explicitily- SM36.
    A standard report that has parallel processing feature available is RBDAPP01.
    Also check transactions like BD18. They also make use of parallel processing.
    Regards.

    Hi Vinay,
    In SM36 in STEP definition after the report name is filled, press button Print specifications, then button Properties. There you can change the Spool request properties, such as Name, Title and Authorization.

  • Skipping transaction for batch job on streams

    We need to run a batch job on streams soruce side. I would like to skip this transaction from streams to capture & apply.
    Then run the batch jobs on source & target seperately. How to do it?

    There are plenty of valid reasons to execute a batch job independently of replication, not the least of which is that it's a recommended best practice from Oracle.
    Minimize the Performance Impact of Batch Processing
    For best performance, the commit point for a batch processing job should be kept low. Also, if a large batch processing job must be run at a source database, then consider running it at each Streams replication database independently. If this technique is used, then make sure the changes resulting from the batch processing job are not replicated. To accomplish this, run the DBMS_STREAMS.SET_TAG procedure in the session that runs the batch processing job, and set the session tag to a value that will not be captured by a capture process.
    Unless you have made explicit changes to the tag used in your streams rules they are all configured to only replicate if the streams tag is null. If you set this to not-null in a session, changes within that session will not be replicated. For example
    exec dbms_streams.set_tag(hextoraw('99'));
    You can turn it back on in that session (if needed) with
    exec dbms_streams.set_tag(null);
    So, if you set the tag in your batch job you can execute it independently of replication.

  • Program for Batch Job

    Hi,
    How can i find a program attached to a batch job in sm37.
    Points will be rewarded definitely.
    Thanks

    (1) If you want to know the program used by the job
    go to SM37, select a job and click on "step", each step used a program or an external command/program.
    (2) If you search for job using a program*
    On the initial screen of SM37, put the name of the program you search for.

  • Dynamic Variant -Current date  in selection screen - for batch jobs

    Hi Experts,
    My report runs in batch job with a variant, daily.
    One of the filed in selction screen should hv CURRENT DATE, with out providing as input explicitly by user.
    So, How Can I get it done?
    Its some thing with Dynamic variants + Selection Variables +  date selection, but, I forgot the navigation etc.
    pl. let me know
    thanq

    thanq.
    and pls. let me further clarify that,
    programitically am populating the date as current date minus 1 in the field of my_date in the selection screen.
    now, they wanna to run the report in back ground, daily.
    now, I followed ur tip/link and saved with_date_variant, fine.
    so, pls. let me know that,
    1) if the report runs in back ground tomorrow with with_date_variant(which is i created by seeing ur link), Is the selection screen my_date(prog. populates as June 5th) will be override with current date(i.e. June 6th)?
    In broad, Is the selection criteria wuld be over writes with the Dynamic varints?

  • Advise on sql query for batch job

    Hi all,
    I'm planning to perform a batch query for 4000 records.
    The query is as follows and we will loop it for 4000 times.
    select w.idno, w.place, e.user_arrival_dt from main.tbl_user w, main.tbl_job e
    where w.idno = e.idno and w.idno = <idno>
    I find that rather inefficient in term of performance.
    I can use the below too but the the in clause has a limit.
    select w.idno, w.place, e.user_arrival_dt from main.tbl_user w, main.tbl_job e
    where w.idno = e.idno and w.idno in <idno1, idno2, idno3, idno4, etc>
    Another way that I can think of is to loop for 10 times and use this query
    select w.idno, w.place, e.user_arrival_dt from main.tbl_user w, main.tbl_job e
    where w.idno = e.idno and w.idno in <idno1, idno2, idno3, idno4, until idno400>
    is there any other more efficient way of coding to achive the above?
    kindly advise.
    thanks!

    Hi,
    Qwerty and Surachart are right; the best way is to put the 4000 values into 4000 rows of a table (perhaps a Global Temporary Table) and use a sub-query.
    If you really must have 4000 literals, then you can have 4000 items in a list like this:
    where      w.idno      = e.idno
    and      (w.idno, 0) IN     ( (idno1,    0)
                   , (idno2,    0)
                   , (idno3,    0)
                   , (idno4000, 0)

  • How to get all AD User accounts, associated with any application/MSA/Batch Job running in a Local or Remote machine using Script (PowerShell)

