Best setting for output

I've used boris uprez in cs5.5 to convert some sd to hd and it looks great. What's the best output setting so that it'll still look great on the dvd?

What codec was used to create the MOV file?
What sequence settings are you using?

Please tell me what is the best setting for exporting movie in Widescreen format?

Like in After effect we use "NTSC D1 Widescreen Square Pixel".,
Carefully examine the codec and pixel dimensions of that output file. That's certainly easy for an experienced VFX person like yourself.
Then carefully look over the presets in FCP to find the same attibutes. You can also use the online help system for FCP and search for "D1"
However, your question remains unanswerable because we don't know how you're getting to the monitor. What are you playing back you AE sequences on that displays them on your LCD? You're assuming we know what you're doing and, I assure you, we do not.

  • My daq card PCI6025e' digital ports PA,PB,PC are in high state and cannot be changed even in MAX 2.1 testing panel and continuously output 5 volts even set for output.

my digital ports PA,PB,PC are in high state and cannot be set low even if it is set for outputs.
    Thanks

The MAX utility is the closest to the driver level and will eliminate software configuration as a possible issue. Please disconnect anything that you have connected to the DIO lines.
Use the MAX test panel for your DIO lines, configure them as outputs, and set them to a low state. Use a multimeter (DMM) to observe the line state. If it is still high then you may have a problem with your hardware. If this is the case, I advise calling National Instruments support and investigate a possible RMA (repair).

  • What's the best setting for a best shades quality?

    Hi!
I would like to know what are the best codec and the best setting for a video with 1920x1080 of resolution.
I've tried them all but nothing because the shades...are not shades.
I want a video that is like a uncompressed video but lighter. Same quality, same shades.
I've tried with Canopus Lossless but the video is darker and huge (7 min for >17 gb),
then with Canopus HQ, same quality but a little bit lighter (6 gb),
I've tried with all of codecs and settings but I haven't found what I want.
Who can help me for the best settings for the best shades?
    Thanks so much.
    P.S: Sorry for my english!

I used the PNG codec but the video is too big.
New Question:  I've tried to encode the video with Canopus HQ but to 720p and now the video is more lighter, I wanted to upload it on YouTube but is not compatible with the standards.
If I encode this video by changeing the codec to Microsoft Avi uncompressed, can I have the same quality and the same weight?

  • The best format for output

    Hi All,
working in animation project to be broadcasted on a TV channel as HD1080 50i,
1- all the animation layers was rendered from TOONBOOM as .SWF to keep it in vector for compositing issue.
Dose SWF lose any quality? we always use TGA sequence with alpha in our past SD projects but now we found SWF is a smaller file size and allows zooming Because it keeps all vector lines.
2- compositing each scene in after effects cs6 and then render them.
What is the best format for output to deal with premiere cs6 as a real time playback ( my editing pc includes gtx680 4gb., many HGST 3tb with raid controller,64g ram, aja kona 3g) so do I go with TGA sequence (I think it will destroy the raid Because of the large number of small-sized files in read and write ) or MOV uncompressed (I'm afraid of the space size and don’t know it will play in real time ) or what is the best compressed format Maintaining video image quality as its now will be my only master source?
    Many thanks,
    sherif

    Thanks Rick for your reply,
Regarding the SWF i moved to flash pro forums and they are supporting me now,
My system is a pc, win.64, I7-3930K, 64G RAM, EVGA GTX680 4G, Many HGST 3TB with raid controler,
Some advised me to go with Quicktime Prores HQ or DNXHD or DPX ,
In this year project my client's requirement for delivery is :
DNxHD 120 Codec, wrapped with QuickTime rapper, which means a file with MOV extension and the codec used is DNxHD 120 ( 1080@50i HD)
So do i work with dnxhd 120 from the beginning to the delivery? (and it will be my only master source) or another format encode it at the end to dnxhd 120? ( i will distribut this project to many channels after the first run exclusivity period end with different requirements).
    Thanks,
    Sherif

  • Export Media from DV Pal to AVI: Best recommended setting for Output file?

I have a project in CS4, on Windows, in DV format (original videos were M2t).
What is the optimal setting for export (and possibly for the sequence settings too) for the best quality and then smallest size?
If my input is M2T files - is the best settings to work in Premiere is DV 1 for Pal?
I always use Progressive Interlace - is that required or is the default of Lower field OK as well (I am not sure exactly what is the impact of using just one field, but from previous versions of Premiere Progressive always improved the video image)?
Is the frame rate of Pal as 25 FPS must be adhered in the sequence setting and export to avoid re-rendering?
    As for the Export side:
Is using the DV Pal is best for quality without going uncompressed?
Is starting with 16GB of DV as m2T and ending with 20GB of DV reasonable?
Is the method of exporting to DV and then compressing it using a 3rd party is the best way going about the creation of the movie and then compressing it for distribution?
What is the the recommended tool for compressing - and with which format?
The end result is meant to be consumed as an AVI on people's desktop. Not on mobiles or YouTube or DVD.
On BitTorrent I see many files that are in HD but have an amazingly small size of less 1 GB - what do these guys use to achieve such small sizes yet amazing quality?
What is the best tool and codec to achieve a compression based on a file size?
Is DivX better than XVid? And is "Multipass nth pass" is the way to configure the DivX for best results?
I really feel we lack any guidance on these aspects and a huge of time is wasted every time I get to this stage when it should all be pretty standrad for me.
I know I am asking a number of question but if someone is able to jot down the basics of the tool, codec and settings to achieve best quality (regardless of the time it takes to get to it) - I'd be very grateful!
Merry Xmas and a Happy New year to all,

