Before you post...

Help us to help you!
You are most likely here with a problem that needs solving. Of course you can just post your issue and wait for someone to come along and supply an answer. But please take a moment and read these "rules of the road". They have been designed to help you get the right answer fast.
Please observe these simple suggestions before you post:
Search before you post
The time of those who voluntarily support the forums is limited. Help them by seeing if the question has been asked and answered before.
As you type the search term, you will see a list of topics appear that may contain the link to just what you are looking for. Otherwise click the links to show all the results or limit the list to just threads in the forum category you are searching in.
Please note that during your search, you may find similar questions. Please resist the urge to simply append your question onto an older post you found while searching. Odds are that if a question has been asked more than a month ago and it hasn't been answered by the time you found it, there is no answer. Please ask your question in a totally new thread of its own.
It also means you get a quicker answer.
There is a video on searching at http://forums.adobe.com/docs/DOC-1021
Choose ONE category, post a SINGLE time, then exercise patience.
We realize that you are anxious and are hoping for a fast answer. And we really do our best to provide answers as quickly and accurately as we can.
What happens if you post multiple times in different categories is that one person may respond to one post while someone else responds to the other, both giving different and sometimes conflicting answers. The whole thing gets messy and you are no nearer to getting a good answer. It wastes everyone's time and doesn't help you.
The next person that comes along with the same problem finds a solution that may not be the best one. They will not search further and will go away disappointed. Another time that person could be you!
Don’t sweat whether you have posted in the correct category for your question. Do the best you can. If it’s in the wrong category, we can move the post to the appropriate forum if it fits better there.
If you don't get a reply within a reasonable time, it may just be that nobody has an answer. If you think it is because your post is in the wrong category, add another post to the thread asking the administrators to move it.
The categories are described in this post.
Include the Edition and Version.
Edition
RoboHelp HTML or RoboHelp for Word
Version
RoboHelp 7, 8, 9 or 10.
Please tell us up front what you are using. Too often the answer is delayed by us having to ask for that information because providing the correct solution depends on it.
Make sure your wording is clear.
Examples of bad wording:
"I clicked Finish in the layout wizard but no help was generated."
Something like the above would cause the following questions to be raised:
Did it start and then hang?
Was there an error message?
Was there any information in the Output pod?
Posting a subject line of NEED HELP!!! or RoboHelp Sucks Cheese!!!
Subject lines such as these don't help us easily determine if we are able to help you. Please be respectful of everyone's time and use a meaningful subject line.
Avoid comparative terms.
State 5,000 topics rather than "my project is large".
Too often we see people refer to their "large" project when talking about a project with just a couple of hundred topics.
Believe us, that is not large.
Include screenshots where this helps. Use the camera icon rather than attaching the image.
For example:
If you add an image using the camera icon, it appears in your post immediately.
If you use the Attach Files link below the post area, the attachments are queued and must be approved by a forum admin in order to see them.
Guess which way gets you a quicker answer?
Don’t insert your E-Mail address.
Remember that the forums are searchable using Google, YAHOO or other search engines.
This means you open yourself up for spammers to harvest your address.
You really don’t need more unwanted E-Mail messages from the dying millionaire in the Nigerian hospital do you?
It is our sincere hope that these tips will help you get the most out of your forum experience!