    Dear Scripting Guys,
    I am working in an AD migration project (Migration from old legacy AD domains to single AD domain) and in the transition phase. Our infrastructure contains lots
    of Users, Servers and Workstations. Authentication is being done through AD only. Many UNIX and LINUX based box are being authenticated through AD bridge to AD.
    We have lot of applications in our environment. Many applications are configured to use Managed Service Accounts. Many Workstations and servers are running batch
    jobs with AD user credentials. Many applications are using AD user accounts to carry out their processes.
    We need to find out all those AD Users, which are configured as MSA, Which are configured for batch jobs and which are being used for different applications on
    our network (Need to find out for every machine on network).
    These identified AD Users will be migrated to the new Domain with top priority. I get stuck with this requirement and your support will be deeply appreciated.
    I hope a well designed PS script can achieve this.
    Thanks in advance...
    Thanks & Regards Bedanta S Mishra

    Hey Satyajit,
    Thank you for your valuable reply. It is really a great notion to enable account logon audit and collect those events for the analysis. But you know it is also a tedious job when thousand of Users come in to picture. You can imagine how complex it will be
    for this analysis, where more than 200000 users getting logged in through AD. It is the fact that when a batch / MS or an application uses a Domain Users credential with successful process, automatically a successful logon event will be triggered in associated
    DC. But there are also too many users which are not part of these accounts like MSA/Batch jobs or not linked to any application. In that case we have to get through unwanted events.
    Recently jrv, provided me a beautiful script to find out all MSA from a machine or from a list of machines in an AD environment. (Covers MSA part.)
    $Report= 'Audit_Report.html'
    $Computers= Get-ADComputer -Filter 'Enabled -eq $True' | Select -Expand Name
    $head=@'
    <title>Non-Standard Service Accounts</title>
    <style>
    BODY{background-color :#FFFFF}
    TABLE{Border-width:thin;border-style: solid;border-color:Black;border-collapse: collapse;}
    TH{border-width: 1px;padding: 2px;border-style: solid;border-color: black;background-color: ThreeDShadow}
    TD{border-width: 1px;padding: 2px;border-style: solid;border-color: black;background-color: Transparent}
    </style>
    $sections=@()
    foreach($computer in $Computers){
    $sections+=Get-WmiObject -ComputerName $Computer -class Win32_Service -ErrorAction SilentlyContinue |
    Select-Object -Property StartName,Name,DisplayName |
    ConvertTo-Html -PreContent "<H2>Non-Standard Service Accounts on '$Computer'</H2>" -Fragment
    $body=$sections | out-string
    ConvertTo-Html -Body $body -Head $head | Out-File $report
    Invoke-Item $report
    A script can be designed to get all scheduled back ground batch jobs in a machine, from which the author / the Owner of that scheduled job can be extracted. like below one...
    Function Get-ScheduledTasks
    Param
    [Alias("Computer","ComputerName")]
    [Parameter(Position=1,ValuefromPipeline=$true,ValuefromPipelineByPropertyName=$true)]
    [string[]]$Name = $env:COMPUTERNAME
    [switch]$RootOnly = $false
    Begin
    $tasks = @()
    $schedule = New-Object -ComObject "Schedule.Service"
    Process
    Function Get-Tasks
    Param($path)
    $out = @()
    $schedule.GetFolder($path).GetTasks(0) | % {
    $xml = [xml]$_.xml
    $out += New-Object psobject -Property @{
    "ComputerName" = $Computer
    "Name" = $_.Name
    "Path" = $_.Path
    "LastRunTime" = $_.LastRunTime
    "NextRunTime" = $_.NextRunTime
    "Actions" = ($xml.Task.Actions.Exec | % { "$($_.Command) $($_.Arguments)" }) -join "`n"
    "Triggers" = $(If($xml.task.triggers){ForEach($task in ($xml.task.triggers | gm | Where{$_.membertype -eq "Property"})){$xml.task.triggers.$($task.name)}})
    "Enabled" = $xml.task.settings.enabled
    "Author" = $xml.task.principals.Principal.UserID
    "Description" = $xml.task.registrationInfo.Description
    "LastTaskResult" = $_.LastTaskResult
    "RunAs" = $xml.task.principals.principal.userid
    If(!$RootOnly)
    $schedule.GetFolder($path).GetFolders(0) | % {
    $out += get-Tasks($_.Path)
    $out
    ForEach($Computer in $Name)
    If(Test-Connection $computer -count 1 -quiet)
    $schedule.connect($Computer)
    $tasks += Get-Tasks "\"
    Else
    Write-Error "Cannot connect to $Computer. Please check it's network connectivity."
    Break
    $tasks
    End
    [System.Runtime.Interopservices.Marshal]::ReleaseComObject($schedule) | Out-Null
    Remove-Variable schedule
    Get-ScheduledTasks -RootOnly | Format-Table -Wrap -Autosize -Property RunAs,ComputerName,Actions
    So I think, can a PS script be designed to get the report of all running applications which use domain accounts for their authentication to carry out their process. So from that result we can filter out the AD accounts being used for those
    applications. After that these three individual modules can be compacted in to a single script to provide the desired output as per the requirement in a single report.

