BDC options for recording

Hi all gurus!
When we go to SHDB, we have 4 options to set - Default Window, Don't end recording after commit, simulate background mode and "No BDC mode".
I guess I am aware of the meaning of No bdc mode -> which probably means that SY-BINPT will be SPACE if I set it to X.
No end of BDC after commit is also obvious that it will not end BDC after COMMIT. But when should we set it while recording?
What is SIMULATE background mode? Does it mean SY-BATCH is set to 'X"? When we run BDC in session mode, is Sy-batch set to 'X'? Should we set this parameter or not? This is not clear.
Also, in what scenarios should we check Default window?
My understanding is that it should not matter how we set the parameters while recording. Important thing is we should code in similar manner. So whatever was set while recording, same should be set while coding in CTUPARAMS. Is it correct?
Thanks in adv !

Hi there everyone.  My question is that I want to know about a lenses that supports me good definition and quality in low light conditions.  I am recording with a Rebel t3i. Thanks in advance.

The solution is a bigger (higher capacity) SD card. =)  They go up to 64gb and 128gb now which should provide A LOT of recording capacity.

At the time, I've been working just with the 18-55 (the one that comes with the camera package), but I need an aditional lense because this lense I have, is graining all my videos because of the adjustment of ISO.
How much do you understand about f-stops, shutter speed, and ISO?  What exposure settings are you using now for your videos?  In short, you need a lens that can open up to a larger aperture (such as f/1.8, f1.4 or f1.2).
Here are some guides that will be helpful in explaining these concepts for you:

  • Recording Options for SHDB

    Hey all,
Please could someone explain what all the different options for recording BDC in SHDB are.  In specific I'm interested in knowing what the CATT mode (No CATT, CATT with individual screen control & CATT without individual screen control) and the Simulate Background Mode options do.
    Thank you
    Tim.

    hi,

Usually from what I have seen CATT is not used for regular transactions in the productive environment. I have only seen LSMW used for the transfer of data from non-SAP systems to SAP systems. It guides you thru your data migration tasks.

    - SAP advise not to use CATT in productive systems.
    http://www.planetsap.com/basis1.htm
    - Start of CATT processes allowed: This option determines whether you want to allow the CATT (Computer Aided Test Tool) process in the client or not. Computer Aided Test Tool (CATT) is tool provided by SAP to test different functionality of the SAP system. To run the CATT tool you can execute transaction SCAT. CATT process changes the database extensively and requires lot of system resources. So we recommend not to chose this option if you are in the production environment.
There has also been some comments on LSMW on this forum:
    https://www.sdn.sap.com/sdn/collaboration.sdn?contenttype=url&content=https%3A//forums.sdn.sap.com/thread.jspa%3FthreadID%3D37272%26tstart%3D135
    - The Legacy System Migration Workbench (LSMW) is a tool recommended by SAP that you can use to transfer data once only or periodically from legacy systems into an R/3 System.
My 2 cent would be why not develop a solution using Batch Input, BAPI etc?

I'm sure you will get numerous recommendations - what you want really is an Apogee Duet... it's the best thing you'll find for the price and it sounds great...
I use an Edirol FA-66 with a MacBook with no problems at all, except it sounds a bit "thin"...

hi gurur's in BDC for recording other than SHDB any process is there

    Hi,
I think as such there is no other process. You can do the recording through transaction SM35 as well, go there and click on new recording. You can do the recording this way also but this is not different from SHDB.
Reward if this clarifies your doubt.

  • Missing "Add Records" and "Refresh Records" options for data sets post domain re-import

We recently had to re-install the Endeca server and as part of which had to export and re-import the data domains. Everything went fine except for the fact that newly re-imported data sets showcase just the "Manage Attributes" and the "Delete Data Set" options for an administrator login in. The previously available options to "Add Records" and "Refresh Records" beyond manage attributes/Delete Data Set are missing.
Thoughts? Is there a security setting to enable these?

So are you talking about the Add Records and Reload Records options for a data set in Studio?
There are no separate security settings for these options. If a user is an application administrator (is able to edit the application), then they should have access to these options.
The options are only available for data domains created using the Provisioning Service (created by uploading a file or from the JDBC or BI Server data source from the Data Source Library).
I don't know if the process of exporting and re-importing the data domains (not sure how you did that) could somehow cause the data sets to no longer know that they were created by the Provisioning Service, in which case those options would not be enabled.