    . How to Contact Support
Please note this is a peer forum and Creative's Support staff do not guarantee a reply here. If your issue is urgent, you are within your warranty period and/or you do not get a fast reply here you should contact Creative Labs Technical Support.
To contact support click the Support > Contact Customer Support link on this page.
When contacting Creative Support by email it's important to note that you must reply to the autoresponse email you first receive, as detailed in the email itself. Also make sure to check any spam trap you have on your email system if you have not received a reply.
It's also important if you feel that you have a bug or defect with your product to register that issue directly with support. Don't rely on the forum to raise awareness of an issue.
    2. Hot Topics
This is dividied into 3 sections: General, Tag based players & USB mass storage players.
Make sure to also look at Section 3, which covers some of the other General Issues.
    General
Where do I get the latest software, drivers and firmware?
Click the link Support > Downloads on this page.
In general, when installing on a new PC you need to download the driver, and some software to communicate with the player e.g. MediaSource, Media Explorer. For players using the v2.xx MTP/PlayForsure firmware drivers are not necessary, but you must have Windows XP and Windows Media Player 0 (this provides the MTP driver).
Important: Even though files are described as updates, none of the software requires a previous version to install. At worst they will prompt you to connect your player to verify you own a Creative product.
Note if you are downloading MediaSource make sure to download and install the relevant MediaSource plugin for your player. If MediaSource can't detect your player this is the first thing to check. For the v.xx PDE firmware the plugin is called the Creative Zen and NOMAD Jukebox plugin for Creative MediaSource , and for the v2 MTP/PlayForSure firmware it's called Creative MediaSource Plugin for PlaysForSure devices .
I am completely new to MP3 players, where should I start?
Have a read of my Nomad Primer, so called as Creative's MP3 player range tend to be prefixed with the word Nomad.
I think I have a bug, how can I check?
There's a known bug list hosted at my site here. If you want to add a bug then please
I have a wish request for the player, what can I do?
You can post it here (see the petitions listed in Section of this FAQ), email it to support, and/or add it to the public wishlist I host here by
I'm having connection problems with my player
If you can, the best test is to try your player with another PC, to see if you still have the problem. This localises whether the problem is with the PC (most likely the USB) or the player. See the link below (search on "connection problems") for a lot more troubleshooting on this.
What bit-rate should I encode my music at?
Ultimately it's down to your ears what bit-rate you prefer, and you should listen for yourself to determine it. If you ask on the forum you'll get many different opinions.
Make sure to look at the "MP3 vs. WMA" link below also.
How long should my battery last?
For the Zen and Nomad Jukebox players, to get some idea of how long your battery will last for a given bit-rate look at the battery curves thread. Ultimately battery life is dependent on how you use the player, make sure to follow the "why doesn't my battery last as long as expected?" link below.
How long does an RMA take?
Typically 2 weeks. But it might take a little longer, so don't start posting if it's 5 days.
I want to know how people feel about their Zen Micro/Touch/MuVo etc.
There's a long post titled Experience with your Creative player that has many posts from users about their players. Please search back for threads about specific players before starting a new thread.
Where can I buy online music or get legal downloads for my player?
    See this thread.
My tracks don't play at the correct speed e.g. they play too slowly, why?
Chances are they are encoded in an unsupported sampling frequency. The tracks will need to be re-encoded at a supported bit-rate and/or frequency with something like Creative's MediaSource Audio Converter or dbPowerAmp.
Can a Creative player work on an Apple Mac?
