How can i find a program attached to a batch job in sm37.

go to SM37, select a job and click on "step", each step used a program or an external command/program.

On the initial screen of SM37, put the name of the program you search for.

Hello Manish,
Using transaction SM36 you can define the batch job along with the start conditions for that job.
1. Transaction SM36.
2. Give the Z name of the job in the 'Job Name' input field.
3. Click on 'Steps' button from the application toolbar.
4. On the 'Create Step 1' dialog box, give the name of the ABAP program in the 'ABAP Program' section' along with the variant.
5. Click on 'Check Input' button from the dialog box.
6. Click on 'Save' button from the dialog box once the check is successful.
7. One list will be shown. Click on Back button from the standard toolbar.
8. Click on 'Start Conditions' button from the application toolbar. Specify the start condition e.g. immediate. Click on save.
9. The job staus is now scheduled.
10.Click on Save button from the standard toolbar of SM36. The job status will be released.
Using SM37 you can monitor the status of the job.
This will sort out your problem.

Runn time error "CNTL_ERROR" for batch job created for program RBDAPP01

We have encounter run time error and the batch job for program RBDAPP01 was terminated.
Information on where terminated
    Termination occurred in the ABAP program "CL_GUI_CUSTOM_CONTAINER=======CP" -
     in "CONSTRUCTOR".
    The main program was "RBDAPP01 ".
    In the source code you have the termination point in line 62
    of the (Include) program "CL_GUI_CUSTOM_CONTAINER=======CM001".
    The program "CL_GUI_CUSTOM_CONTAINER=======CP" was started as a background job.
Can any member reachout help in identifying the reason.

BDC_OKCODE for batch jobs

Hi everyone
I am modifying an existing program that creates a batch job. Does anybody know what the possible values are for the BDC_OKCODE field eg. /00, BACK, =PDE3 and so on. I see that they tend to relate to function codes from the Gui status - is there an easy way to find out what they do?

BDC_OKCODE identifies the command field.
it can use function key number or function code
/ for function key number and = for function code
'/3' -->Back function key
'/15'-->Quit function key
'/11'--> save
All functions in menus and buttons are identified by function codes.

Use the same Driver program RIPROV00 which is used as Script driver program to fire the output from smartforms also
Only thing is little bit you have to modify the program such that it triggers the smartform instead of Script.
I think there is no smartform driver program for this IW21.
see some standard SF driver program like RLE_DELNOTE and
modify it and use it.

Parallel process define for batch job

I would like to run a batch job with a few processes run parallel together. May I know where can i define it ? T-code ?

Hi Lauren,
First of all there is no transaction code as such.
First of all the report that needs to be run in background should enable you to do parrallel processing. For that code has to be written accordingly.

It gives details of function modules needed for this purpose.
After this you need to create a variant for the report and schedule it to run in background using either SE38 (dirrectly) or by creating a job explicitily- SM36.
A standard report that has parallel processing feature available is RBDAPP01.
Also check transactions like BD18. They also make use of parallel processing.

Where to update spool Title for batch job

We have a requirement to update spool title for a batch job. I have updated spool title under step--> print specifications --> Title. But the spool title is not updated. Can u pls. guide me is there any place where I have to update the spool title.

Hi Vinay,
In SM36 in STEP definition after the report name is filled, press button Print specifications, then button Properties. There you can change the Spool request properties, such as Name, Title and Authorization.

Skipping transaction for batch job on streams

We need to run a batch job on streams soruce side. I would like to skip this transaction from streams to capture & apply.
Then run the batch jobs on source & target seperately. How to do it?

There are plenty of valid reasons to execute a batch job independently of replication, not the least of which is that it's a recommended best practice from Oracle.
Minimize the Performance Impact of Batch Processing
For best performance, the commit point for a batch processing job should be kept low. Also, if a large batch processing job must be run at a source database, then consider running it at each Streams replication database independently. If this technique is used, then make sure the changes resulting from the batch processing job are not replicated. To accomplish this, run the DBMS_STREAMS.SET_TAG procedure in the session that runs the batch processing job, and set the session tag to a value that will not be captured by a capture process.
Unless you have made explicit changes to the tag used in your streams rules they are all configured to only replicate if the streams tag is null. If you set this to not-null in a session, changes within that session will not be replicated. For example
exec dbms_streams.set_tag(hextoraw('99'));
You can turn it back on in that session (if needed) with
exec dbms_streams.set_tag(null);
So, if you set the tag in your batch job you can execute it independently of replication.

Dynamic Variant -Current date in selection screen - for batch jobs

My report runs in batch job with a variant, daily.
One of the filed in selction screen should hv CURRENT DATE, with out providing as input explicitly by user.
So, How Can I get it done?
Its some thing with Dynamic variants + Selection Variables + date selection, but, I forgot the navigation etc.

now, I followed ur tip/link and saved with_date_variant, fine.

1) if the report runs in back ground tomorrow with with_date_variant(which is i created by seeing ur link), Is the selection screen my_date(prog. populates as June 5th) will be override with current date(i.e. June 6th)?
In broad, Is the selection criteria wuld be over writes with the Dynamic varints?

Program for Background Job for COGI

Does anyone know what is the Program name for creating background job to run COGI? I'm using CORUAFFW to create variants and run the program but its not working as I guess it isonly generating the report but not deleting the records if inventory is added.

Use Program "CORUAFWP" to schedule background job to post COGI error records if the error is corrected, as in your case stock is corrected.

Handle submit program for background jobs in RFC FM to send email in ITS

Hi all
I am facing a problem in ITS, i.e. I have called a RFC Function Module on the page load event of one of the HTML template. In that FM I have used submit program. This RFC FM is working fine in background i.e. it is sending pdf as email to a particular email address
but in the frontend it is not responding.
I wanted to ask whether we can handle submit <program-name> in background job from ITS
If you are unable to understand the problem i can share with you my code as well.

The Function Module ZV_FUNC_CCK_EMAIL_PDF is used to generate the email with pdf as attachement. it is generating email at backend but not in frontend.

Best Program for Batch Normalizing & Simple editing?

Hi.
I used to have a program called audio finder that let me batch normalise files and pitch them and edit them.... just wondering whether there is any others out there that you would recommend?

I bought Audio Finder too... but don't use it as I find the Finder (preview mode with space bar) quicker for what I was using it for.
You should check out Soundtrack Pro for some scriptable batch processing... It's actually really good for that kind of thing. As far as pitch related sensing etc... well, it won't do that, but for general conversion and plugin processing etc, you can set up some awesome droplets and automator functions that can save you time.

Is Acrobat Right Program for the Job?

HI, I have a client who would like to do a number os sales sheets. The client has multiple locations around the country and wants to be able to send the sheets to each location. At each location they will put in their address/phone etc., and all locations want to be able to make minor text updates to the sales sheets as the services they offer are continually changing. They will then print them out of their color copiers as needed.
My thought is to create the sheets in InDesign and Acrobat. The final file I provide the client will be a PDF that they can alter the type in. In that way I think they will not be able to mess it up too much. However my first test working in Acrobat as an editable file is a little squirly.
So, is there a better way to do this? A different program I should be thinking of that would allow my client to make edits, that would be better than Acrobat? Keeping in mind the end product is to be printed.

You could use PDF with form fields. where they fill in Blanks.
But if the whole for has to be edited to tweak design, everyone is going to have to have either Indesign or Acrobat, or Both. On the other hand If everyone has Excel ,the can edit anything and everything hearts content.
