Being charged when no services provided

I have moved from my old flat in March and applied for a home-moving service online. During the moving and 3 weeks after I moved to my new flat, I couldn't use any services, especially broadband, because of the delay of the engineering work. I think it's not my fault but still had been charged for that period through debit card.
How can I claim my money back?

    I tried posting on your fb page and I don't see it there yet.  So I'll try this --  I just got my bill today and saw a $14.99 monthly charge for World Plan 300.  This is the plan I got in June 2013 for ONE MONTH while my children were travelling in Europe.  I requested one month, was actually pro-rated for just the time they were there (which was 3 weeks) , and in July 2013 I called back to make sure the charge was removed.  I was assured it had been.  Should I check my bill carefully?  Yes of course.  BUT, your representative told me the charge was removed and it wasn't!  So, they lied or are incompetent.  I paid for this service in Aug/Sept/Oct/Nov and Dec.  Are you kidding me?  $75 for something I NEVER used and had cancelled?  I asked your phone rep tonight and she assured me it was cancelled.  Well, the man on the phone in July told me it was cancelled, too.  Who do I believe?  I asked her tonight to connect me to someone who can credit my account for the service I cancelled and she said it was not possible.  Not possible to get back the money for something you didn't cancel??  This is shameful.
    Any check of my account will show when the service was ordered, when I used my home phone to call Europe, and when I stopped using it.  I am disapointed that your company is satisfied with continuing to charge me for a service I had every reason to think was cancelled.  You TOLD me it was cancelled.  I added several Premium TV cable choices in August so the fact that the bill was higher didn't really register. 
    You have one deeply disapointed customer in me.

    I moved from MD TWO YEARS AGO and cancelled my bundled services (Phone, internet, and cable), but apparently someone at Verizon left the internet service on...I wasn't getting a bill and had Verizon service installed in my new home in TX, so I didn't think anything of it. When I recently ran my credit report, I noticed a negative from Verizon, when I called to investigate, after a 40 minute call, I was told I had to call the Finance department the next day to arrange payment for the $1100 I owed for the 23 months of internet service that they'd been charging me for.....
    My first call started at 7am (PST)....after being told I was routed to the wrong department and transferred FOUR TIMES over an hour, I finally reached a supervisor who told me they would call me back....yeah right
    So, when I called back this evening, and was transferred three more times, hung up on, put on hold (only to wait and then be disconnected), I reached an extremely rude "customer service" agent, who told me she would do me the courtesy of knocking off three months of the 23 month bill, but that I would be responsible for the rest, because she didn't see and record of a request being made to disconnect the service.
    I REPEAT!!!!!   BUNDLE SERVICE!!!!!!  CABLE WAS CUT OF IN MARCH OF 2012!!!!!! PHONE WAS CUT OFF IN MARCH OF 2012!!!!   WHY WOULDN'T THE INTERNET HAVE BEEN CUT OFF AS WELL?????????

    i have a monthly subsciption that allows free skype to skype call.why am i being charged on my phone credit when i call.Am calling Saudi to Saudi.Also the reception is crap,keeps breaking up,As for the computer to computer skype,this is a no go .Ihave a 4G dongel and they just cant hear me in england.Whats going on with skype.Before any one suggests computer fault,it only 4 weeks old with windows 8 and everything is on that should be on.   • How does one do updates when your service provider is s-l-o-w??                     According to the counter, our computer needs almost 20 hrs. of updates, is there a way to pick and choose which ones are downloaded?

    We have a "Rocket Hub" and our download times vary greatly.  My husband's computer, Snow Leopard OS, shows he has about 20 hrs. of updates to download.  Is there a way to pick and choose so we can catch up?

    Nope, because files sizes, machines, software installed are different and you can't control what needs to be installed first before others work.
    Apple is all Internet, you should see Lion users, they can't reinstall their OS at all without a Internet connection. (or pay $69 for the Lion USB key) and then there still the updates to deal with.
    So take a ride, to a Apple Store early in the morning before their network gets overloaded (what a way to get you in the door and buy more junk uh?) fully update to 10.6.8.
    Good thing about Snow Leopard, not much more in large updates coming for that verision, in fact they will stop completely come next spring or so when 10.8 is released.
    Unless you live in a wealthy area with broadband, your a nobody in Apple's viewpoint.
    You could get a 3G laptop connect card, hopefully that will give you enough to download your updates but they cost a fortune.
    If I could just provide you with update disk I would, but I can't, machines are different.
    Call Apple and ask for a update disk, perhaps they have a solution
    Once you do get all your updates, Carbon Copy Clone your boot drive to a external drive, it's hold the option key bootable duplicate.

    I'm having charges taken out of my account that I'm not aware of.