It isn't officially supported, but some kind folks out there have written freeware applications to get your Creative player working with Macs. XNJB provides support for the Zen players, and requires OS X 0.3 or 0.4 (check the site for full details). MuVoHelper solves some problems with getting the MuVo to work optimally. The iTunes Zen plugin should support all Zen players. Note if the link to the plugin is broken just Google "iTunes Zen plugin" to find other sources. Also note there's no guarantee that these programs will work with the Mac, so if you have issues you should address your problems to the developer(s) of the relevant program.
Can a Creative player work on Linux?
Again it isn't officially supported, but again some kinds folks out there have written freeware applications to get your Creative player working. There's the Gnomad2 project. And don't forget the Linux forum at Nomadness.net if you are still having problems.
    Tag Based Players
This section covers the players that use a hard disk and work using tags e.g. Zen Xtra, Touch, Micro, Sleek.
My Zen is not behaving properly, won't startup, or goes into rescue mode. What should I do?
If the Zen is not starting properly or not behaving correctly, first try to reset it. To reset all players except for the Zen Micro there is a small switch on the side of the player typically, that you should press using something like a bent paper clip. Don't use anything sharp. To reset the Zen Micro simply remove the battery and replace it.
If this doesn't work then access rescue mode, and try running a disk cleanup.
Next you should try reloading the firmware/OS, but beware if you are having connection problems also with your PC you may end up with a player that has no firmware and cannot be reloaded.
The last resort is to format the player. This will erase the contents from the player, including the content that ships with the player.
If none of these resolve the problem and you are under warranty you should get in contact with support to arrange replacement of the player.
If you aren't under warranty Creative will still repair the player, which you can arrange by contacting support.
How do I do a Disk Cleanup and/or access Rescue/Recovery Mode?
Refer to the sticky Rescue Mode thread. Disk Cleanup is accessed from this. Note that the MuVo players (with the exclusion of the MuVo? players) do not have Rescue Mode.
How long should a Disk Cleanup take?
It should only take a few minutes, and no longer than 30 minutes. Anything longer than this and there is a problem with the player and you need to contact Creative Support.
How long should a format take?
Only a few seconds. Anything more than a minute and there is a problem with the player and you need to contact Creative Support.
Although I can get into Rescue Mode, I can't select any option, or the options don't work?
If Rescue Mode is not working properly or commands can't be chosen the player is faulty. You need to contact Creative Support.
When are the Zen 20Gb/Neeon going to be released outside of the Asia Pacific region?
Due to popular request the Neeon is launched in the USA, but nowhere else for now. If you want the Neeon then contact your regions Customer Services to request it.
The Zen 20Gb is available from some shops in the USA and Europe e.g. Cambridge Soundworks, and Amazon.co.uk.
Is there a known issue with the Zen Micro headphone socket?
Creative Support have neither confirmed nor denied it officially. Some users have posted purported emails from Creative on the forum saying that the socket has been reinforced, but these have not been confirmed by Creative Support either. The exact incidence of the problem is unknown, but newer players seem to suffer less from it.
Should I buy the Zen Micro or Touch etc. and what colour should it be?
We can't tell you what player to get, or what colour it should be. Look at your collection size and the features of the player (see Nomadworld.com for the product pages) and decide yourself based on this.
Why does my Zen Micro battery drain so quickly?
The standby time (24 hours from turn-off) for the Zen Micro seems to use a lot more power than previous Zens. Creative have released both v (..0+) and v2 (2.20.05+) firmware that reduces the standby time to 4 hours. Make sure to update to one of these if you have a draining problem.
Also see JazzMC's detailed page on this problem.
Why is my Zen Micro/Touch Touchpad so sensiti've and/or difficult to use?
The Touchpads take some time to get used to.