  • Best setting for my set of devices

I would like to know what would be the best settings to get the maximum throughput for my set of devices.
Last night both Airport Extreme and Airport Express were updated with firmware to 7.5.2
    1) Upstairs I have an Airport Extreme. Newer version with 2.4gz and 5ghz bands. This is connected to my AT&T Uverse router/modem. My iMac is ethernet connected to the Airport. Running speed tests I get almost the expected speeds of 12mbs download and 1.5mbs upload.
I had setup a 2.4ghz network and a 5ghz network but may not have used the best settings for my environment.
    2) Downstairs is an Airport Express. I is a "n" version
    3) Connected to the Airport Express via ethernet is a small ethernet hub and connected to that are 2 Dishnetwork 722 DVRs. Each 722 has a Sling Adapter to allow viewing the contents over the internet via iPhone, iPad or web browser. This was the goal for the Express, to supply that info.
Getting max speed out of this Express is important to get the DVRs output out of my house and to my iPad or iPhone.
    4) These are the following devices that are connecting at the house via wifi:
    a) iPhone 4
    b) iPhone 3g
    c) Apple TV newest model and is downstairs next to the Airport Express
    d) iPad
    e) Macbook Air first generation and this is used downstairs in the same room as the Airport Express
Using Airport Utility it appears that all devices show 80211.n and 5ghz except the iphone 3G, which shows 802.11 b/g AND shows it attached to the Airport Express even when I'm next to the Extreme.
From the Airport Utility, I've seen the values fluctuate but here is what shows Signal, Rate and Noise for each device as a snapshot on the Airport Extreme
    iPhone 4 -44, -96, 65
    Airport Express -59, -96, 144
    Apple TV -70, -96, 52
    iPad -50, -96, 65
    Macbook Air -24, -96, 216
Using the Airport Utility, the Airport express show these values
    iPhone 3G -66, -85, 54
    Airport Extreme -54, -86 104
Let me know if you need any other details.

Any advice on the best Airport Utility settings for the Extreme and the Express?
The default settings work very well, so unless you have a specific reason to change them, I would stay with those settings
Should the Express extend a network or join a network?
"Extend" provides more wireless coverage in the area where the Express is located. "Join" provides better bandwidth if you are using only for iTunes, etc. Most users want more wireless coverage.
If I were to extend at network, should the Express extend to the 5ghz or the 2.4ghz
If you have good signal strength at the location of the Express, 5 GHz will support up to 270 Mbps bandwidth. 2.4 GHz will support up to 130 Mbps. You want as much bandwidth as you can get for high definition video performance if you are using wireless. If you have an option to connect the DVRs using ethernet, that will provide the best performance.
The iPhone would have to connect back to your main router if you set the Express up for 5 GHz. It is not easy to extend 5 GHz. You literally have to have very close to a line of sight situation between the main router and the Express for this to work.
If I were to get another Extreme, should it join or extend the network on the Extreme upstairs.
The Extreme does not really do anything if you set it up to "join". The ethernet ports are not active. All you would be able to do with the device in this setting is attach a printer or hard drive to the USB port.
Any documents that would explain the best choices for linking 2 Extremes together?
Apple AirPort Networks is a very good guide.
If you are linking two routers together, an ethernet connection is always the "best" way to do this because it provides maximum bandwidth performance. Up to 1000Mbps with ethernet. "Extending" using wireless only can work well if the "extending" AirPort receives a very strong wireless signal. Ideally, there would be a line-of-sight situation between the devices or close to that ideal.

  • Best setting for 1080i HD

I've been looking around on the web for a while now looking for the best solution to output my project for HD.  I create commercials for a local TV station and we just started broadcasting HD commercials.  What is the best setting to use when rendering?  We transfer spots directly into a server for airing so it doesn't need to be compressed and put to other media first.  Any help is appreciated!

We transfer spots directly into a server for airing so it doesn't need to be compressed and put to other media first.
But it is being compressed when sent, so ultimately there is little point in insisting doing it uncompressed in any way. Most HD broadcast's are MPEG-2 transport streams, some MPEG-4/ H.264, but which ones depends on the hardware the station uses. Anyway, most of these transcoders/ encoders will gladly swallow native MXF/ P2 files, MPEG-2 program streams or H.264 and be smart enough to merely conform/ transcode it without adding anotehr destructive compression pass. So, given you use sufficient dat rates, it should be safe to use any of those formats. Everything else is surely written somewhere in the encoder box' manual, so you may get better answers from the techs of the station.