  • Batch Job Performance Issue in BW

    Hi All
    I would like to if there are any performance tuning methods for batch jobs in BW. Few jobs are taking much longer time and i need to figure out a method to tune them.
    Thanks in advance for your help
    Regards
    JP

    Hi JP,
    Dinesh is right, you need to consider the tuning for specific scenarios. If some of the jobs are taking longtime just access at what point they are taking time by going to the JobLog in source sytem/BW, and try to take up the optimization of the resources used inthe source system. For Eg: It can be even in the Extractor. I had come across such issue with long loading times for few ledgers in FISL. But could encounter that by spitting load with small number of records to BW with an ABAP program incorporated inthe InfoPack with the selections for the Reconcilation key.
    In this way, you need to first identify the delay for the jobs. Then you can plan the things accordingly..
    Hope this will help you..

    Madhu

  • How to assign Batch jobs ..........

    Hi,
    I want to know as to how can i assign Batch Jobs to different plants and in by which Tcodes can I see the programs of the Batch jobs.
    Thanks

    Hi Jyoti
    for specfic plant u have to create a variant for batch job.afterwards u have to schedule and release batch job by putting start date for batch job.
    You schedule a batch job in <b>SM36</b> and check whether the job has successfully completed in <b>SM37</b>.
    The host or server names that appear when you choose F4 for the target field in <b>SM36</b> are retrieved from the message service. They can be local or virtual.
    Hope ths helps

  • STO Auto delivery Creation - Batch Job

    Hi Friends,
    I am facing issue related to auto delivery creation through batch Job for STO.
    I created a variant for auto Creation of delivery for batch Job using T code VL10BATCH, using the parrameter Shipping Point and Deliv. Creation date. The Batch Job is running fine, but my Client wants the delivery shoud be created from Delivery Date instead  of Deliv. Creation date.
        I tried to change the varriant , but could not find the delivery date as a parmeter to be selected.
    Is there any possible way to use delivery date for creation of Auto delivery instead of Deliv. Creation date.
    If not please tell why only deliv. creation date is given in varriant creation ,
    Regards,
    Kunal

    Hi,
    GO to VL04 there u just fill required fields and then go to menu bar program - execute in back ground then it will show u output parameters popup screen then enter. There u just give start data and time and then clikc on periodic values button there u select daily. Finally save. This will be run in back ground every day on specified time..

  • Batch jobs getting delayed

    Dear all
    We are running batch job for autamatic invoice after Post goods issue..
    It was working till y'day and suddenly it is not getting executed .It shows a huge delay..
    Batch job program was SDBILLDL
    Can u please tell us what could be problem for delay in batch job execution...
    Batch job status is released...But not getting executed every 15mts
    How to find out which has caused delay...for batch job running...
    Regards
    Sudha

    There can be two reasons.
    1. If the data or the number of documents being processed is huge.
    2. If there is an error or wrong data being picked up in any one of the document can lead to batch job being slow.
    Regards

  • To, Jurjen Heeck (batch job)

    My concern is like there are so many programs for batch job.For each and every program how do we know what type of authorizations we need to assign it to the system user??Can you pls clear my confusion..

    John, Jurjen
    as Jurjen already mentioned it is a normal problem that has only seldom been solved.
    i am used to 2 different approaches.
    1 give the background user SAP_ALL, although I am against this, not every customer wants to invest money to solve this.
    2 give the background user wide area access (as Jurjen already mentioned) normally we would do that like this: Make a compilation of all roles in the area and test the background jobs running in foreground with the test user. BUT BE AWARE, even than it might fail after a while so you have to retest. Reason is that the success of running can sometimes depend on the data being handled. So it runs ok for a while and then all of a sudden it fails.
    I have not seen any other options that were successfully implemented