  • Tutorial: Converting Video for iPod (Read BEFORE You Post)

Since 1/2 the bandwidth is about the same question - how to convert (Filetype X) to iPod video (MPEG-4 or H264) - here is the simplest and FREE method using one piece of FREE software and the ability to do a bunch at a time in a batch process.
    -------------------MPEG-4 CONVERSION FOR IPOD----------
Start with a muxed file, e.g. MPEG-1 or 2. I am starting with an MPEG-1 music video clip. Update: MPEG Streamclip 1.5 now accepts almost all video clips, AVI (with the right DIvX or 3ivX codecs installed) and QT. So open whatever you have in Streamclip and follow these steps:
    Open in Streamclip
Select File Export to QT (or new setting: File Export to MPEG4)
Big window opens. Select the codec from the top pulldown- Apple MPEG-4 Compressor
Select 40% quality (this lowers the bit rate and makes the file smaller and conform - at 80% the file is 120MB vs. 10 MB at 40%) as you don't want huge files.
Under Sound Select AAC audio codec and 128 kbps
    Under frame size pick 320X240
Click Make Movie and where it will go of course.
On my G5 a 3'46" MPEG-1 music video was converted to a 10.1 MB mov MPEG-4 file in about 25 seconds. With a single G4 that might be 3 minutes. Bitrate is: 370 kbps video and looks fine at the actual size in QT and will look OK on the similarly tiny iPod screen. I was quite impressed by quality for such a small movie. I could goose it up to 50% or 60% to see how bit it gets but it looks good at 40% There may be a sizeable increase in size per 10% increase so before btach processing 100 try one at 40 or 50%.
    -----------IF YOU MUST HAVE H264------------
Open MPEG file in Streamclip: Select the (new) Export to H264 setting that doesn't crash like 1.3.1 did - or you can use these steps and see which is faster if at all. Which allow you to use the preset in QT Pro to export to iPod format (which is H264 and takes a long time).
Select Apple Animation as the codec for Compression at 100% quality
    Same sound setting as above
Pick the frame size that says (Unscaled) next to it such as
352X240 is common for MPEG-1 videos.
Make Movie - this results a huge file. But you can get rid of it later.
Open that huge file in QT Pro.
Do file export and pick the preset at the bottom that is "Movie to iPod"
It will figure out the settings. It may (it will)take a while but you get a M4V file in H264. My clip done this way took about 40 seconds to the Animation step and about 10 minutes for the QT to H264 step.
    --------------------BATCH PROCESSING-------------
Select the batch list - it opens, you add files as many as you like, select convert to Quicktime, then follow the step above once, select the destination directory and then start and it will do one after another in sequence. Note the preview window that opens is the actual post-processed file and you can see at roughly iPod size how it looks in real time or as fast as you can process anyway.

H.264 is going to be slow. No doubt about that. It's still a new codec so it's expected to take a while to compress versus MPEG-4.
I remembered when MP3 was still new ... my 233 MHz P2 machine was just chugging along.
When Ogg Vorbis came along, I would expect the encoding time to be somewhat slower. I was right to a point but that was when I have yet to own a computer that's 1 GHz.
The same deal with compression schemes. For instance, I have found RAR, StuffItX, and 7zip to take it's sweet time, if using the highest settings, compared to ZIP on max compression.
I expected no different with H.264, albeit the encoding time is a bigger difference compared to, say MP3 vs Ogg, but I have learned that when new codecs and compression schemes come by, I expect them to take longer than what I've been accustomed to as I used different machines. It's either that or I buy a faster computer. For the record, it takes me between 2.5~4 hours to convert a 24 minute video to H.264 using my iBook listed below, depending on the complexity of the video.
The quality of H.264 is rather nice for 320x240, sometimes even better than MPEG-4 using the same bitrate and resolution setting, but the output filesize is sometimes smaller than the H.264 cousin because it compresses rather well.
However, let me tell you that I'm rather spoiled when it comes to certain technologies. If the iPod says that it supports 2.5 Mbps MPEG-4, I'll use that setting first and then compare the visual quality of a 768 kbps H.264 file. Most of the time though, the DVDs I've encoded doesn't even come near 2.5 Mbps. It's more like 500~1500 kbps.
Personally, I usually stick at 100% quality and use the Limit Data Rate feature. It's just that I get annoyed even by the smallest artifacts on portable video and the less artifacts I see, the less annoyed I get.
Just thought I'd share my 2 cents.

  • I did allllll that is listed below, but when I get to sync iPad, it won't sync, what do I do? Preparation Before you connect any device to a new library go to the Devices tab