  • Options for Displaying Reference Attribute in AdvancedTable Record

    Hi,
I'm looking for options for including reference attributes within an advanced table records as just another column.  Specifically how can I include a lookup meaning column in a detail advancedtable component when the lookup meaning is not in the VO?
Some options I've thought of are:
    1. Change the VO to be defined with the lookup meaning by using "Expert Mode" and adding the joins.  This will not work because I need to change detail VO attribute via a controller/am method and (due to a bug) the change will not be saved to the database.
    2. Create an EO for the lookup entity and an AO to associate the detail EO with the lookup EO.  Then create a VO that is based upon both of these entities.  The problem I ran into with this option is that when the lookup code in the detail VO attribute is changed OAF tries to look for the old lookup code record in the detail VO and it will not find it and throws a error on the page.
    3. Create another detail advancedtable component in the detail VO advancedtable component.  Since I need the value within the detail advancedtable record and this would place it in a new detail this will not satisfy the requirement.
    Thank you

If UOM is also changed with qty then old & new UOM should be available in CDHDR & CDPOS.
If not then display current UOM.
This logic will fail if UOM is also changed several times without changing Qty, which normally does not happen. So you can confirm with business, if this much info is enough.
Making logic to work in case UOM is also changed several times, would require quite complex logic & will affect performance badly.

  • Need 'What You Hear' recording option for Notebook(Vista)-Does Xi-Fi for Notebooks provide th

    Hi,
I have an Audigy sound card on a Dell desktop and it has the "What You Hear" recording option within Vista. I need the same option for my Dell Notebook, unfortuntately, this notebook uses a Sigmatel card within the motherboard. What device or application to i need to buy in order to get the "What you Hear" recording option to be available?
What am i attempting to do?I often record li've webcasts in which the video portion comes through a Li've Meeting or Lotus Same time application using a Screen Recording Application?BUT the Audio comes from a conference which i use a VoIP software to dial into. I need to be able to record the sound that's been generated through my computer as an internal source. I need to be able to select 'What You Hear' as the default recording device so that the screen recording application i use can also record the audio been played through the PC?Appreciate any help here. Thanks?Kevin

If it'sis not a Creative card, "what u hear" will be called something different. Maybe "stereo mix" or something else. The device just records anything coming from the soundcard. Play around and see if you don't have something similar to "what u hear" with a different name.

  • BDC Program with recording

    Hi All,
I have a requirement to create a bdc program for asset creation with recording. Any have this, please send the step-by-step procedure.
I am very thankful to you in advance.
    Thanks,
    Nagarjuna.

    HI Nagarjuna,
Step by Step approach to ceate simple BDC session program using reusable template.
Batch Data Communication is one of the vital data upload / transaction automation option in many SAP components . I am suggesting here a way out to simplify the programming for a BDC application . It utilizes a template program and gives steps to use it to create your own BDC program on the fly.
This step by step approach can be used to create a Simple BDC program i.e for a transaction which does not have any table control / looping at screen table. The same can also be enhanced to develop a program for transactions involving table controls .
    1. Create a new program as executable program using SE38 transaction code.
    2. Copy the following template code into your program .

    6. Define data type t_upload and structure wa_upload in the template program with fields of structure 'RECORD' from the program generated using SHDB recording ( replace the field1, field2 and so on as per your requirement). For your understanding you can remove the suffixes to the
field name but keep the field size unchanged.
7.Copy the coding existing between 'do' and 'enddo' statement from the generated program . Insert the copied code between the loop and endloop code of form 'Do_transaction '. Replace fields of structure 'RECORD' with respective fields of structure wa_upload.Insert constant values wherever possible in transaction recording. You can also handle customised data conversions here.
8.Replace 'TCODE' in the template program with the transaction code you intend to process in this BDC.
9.Please carry out further syntax check and resolve the related issues.
This program will provide for input help to select upload file from local machine. The file needs to be in Tab delimited format and is assumed to have first row as column headers .
On successful creation of session you will be prompted with a Information popup giving the name of session ,and will take you to the SM35 transaction to process your session.
    thanks

  • TREX index for Records management in CRM

    Hi All,
Hopefully this is the correct forum to post this question, if not please let me know the correct one.
Does anyone have any information on linking TREX to RMPS?
This is to resolve an issue where the case search on business partner first and last name fields are case sensitive in the electronic desk.  In the DMWB we have ticked the Index-Relevant option but have been advised that we also need the link to TREX.
I have set up a TREX search index for the Solutions database in the past but setting this up for Records management doesn't seem to be as easy.
    Many thanks in advance.
    Gary Hawkins

    Hi Vishnu,
    Try this BAPI: BAPI_BUSPROCESSND_CREATEMULTI
    BAPI_BUSPROCESSND_SAVE

  • Restrict Select-Options for Logical Database field

The way we restrict select options for custom defined select option fields on selection screen.. can we restrict select options for standard Logical Database fields?
i.e. report uses PNPCE logical database and has field called PERNR. I want to restrict select options for this PERNR field so that it has options for 'Select single values' only.
    Thanks,

You can user AT SELECTION-SCREEN event, and check whether any record is having high value for PNPPERNR.