  • Best setting for Canon VIXIA HF R21 for YouTube

I am looking for the best or most optimal setting for shooting video with my Canon VIXIA HF R21 camera.
I am using a MacBook Pro laptop and Adobe Premiere Elements 10.
My goal is to produce the best quality videos for a "YouTube" channel. The videos will be for a teenage car show shot outdoors and narrated.
    The current DEFAULT settings are:
    Recording Mode = SP, 1440x1080
    Bitrate = 7Mbps
    Codec = MPEG4-AVC/H.264
    Frame Rate = 60i
    Digital Image stabilization = standard
Here are possible "alternative selections" - please let me know if any of these settings are better than the Default settings for YouTube.
    Change Recording Mode to
    1. MXP = 1920x1080 @ 24Mbps
    2. FXP = 1920x1080 @ 17Mbps
    3. XP+ = 1440x1080 @ 12 Mbps
    Change Frame Rate to
    1. PF30
    Digital image stabilization
    1. Dynamic
    2. Standard
    3. Off
I will use Adobe Premiere Elemebnts 10 to upload the final edited video - what setting are the best upload compression settings if I want to upload for the ebst quality?

BillFlorida, I'm not sure what you're not getting here. Have you tried any of the things we've suggested?
There are two settings you need to worry about. One is your PROJECT setting. That must match your original footage, as I've indicated. If it doesn't, you're going to get poor performance and video quality.
The second setting is your OUTPUT setting. That's the only setting YouTube is interested in. If you use the output settings I linked you to above -- working from a project that's been set up properly -- you will get excellent YouTube results.
    Try it. You'll see.
You'll also see, if you experiment a bit, that there's virtually no difference in the quality of FXP and MXP -- especially if you're going to display your video online. The important thing is that your PROJECT settings match that 1920x1080 AVCHD footage and that you use the YouTube output settings recommended in the FAQs.
    Try it. You will see.

  • Best settings for outputting for web

    Hello All!!
I'm hoping someone can help me out.... I'm outputting quicktimes to be uploaded to a web server so they can be embeded on a site for a show reel. What is the best compression setting for a quicktime that maintains it's image quality but loads fast? I've been using h.264 and limiting it to 700 and 800 kbps, im 4:1 audio, deinterlaced, 720x480.
the quicktimes range in length from 1min to 4min. I used Vimeo's setting and that looks the best, but takes too long to load on web server.
I've tried different rates for kbps as well as all the suggested pre-sets in Compressor, and my qt's are still coming out 'soft', and I'm not sure what else to try.
I'm on a MacBook Pro 10.6.7 with 2.6 ghz Intel Core Duo and 4gb of memory, FCP 7.03.
Thank you for all suggestions and help!!
    -K

You'll just want to play with it. One trick I like to use, if there's not a lot of panning going on in the audio, is to drop the audio to mono. Cuts the audio bandwidth in half, allowing more room for video to move.

  • What is the best setting for compressing to a Window Media Player?

I now have the latest Compressor, just now need to figure out which is the best setting to use for compressing to a Windows Media Player. Does anyone know which is the best method?

I'd propose you buy a licence for Telestreams FLip4MAC (flipfactory) Quicktime components to enable ENCODING for HD and SD as you need. It works ok however none of my work requires specifics for windows player. I have a licence just the same.
If you have Flip4mac already installed, you can use the system preferneces  panel to order a an ENCODER component licence. There may be others around as well.
You can just use compressor.app and change the inspector video to use "quicktime components/windows media encoder" in the batch job.. its pretty easy.

  • Best setting for render and use in pc

    hi dear friends
i have final studio,i dont know why but compressor(software) is not working, i shoot by sony EX-1(xd,tapeless) and edit in fCP. i tested some setting in output to render my sequence and use it in pc. i check avi_dv. dv stream, but i dont like quality in rendered file. uncompress file is ok but as you know size is problem and other software need render or preview to play it back. im looking for a great output setting to render a file and use it in pc or retouch it in premier.
    tnx
    Pooria

Thanks for the great response and links to much needed info. Very much appreciated.
I gather from your response that Crystal Reports 2008, developer 12.0 has been overcome by events, at least in the scenario of Net development withing VS 2010....

  • Best setting for compressor-JVC Everio Hard Disc Camcorder Quicktime file?

    Hi,
I am still having trouble figuring out why compressor is taking so long. Maybe I need to call Apple Support. I tried the web source setting-medium quality, but it is still taking 4+ hours, and continues to increase in length till completion. It is imported from fcp quicktime movie. What is the best setting to use ?#Agghh this is frustrating. I only want to upload this onto a file share web data base system, I don't even need to burn it to a DVD. Should I choose the H 2.6.. for iPod, the web source setting, or something else? These are just 1 hour/ 1 1/2 hour movies that fit on a 4.7 GB DVD before I imported them into fcp>now the fcp file has expanded up to 69GB. What is the deal? I re-installed fc studio. Any suggestions?

If a file from a DVD is now 69 GB then it must have been converted along the way from the original DVD.
How are you importing? What are the specs of the file? What is your work flow process?