THis is what I did, but when I get to sync, it won't sync.....what do I doLynnLynn
    Preparation
Before you connect any device to a new library go to the Devices tab of the the preferences panel via Edit > Preferences (Windows) or iTunes > Preferences (Mac) and ensure the box next to Prevent iPods, iPhones, and iPads from syncing automatically is ticked. You can now safely connect the device to your computer without the danger of media being automatically deleted or overwritten.
If this device contains contacts or calendar items that are not already on the computer you are using, and that you wish to recover, then make sure you have at least one contact & one event in the applications that will sync with the device (e.g. Windows Address Book or Outlook under Windows, iCal & Address Book on a Mac).Dummy entries will do, but there must be at least one if the data is to be retrieved from the device in step 7 below.
    Transfer purchases
You can transfer your iTunes Store purchases into a new library, after connecting the device, with the menu itemFile > Transfer Purchases from <Device>. You should be prompted to authorize the computer to your iTunes account if you have not already done so. If your device holds content from more than one account you will need to authorize each one.
See also: HT1848 - iTunes Store: Transferring purchases from your iOS device or iPod to a computer.
    Back up (iOS only)
If this is an iOS device you should now right-click on it (control-click on a Mac) in the left-hand column of the iTunes window and click Back Up to make a backup of the current settings and application data on the device.
    Recover other media
iTunes only permits the transfer of iTunes Store purchases. If your device contains other media that you've ripped from CD or downloaded from other online stores you can either go back to the original sources or use third party software to extract your data from your device. There is a list of some of the software available below.
    Recover other purchases
Your device may not have held all your iTunes Store purchases. You can recover qualifying purchases from your account by visiting the home page of the iTunes Store and clicking on the Purchased link in the Quick Linkssection in the right-hand column.
See also: HT2519 - Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
    Restore (iOS only)
Having backed up your device, and rescued all the media from it that you can, you should now restore the device from the backup that you took earlier to ensure that the device is properly associated with this new library. Right-click on it (control-click on a Mac) in the left-hand column of the iTunes window and click Restore from Backup...
    Sync
Set up your preferences for syncing Music, TV Shows, Podcasts, Info etc. then click Sync. For a device that holds calendar or contact information you should be prompted to restore or merge. Click merge to copy this information into your computer. Your device is now properly associated with your new library and you shouldn't have lost any data.
    Backup your library
For the future you should backup your library to a separate hard drive or network share as restoring a backup is much easier than the process above. The user tip Backup your iTunes for Windows library with SyncToy gives a suggested way of doing this effectively for Windows users. Mac owners can make use of Time Machine, or useCarbon Copy Cloner which does a similar job to SyncToy.

Helpful hints before you buy your MacBook Pro 15 or 17 inch:
    1. New MacBook Pro...does not have a firewire 400 port!!. If you have to transfer data from an old (2 years old) MacBook Pro to new one...need a 800 firewire cable or a 400 to 800 cable!!
    2. New MacBook Pro with HD Cinema 30 inch. The two items are not compatible unless you purchase the $99 Dual (not single), I repeat Dual..."Mini Display Port to Dual-Link adapter:

The reason I am posting this is that I bought a MacBook Pro 15 inch on Monday and I specifically told the Apple people at the store what I had: 2 year old MacBook Pro and Cinema HD and what I would need and they sold me the mini single adapter. Nothing worked. Went to the store 3 times and no one could help me. Finally a guy from Australia, on this forum, was able to answer my call for help!!! I actually had to take his email into the store and show it to the Apple folk and they finally got me the correct adapter. Today is Friday, 4 days later and I am finally able to work on a project that has been on hold while I figured out something fairly simple...so much for these "Apple genius people." Just think the problems I would have had if I had an older Mac laptop or a PC laptop?!?@!

    Hi kleeks,
Glad you got it sorted in the end!
To be fair, most of the Genius bar people are very good and your experience was probably not typical, but it is also worth remembering that some of us here have been using Macs since before some of the Geniuses were even born, so we often know a thing or two that they may not have cottoned on to yet! When in doubt, a second opinion here can often be well worth obtaining.
Really glad you have it running as it should now.
    Cheers
    Rod (the "guy from Australia")

  • Do you have to create SPN before you install Sharepoint 2013 Server?