    If these charges are being made to a credit or debit card, the most immediate thing you need to do is to call your credit card company or bank and report the unauthorized charges. That company can contact Apple if they need additional information.
    Next, log into your iTunes Store account and see if the purchases are reflected in the Purchase History. If they are, immediately change the password to your iTunes Store account, making sure it's not something easily guessed or looked up. Then go here:

    and follow the instructions to report the issue to the iTunes Store. 
    If the charges are not reflected in the Purchase History, then it's most likely a fraudulent charge to your credit card directly rather than an unauthorized purchase through your iTunes Store account in which case it will be up to your bank to handle.

    I am a BT Broadband and land line customer and have tried all morning to set up BT Sport on my sky box and p.c. without any luck. When I try to subscribe BT Sport to my sky tv it says I have to pay £15.00 one off payment followed by £12.00 monthly payments, I thought it was free. I then tried to subscribe BT Sport to my p.c. It told me I am not a BT customer even though I was careful that all the information was correct including account numbers, sky card numbers, phone numbers etc.. I have had an online chat with someone in India who couldn't help he rang my phone and told me to wait while he put me through to someone who could. After 2 cups of tea and some more searching on the Internet I felt a bit foolish with the phone still to my ear listening to it ring at the other end in the false hope that someone would eventually pick it up and talk to me. I obviously had more patience than the person who I was expecting to answer the phone as I suddenly got cut off. I didn't go back to the chat room in India as when I first called them I was number 45 in the queue and that was at 7am this morning. Dread to think what number I would be now.  Anyone else had this problem that perhaps they could pass on some useful tips for me please.

    Many thanks for answer. Found out what the problem is, years ago someone at BT had put me on a business tariff rather than residential but forgot to tell me. Therefore unable to register as my bt broadband and bt phone are on separate accounts. I was told to ring a bt business number 0800 800 152 to amalgamate both of these to residential. Have tried since 12pm to change this but all I've managed to speak to are robots and the call centres in India. Oh well tomorrows another day, good job I'm on two weeks annual leave I think I'm going to need it.

    I currently live abroad with HM Forces (not our choice) and will be returning to the UK this summer. The house we will be moving in to is within an MOD Station and is currently empty. How can I avoid paying a reconnection fee for the BT line when it is not my fault that it has not been used?

    If the line still exists, then it has probaby just been "stopped" and it should be possible for it to be activated for free, depending on the contract you agree to.
    You will have to see what BT say, when you place your order.

    Hi, I have just checked my bank account and to my surprise have recieved two charges from Spotify in the past 2 months. One on 9th June and 1 on 9th July. This is despite my Spotfy account being a free account and me never requesting to upgrade to Premium. What's more my Spotfy account remains as a free account when I log in so I am now worried thata) I'm being charged for a service I don't haveorb)My bank details have been used by someone else to gain a spotify account. To make it worse, I can't seme to find a way of contacting Spotfy directly and instead am left wiuth the hope they might respond to this message if I post it in the community. I would appreciate it greatly if someone could coontact me - either from Spotify directly or someone on this board could let me know of a way of contacting them.

    I had a free trial with playstation music which ended on the 6th of June. However money has been withdrawan from my account two months in a row since cancelling my subscription, it says on my bank account that its an unpaid standing order but when I go onto spotify I still have all the premium features and I do not want nor can I afford premium anymore as a student. Please can you find a way to refund me and/or cancel my subscription because I find this to be ridiculous when I have cancelled my subscription and my online banking shows I have NO standing orders yet on a monthly basis £10 is being taken out!

  • When I try to turn on my iPhone 4, it wouldn't turn on unless if I use an iPad Charger. When it will turn on. I can't connect to any WiFi Services or my Service Provider, I can't text or call anyone. When I unplug my iPhone 4 it'll just shut off.

    So when I try to plug in My iPhone 4 to any plug it won't turn on or charge unless if I use an iPad charger. When I do get to turn it on. My Phone will Standby for a few seconds( While I'm Typing my 4-Digit Code) then it'll unlock and go to the home screen. Once I'm on the home Screen I can't Call, Text or Email anyone because my iPhone Can't detect any Wifi Hotspots and it also can't connect to my Service Provider, It'll just Say "Searching...". The non-internet apps work perfectly fine. So since I was able to use Just an iPad Charger to turn on my iPhone 4, I tried a Regular iPhone charger that were plugged into a wall or my computer. When its Plugged in, my iPhone will turn on ( Showing the Apple Logo) then turn back off. It'll constanly do this only when it's plugged into a Regular iPhone Charger, Either plugged into a Wall Socket or my Computer. So I Tried to Restore the Phone by using some of the Methods, given by other iPhone 4 Users, non of them worked. My iPhone won't Restart, Restore, Turn on without a Charger, Be Detected on my Computer and Detect my Service Provider. I really need help to fix my iPhone 4. I'm really not sure if it's a Malfunction with the Software on the iPhone, if my Sim Card is Broken. if the System is Corrupted but it only happens Rarely.

    Because GPS has nothing to do with WiFi, cellular signals, or data of any sort. GPS is implemented by signals sent by satellites that are received by GPS receivers. The receivers process the information from the GPS satellites and calculate your location. GPS never sends data anywhere; GPS functionality is receive only.