    Hello Community
After installing WS2012 and Sharepoint 2013 Server on it, I
created SPN's for the SQL Server and domain user.
While creating the web application I ran across some information
that says if you use Kerberos Authentication you have to setup the SPN's
in AD DS before you install Sharepoint 2013 Server.
That doesn't make sense to me because it might be possible that
SPN's may be needed to be created throughout the lifetime of the
Sharepoint farm which could be forever.
So the question is, is it true that you can only use Kerberos
Authentication if you created the SPN's in AD DS first?
        Thank you
        Shabeaut

You can create it after-the-fact, you just may have access issues until it is created and the user account running the pool is logged off and back on again. Right, it has nothing to do with the installation status of SharePoint.

  • Can't print: "Before you can perform print-related tasks such as page setup or printing a document,

    Hello,
I have searched these forums but have not found a solution to my problem.
I recently purchased an IOGear USB Print Server (print server only, not USB device server). I was having issues installing and followed a Microsoft support document to try and resolve the issue. It had me remove some entries from the registry.
Hours later, I was able to get the printer installed and working, but I do not know if it was a result of the registry tweak. But now that it has been installed, I cannot get anything to print from Acrobat Reader (I have tried 7.0 and 8.1.1). I get the following error message:
"Before you can perform print-related tasks such as page setup or printing a document, you need to install a printer."
Is there something I should check in the registry to make sure that it will work? I do know for sure that it was working when it was just the printer and drivers installed, it only happened after running the print server setup. I have already tried removing the printers and drivers from the system.
    Thanks,
    Braden

I have a problem similar to those posted here, with one difference. With my printers newly installed, regardless of which one is selected as the default, when I try to print from Adobe Reader I receive the error message we're talking about : "Before you can perform a print related task...."
    Here's the fun part.
If I click OK on the message, ALL MY PRINTERS GET DELETED and, I get the windows message that "Spooler subsystem app has encountered a problem and needs to close"! If instead of clicking OK I switch to Task Manager and end Adobe, I'm fine and can print from other programs.
I can "reset" the problem by deleting the files in C:\Windows\System32\Spool\Printers and C:\Windows\System32\Spool\Drivers\w32x86, restarting the machine, and deleting then reinstalling the printers (which show up again after the restart).
BUT, if I try to print from Adobe Reader again, I get the same cycle of problems.
I am running Windows Vista and Adobe Reader 8.1

  • TS1702 ea game codes opo-up when redeeming "Before you can make purchases, you must tap Continue to sign in, then verify your payment info"

    Hi there,
Not an urgent question, however I would like some help.
EA Games ran a great promotion over the holidays that offered free iphone/ipod and ipad games. I won a few but have not been able to access the games due a weird bug. Everytime I attempt to redeem the code on my iphone in the app store or via Itunes app a pop-up appears "before you can make purchases, you must tap Continue to sign in, then verify your payment info." I'd happily click the continue button if there was one. But there isn't. I click on for the pop-up to move on and I'm back at the screen that asks me to redeem. Which I do and the pop-up returns. I'm fully logged in my payment method works for other app purchases or updates but not these EA codes. Very odd.

There are user-to-user public forums, you're not talking to iTunes Support - I've asked the hosts to remove your account id and password from your post, but you should change your password IMMEDIATELY.
If you are getting a message to contact iTunes Support then you can do so via this link and ask them why the message is appearing (we won't know why) : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page, then Purchases, Billing & Redemption

  • NSS and LUN expanding - what you need to know before you migrate

Thought I'd share, since this isn't in any documentation or TID that I
    can find.
Before you move to OES2 Linux with NSS or multipathing code or EVMS, you
may want to consider this limitation (IMO, a major limitation if you're
    running an Enterprise).
If you SAN allows you to grow/expand a LUN (ie, LUN1 was 50 GB and now
you grow it to 100 GB), you cannot use the new space until you reboot
the server itself. If you're running NCS, then you need to reboot every
node that can host the clustered resource before you can expand the NSS
    pool.
The issue is a bug in the devmapper portion of SLES. ANYTHING that uses
devmapper will prevent the further layers (ie, multipathing or EVMS)
from seeing the additional space until you reboot the server.
Obviously rebooting servers in the middle of the day to add more space
affects Enterprise services to your users. As does making them wait
until off-hours before they can write/save any data to the servers. Not
to mention rebooting multiple nodes in your NCS cluster.
Novell won't fix this until SLES 11. Even then (ie, if you implement
OES2 now and can live with the limitation it won't be truly fixed in
SLES 11 if you're using NSS/EVMS), as the limitation will still be in
EVMS in SLES 11. Therefore, you'd have to migrate your data to LVM2 (I
believe that's what Novell is switching to). Yet another major
    disruption for your users.
So, if you're thinking about OES2 with NSS/EVMS or multipathing, you may
want to consider the effect this will have to your userbase (ie, how
many times do you want to migrate your data?)
In our case, looks like it's goint to be one migration --- to MS
    Windows.

    Hi,
General rule, if you think rebooting is NOT an option AND you are not using clustering - you're looking for trouble.
I know I can increase space to my cluster with out kicking my users offline.
    Worked for NSS.
    Worked for OCFS.
    Limitation noted and ignored.

  • Please could you post a document?

I am going to space out some text in this note, so that it
doesn't turn up in other people's searches:
    Please could you post the "H O W T O: S e t t i n g u p y o u
    r a p p l i c a t i o n s e r v e r t o r u n B C 4 J" on
    this forum?
It's very useful, I could do with it now as it happens, and I
    can't find it.
BTW the links on the Product, Documentation page seem to be dead.
    TIA.

    Richard,
I dug this up. I hope it helps you.

How To set up your application server to run BC4J.
    INTRODUCTION
A running BC4J application is actually the combination of:
    * Your own application files
    * BC4J runtime libraries
In order to successfully run your BC4J application in local
    mode, the first requirement is
that your application server contains the necessary BC4J
    libraries.
This How To describes the steps required to ensure that you have
    a functional
BC4J runtime environment installed on your application server.
Oracle IAS 1.0.2 and Tomcat 3.1 will be used as examples.
    THE BC4J RUNTIME LIBRARIES
Whatever application server you deploy to, the following
    libraries
are required in the following order to be in the classpath.
    BC4J Libraries:
    xmlparserv2.jar
    jdev-rt.zip
    jbojdbcpatch.zip
    connectionmanager.zip
    jbohtml.zip
    jboimdomains.zip
    ordim817.zip
    ordvir817.zip
    ordhttp.zip
    jbomt.zip
    jbodomorcl.zip
    jboremote.zip
    jndi.jar
    jbodatum12.zip
These libraries can be found in <JDEV_HOME>/lib/
    INSTALLING THE LIBRARIES ON IAS:
Installing the libraries is simply a matter of copying them to
    the
application server's filesystem and adding them to the classpath.
IAS's classpath can be modified by editing the file:
    <IAS_HOME>\Apache\Jserv\conf\jserv.properties
In this file you'll find the existing pre-installed BC4J
    libraries which
    looks like this:
    wrapper.classpath=<IAS_HOME>\Apache\BC4J\lib\ordvir817.zip
    wrapper.classpath=<IAS_HOME>\Apache\BC4J\lib\ordim817.zip
    etc.
Note! These BC4J libraries correspond to JDeveloper 3.1.1.
In order to run JDev 3.2 based applications you will have to
    update these libraries
    to JDeveloper 3.2 production.
    Steps:
    1. Copy (or FTP) the JDev 3.2 BC4J libraries from
<JDEV_HOME>\lib to a NEW directory on the
    appserver's filesystem called:
    <IAS_HOME>\Apache\BC4J\newlib
    2. Modify the classpath by editing
    <IAS_HOME>\Apache\Jserv\conf\jserv.properties.
    Example: (modified classpath entries)
    # New 3.2 BC4J Runtime libraries
    wrapper.classpath=<IAS_HOME>\Apache\BC4J\newlib\xmlparserv2.jar
    wrapper.classpath=<IAS_HOME>\Apache\BC4J\newlib\jdev-rt.zip
    wrapper.classpath=<IAS_HOME>\Apache\BC4J\newlib\jbojdbcpatch.zip
    wrapper.classpath=<IAS_HOME>\Apache\BC4J\newlib\connectionmanager
    .zip
    wrapper.classpath=<IAS_HOME>\Apache\BC4J\newlib\jbohtml.zip
    wrapper.classpath=<IAS_HOME>\Apache\BC4J\newlib\jboimdomains.zip
    wrapper.classpath=<IAS_HOME>\Apache\BC4J\newlib\ordim817.zip
    wrapper.classpath=<IAS_HOME>\Apache\BC4J\newlib\ordvir817.zip
    wrapper.classpath=<IAS_HOME>\Apache\BC4J\newlib\ordhttp.zip
    wrapper.classpath=<IAS_HOME>\Apache\BC4J\newlib\jbomt.zip
    wrapper.classpath=<IAS_HOME>\Apache\BC4J\newlib\jbodomorcl.zip
    wrapper.classpath=<IAS_HOME>\Apache\BC4J\newlib\jboremote.zip
    wrapper.classpath=<IAS_HOME>\Apache\BC4J\newlib\jndi.jar
    wrapper.classpath=<IAS_HOME>\Apache\BC4J\newlib\jbodatum12.zip
Note: Make sure to remove or comment out the existing 3.1.1 BC4J
    library entries!
To see the changes, you must restart IAS and that's it, your IAS
    will be updated with
the JDev 3.2 BC4J libraries which allow you to run BC4J Data
    Tags among other
    things!
    INSTALLING THE LIBRARIES ON TOMCAT
As before, this process involves both the copying of the
    libraries
    and modifying the classpath.
After copying the BC4J libraries to a path accessible from
    Tomcat,
you can modify Tomcat's classpath by editing it's startup script:
    <TOMCAT_HOME>\bin\tomcat.bat (NT)
    <TOMCAT_HOME>\bin\tomcat.sh (Unix)
Here is a portion of a modified tomcat.bat (on NT)
    rem Add BC4J libraries
    set CLASSPATH=%CLASSPATH%;D:\bc4j_lib\xmlparserv2.jar
    set CLASSPATH=%CLASSPATH%;D:\bc4j_lib\jdev-rt.zip
    set CLASSPATH=%CLASSPATH%;D:\bc4j_lib\jbojdbcpatch.zip
    set CLASSPATH=%CLASSPATH%;D:\bc4j_lib\connectionmanager.zip
    set CLASSPATH=%CLASSPATH%;D:\bc4j_lib\jbohtml.zip
    set CLASSPATH=%CLASSPATH%;D:\bc4j_lib\jboimdomains.zip
    set CLASSPATH=%CLASSPATH%;D:\bc4j_lib\or dim817.zip
    set CLASSPATH=%CLASSPATH%;D:\bc4j_lib\ordvir817.zip
    set CLASSPATH=%CLASSPATH%;D:\bc4j_lib\ordhttp.zip
    set CLASSPATH=%CLASSPATH%;D:\bc4j_lib\jbomt.zip
    set CLASSPATH=%CLASSPATH%;D:\bc4j_lib\jbodomorcl.zip
    set CLASSPATH=%CLASSPATH%;D:\bc4j_lib\jboremote.zip
    set CLASSPATH=%CLASSPATH%;D:\bc4j_lib\jndi.jar
    set CLASSPATH=%CLASSPATH%;D:\bc4j_lib\jbodatum12.zip
    rem Add Oracle JDBC library
    set CLASSPATH=%CLASSPATH%;D:\bc4j_lib\classes12.zip
Note: I also added the Oracle JDBC library since Tomcat does not
    have it.
    It is found at:
    <JDEV_HOME>\jdbc\lib\oracle8.1.7\classes12.zip
    And That's It!
When Tomcat is restarted using this script, the necessary BC4J
    libraries
    will be in the classpath..
